Description of Work: I needed to upgrade the electrical circuits in my home office, by adding two new 20A circuits (one for a refrigerator and the other for job-related computer equipment). I also needed a wired network connection from my cable modem to my basement office. Timing was critical as I had a deadline to be functional in my home office. VMA's original date was close to my deadline, and they had to postpone one day due to another job taking longer than expected. However, all the work was done before my deadline and to my satisfaction.

Description of Work: Provider did nothing. Angies list web site error. Signed up for an Angies's list deal. But the provider did not service my area/location. Even though I notified Angie' list this provider/deal did not service my area, Angie's list still requires this review to avoid annoying constant popup reminders.

Description of Work: Nothing. Unfortunately our phone calls were not returned. I understand that these contractors are busy, but this is one of three contractors we contacted via Angie's List over two weeks ago. Not one of them has called us back. We can't get good service if we can't get a return phone call. Very disappointed.

Description of Work: We had a chandelier installed. The electrician arrived promptly on time, listened attentively to what we wanted, figured out how to do it despite the uncommon brackets on the chandelier (Italian made), and completed the work in less than the estimated time. We were charged only for the actual work time.

Description of Work: I called VMA to Tim instal an overhead light in one of our bedrooms. The person I spoke with on the phone was very professional, provided an estimate by email, and was very responsive to my questions. The person on the phone gave me a time window for the day of the service, and Tim showed up promptly at the beginning of that time window. He was friendly and talkative, while not being too chatty (I was working from home while he was there). He left the place as clean as he found it (which was impressive since he had to drill holes in my walls), and even took away the trash from the parts I provided. A day after the service my initial contact called to check in on the service and ask if I had any feedback. Overall I was entirely satisfied with their work and professionalism.

Description of Work: Smoke detectors failed test for certificate. VMA was able to send Tim over the same day. He replaced all the smoke detectors & stayed until everything was working & firemen could sign off on smoke certificate. Plus they gave me a 10% Angie's list discount.

Description of Work: VMA installed a chandelier for us. They were prompt, courteous, extremely professional. No complaints. We would reccomend them to others and use them again.

Description of Work: Came when they said, they shortened the length of the chain that supports the light, but after they left we realized it was too short so they came back & re-wired everything and didn't charge extra. They were great!

Description of Work: We had a short in some old wiring for a ceiling light. They had to rewire the run to one of the two switches for the light, and while they were here I had them install a new outlet on another wall in the room where we'd been thinking of having one, since they were here.

Description of Work: VMA completely rewired our home. We had Knob and Tube wiring that prevented us from insulating the house. We froze last (our first) winter. VMA's final price for all the work was $7,000 less than others that gave us an estimate. The work was done very quickly considering the amount of wiring that needed to be done. The office at VMA has been and still is very helpful as I work through the "MA Saves" process so that I meet the requirements of that MA program. VMA worked with us so that we were impacted as little as possible during the time they worked in our home. I highly recommend this vendor. I'm so very, very glad that I called them.

Description of Work: I've used them on 2 occasions. 1st: Indoor light fixates, update dimmers etc. 2nd: Install replacement and new light fixates outside the home, install exterior receptacles & more dimmers. Both times they came on time and did exactly what they were asked for a reasonable price. They were polite, extremely neat being careful not to track dirt inside & fixed the landscaping around a replaced light post. I do need more work and plan on hiring them again.

Description of Work: I purchased a big deal for $119 for Two Hours of Electrical Service. They installed a ceiling fan and fixing a couple of electrical areas. Two electricians came and they did a great job. Scheduling was timely.
