They were extremely communicative, gave us an approximate date when the rug would be ready. Then, before that date they called to say the rug was clean but they wanted to treat it again because there were still vestiges of odor. They cleaned the rug again and when we picked it up the odors were gone. They are consummate professionals and obviously take great pride in their work.

We asked Melrose Oriental Rug Co. to take on the special task of cleaning all of the oriental rugs in our house prior to a major move, including 15 rugs ranging from 3'x5' to 12'x20' in size. David Mouradian, the owner of Melrose Rug, came to our house to personally measure and assess each rug. Because we were downsizing from a large house and needed to triage the rugs to different locations, David used his expert knowledge and trained eye help us to decide the optimal location and appropriate new pad for each rug, and discuss the costs and benefits of certain repairs such as fringe and moth damage. David and his crew carefully packaged up each rug, put them through thorough cleaning, and delivered the beautifully cleaned rugs to their next destinations. David himself was personally involved at each stage of the operation, and his crew took extra steps - even after usual business hours - to ensure that each finished rug was optimally laid out during the narrow time window between the floor cleaning and the move-in of overlying furniture. I cannot recommend Melrose Oriental Rug Co. highly enough and would gladly use them again in the future.

From the time I requested an appointment to the time of service, David Mouradian (the owner) expedited the pick up of my room-sized rugs within 15 hours! The rugs were cleaned at the Melrose warehouse and look good as new. David and his crew were punctual, very professional, and efficient about both the pick up and re-setting of the rugs. They wouldn't let me lift a finger to help. David made sure that everything was placed to my satisfaction. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and use their services again. Thank you David!

They did an excellent job, and also helped us solve a problem with an area rug which kept getting ridges by adding a special rug pad.

The crew showed up on time and did a professional job of removing the rugs (which involved some furniture movement). The work was completed on time and on budget. The rugs were delivered, wrapped, to a storage facility as I requested.

Melrose Oriental Rug is incredible! Initially I called them because I needed to get an oriental rug and some braided rugs cleaned. David (the owner) and two assistants came on time to pick them up and were not only efficient and professional, but were kind enough to move (and put back in place) the furniture so they could haul away a couple of large rugs that were dried out and not worth keeping. They explained the cleaning process, how long it would take, and they were right on the mark. The rugs all looked beautiful! I had forgotten that the oriental rug was so beautiful and such a pleasure to walk on! Later in the year when I decided to get a rug to replace the old one that had been hauled away, Melrose Oriental Rug was the first place I thought of to look. I went to the store imagining I would just pick a rug from what they had. Instead they asked questions about what I was looking for and how much light and traffic there was in the room where the rug would be. We looked through piles of rugs and there was no pressure to hurry or irritation if I needed to go back and relook at one or took time to decide. When I had whittled down the rugs to a small number, they made arrangements to bring them to my house. Nothing seemed quite right and David explained that buying a rug is a process and it sometimes takes time to find the right one. He looked for one on his next buying trip, and I returned to the store to pick out another selection. Those, too, were brought to the house. One seemed to work and it was left with me so I could be sure I was happy with it. I had no idea that any company would be so invested in making sure that a customer was happy with their product! I love my rug and if i decide i don't, or move and need something else, I can take advantage of their trade in policy and get something else! This has been one of the best purchasing experiences I have ever had!

It was excellent, absolutely top class. They did a beautiful job on both and they did it very reasonably in terms of price and very quickly in terms of time turn around. We couldn’t have been more pleased. We would certainly recommend this cleaner to anyone for cleaning and repair. They are very pleasant people to deal with. We had brought it off in late September and they were done in three weeks.

I made an appointment over the phone and David (the owner) arrived on schedule to pick up the rug. He gave the rug a thorough assessment, pointing out some issues including the need to repair the edges that had frayed badly. I was impressed with his detailed, professional explanation of the work to be done. He priced out the work on an invoice and provided a 10% Angie's List discount, although I had not asked for it. He also wrote on the invoice exactly the date and time he would return the cleaned and repaired rug. David and a helper returned with the rug exactly when he said he would. The rug looks great, both in terms of brighter colors and more distinct figures. The repairs also look fine, at least to the untutored eye. The price on the invoice was the price I paid, no hidden charges. I would recommend Melrose Oriental Rug Co. to anyone with an oriental rug needing cleaning or repair work.

They are a pleasure to work with. They are very nice. They are patient. The cleaning turned out well and it looks beautiful. The repair is holding up fine. The price was straightforward. It was in line with everybody else, it wasn’t remarkable but they were so courteous and their work was good. I am already using them for another project.

Overall the results were fantastic and the prices very reasonable. We have about $15,000 worth of heirloom oriental carpet on our floors and if Melrose Oriental carpet had wanted to take advantage of our naivete it would have been easy for them to do. Instead they gave us great advice and have won me and my wife as life-long customers.

They gave us excellent advice about our rugs. Explained what needed to be done. Performed the worked on time. You couldn't tell what part of the rug was repaired...that's how good the repair work was. I was impressed by their honesty and professionalism.

I have used Dave and his Dad for years. I have purchased rugs from them and had them cleaned. They are always very professional. I loved that I got to try out several rugs in my house before deciding which one to keep. I would highly recommend Melrose Oriental Rug for purchasing a rug and for cleaning them.

I was very pleased with the service proved by Melrose Oriental. They are professionals and took great care of all my rugs even though some were not orientals just rugs I had purchased from antique stores or others. They kept in touch with me during the process advising of further needed repairs and current status. The rugs came out beautifully and really add pleasure to my house. One of the rugs was badly damaged in one corner and they were able to patch in a repair using part of another rug - you can't see the patch at all. I would definitely use them again.

l called earlier in the week, and was transferred to the owner. I explained that carpet moths had attacked the oriental rug in the dining room, and that I had eradicated many, but the larvae had done some damage... and some areas were eaten through to the backing. He went over the pricing of the various steps that he would recommend, but he also said that when he came and saw the rug, he would tell me if it wasn't worth repairing. As I emptied out the room in preparation for them coming to pick up the rug, I found more areas of damage. When the 2 men arrived today, they pretty quickly showed me how badly the rug was damaged. I was very grateful that he agreed to take the rug and pad away at a very reasonable price.

I corresponded directly with the owner who gave me his personal cell phone. He was prompt, courteous, and invested in giving me high quality service and satisfaction. He was also helpful in suggesting the best approach to repairs, i.e. which rugs were worth repairing and which were not. His crew was respectful of my home and furnishings when they picked up and dropped off the rugs. They even placed them back in their original spots, and neatly rolled and packaged the lesser value rugs for storage.

David came to our house to give a repair estimate on an oriental carpet that our dog had chewed in several places. He scheduled an appointment very promptly when I called him and was right on time the day of the appointment. He gave an estimate on the carpet and recommended repairs consistent with the quality of the carpet. He could have done a more expensive type of reweaving of the hole and edges our dog had chewed, but said the carpet?s value didn?t justify the added cost. He contracted to sew a piece of similar carpet into the hole and bind the ragged edge instead of building it back to original size. We also asked him to clean the carpet and provide a better under pad for it. While he was at the house he looked at our other orientals and gave estimates on the value of each and any repairs/cleaning needed. We went to his store to pick up the carpet when it was ready. It looks very good now and David recommended a different area in the house to put the carpet, where it fits much better and finishes off that room beautifully. While at the store David spent a good amount of time teaching us about rug quality and showing us different rug designs. We plan to have him clean and repair several other of our rugs. David is very knowledgeable and professional.

They went above and beyond, and delivered to my residence due to slight delay with the repair. Will definitely use them for all future rug needs. Highly recommend.

I would hands down bring my rugs back to this place. There is nothing better then a family owned business that cares about its clients. They did a superb job in repairing one of my rugs that had moth damage and also educated me on how to prevent these little pests in the future.

They arrived on time, moved any furniture, took the rug and brought back to my new address. It looks so much better. They also sold me a new, thick carpet pad to go under it. David was very nice and professional. They always arrived when they said they would so I wasn't waiting around long. I definitely recommend them.

After finding some very disgusting pet stains left by my husband's cat, I needed someone to clean my rugs..and in a hurry, with the holidays coming up! It had been several years since they had been cleaned, and with a growing family, it was past time to get it taken care of. Melrose Oriental to the rescue....I spoke to a knowledgeable woman on the phone, who was able to give me a rough estimate. Pick up was scheduled and David (owner) and another employee came out to get the rugs. David is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. I inherited all of the rugs, so I couldn't provide a lot of information on them, but David expertly assessed and told me what I needed to know. He was great. While the rugs were out of the house, we decided to do some major renovating....so, I called David and asked if rug delivery could be pushed out. He was very accomodating, and we agreed they would be delivered a few days before Christmas. When the rugs were delivered, they looked amazing. David and his team did more than I expected....and my rugs are beautiful. They've just gained a lifelong client!

The carpet that Melrose Oriental Rug returned to us in perfect condition, cleaned, repaired and odor free was one that I was prepared to throw into the trash prior to David's assessment. The carpet had been previously cleaned by another company and returned with the same pet odor that was present prior to "cleaning". David, the present owner of Melrose Oriental Rug apparently learned about Oriental carpets from his father. He is very well versed and willing to share this information. David carefully assessed the carpet to determine if it would be worth saving, checked areas that had some slight damage, discovered where the pet odor was coming from, agreed to take the carpet which he thought may require several attempts to remove the pet odor. Because it would possibly take longer than average to complete the cleaning, David very willingly agreed to return the carpet to our new home on the South Shore some 20+ miles further than where he picked it up. We also had a new pad made for the carpet and it was delivered at the same time. I would definitely hire this company again.
