My gas fireplace wasn't working due to burst pipe leaking into it earlier this year. The person I talked to on the phone was responsive and up front with the price. When the repairman came, he was polite and efficient. He cleaned my fireplace and made sure all was in working order. Great experience.

This was a wonderful experience. Our fireplace was functioning just fine but was in dire need of cleaning. Derek was both professional and personable. The communication prior to the appointment was excellent. Derek was prompt and kept the work area very clean. I will gladly be a repeat customer whether for routine maintenance or repair if need be. Derek was wonderful and so professional. He was very responsive, easy to communicate with and right on time with texts to remind me of our appointment window. He took of his shoes as he came in the house and put drapes down all around the fireplace before he started work. He was very careful with everything, vacuumed as he went and even cleaned the glass of the fireplace when he was done so it all looked way better than before he got here. The cost was a bit higher than I was expecting but Derek explained it is because they don't make this type of stove anymore so parts are expensive so I don't hold that against him in the least. I would happily call Derek again for anything I needed. Thank you so much for the exceptional, professional, careful service!

What a nice guy. Love that he took his work boots off when he entered my house. Told me not to worry about a thing and then at the end answered any questions I had and taught me about a few of the settings on my fireplace. Also said it had been set up incorrectly 10 years ago and fixed the setup.

He's great. He's amazing. He's probably there for two hours. He's really good. He's very thorough. I don't even have to tell him. I just have to call and leave a voicemail. He's right on point. He'll call me back and will schedule the date that works for him. He goes his way. He knows the home. He remembers the dog. He's a good guy. I think the price is fair.

Richard was prompt, clear, courteous and clean (a regular boy scout!). I was having problems with my fireplace not igniting. He replaced the switch and the pilot light, cleaned the fireplace, and gave me an estimate for replacing the non-functioning fan. He was right on time, layed out a drop cloth to ensure no mess occurred in my house, and left the house cleaner then when he arrived. He did a great job! Thanks Richard!

I first called Derek because we couldn't get the automatic pilot to light on our gas fireplace. I spoke with him on the phone and he thought it might be the batteries, gave me good instructions about how to try to replace them. I wasn't able to do this and so he came out. (as it turned out, I probably could have done it if I hadn't been reluctant to pull the unit hard enough to access the battery compartment, so unfortunately I paid for a relatively pricey call unnecessarily, but that was certainly not his fault) so he cleaned and tuned up the fireplace. subsequently I had another problem with it, which he could not have diagnosed at the time and he returned and fixed it at no charge. He was very knowledgeable and helpful; i have had trouble finding people to repair these units and other gas fireplaces in the past and very happy to have found someone who seemed to know what he was doing. Would definitely use again.

I called Derek to let him know that the fireplace was not working again, it took a few emails and calls before he got back to me. He came out again a few weeks later and set up a remote start, we went to use it at Christmas and it only worked for about a half hour and shut off again and wouldn't start. I placed another call to Derek and he was sick and couldn't come out for another couple of weeks. When he did show up he didn't seem to know what the problem was and said he would have to come back because he thinks it is a problem with the vent that keeps shutting it down. It has been a few weeks and I still have not heard from him. We could have been using this for heat when our power had gone out during these storms we've had here. I've paid almost $500 dollars in repairs and still cannot use the fireplace!

Derek responded promptly to an email after we found him on Angie's List. He came out within a week and realized our fireplace needed more work than he anticipated. He obtained parts for our old, rare unit and basically rebuilt it. He covered the surrounding area with a tarp and everything was pristine when he left. He thoroughly explained what he was doing and how to maintain the fireplace in the future. He was professional, fair and personable and we will not hesitate to consult him in the future. I have already referred him to a family member for an installation. It was not easy to find a professional to repair an older existing unit and I will make sure to keep his number handy for future use.

Got right to work-business like-courteous and as he had right item in vehicle-repaired fireplace right away -We were and are pleased as room was warm and usable over holidays (and very cold weather) Would call for periodic checkup.

The experience was excellent. Derek was a professional, and he did not even hold it against me when I completely forgot our appointment. He rescheduled and arrived at my house on time, in a professional manner and made the repair immediately. He also identified an additional issue that I had noticed but not mentioned to him. I gave him my budget and he worked within that. I would enthusiastically recommend Derek for any fireplace or chimney job, including gas fireplaces.
