This is a pretty amazing story. I moved into my condo three years ago and was told the house had a new roof that was only 2-3 years old (so it's about six years old). About six months ago, our insurance company came to re-evaluate, and they said we would need repairs to broken shingles on our roof for them to continue coverage. There was also some damage around our skylights and chimney that they pointed out. Since I knew the roof was relatively new, I looked up the contractor who put it on--that was Vinny. So over 5 years after the roof was installed, I tracked down Vinny-- whom I had never personally worked with-- to see if there was any way he could repair the shingles. Honestly, I didn't think I had a shot--it had been so long and I didn't even have a copy of the original contract--but I figured it was worth taking a chance at least. To my amazement, Vinny agreed to come repair all the broken shingles and re-seal my leaking skylight at NO CHARGE. Though it took many reminder phone calls on my part and a few months, he pulled through. And frankly, I'm sure I wasn't on the top of his list since he wasn't charging me- I really couldn't blame him. He came with 5 men and had my roof repaired in under two hours. He was polite, friendly, and gave me tips for improving my roof in the future. I'm still amazed that he did what he did for us, and would highly recommend him. I don't think there are too many people who would give a random new homeowner calling about a broken shingle five years later the time of day! He's truly a man of his word who stands by his work.

I consider myself a discerning customer, demanding a job done correctly, with attention to detail, on time, and on budget. For that reason, I interviewed 4 different contractors for a new roof on my Newton house. When I first met Vinny, I felt very comfortable with him for 2 main reasons – first, I felt he was very attentive to customer satisfaction. He mentioned on numerous occasions that he will not leave a job until his customer is completely satisfied. I like that. Second, he was the only one who was going to be on the job the whole time, doing the work himself and managing his crew. The other contractors where going to drop off their workers in the morning and pick them up at the end of the day (with an occasional ‘drop by’). I ended up choosing Vinny after reading the reviews on this website and speaking to one other reference. Vinny’s price was the lowest of the 4 and he used the same roofing materials proposed by the other roofers (GAF Timberline Prestique 30 Yr Architectural). I asked Vinny about using the higher end shingle (40 Yr), but Vinny quickly talked me out of it, saying it was a waste of my money (make that 3 reasons why I liked Vinney). Vinny showed up on the day he promised and, true to his word, did not leave until everything was done to my satisfaction. He checked in each day to let me know how the job was going and was always available by cell. All I can say is that the final job was outstanding. I’m so happy with the work that he did, the price/value I got, and the clean up that was performed. Not a leaf on my bushes was broken. My neighbors all commented on how great our roof looked! Without doubt or reservation I would highly recommend Vinny. He’s a man of his word that does fantastic work. Now stop reading this review and give him a call!!

Job done exactly as planned in advance. Old roof components were removed and the property left clean. Vinnie responded promptly to my call and gave me an estimate on the spot. The job was done when he told me he would do the work. He explained the details well.

Everything went very well. I did not compare prices, but the price seemed good.

Working with Vinny was terrific. In addition to estimating the job promptly and with a low bid, he came when he said he would and finished the job in essentially three days (working on Sat. and Sun.) so that my work in a home office on the third floor would not be disturbed). I liked that he is on the roof himself, with his crew, so that you get the feeling that he is keeping close watch (and hands on work) at what is being done. He was careful a bout the plantings around the house and the cleanup each day was great.

Vinny was very professional, quoted us reasonable price, and completed work when he said he would. Since it was only going to take one day to finish the job, he agreed for us to pay at the end of the job all in one shot. He also fixed some left over jobs, missing cap, sealing gutters etc for free that our initial contractor didn't do. I would recommend him to a friend and use his services again.

Vinny gave us a good estimate and I immediately felt like he was someone I could trust. He not only ran his company, but he was doing the work, and I like that. We had to wait a bit to actually hire him, and Vinny gave us a call back later to check without being a pain in the neck. We hired him. He stopped by the night before the job, had us sign the paperwork and collected half of the money. The next day he was there stripping the roof. He and his team (there were only about three of them) worked quickly and had the new roof on without any major problems in about two and a half days.

Called for estimate, Vin came out left a written proposal and shingle sample. His price was very competitive and he was very knowledgeable. I pick another contractor, but it was a really tough choice. I would probable call him for future project.

Vinny, his son and the crew worked very hard and did a great job. They were respectful and easygoing, even when our 4 year-old son peppered them with questions. They cleaned up after each day and protected the shrubs and yard carefully. They found a part of the roof where quite a lot of wood was rotted, and they replaced the wood as part of the job. Vinny kept me updated and helped sort out the choices that needed to be made, making recommendations, but respecting my decisions, even if I didn't go with his suggestion.

Overall the job went fine. Vinny and his crew took off the old roof and installed a new one. The job took 2 days.
