Contacted Dave, and he immediately got back to me . Gave me a fair estimate, and his crew did an excellent job removing the damaged porch, completely, and then installing a new porch with a very tough footprint to work with. It was done on time, and in coordination with another contractor installing siding. Top notch work.

Dave was great. He was on time, professional, and meticulous. He even rescreened the door a second time because he was not happy with how looked initially. I would use him again.

He gave me a verbal estimate of 2800.00 and said he preferred to do verbal estimates to avoid the paperwork I desired a written estimate and he reluctantly sent me one. When I received it, it was for 3800.00 and outlined less work than he had quoted me over the phone. Needless to say I did not use him and I would not recommend him to others.

It was a pleasant experience. Dave gave us a fair estimate. He's reliable and efficient. He shows up on time and works hard. He was very neat. He cleaned up after each time day of work. He maintained regular communication. He was very helpful in guiding us about the pro's and con's of different stle and told us where to find the best fixtures and tiles.

From start to finish----Renaissance Carpentry when asked for a bid on the job came as scheduled and reviewed our preferences for the type and style of railings, and finish details to match the style of the original railings, front stairs and porch design. We had a bid a few days later. The job started promptly on the agreed date and there was steady progress on each phase of the project by Dave and his employees from beginning to end. Dave himself and his men were professional, good workers and pleasant to deal with.

Dave was very helpful from the beginning. He came out to my house to give me a free estimate. He told me he did not repair sashes like mine, but was willing to call around and find someone who did. I then found a nearby business who specializes in this type of repair. I would definitely keep Renaissance Carpentry on my list of businesses to call in the future.

Their craftsmanship is excellent, and they took the old doors with them and disposed of them for me. I had an alarm on the door and they went out of their way and put it on the new door for me.

We liked Renaissance Carpentry Company. They were very professional. They were punctual. They responded to our call very quickly. However, they did not have any opening for another month. We had to move forward with the project so we contacted another company. We would certainly use their services in the future for something else.

Dave/Renaissance Carpentry was wonderful! We had such a great experience working with him. He was very responsive, knowledgeable, reasonable, and punctual. He called me the day I submitted my inquiry and was out to my house that weekend (which is when I was available for the estimate). He figured out the causes for our problems right away and I could tell he knew what he was doing. He was honest and easy to work with. His quote was very reasonable, so we hired him. He got the job scheduled quickly and the work was done within one day. He and his crew showed up on time and started working right away. We are very happy with the work they did. I'd definitely use him again should the need arise and highly recommend him!

Dave did a great job for us. Came out when promised, gave a fair estimate, was honest about when he would be able to get to the project, and did great work. I had one issue with the job that I asked Dave to fix. Even though I noticed this after I paid him - his response was "no problem" and he was out within a week and fixed the issue to my satisfaction. Highly recommend him.

Dave was willing to work within our budget. We were very specific about wanting to do some of the work ourselves and fortunately he did not shy away from doing a lesser job, which was very much appreciated! Dave was very good at communicating with me about unexpected issues (the discovery that our floor was simply resting on a few wooden blocks was a little surprising!), and very accommodating when we kept adding to his workload. While he was working he discovered that I also needed a new garbage disposal installed and that I had booked a plumber to come later in the week. He offered to install it which was a fantastic help to me! Dave and his team were very friendly and courteous. The quality of work was very good and the price was amazing! We will definitely be calling on Dave to come back and tackle some more jobs next year.

He did all that I asked in a timely fashion.

All the work was done extremely well. The rooms now look beautiful. Dave and all of the people on his team were extremely personable and easy to work with. He kept in touch with us daily so that we knew what to expect and were up to date on the progress. There were a number of issues that made the work more difficult that were due to people other than Dave, and he dealt with them all very professionally and with good humor. In addition, Dave and everyone on his team made a special effort to keep our living space clean while a lot of extremely dusty work was going on upstairs, and this made our lives much easier during the renovation. We are planning to hire him again soon and would recommend him for carpentry or renovation of any kind. We have worked with other general contractors, big and small, and have not found anyone who is as good as Dave.

It took Dave a few weeks to find the time once we got the estimate and agreed to have him do the work, but the work is really beautiful and we're pleased with the outcome. Dave was very professional and always on time. He was always responsive to both phone and email. My tip to anyone using Renaissance is to write everything down on the contract. Dave is very busy and relies on the contract to remember exactly what has been agreed upon. We forgot to have him include reinforcing the deck from underneath when he drafted the contract, so now we need to have him come back to do that. We are already planning for Dave to do more work for us once his schedule clears up a bit. He's one of the best contractors I've worked with.

Dave was responsive by both phone and email. It took a couple weeks to find time in his schedule, but when he had an opening he showed up on time and did an excellent job repairing our porch.

Dave and his team did a great job! They came when they said and worked the whole day until both of our floors were installed. The job was thorough and complete. The work area was left clean when they were done. We had planned on finishing the pine floor ourselves. After we completed our work, Dave returned promptly to install the floor moulding. I would highly recomend this contractor.

Dave responded quickly when I asked for an estimate and emailed the estimate to me. After comparing a few estimates, I chose Dave's as it was the lowest price. Once I made the decisition to go with Renaissance, Dave was able to complete the work quickly. He was very professional and clean. I am very impressed with the quality of the work. My neighbor observed them working while I was at work and told me they worked the entire day and were very professional, in that the didn't have blaring radios and worked quietly. There were additional charges for disposal and for work not anticipated, but we were able to work the final price out to our mutual satisfaction.

The project was going to be more expensive than we thought, so we are waiting to do the project.

We couldn't be more pleased! We've worked with a number of other contractors in the past and David goes to the top of our list.

While it was my intention to save as much of the old deck as possible and Renaissance quoted it as such, Dave Parsons kept me well informed each step of the way as we uncovered items that simply could not be saved. Dave tried to save evertyhing he could and allowed me to make informed decisions about materials, design, etc. Even though we were replacing an existing structure, the town building inspector insisted that I make my deck slightly smaller and Renaissance was able to adjust and redesign so well that I really can't tell the difference in size (unless I look at a parallel grass line to the shortnened side!). In addition, Renaissance built everything by the book (to code) and in some cases (the supporting structure) went over and above code to insure that this deck is here to stay! A few particular notes: responsive (Dave returned ALL of my calls), proactive (Dave would call to tell me if he was arriving or departing outside of his planned schedule... and why!), accurate (Dave gave me an estimate that we did end up going over, but that was 100% due to my desire to upgrade some materials and change design attributes - Dave fully disclosed what the added costs would be), clean (they kept all of their materials tidy and out of our way), fast (they made a schedule and kept to it), extermely patient (I like to ask "how" and "why" questions that some contractors might take as patronizing or picky, but Dave gave me a few lessons on how and why things are built or work the way they do - so I ended up learning a lot, which prevented uncomfortable questions or expectations in the end. For example, I inquired about some mitred joints were not tight at all and Dave explained that he factored in the correct expansion qualities of this particualr material and he was spot on that the joint would look perfect as the deck expanded/contracted when it all settled in and came together). Dave and his team worked very hard and very fast. What was most impressive was their level of detail and meticulouslness. I will be doing some kitchen remodeling in the near future and there is no doubt that the care and attention to fine detail they put into on something as unfinished as a deck, as well as all the aforementioned qualities above, would be a huge benefit in a remodeling project. I can't wait to save up and have Renaisance make a showplace out of my kitchen in the same way they have with my deck. My neighbors (many are in the "trades") are all remarking on the job done and asking about Renaissance themselves. What better compliment could there be.

These guys did it again! They're reliable, professional, punctual, considerate that I'm living in the space they're working on, and I trust them completely. My house is old and Dave always tells me the most economical and practical way to do whatever I need done. He also has a terrific eye for what's possible, and I feel comfortable deferring to him on any decision that has to be made (e.g. he took down a dropped ceiling and found a cupola, that he fixed and it looks like a million dollars). He and his guys do beautiful work, clean up every night, and don't stop until the punch list is complete. Having been married to a contractor I have a pretty good idea of what a job should look like and these guys surpass any work I've ever seen. And Dave's prices are more than reasonable. No one works on my house except Renaissance.

I couldn't have been happier with the quality of Dave's team's work. They worked around my erratic schedule, arrived on time, and got the work done quickly. Within a few weeks the new work was pounded by the winter and it held up admirably. This spring Dave and one of his associates came back to install laminate throughout the basement. The previous owner had started this job but left it in a semi-finished state. Dave was able to work around this issue and blend the new floor into the previous work. He even fixed the doors, baseboards, and baseboard heating that were affected by the new floors. His work on the tile floor of the bathroom was equally exceptional. In short, I recommend him without reservation and he would be the first person I would call for ANY task because I genuinely believes he knows what he's talking about and I have complete trust in his advice.

It was an excellent experience. They came when they said they would. They cleaned up. They were polite. They did a great job.
