1-Toilet was leaking, they removed toilet and found both the reason and cause. The flange had wiggle room which resulted in the wax ring cracking and leaking. They braced the flange in place so it would not move and then replaced the wax ring. Added toilet back in and cleaned the bathroom leaving no sign. 2-Hot water stopped working and heat would start. They tested for power, fiddled with a few switches, and had it working in no time. I would definitely recommend.

Jason was great and professional, especially working with us and our schedule. We had a tricky problem with our furnace and with multiple trips, Jason was diligent and fixed the problem. Highly recommended!

The faucet in one of my ancient bathroom sinks began to leak. After searching on Angie's List for a plumber, I decided to call up the folks at Evolved Mechanical. Because I work during the week days M-F like many of us, I asked if they would be able to come before 8:00am so that I wouldn't miss too much of the work day. The rep from Evolved Mechanical asked "what time?", I said, "how about 6:00am?", he said, "no problem". I didn't expect that! Pretty awesome! I mean, this was a very small job - not something most plumbers would even want to take! On the scheduled day, one of their plumbers arrived promptly, took a look, left to pick up some special parts, and returned within 30 minutes to begin the repair. After another 30 minutes or so the faucet was fixed. The plumber who did the work was very knowledgable and took the time to explain what the problem was and what he was doing to make the repair. He was very professional too. They weren't cheap, but you get what you pay for. I'll be calling up these guys again for future work.

Jason got my AC system up an running while noting that it required additional service to be performed later. He was cheerful about coming on such short notice working on the evening of July 4th.

Called on Saturday, was told "too busy" to come that day but they scheduled an appt for the following Tuesday. No show, no call. Very unhappy...

On a day where most HVAC folks were understandably too busy to return my phone call, Jason at Evolved Mechanical took the time to not only do that, but went out of his way between jobs to stop by and inspect our furnace which had seemingly died the day before. Because it was 16 degrees and we have a two-year old daughter, we were in a tight spot and slightly panicked. The furnace had been "diagnosed" the day before as having a broken blower motor by another company. Jason somehow was able to get our furnace working in a matter of minutes and restored our heating situation - saving us thousands of dollars. He also took the time to show me the troubleshooting light indicators on our furnace and explain what they mean. He was also able to diagnose a plumbing problem we were having due to frozen pipes from the lack of heat. With a couple of simple suggestions, that problem was solved as well. In addition to doing a great job, his price was more than reasonable. I would totally recommend Evolved Mechanical to our friends and family.

Great, Jason took the time to answer my questions and my requests, he had full knowledge of the code. I have been a contractor fro over 30 years and would hire Jason and his professional crew again. A good find in the swamp of contractors!!

Our pipes had frozen in the basement, so of course, we put a heater on it, but when my husband went to open the main again to test to see if it was liquid again, the valve popped off and the water was gushing into the house. I called Evolved and spoke to Jason, who indicated someone would be over in about 20 minutes. We were waiting for the city to come shut it down in the meantime anyway, so ok, that sounds awesome. Culhill got here about 20 minutes later, as stated, and was very professional. We were still waiting for the city to show up by that point, but he did his best to contain the flow until they got here. At that point, it was quick work for him to diagnose the issue and solve it for us. Once completed, he inspected every pipe for leaks, just in case the issue was somewhere else as well. All told, their response time is exactly what I'd hope for in an emergency, the professionalism Culhill showed was wonderful, and he was really nice, patient, and thorough. He was at my house for about 2 hours, but most of that time was waiting on the jerk from the city to get his act together, so I imagine it wouldn't have taken as long or even been as costly as it was if the city was better at what they did. I would definitely use them again.

We had no water upstairs at all. After some looking around, Jason found the problem in our first floor ceiling and and took care of the issue and also helped tell my carpenter how to make sure we can maybe prevent the problem again with insulation. He also had to replace a part in the toilet which was damaged from the freezing issue. Jason also came the same day I called even though he had many other calls due to the freezing weather and I was very happy about that. Sometimes you have to end up using people you don't want in your house just to fix the problem, so I was very happy he came and had a good rating on this site which made me feel more comfortable about trying him. I would certainly use him again. He had to go into our ceiling and it was a very messy job which was cleaned up after. He and his assistant were both extremely professional and did a great job.

I sent him an email because he wanted my contact information so he could call before he came. He emailed me on Dec. 24th, asking if the services were still required and I replyed back twice, the second time requesting his services. He never returned my email. I called on Dec. 31, and as of now he still hasn't returned my call. Needless to say I wont be using him.

The work was done with my tenants hardly noticing the disruption. This is a lot to say since they keep the heat on 80 when they are home. Evolved had a full crew on site to setup the system and make sure everything was working before they cut over from the old system. That way no one had to go without heat for more than a few hours. They cleaned up after themselves every night and completed the whole job within a week. Jason is also very knowledgeable about the rebates the state / utilities offer and was able to help me qualify for $7500 of the total cost and finance the remaining balance without any interest. We are very happy with the work and the fact that a 20k job only cost us about 10k which we are paying over 7 years (at $120 a month). For the amount of money we are saving on heating that?s a great deal!

After calling several people for an unexpected leak in a steam pipe for our heating system Evolved Mechanical was thankfully able to come out that same morning to take a look at a leak we had in our steam pipe the previous evening. He arrived within 2 hours of the inital phone call and immediately was able to tell us what the issue was. We are awaiting a quote for further work, but Jason did put a clamp on the pipe so we can use our heat in the interim. Very knowledgeable and helpful - which is fantastic especially due to the short term nature of the call. Will definitely use in the future!

I called and spoke to Jason on Friday about doing some work on my gas boiler. He said he'd call me Saturday morning to let me know if / when he could come by on Saturday. I didn't hear from him Saturday morning so I called him at noon on Saturday and he said he'd call me back in an hour. I didn't hear from him again until Monday at 6pm.

I ended up not needing their services, but they were extremely helpful, responsive (they took my call at 10:30pm on a Sunday night) and professional. I will definitely consider using them for future jobs.

It went very well. I called Evolved on 7/1/13 and explained that my kitchen faucet wouldn't work, Within a half hour of my call a plumber was at my door, checked out the problem and told me I needed a new faucet and shutoff valves. The plumber explained the hourly rate for the work, plus materials and it was completed in less than an hour. The young man was courteous and left my sink area nice and clean.

National Grid was in the neighborhood doing routine inspections of the gas meters for leaks. They found a slight gas leak on a pipe that was my responsibility as the home owner. National Grid applied a temporary seal and advised that I call a plumber for a permanent fix. I found Evolved Mechanical through Angie's list that evening. I called at 8am the next morning and Jason scheduled an appointment for noon. Jason showed up at 11:45, evaluated the situation, and assured me he could fix the problem without replacing any pipes (as National Grid suggested because the pipe was resting on a National Grid pipe). Jason put a hanger on the gas line so that the pipes were no longer touching, repaired the gas c*** leak, and retested. In 45 minutes I was all set. Jason was very professional and explained everything that he did. I will definitely call Evolved Mechanical for my plumbing needs in the future. Thank You!

Excellent,; the work was done promptly, clean-up thorough, and the price very fair for the emergency repair. Will be using him exclusively for my home and condo properties in Melrose. We would highly recommend Jason and his company to anyone needing plumbing or HVAC services; don't waste you time looking elsewhere. By far the best Angies List contractor we have used, he rates an A++.

He gave a reasonable estimate and performed quality work.

The work went very satisfactorily. Not only did Jason provide the most competitive estimate for the work, he had the most intelligent and adaptive approach to it. He suggested the combined Navien condensing unit, which I found through some follow-on research to be an excellent choice. After we agreed to work with Jason, we asked for something he had never done - using the chimney flue(s) for venting rather than the usual through-the-basement-wall arrangement. I found the flexible vent system but he figured out how to make it work in our case. I also horse-traded some work I could do (wall erection for the hydronics and electrical wiring) in exchange for the extra chimney effort. Through it all Jason and hid guys were agreeable and accommodating. They got the job done quickly and tidily. They apparently take pride in their work, right down to painting the wall a signature green.

I called for an estimate on a central air compressor. They took my information said they would call back the next day, and never did.

We used this company for our heating and plumbing needs on a kitchen renovation project in the past and were pleased to work with them again. This heating system conversion project went smoothly from start to finish. We had existing natural gas service to the house but the supply line was too small and required upgrading. The company assisted me with the necessary paperwork required by the utility company to upgrade the service from the street to the house. They also helped in coordinating the work with the utility. The work included removing the existing oil fired burner, oil tank, and hot water heater; installation of a 2x4 and painted plywood wall to hang the new boiler and piping on; and of course supplying and installing the the new equipment. They were prompt, courteous, hard working, professional and took obvious and well deserved pride in their work. They were always available to answer my many questions. The work was done efficiently and thoroughly. And, though it may sound odd, it is a real pleasure to look on the results of the work. The new work is laid out efficiently, orderly, sensibly, thoughtfully, skillfully. I feel that my needs for the project were met, that my concerns were heard, and a solution was implemented that satisfied the project requirements in a timely and aesthetically pleasing way.

I recently purchased an old house (built in 1880). This house experienced many changes over the years...going from a single family to four units, then to two units. And the house went through many iterations throughout the years...some good, some not so good. When I bought the house I realized I would have to replace the old furnace with two furnaces (one for each apartment). Unfortunately I didn't realize how big of a job this would turn out to be. There were many issues, such as the convoluted duct work, not discovered by the home inspection. When i was ready to replace the furnace, I requested estimates from several HVAC mechanics. I had tenants in both units so it was important that the work was done with the least amount of disruption as possible. Due to the complexity of the job, and the difficult working conditions, most of the mechanics didn't even want to take on the job. The ones who did came with extremely high prices. The last estimate I received came from Jason at Evolved Mechanical. Jason was extremely professional and was the only person to suggest some alternatives. His price was reasonable and it was obvious that he thoroughly understood the complexity of the job and the most efficient way to get it done. Personality means a lot to me...and Jason and his crew could not have been nicer. Not only to me, but also to my tenants (and their pets). The crew showed up when they said they would. They were impeccably clean. And the installation was flawless. The furnace installations were completed before the weather was cold so it was difficult to fully test them. Jason explained that slight adjustments may be needed to ensure that all rooms heat evenly. Sure enough, after our first cold spell, my tenants called to say that some rooms were heating up faster than others. Upon hearing this, I called Jason and asked that he adjust the dampers. He was there immediately, made the adjustments, and balanced the airflow in all rooms. He even gave his number to my tenants and told them to call if further adjustments were needed. To me, its the little things like that that show the difference between good service and Great service. I HIGHLY recommend the services of Evolved Mechanical. Jason knows that I will be calling him for any future services that I may need.
