David is the owner and very professional. They picked up the rugs for cleaning and when done delivered and placed them in the areas that they went, all with a smile. The did a very good job.

I have a 9 X 12.5 intricately designed oriental in my bedroom, which was stained by my new puppy. David picked up the rug at my home and agreed to keep it in storage after cleaning to give me time for the puppy to become better house-trained. He brought the rug back in December. It looks like a brand new oriental. He and his assistant took the time to get the rug in the perfect placement for my newly rearranged furniture. Couldn't be happier with this vendor.

My mother-in-law recently passed away and we inheirited an oriental rug that was stained. David came out and evaluated the materials of the rug, how and where it was made, and how to best remove the stain, etc. He was prompt, friendly, and professional. We decided to have 2 other rugs cleaned as well. I have not rated the price since we have not done this before. We would hire him again.

Fabulous!! I will always use them in the future. We moved out of our Massachusetts house in the spring and are currently remodeling our retirement home on the coast of Maine. I brought the rugs in about a month ago and they were ready exactly when they said they would be. In addition to cleaning them all, David also fixed pulls and touched up one of the rugs that had heavier wear. A number of these rugs were custom made through the Boston Design Center and and neither they nor other rug services that I have used every told me about the importance of putting heavier pads under the rugs. David was the first to do so! I will drive down from Maine to get these rugs cleaned by David and his great crew!

David Mouradian personally came to my house in Watertown to pick up my 8x10 oriental carpet for cleaning and he was able to schedule the return for after the painting of the room was completed. On delivery, when the carpet was laid in the room it just popped! The colors were brighter and even the fringe went from biege to white. David was even able to replace the 25 year old pad for me (the old one was starting to shed). David was professional in every way and completed his work exactly as stated up front. In all, this was a very good experience. The final price was exactly the amount presented at the time of pickup (I even got the Angie's list discount). I definitely recommend him and Melrose Oriental Rug Co and will use him for future carpet cleaning services. Melrose Oriental Rug Co also sells carpets, but I have not been to the store.

He was very good and showed up on the agreed date. Healso follows through with answering calls and calling you back.

We are very pleased with the services that David Mouradian (owner of Melrose Oriental Rug Co.) and his crew provided to us. He responded promptly to our initial call and scheduled times with us in a flexible manner. We asked David to look at a number of oriental rugs that needed cleaning and repairing. He advised us on which repairs were cost-effective and which were not. The rugs were returned in a timely manner and look terrific. As others have said, the colors glow and look rejuvenated. David also provided valuable design services at no additional charge. He advised us about ways we could move our rugs between rooms, resulting in a brand new look in each room. Redecorating by moving around is a great experience and we are pleased with the difference this has made in our home and in our appreciation of the rugs. Our bedroom needed to have new rugs, since we relocated its large rug at David?s suggestion. He advised us to choose small area rugs for the bottom and sides of the bed. We were delighted when he brought three sets of rugs to try. Each set was very different (formal vs. tribal), yet each set harmonized beautifully. Having visited our home a number of times, David had a good eye for the colors and styles that would be best. After living with the suggested rugs for a week, we could not imagine sending them back. Our ?new? bedroom rugs and design are a great change?and the former bedroom rug is now at home in the living room. The prices for the new smaller rugs in the bedroom were quite reasonable, particularly with the discount David offered us. As for the pricing for cleaning and repair, we found David and Melrose Oriental Rug Co. to be very reasonable. The Angie?s List discount was also helpful, especially since we had a number of rugs to clean. As an added service, free of charge, David provided an appraisal of all our rugs. Given how much other firms charge for this appraisal service, we were impressed that David would provide this important service for no charge. As you can imagine, we strongly recommend David Mouradian and Melrose Oriental Rug Co. and will contact David in the future if we need cleaning, repairing, or appraising of our oriental rugs. We also would contact David if we needed to purchase an oriental rug in the future. Good man?good company!

Fabulous...the dog had gotten sick all over the rug. I immediately jumped into angies list.

Two things I like about this company. 1) They wash the rugs by hand with water. This is the way it should be done for high quality wool and silk rugs, but not all rug cleaning businesses do it this way. By hand is both safer and provides better results. 2) They will come to your home, roll up the rugs and take them to their shop. Much easier than attempting to transport them your self one at a time. They come on time as promised and are very careful inside your home. I bought 2 of our rugs here also, they are very Knowledgeable regarding fine orientals.

The Indian rug asI mentioned was just a straight ahead cleaning. The Chinese rug was a different story. The rug in a month became a disaster. There began to be small pet stains that became larger over time. Efforts to clean the rug by me was not successful. Six months later my husband and I decided to throw in the towel. I went out and bought a new rug and we rolled up the old one and put it in the corner, not knowing what to do with it. Finally we decided to clean the rug and maybe we could use it somewhere else if It cleaned up well enough. I looked on Angie's List and found Melrose Oriental Rug Company. I called and they quickly responded. David came out laid both rugs in the driveway. I hate to say it but you can see a lot more out in the sunshine. He told me what stains he could get out and ones that would not come out. No matter what the rug would look better and the spots would blend in and not stand out, but it could not return to it's previous state. . I decided to go ahead and have it cleaned . Wow and I was glad I did! The rug is not perfect as he said, but definitely good enough to put back in our dining room. Actually it looks better with the fringe trim it was given. I can't believe the difference. Now I don't know what to do with the new rug I bought! On a final note my work schedule kept interfering with the delivery of the rugs. I finally told them that I would leave the check on the door and the door unlocked. They came in and set up both rugs. Looks great! Did I mention I live in Groton MA.

The work was truly excellent and the customer service extraordinary. David arranged pickup and delivery around my schedule; instantly returned phone calls and the rugs look awesome ! The pricing is very reasonable and I thoroughly recommend Melrose Rug.

The rugs were picked up on time for the cleaning. David explained the process that they would go through. One of the rugs smelled from dog urine which was why we decided to have them cleaned in the first place. When I called David to schedule the return he told me that the first several washings did not completely remove the odor and he wanted to wash the rug a few more times. The rugs were delivered, they look great and the odor is gone. Very professional; very easy to work with; great job!

I dropped off the rug at Melrose Oriental Rug for repair and cleaning. I received a 20% discount for my delivery of the rug and a 10% discount for being an Angie's list customer. The owner inspected my rug and provided me with an estimate for the necessary repair and the price for cleaning the rug. He also discussed with me the best way to keep the damage from occurring again. Since I was not in a hurry, the rug was promised within three weeks. The estimate was right on target and when I picked up the rug the owner unrolled it so I could view the repair, which was completed so well, it not identifiable. They provided me with the written appraisal and took my rug to my car. Everyone was professional, pleasant and accommodating. I would definitely do business again with Melrose Oriental Rug.

I was impressed at every step of the process when dealing with Melrose. The major highlights were the quality of the cleaning and the promptness and responsiveness of the service. The rugs came out looking amazing - like new, almost completely different rugs. I called for a quote after reading great reviews here on Angie's list. David called me back soon after and was very helpful, informative, and responsive over both phone and email. He was clear about the rates and worked with me to get an accurate quote. I also told him we were planning to move over the holiday weekend and hoped to have the carpets before then. He said that was quicker than their normal turnaround time, but he would try to accommodate our schedule. When we dropped the carpets off, everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful. They were efficient about getting the rugs unloaded, unrolled, and measured, and evaluated. They pointed out heavy soiling, spots that would need a little mending or extra care, etc. One rug had obviously been home to a rodent for a while and was full of seeds and other debris, which we had no idea about until they unrolled it. Fortunately they were gracious and good humored about it. As the pickup date got closer, they said they would have the rugs ready by the date we wanted, and they really came through with the rush order. We picked them up, and again everyone was friendly and professional. The final price ended up being very close to the quote. When we unrolled them back at home, they looked fantastic. Two of them were about three shades brighter than they were when they were dirty. The one with the seeds looked great, as if there had never been anything gross in there. We are really happy with the cleaning, the price, and the service, and will definitely go back to Melrose when the rugs need cleaning again.

Every aspect of the cleaning went very smoothly. David picked up and delivered the two carpets exactly when he said he would. The cleaning far exceeded our expectations. One carpet was very large and the both were very, very dirty. The carpets both look beautiful and far cleaner than we had thought possible!

David was punctual, returned phone calls and explained the process for cleaning and repairing. He thoroughly inspected the rugs and recommended necessary repairs. He carefully removed repaired and returned rugs in a timely fashion. His prices were competitive. It is bonus to have the owner of a business come to inspect your rugs. David was knowledgeable about where the rugs came from and what he could do to improve them. The rugs came back looking great.

A couple of weeks before I was to have house guests and a major event in my home we discovered that the large dining room rug was moth infested. I called Melrose Rug and Dave responded immediately. He came out to the house, examined the rug, explained the nature of the damage and removed the rug immediately, agreeing to have it back to me before my event. He also took with him three small oriental rugs that we were in my entry hall. He also inspected carefully two other very large oriental rugs and found moth damage in one. I was impressed with his professionalism, his thorough examination of my rugs, his knowledge and his willingness to rush the dining room rug through. He returned it along with the small rugs the day and time promised and they looked terrific. He then took the other two rugs and again did a splendid job. To return these he came to the house with three other men, since one of the rugs was under heavy furniture and bookcases which had to be lifted. They were an amazing crew. They worked efficiently and carefully and replaced everything as they had found it. The rugs "sparkled". He treated all the rugs he cleaned so that they would be more resistant to moths and made some suggestions as to how to avoid moth infestations in the future. Since both my husband and I have offices at home he was willing to extend himself on the times for pick-up and delivery so that they would be convenient for us. The entire experience with Dave and Melrose Rug was outstanding. I plan to have him do my upstairs rugs later this summer, and recommend Dave and his company without reservations.

The Melrose Oriental Rug workers are knowledgeable and professional. They have good prices and everybody says that they're the best in the area and that seems to be true. The price varies very much according to what the condition or age of the rug.

I dropped off 6 rugs, which consisted of 1 shag rug and 5 oriental handmade rugs. The cost to clean, and if needed, repair each rug was clearly determined. The 30% discount for Angie's members was promptly included. About 3 weeks later, I picked up 6 beautifully cleaned and repaired rugs. I was very pleased with the no-nonsense and highly professional services from start to finish. Dropping off and picking up the rugs myself also saved me some money.

David came to assess our rugs and took several for cleaning as they had suffered years of abuse (including repeated pet staining). They were returned in wonderful condition....looking (and smelling) 100% better. During the initial visit, we also asked him to look at a runner that was quite worn. When he returned, he brought two new runners for us to look at and consider...both were perfect for the space...perfect size, perfect colors. We purchased one, and he kindly threw in a free cleaning of the old, worn runner for use in another room. He also educated us on some of our existing rugs, and sent us more information about the design of one of them. While we expected that our rugs would receive professional cleaning, his expertise and help in replacing a rug that had needed replacing many years ago were real pluses/ He is a true professional, with a great eye for design and deep expertise in oriental carpets.

We called several companies on Angie's List as well as the store where we bought one of the Orientals. Melrose was the only one that would come out and give us an estimate on repairs to the Oriental rugs. The others all wanted to give an estimate after they had cleaned the rugs and had them in their possession. Dave, the owner, came out himself and took time to examine the rugs, and we discussed what needed to be done and the price. We decided to add the carpet cleaning at that time. Dave said the rugs would be done in two weeks, and we confirmed via e-mail. He also e-mailed the type and origin of my inherited rug, which I had asked him about. The rugs were ready on time, and were delivered by the cleaning crew. They were very nice and courteous and did a nice job. The carpet cleaning cost less and was more careful than other companies we'd used, although cleaning the couch cost a little more. All three area rugs came out well--the colors are vibrant and the repairs were made. We were impressed with Dave's service and would use Melrose again.
