M&N Cleaning

In mid October my sister and brother-in-law were both experiencing serious health problems. As I live in Portland, or. I was sad and frustrated that I was unable to do anything practical to help them. Then I found M&N Cleaning on Angie's List. I spoke with Neilson, the co-owner, and made arrangements for him to visit my sister's home and give an estimate for cleaning. Neilson was responsive, empathetic and easy to deal with. A week later he and a helper cleaned my sister's home for the first time and did a splendid job of it. She jokingly said the kitchen was so sparkly she thought she might need sun glasses when she is in there. Neilson has now cleaned three times and will continue every other week. Not only is he a great cleaner, he is also a kind and thoughtful person. I am delighted

Nelson was very responsive and came out to give me an estimate right away. I have a big house and wanted a deep cleaning. He was thorough in assessing what I wanted done and was able to fit me in my timeframe. He and his team arrived promptly and worked hard for six hours straight. They did a great job, and best of all, they are able to come back in a month for a very precise timeframe that I have around an important visitor during what I know is a very busy time for them. A pleasure to work with.

Nelson came out and did an estimate with my husband. He provided an estimate and we scheduled the next day for a Saturday a week and a half away from the date of the estimate. We have a dog and two cats in the home. I wanted to make sure I could be home to help manage the animals during the cleaning and the Saturday was the best way for me to be available. Maria and Ruth came to our house. It took them approximately 4 hours to clean it, literally from top to bottom. This included windows. Admittedly, they had a big job to do! I'm nearing the end of a pregnancy and the household chores had been accumulating. My hope was that we could get the house ready for the baby's arrival, get the dust/animal hair out of the air, and give my husband and I the chance to finish the other items on the "to do list". I got exactly what I was hoping for and for a price that felt quite fair. Maria left little touches around the house that showed attention to detail. There were hair clips organized on my bedside table, a cleaned off pizza stone, and a ring that I would never have realized I lost on my living room end table. The house looked so great after! I am hoping to be able to have them come out a few times a year to help with the jobs that always seem to get away from you! For now, I am so grateful that we well have a beautifully clean house ready for our new addition's arrival! Thanks again to Nelson, Maria, and Ruth!

These guys are Amazing!!! I called and left a message on their machine. Within an hour Neilson called me back and I explained to him that I needed my condo apartment cleaned prior to my final walk-through with the landlord before turning over the keys. 20 plus years of wear and tear that included spilled wine on the carpeting, even a candle wax spill!!...dust in places I couldn't get to, wall stains/marks, filthy oven, a congealed spot of dust and whatever where the fridge once stood,etc. Well, Neilson showed up on the agreed upon day ( which was the day before the walk-through!) and with 2 assistants went to work. A short time later, 2 more employees showed up to help out. I ran errands while they worked and finally a few hours later Neilson texted me that they were done. When I showed up, I honestly didn't recognize the place! It looked brand new, well close enough anyway. I was extremely pleased and pleasantly surprised. These guys are crazy good! In fact, we have already decided to book them for cleaning our new home! Can't praise Neilson's professionalism and workmanship enough, he and his crew are fast, efficient, pleasant, and reasonably priced. Highest score possible, A+++++

The service from start to finish was fabulous. They were incredibly responsive throughout the entire process - from the initial inquiry phone call to confirmation the day before to checking in the day after to make sure we were happy and to see how our move into the new home went (I mean, COME ON, above and beyond thoughtful in this day and age). Their cleaning was incredibly thorough. We wanted the place deep cleaned before moving in the next day, and they brought a crew of three to tackle the job. The previous owners had cats, so there was a lot of hair around, and it looked like they'd only mopped the floors about 1x/year. The windows were in dire need of cleaning and the kitchen appliances were filthy. By the time M&N finished cleaning, the place was SPARKLING. They got into every nook and cranny. Not only that, but they offered to come back (for free) to do more work on places that they'd worked on (and look totally fine to me), but that they said they could get even cleaner - like behind the washing machine. I didn't take them up on it because it seems perfectly clean to me, but it was above and beyond that they offered. They did all this work in about 90 degree heat and worked well into the evening hours. They'd explained that it would be best to do our place as their last of the day because they didn't know how long it would take and they didn't want to be forced to do a lesser job because of time constraints. This was, by far, the best $330 we spent in the moving process. I'm hoping to hire them for regular cleaning. Definitely recommend!!

The cleaning staff was great. They made my house look like it was ready for company. I plan to have them clean regularly.

I was quoted 3 people coming in that day and it would take 4 hours to clean so I kind of scheduled my day around this but the day of service, I ended up with 2 cleaners and had to cut them off at 4 hours. Neilson was willing to stay longer, but I really had to leave. It wasn't a big deal to me as everything was done. Neilson even offered to come in when I had some time open during the week if I noticed any missing spots for free. I was very happy with the service. My bathroom and kitchen look AMAZING! Both were very professional and listened to my concerns. I plan to contact and use their service again! Thank you Neilson!

Neilson came out to give us an estimate for the work. He was very easy to work with and pleasant to talk to, and he did a good job understanding our concerns and talking through how we could get everything cleaned up. We got quotes from 2 other cleaning companies, and M&N's quote was near the lower end (but read on for more positive info about cost). Neilson was also very accommodating to our tight schedule, since we wanted to move into the house a couple weeks later and have the cleaning done just a few days before. He agreed to come on the Saturday before our move-in date. On that Saturday, the M&N crew was a little late for their scheduled start time, but it's understandable because they had another job scheduled beforehand that went long (it's tough to estimate the whole-house one-time cleanings they often do on weekends), and there was an unexpected amount of traffic between the previous job and my house. Once they got started, I left them to do their thing and waited for their call, which I expected several hours later. Well it turns out things went quite quickly, and they finished in only a few hours. The speed wasn't at the expense of quality either, as I checked all sorts of surfaces for dust... floors, doors, windows, etc. They even cleaned an unfinished utility room that was covered in dust, which was really really appreciated. And again, Neilson was really great to talk to. To top it all off, since they finished earlier than they expected, Neilson dropped the price about 20%, which was a really honest thing to do. I didn't ask, he just did it. If we ever need cleaning services again, we'll absolutely call M&N.

The place was spectacularly cleaned! Maria and her partner made it shine -- which was no small feat given that the place had been home to 2 dogs and 2 cats and was never really cleaned even before we moved it. The landlords were very impressed -- said it was "beautiful." The cleaning was incredibly thorough. Once we get settled in our new place we are going to hire them to do a weekly cleaning! Setting up the service was easy -- they came by to do a walkthrough and a price quote and we set everything up by email. Could not have been easier.

Neilson and his team got into all the dust-collecting spaces that previous housecleaning services had ignored. They were thorough, very efficient, and pleasant to work with. As far as I'm concerned, the best I've ever had. [And that "ever" extends over 50 years :))]

Our stove top was the cleanest it has ever been. All of the floors in our two story condo were swept and washed. The two bathrooms were scrubbed down and left immaculate.

We called through Angies List, and Neilson responded promptly. He was very accommodating about our schedule so we quickly arranged an appointment. He and Sandra arrived promptly and did a great job cleaning.

We had a bit of a communication problem at the beginning with them not getting my messages (not sure what the problem was), but Angie's List contacted them for me and then they got back to me right away and came as soon as we could make our schedules match. They were very friendly, listened to what I wanted them to do and did exactly what I asked. They even left professional touches like you see in fancy hotels. Nice surprise! I am most impressed with my kitchen (although everything looks great). As I said, it really sparkles. It was so clean, I almost didn't want to use it and mess it up. Because I had a "deal," I didn't pay what I put in the cost of service bracket, but they told me that's about what they'd charge for what they did. I would pay that again and it would be worth every penny! Thanks M&M!

M&N cleaning came to our house in the midst of a kitchen renovation, and did not seem overwhelmed at the amount of dust that had been generated. I really appreciated that they did not charge us more for the cleaning because of the construction. They arrived later than the scheduled time, but kept in contact via cell phone so that it wasn't too much of an inconvenience. I had purchased a Big Deal - $75 for 8 hours of cleaning by 1 person or 4 hours of cleaning with 2 pple. Three people showed up and went right to work. They dusted, vacuumed and cleaned the bathrooms. They worked steadily the entire time and stayed around 3.5 hrs, which was very appreciated considering technically I paid for less time than that. I was pleased with the work and would recommend them.

The cleaners from M&N Cleaing were very efficient and worked hard so that the house was well cleaned when they departed. The owner is very professional, responsive, and a pleasure to deal with.

It went great - took a little longer than expected but the end result was spectacular and there was no charge for the extra time!!!! We were exceptionally pleased.

This was the epitome of good service: Everything was moved, cleaned from picture frames & glass, mirrors, knick knacks, furniture faces and surfaces, moldings, rugs. The wood floors, including in the kitchen, tiled baths and showers all were squeaky clean and gleamed. Our wood floors haven't looked this good in quite some time. Furniture was moved - cleaned behind and under. Sinks, tubs, appliances, cabinet faces etc. all scrubbed and gleamed. Any 'found' objects from beneath furniture was placed on furniture tops and brought to our attention. There was a fragrance of "clean" throughout the house! Nielson and Marinella (sp?) worked for many hours and proved to be the best cleaners we have ever had - well worth the price. We have had other cleaners who don't compare. There was an attention to detail that cleaners don't often deliver. In addition, Nielson is communicative, takes pride in his work and encourages honest feedback - he wants his customers to be pleased. That's effective business practice! We will certainly switch cleaners and look forward to a continued positive experience.

I requested the cleaning of the high spaces which I was unable to reach. Nelson did a very complete job. I requested they not use chemical cleaners and they agreed immediately. Te cleaners were careful of the contents of the furnishings and did not rush through the work. I was very pleased with M&N Cleaning

UPDATE: On 4/7/15 via t/c Neilson & I agreed to a refund since the cleaning wasn't good by his wife Maria & her helper. He said he'd drop off the check next day. It's now 4/21/15 (2 wks later) & still no check so I just left voice mail for him to let me know when we could expect it. Status will be posted. CONCLUSION: DO NOT USE for long term. Good only for 1 shot deal or short term. The quality went downhill SLOWLY and the last cleaning was really bad. We paid for a service that was inferior. I am asking cleaner for a refund on the last time. Will post status update to this. On 7/21/14 my husband lost job so we had to scale back cleaning & rate to clean up-stairs only; sunroom, kitchen/dining combo, l/r, 3-bdrms & 1-bath. Soon thereafter their business tremendously grew from Angie?s Big Deal & their ratings soared, Neilson stopped coming with Maria & another female came instead. She wasn?t as meticulous as Neilson was with vacuuming & hardwood floors. I saw cat hairs being left behind on area rugs as well as the normal grit carpets get, not a lot but enough to be noticed. It was rushed. I did let Neilson know when corners were missed hoping she?d be more concientious. On wood floors @ times I?d still see marks where it should've come up easily when washed. I took paper towel, wiped it, gone. It cast doubt on whether certain rooms or areas were washed & if so, it was in haste. Maria always did a fantastic job in kitchen/bath, never any complaints. A couple of times I did mention a few things just to let him know. So on 1/22 we went back to original cleaning of upstairs & downstairs @ original rate. That?s when the quality took a turn for the worst. I'd be 5 cleanings until the last one on 3/19. The tv room wasn?t touched at all & carpet still had grit & food crumbs in front of couch as well coffee table glass uncleaned. The ½ bath & tiny tile foyer still had grit left & some marks on tile. I did let Neilson know & sent pics. Cleaning times #2 - #4, the ½ bath looked much better, but the tv room could?ve been much better, it was rushed. Then, the last cleaning on 3/19 was the worst ever, both upstairs & downstairs. I let Neilson know the next day not giving every detail & expressed concern if anything had happened. The next thing I know 2 days later got back to me & informed me they weren?t coming anymore. No why's or anything. I really thought I deserved an answer & tried but he never got back to me. I didn't understand how they could've done this. I was extremely disappointed about the quality & feel it was unjust since I did pay the full price we agreed.

I hadn't had my house cleaned for quite a few months. Though I'm tidy - I needed floors, bathrooms, dusting and kitchen cleaning. M&N cleaning did a wonderful job. Maybe the best anyone has ever cleaned my house. Neilson Santos was personable and efficient. I wouldn't hesitate to refer M&N Cleaning or use them again!

Positive - personable - some of the cleaning was thorough- bathroom Negative- 1) dusted but didnt vaccuum floors in 2 rooms-? why dust but not t vaccuum the floors? 2) took off oven knobs and scrubbed so hard that the numbers/ settings came off so no one can read settings and temperature numbers and knobs can not be replaced because they are discontinued AND the knobs were replaced in the wrong place- 3) I found the bag of garbage in my yard recycling bin far from the street? - I specifically said the garbage can was around the side of my house

They're great. They're thorough and very professional. The reason why I started using them was there was a special for $80 for four hours of cleaning, something like that.

Nelson and his team arrived on time and even texted me to let me know they were on the way. They did a deep cleaning of the house. They cleaned everything from the oven and microwave to every surface to under every piece of furniture. I don't think our house has ever looked as good. They even managed to get a very nasty grape juice stain off one of the carpets that I had previously tried to clean myself. They were courteous and professional at all times. This was the first time we had invested in a professional cleaning service and I felt very comfortable with them being in our home. We would recommend them 100% and are looking forward to developing an ongoing relationship with them.
