Response from The Fireplace Guys LLC
[Member name removed], I needed to replace your gas valve along with your pilot assembly in order to make your unit work properly, on top of those two issues you also needed a burner pan due to the fact that yours was cracked. As I stated I am unable to order the burner pan and suggested you call the manufacture and order it yourself since I am not a dealer. The estimate was for the parts needed to fix your fireplace valve and pilot assembly including install the price would be rough $500. As I said to you it's best if you order the burner pan before I install the new parts considering I would have your entire stove apart and could simply slide the new burner in at the completion of install. You agreed and called the manufacture. I am able to obtain the functioning parts of the fireplace valve and pilot assembly since they are used on many different units, and by many different manufacturers. Often times a manufacturer will say to only use their parts which are used by everyone else so they can make the sale and charge you their inflated prices. The reason I asked you to order the burner from the manufacturer is because that is a part that must be used in the stove if not the stove wouldn't work. Valves, pilots, switches, etc are all common parts. At the end of our visit we agreed I would order the common functioning parts of your fireplace you would order the burner to your fireplace. After speaking with the manufacturer you called me and left a voice mail at 12:02pm February 3rd reminding me to order the parts and stating you would call and order the burner pan from the manufacturer here is a text translation of your voicemail which will omit your phone number for obvious reasons. I apologize for the translation not coming out perfect it's a very basic feature of my voicemail. Hi Derek this is [member name removed]. It's Tuesday about noon time. I'm just calling. You wanted me to call you to remind you to order the tickets against the. And that's it. So if you have a time frame of when they will come in or when you wanna set up an appointment please call me back at ***-***-**** and I'll go ahead and and call the company to order that burner plate thing for the fire place. Okay thank you. Bye bye. Unfortunately when you called I was in the middle of a job and was unable to answer the phone which my voicemail message clearly states. I received a second message from you at 1:12pm February 3rd stating that my prices were way off and a regulator which you don't have nor need is much cheaper. (They are correct regulators are cheap but you do not have a regulator) here is your last voicemail stating for me to hold off in ordering the parts and that you would be in touch. Hi Derek this is [member name removed] again. Is my second message. So I called the company for the gas stove and their price for gas regular it's very different from the price that you quoted me which is a lot less and I talked with them for a little while and they recommended that I use only parts from them because it goes with the stove. So I'm gonna basic(?) just also I do some diagnostics on the stove did(?). Just trying to see if I can determine myself what what might be wrong with it. So hold off on ordering the gas regulator and and I guess I'll just be in touch. Okay. ***-***-**** As of your last message I have been awaiting your and the manufactures recommendation as to how to fix the unit. As for your gas line being disconnected the only line that was disconnected was the line going from your broken valve to your broken burner. There was and is no way for your fireplace to turn on due to the broken parts, and everything being disconnected due to testing. I'd be more then happy to come by replace your valve, pilot assembly, and burner pan which hopefully you have on order like we originally agreed on. Have just been waiting for your call since your last message. Any questions please feel free to call 617-455-5086 Derek
