VMA was great. Very professional and knowledgeable. I've used a lot of electricians and I can say that VMA was simply the best. They did a two day job in one day. Nate and Brendan were excellent and courteous and didn't leave any debris behind like you would expect. Do yourself a favor, next time you need electrical work, call VMA!

It really is a pleasure to work with a company that knows what professionalism is all about. This is the second time I have worked with VMA and they have indeed proved that the first time was not just a fluke. I needed the work done during the holiday. George, the service manager was respectfully honest about the probability of getting this done and yet did his best to accommodate my request. Lorrayne, as always was available with her feedback and advise as I went through the selection process for master bath lighting fixtures. Tim, the technician and his assistant arrived at the set time and accomplished the work with precision, efficiency and a total professionalism. In addition to the technical expertise, punctuality, courteousness, Tim seems to really respect the customer's property, shows great problem solving skill sets and wants to do the right thing. Yes, VMA is not inexpensive. But in my opinion, they do provide a great value for the fees charged. They really seem to care about their customers AND the quality of their work. And I am ready to pay a little more for that. Going forward, I will always contact VMA for any electrical work needed for our home. Thank you Tim, George and Lorrayne.

The electricians were on time, did great work, cleaned up completely and were great to work with. This is the second time we have used VMA for light installations and highly recommend them.

A little pricey for 4 recessed lights,but the work was done on time with no problems

The serviceman seemed competent, efficient, and nice. My only objection is to the cost - $454.50 (after discount for new customer) for 45 minutes of work seems excessive.

It was a great experience. I'll definitely call VMA for any future electrical work. George, Tim and Matt were professional, knowledgeable, prompt, quick, clean and friendly. I have no complaints or criticisms. They are (understandably) booked weeks ahead, so expect that, but it's worth the slight wait.

They did the work efficiently and with minimal damage/footprint. There was a mixup where a LED dimmer wasn't installed, and they came back to do it promptly when we touched base about it. I plan to install more new light fixtures in my house and plan to use VMA again.

V.M.A did an excellent job for us. Victor was very easy to work with and had very good suggestions about how to proceed with the work. The V.M.A. crew arrived right on time (8:00 AM) and got right to work. They had to run cables in our attic for the heater cable outlet and the attic fan. They were very careful as they worked in the attic, and they explained what was going on as they proceeded with the work. When the job was completed, they went though all the work with us and explained how everything operated. On reviewing the attic fan installation, I realized that one switch was not located where I had intended it to be. The V.M.A. crew moved the switch quickly, and without complaint or extra charges. We have had one small snow fall since the heater installation was done, and the heaters performed properly. Victor visited approximately one month before the work was done to discuss all the details. He made suggestions at that time that were very good improvements over what I had originally thought needed to be done. He was great to work with, and our discussions continued very efficiently via email. The two other V.M.A. crew members were also very helpful and were clearly very interested in making sure we were happy with their work. I certainly recommend V.M.A. without reservation.

Guys were punctual, helpful and informative. They did exactly what I needed to do as well as taking look to see why my smoke alarm kept going off. We will use them again without a doubt!

After reading a number of strong reviews, I wasn't too hesitant reaching out to VMA and they lived up to their previous reviews. Both Lorrayne and George were incredibly responsive via email when setting up the appointment and the explanation of the services I needed. Most responses were within an hour or two! The 3 ceiling fans were installed within an hour which I was really impressed with. None of the fans were put together, they put all 3 together and installed them within an hour! They all look great and work with no issue. Tim and (I forget his co-worker's name) were really friendly. They took off their shoes every time they came in and cleaned up everything including taking the old lights and all the boxes the new fans came in. I will be working with VMA again in the Spring for a few other projects I have. I highly recommend this company!

This was my second time contacting VMA Electric in regards to electrical work we needed in our new house. The bathroom fan in our master bathroom had reached the end of its life and needed to be replaced and we were experiencing some odd electrical outages in our kitchen that we wanted investigated. George gave me an all inclusive quote for the bathroom fan project and we agreed that the kitchen would be a basic time and material deal. The pricing details hammered out, he once again worked with me to find a time that would minimize my impact on missing work. Tim, the electrician who did our work the first time, once more called with a firm time of arrival the day of the work to eliminate the guessing of when would they arrive. He walked me through the procedure and recommended installing a LED light in the shower when I voiced my concerns on the smaller bulb the new fan had as its light source. The fan and light were installed very quickly and they cleaned up the bathroom afterwards to make sure there was no residue of the work left behind. The tracking down of the kitchen issue proved to be a bit more time consuming than either one of us had anticipated due to some DIY electrical work the previous owner of the house had opted to do. Once identified, Tim discussed our options on the best way to fix it and the end result was to install a new run to ensure everything was up to code and to keep our power load balanced. I will be contacting VMA again to replace the guest bathroom after the holidays, as now that I have gotten the whisper fan installed in the Master bath, anything else seems far too loud to me. I will also be requesting another LED light installed in the shower as we love the extra light it gives us.

I waited three weeks for the email and called back, leaving a message that I never received the email and tried to be sure he had the correct email address. No response. I called again in three weeks and reached a support person who said they were very behind and could I give him my details. I did that (again) and he said he would check with the owner. He sent me an email a few weeks later asking for pictures of our house and the electric box. I sent then right away, thinking that's odd, that the Google Earth thing was abandoned. I waited a few weeks and called again. He sent an email a few days later saying that our electrical service is inadequate and we would need to upgrade it for $3100 before they could install the cables. I was unwilling to do that and asked how much they needed in terms of amps and I would have our electricians hook up the cables if they would just install them. I set a date for our electricians to come Nov 20th and asked if they could do it by then. It was early November by now and when I asked if they could give us an quote for the install he said they are now booking into December and they really couldn't help us. I complained that we had been strung along since August and that I would be giving them a critical review on Angie's List but no response or apology for their unprofessional handling of this situation. I had to start over with another electrical vendor who has had difficulty obtaining the cables ( in short supply now). This is 12/6 and we still have no firm date on an install. If VMA had not strung us along, I could have looked elsewhere sooner.

They're good. I will probably use them again. The finishing would have been better.

They were amazing! Polite, clean and professional the whole time. They patiently explained what the issues were in a way I could understand and kept digging at out problem until the figure out what it was. Great experience.

I contacted VMA Electric to request some minor electrical work and received a phone call and email from George before the end of the day. George worked with my schedule for the initial date of work and when a conflict on their side arose, he called me well in advance and apologized for the shift in schedule that moved it a few days later in the week. On the day of the appointment, Tim (the electrician assigned to our house) called to give me a solid arrival time in case there was anything I needed to do before he arrived. Once at the house Tim asked me to confirm the work request again to ensure that VMA would be able to meet all my needs during this visit. After getting the go ahead to start, Tim worked swiftly and before I knew it had completed my initial reason for contacting them. Asking if there was anything else he could assist with while he was at the house, I mentioned the dead electrical control panels for the baseboard heating units that the previous owners had left installed after converting the heat to gas. An hour, and eight control units later, Tim had finished the disconnect and securing the power at the control panel and downstairs at the breaker. I would strongly recommend VMA to anyone needing work done and I have already been in contact with them for follow-on work that we are discovering as we fully settle into our new home.

Both projects went well. Communication was good with the front office and they were very organized. Technicians were neat, professional and very polite. They were very knowledgeable about the task and had been briefed appropriately by their project manager. All in all, a great experience. I will be using them again!

Great work, great value. Only cautionary note is that if you see an Angie's special (i.e. 2 hours for $99) just read it carefully and make sure you're in agreement with VMA on what you're paying for. This was a very small job but there was still a misunderstanding on the Angies special....not a big deal as obviously this wasn't an expensive job. And I would certainly use VMA again as the electrician they sent was very nice and really good.

I purchased an Angie's List deal for 3 hours of Electrical Labor for $370 from VMA Electrical. Lorrayne contacted me and I explained what I needed done: moving a hard-wired CO/smoke detector from above a ceiling fan and changing out an existing ceiling-mount light fixture. As I was describing what I wanted, I realized that I had a few other light fixtures that I wanted changed out. I told Lorrayne that I already purchased the correct detector (I purchased a few ahead of time... see below). She explained that I could provide the two ceiling-mount fixtures, too - that way I could get just the fixtures I wanted. She asked me a few questions about the recessed light that I wanted replaced. After telling her the type and color, she emailed me a few pictures of some options and I chose the one I wanted. Tim arrived on time and with everything he needed to do the job - including the replacement LED recessed light that Lorrayne had helped me pick. First, he removed the 3rd floor hard-wired CO/smoke detector from its spot above the ceiling fan. He was able to install a nice cover over the hole it left so it's not very noticeable. He pulled the wires through the ceiling and relocated the detector about 3 feet away. (This summer I had reversed that fan's blade rotation for the first time. The fan kicked up enough dust that it set the detector off 3 times, meaning I had to purchase a new detector each time. Since relocating the detector over a month ago, the fan hasn't set it off even once.) Tim came down to the kitchen/dining area and replaced two ceiling-mount fixtures that I didn't like with two ceiling-mount fixtures that I had purchased. He asked if I wanted to keep the previous fixtures. When I said no, he asked if he could have them - they donate working or non-working fixtures to local electrician schools to help the next generation of electricians - I really like that! He was very friendly and we had a great chat while he worked. Tim did a great job cleaning up in the kitchen and dining room.

The office was very responsive to my request for service. The electricians were prompt and professional. They worked extremely efficiently to diagnose and repair non-functioning outlets and switches. We were very pleased, and will use VMA for future needs.

Contacted VMA Electric after reading reviews on Angie's list. When we met Victor, I was impressed by his professional, can-do attitude, knowledge about new technology and about what upgrades are considered desirable in the current market. Told him at our first meeting itself, that we would like to break down all the upgrades we hoped to accomplish, in 2- 3 stages but wanted an estimate for all of them upfront so that we could decide what gets included in each of these stages. He had zero problems doing that. VMA was very prompt and efficient in submitting the quote and sending in their insurance info. When we decided that we will start off by replacing the older ceiling fixtures in various rooms, the quote was promptly adjusted to reflect the desired work. Then came the challenge of finding the correct fixtures. Being an ultra safety-conscious person, I relied heavily on VMA to advise what to look for in the selection of these fixtures which they did unflinchingly. However, once the fixtures started arriving, the problems started - not with VMA but with the fixtures themselves. It was a rather challenging experience. What is important here is the fact that VMA stood with me every step of the way, while I dealt with returning the fixtures because a part was missing or broken or whatever. As a result, the work that was scheduled to be done in one day, had to be done over two. That made the original quote rather redundant and there was a little bit of tension over that. But I am happy to state that it was resolved quickly and fairly. With minor hiccups, the first stage is now complete and I now have 5 new ceiling fixtures and an outside light that comes on time and a temperamental switch that now has to work all the time. I will be amiss if I did not mention the exceptional service provided by Lorrayne in VMA office. She is calm, confident and capable but more importantly, she comes across as someone who genuinely cares about the customer. I want to say she went out of her way for me to ensure that everything worked out well but I feel that she does that for every customer, not just me. Tim, the electrician was a pro. He was respectful of the property, answered all my queries without getting annoyed and did a wonderful job in hanging the new fixtures.
