Adail was very responsive and got back to me by phone and email every time I had a question during the entire process (from giving me a quote to after the job was done). The roof was old with 3-layers, they removed everything and checked the boards. Also, I had open rafter tails that some needed to be sistered and painted. The crew did a nice job in every step and Adail made sure the job was done to my satisfaction. He went beyond what he was supposed to do, changed the old side shingles around the front porch that he could install the rubber roof correctly. I am very glad that I decided to do the job with AAB roofing.

Adail responded promptly to our inquiry and gave us a timely and detailed estimate for the work. His estimate was quite a bit higher than another we received, but when he described what the work would entail, how he would do it, and the materials he would use, we were convinced to hire him. The 3rd floor deck needed significant repairs before the rubber roofing could be installed, and squirrel holes in the decking under the main roof also needed to be fixed. He and his workers were great--careful, efficient. He paid a great deal of attention to every detail he thought was important in stopping leaks in our old house and has assured us that he will return if we need him to follow up. We haven't needed to call him yet, through this hard winter. He even put a new composite tile surface on the 3rd floor deck without additional charge. We recommend him highly and would certainly hire him again (but we hope that the careful installation of our 30 year shingles will make that unnecessary).

These guys are amazing. Adail was incredibly responsive and helped to work with me when I needed the quote split (original was house & barn). Everyone showed up on time, were nice and very professional. The barn had multiple layers of poorly-patched shingles, and several holes from at least one tree that landed on the roof prior to purchasing the property. Adail and his guys were able to use some of the vintage wood we had on-hand to help replace broken or rotted boards. I already plan to use AAB for painting as soon as we can.

I am not sure that there are kind enough words to describe Adail Bastos. He was so very helpful, and prompt, and thoughtful -- throughout the process. Adail helped us identify the source of a leak in the roof, and he stayed with us when we worried that there was still something wrong. All communications with him were first rate. He and his crew were prompt, and they cleaned everything up better than they found it. I would recommend Adail Bastos and his team to any of my closest friends.

Amazing. AAB replaced our roof on 09/27/2012, and we noticed within the last month that rain and snow were getting into the house through the vents. I emailed Adail Bastos as the matter needed attention but I did not deem it urgent (precipitation had been coming into the attic for a while, and there was no real damage). He called me within the hour, very apologetic. He came out promptly, confirmed the vents were faulty, and replaced them the next day at no charge to us. I cannot rate them highly enough. AAB Roofing is ethical and customer-service-oriented. They want to do right by their customers and they do. I would absolutely use them again for other jobs such as painting and I highly recommend them to anyone needing a roof replacement.

I own a three family home in Chelsea MA and the roof over the dining room was leaking and caused damage to the interior of the house. The roof over the dining room on the first floor is on the backside of the house and supports the two porches on the second and third floor. I had a few roofers come out and give me estimates on replacing the roof, since it was 50 years old and outlived its useful life. After a few sales pitches, dishonest estimates(I actually got a quote of 8,500.00 from one trustworthy roofer), and bad vibes on my end, I decided to check Angie's List to find a reputable, honest roofer. I searched for several roofers and finally came across AAB Roofing on Angie's List. They had a solid A Rating, so I decided to give them a shot. I called AAB roofing and the owner, Adail Bastos, answered the phone. I asked if he could come out and give me an estimate on the roof replacement. He said he could come out the next day, but because of work responsibilities I told him I couldn't be able to meet him at the house the next day. He said that wasn't a problem, asked me what day and time works for me best and he would meet me then. I told him Saturday at 9AM would work best for me. No problem said Adail, and to my surprise he showed up on time! He was very courteous and professional, and took a look at the roof and what the job would entail. There was no pushy sales pitch with Adail, just a professional, business like approach to his work. I could tell he was honest and that he knew exactly what he was talking about after the first 2 minutes of talking with him. I mentioned to him that the floorboards and sideboards on the second floor porch would need to be removed in order for the roof to be replaced. He said that wouldn't be a problem and he would be able to include that in his initial estimate. After about 20 minutes, he left and said he would have an estimate to me within a few days. On the following Tuesday, I received his estimate of 3,400.00 to replace the roof. I noticed that the removal of the floor boards was not on his estimate that he sent me. I emailed Adail on the following Friday asking him to send me a quote about how much it would cost for the removal and reinstallation of the floor and sideboards, as we had discussed previously. I wasn't too concerned since I had made my decision at that point to have AAB Roofing to do the work, I just wanted to confirm the price. I got a call from Adail on that Monday, and he apologized that he didn't get back to me sooner because he was away for the weekend. I was surprised that he was apologizing for this, as since I sent the email on a Friday night, I really didn't expect a response back from him until Monday. When Adail told me he would do the work as previously discussed, I asked him how much it would cost and he told me that there was no additional cost, he would add that work to the estimate and send it back to me. I was shocked when he said this!! I truly expected an additional cost ,since I thought he hadn't included this work on his initial estimate. Adail was very honest with me, and said that as discussed previously, he would do the work. Adail called me a few days later and asked if he could do the roof replacement on that Saturday. He mentioned that he would like to start the job at 8AM and that it would probably take about two days to complete the job. I told him that was fine and I would see him then. His crew showed up on the exact time he mentioned on that Saturday and they immediately went to work. I left for the day since I had a previous engagement, and mentioned to Adail I would see him on Monday. I returned home at about 6PM that night, and he and his crew were still working hard, trying to cover the roof for the anticipated rain on that Sunday. I was amazed at how professional not only Adail was, but his crew was as well. My yard was cleaner after they left than it was before they started the job! Adail and his crew came back on that Monday to complete the job. Adail also did some additional work for me at no extra cost! He just wanted to make sure that everything was complete, accurate and to his standards. Adail is professional, knowledgeable, and does a fantastic job! A few days after he completed the job it rained. Adail called me to ask if there was any issues with the roof. I told him that the dining room was completely dry and it was a job well done. Adail also said that if I ever have any issues with the roof, that I should have no hesitation to call and he would come out and fix it for me at no additional charge. Adail guarantees his work, and after working with him I am very confident that he is a man of his word.. I was very impressed with Adail and the pride he takes in his work. I know that when the main roof will need to be replaced in a few years, I will call AAB Roofing to do the job. Thank You Adail! Keep up the good work!!

We had this company around to the house to look at repairing some slipped shingles on our roof. He professed that the roof was >20 years old and that he could not patch as was in bad condition. Little did he know that the roof was completely replaced 5 years ago and assessed as part of our house purchase, which showed up to have no issues and required "minor" patching work according to our assessor and another who assessed another of the units 6 months before. When confronted with the fact that the roof was new, he just said that he "estimated" the age of the roof, good estimate, do not use...

Working with Adail at AAB Roofing was probably one of the best experiences I've had with any type of contractor. The job was done on time and with high quality and attention to detail. Adail was responsive and punctual. He also went above and beyond the contract: -upgraded the skylights because the type he originally quoted would not have worked well with my house -did all the interior trim work for the skylights -replaced some gutters on the house -replaced rotted boards / reinforced garage rafters All of the extras were done at no additional cost. Everything was cleaned up at the end of each day, and my property was thoroughly cleaned when the job was done. Adail even came back a few days later to ensure there was no debris left behind from when the dumpster was picked up. I highly recommend AAB Roofing.

The workers did a wonderful job and they left the property clean. Adail makes sure that the job is done right. I would recommend him higly and would use him again.

I called Adail and he came out the same day to take a look. He was quite an affable - easy going but clearly energetic. Next day I had a detailed estimate that seemed quite reasonable for the work involved. Within a week we had the repair scheduled. He showed up promptly in the morning as promise and he crew got right to work. The job took most of the day to complete. Two things of interest. 1) Evidently some bees had made a hive up there. That didn't seem to faze or delay things. 2) It turned out that the ends of roof beams on one side were quit rotted. They replaced these although this was not something that could have been known until the old wood work was removed and hence was not part of his original estimate. He also did a few minor repairs to the other side of the eves. When it came time to write the check he wanted nothing over the original estimate.

Very well. They were prompt, couteous and intelligent. I will use them again when needed.

Adail (AAB Roofing) was quick to respond to our request for an estimate. He provided a very detailed written estimate and in person explanation of what he was going to do and when he would do it. Adail may be young in age but very mature and a very professional roofer. I had requested a higher quality roofing shingle (Landmark) that I had found in a recent Consumer Report review. Found out it was a shingle both Adail (AAB Roofing) approved and most often used. The job was just completed this AM April, 18th. Adail does not cut corners, nor does he come back and ask for additional dollars in fact if anything Adail was willing to take a step beyond to do the job right. If you are looking for a a professional roofing firm /owner who has old school values in assuring that the job is done well not just right I would encourage you to call AAB Roofing and Adail. I assure you that you will not be disappointed. His work is excellent, his team professional and the post job clean-up immaculate.

Adail ultimately did not make any cash today, but he absolutely will have our business if we ever need roofing assistance.

AAB Roofing & Painting showed up when expected and did a good job. They were very clean with the work.

Adail was a pleasure to work with. He was friendly, responsive to our questions and concerns, and very reliable. He started and finished the project on schedule and even did some additional work (laying a small wooden deck on the balcony) which was not in his initial proposal. He is a perfectionist and wanted everything to look just right. I was out of town during the entire project but always felt comfortable with Adail and his crew being at the house.

He was on time for the appointment. He inspected the water damages on the ceiling and went on the roof. He indicated where the repairs were required. He said he could fix it for me if required but I there was really no need to spend money to fix the problem. He set me up with the right materials for free. He even offered me a caulking gun. I was able to fix it myself over the warm weekend. Adail fixed the issue for free!

Called for an estimate on roof work. Received a callback and made an appointment. Contractor arrived early and called to let me know, which was nice, but I wasn't able to be back until the agreed-upon time. By the time I got back (on time, FWIW) the contractor was nowhere to be found. I called to find out where he'd gone. He said that he had to leave due to my neighbor complaining about him idling his truck. I wish he'd called me. We agreed to meet again a few days later. He never showed up, and never called back. I didn't bother to try again.

I can't reiterate enough what everyone else has said about Adail. Every single thing that has been said about him previously is absolutely true. not only wonderful in business, he is an all-around great person. highly, highly recommended!

I cannot rate AAB Roofing highly enough. They are truly excellent. Adail Bastos, the owner, got back to me the same day I called and came over for the estimate the next day. He walked around the entire house to get a good look, and his assessment of the condition matched what I already knew and added more info. He didn't give me a sales pitch for anything or a lot of fancy talk, just a straight quote of $7K for the roof and gutters - a nice mix of casual/friendly and professional. After signing a contract and putting half down, he sent shingle samples for us to choose from and a permit application to sign. The start date was delayed twice, but that was due to the vagaries of New England weather and couldn't be helped. Because they were able to shingle one side one day, the other side the second day, and replace the gutters the third day, a tarp wasn't necessary. Everything was cleaned up afterwards and there was no damage to the yards. When we questioned the angle that a gutter was hung at (not lined up with the house but at a slant necessary to actually drain the water), Adail was excellent about coming out to see it and talk to us about how we wanted it hung. He also came out to check on the work being done by his workers and to address their needs and ours. Two of our neighbors wanted AAB's information to hire them at later dates for their own roofs; they both said the roof looked excellent, and one of them said it was a definite improvement to the property (helping the house values on our street). Even better, that roof held up magnificently under Hurricane Sandy - we didn't lose a single shingle or even a nail. We especially liked the fact that Adail is a neighbor, living just a few streets over, and viewing us not just as customers but as neighbors. AAB Roofing is a small company, not flashy, not formal, but very competent, professional, knowledgable, and providing excellent customer service. Highly, highly recommended.

The company owner called back the same day we called him and came out for an estimate the next day. He gave us a price, which at first we thought was high, but in checking with other companies found it was in line. We hired him mostly on his promptness to answer and his straightforward approach. He and his crew came on the day and time promised and did an exceptional job. The clean up afterward was a huge bonus. They really made sure we had no nails or other materials left in the driveway. I would use them again in a minute and would highly recommend them.

Adail was wonderful to work with. We are very happy with the job his team did and would use them again. We have had lots of back luck with other roofers - missing appointments not calling back, etc. Adail was the opposite and it was refreshing! He always got back to us promptly with at least a text or e-mail.

I solicited bids from three highly-reviewed roofers on Angie's List. As other reviews noted, this was the first place AAB stood out. The owner, Adail Bastos, made a point of meeting me at the estimate. He walked me through his approach, answered my questions, and came across as a thoughtful, hardworking and detail-oriented small-businessman. Each bid came back with a slightly different work plan, so I followed up with the contractors to describe their plans and break out costs, to help compare apples to apples. AAB also stood out here, with prompt, thorough answers that added context and even new ideas. AAB's bid came in higher, but also included work -- like repointing the chimney -- that would have been more expensive to contract separately. And I liked the idea of having all the work done by a single company I trusted. When I told Adail that if I went with his higher bid, I would have no budget for overruns, he adjusted the contract to take responsibility for more unplanned costs, like replacing rotten decking. (A moot point, fortunately -- there was virtually no rot.) The work itself couldn't have gone better. AAB's work crew was prompt, professional and crazy efficient. The work was completed in four 12-hour days, including stripping the roof, repairs, new flashing, chimney repointing, the ice barrier, new shingles, and a thorough cleanup each day. They took the unexpected -- bees, thunderstorms, a precipitous 120-pound air conditioner -- in stride, and Adail kept me updated with photos throughout the process, which was a nice touch. My roof is now the envy of my street, and I have already recommended AAB to several neighbors. Needless to say, I'd be happy to use them again -- though not, I expect, for a very long time.

I had my roof replaced two years ago (different provider who has now disappeared......and has other Angie List disputes against him).... This spring some shingles started falling off from one side of the roof.... When I tried to call my old roofer- I discovered his number was no longer valid.. That's when I discovered not only had his Angies List reviews had gone downhill but that others had also tried to find him for issues..... Anyway, I had another roofer come and do an inspection and he thought the shingles were faulty. In order to submit a claim I needed full shingles removed. The initial roofer became unavailable and I called Adail.... He was fantastic from the start. He removed the shingles and did not charge me anything. He just finsihed the roof. I just did one side (the problem side) as I couldn't imagine (or afford) to do the entire roof again. Oh yes, the shingle company declared the priginal shingles were not theirs........ .Adaiil was super communicatives, friendly and he was done in a day.......I highly recommend him.

I cannot say enough good things about Adail and his crew! Adail was extremely punctual returning my inital call and quickly came over to give me a quote. His quote was quite competitive with the others I recieved and very detailed. His kind in is interactions and you can tell right away that you are dealing with a very honest man. As for the job, Adail was very conservative in making sure he did not work on the roof when there was a reasonable threat of rain. He takes great pride in his work and makes sure no shortcuts are taken. Adail's crew was very kind and courteous. Each day they made sure to clean the yard well and leave no signs that they were there. I have recently had issues with another contractor leaving an absolute mess in my yard so I was very appreciateive of Adail's attention to detail. As for the roof itself it is absolutely beautiful.
