John did excellent work. I would definitely hire him again. It was a small job, but he treated it very professionally.

John and his son came out the next day to assess the situation and gave us several options. We decided to remove the light/fan combo and cap the fixture, based on John's recommendation. On his first visit, John and his son replaced some faulty circuit breakers and wiring. He promised to return three days later to complete the capping of the fixture. We took the time to reconsider options and flip-flopped a bit, but John was completely patient and flexible with whatever we decided. He returned as promised and completed the job on time and on budget. He is a pleasant, knowledgeable electrician and his son is a fine young man. We are 100% satisfied with all aspects of the work performed and will hire John again without hesitation.

It really couldn't have gone any better. John is very experienced in everything electrical, and in particular, his knowledge of how older structures are built and wired. My house is over 100yrs old and I have lived in it for over 20 years and learned things about it from John that I didn't know. He is very honest and straightforward and makes every effort to save you money, and at the same time not cut corners. He is meticulous and precise in his approach to his work. I had read about him on Angie's list and all the good things said about him were absolutely true. He completed all the jobs as promised and I couldn't be happier with the results. I would definitely call on him again if needed and will recommend him to family and friends.

It went great. John even showed me the trick to getting this particular bulb in and out without jamming being an issue. He did not even charge me an hourly rate just for time done. Great timely service and very professional.

Explained everything that he was going to do and then finished the job quickly, cleanly and accurately. Wish more service providers were like this. John has been doing work for us for years and is one of our most trusted contractors (our roof/exterior guy is the other.) He's done rewiring of entire rooms, random overhead lights, a bath vent fan, exterior outlets, lights and power for my workbench, ceiling fans, I forget what else. John's first job for us was sometime around 2006. Everything has been perfect, no complaints, and a price more than fair.

This was the third time John has worked with me on my home. The first two times were much larger jobs, and his service was so good I didn't hesitate a single moment in giving him a call for a smaller job. The largest job he did for me was to rewire roughly one half of my third floor after a nearby summer lightning strike shorted the circuitry out. Having an older house is a challenge at times, and John upgrade the electrical wiring to current code, installed a new breaker box, and worked with me planning new light and outlet locations. It is so great to not have to walk across the room to turn on a light. One challenge John rose to was the summer heat while swimming through blown in attic insulation. Another was navigating a house that once had gas tubing laid for light fixtures. He handled the heat and insulation professionally, was prompt and on time, happy to explain any detail I wanted to know more about, patched walls, and thoroughly cleaned up afterwards.

He was very responsive and helpful. The work was done quickly and very well. It is easy to hee that it was good quality work as compared to some of the older work that had been done on the house.

This is our first time hiring this electrician, John J. Butler. He is personable and thoroughly explained the process involved to wire a new electrical water heater. While looking at the electrical panel, he noticed an overhead light required attention and he fixed same. He and the plumber worked well together. All work was performed quickly and neatly. We would hire him again.
