Evolved Mechanical LLC

We replaced our HVAC system that unfortunately died at the start of the summer. After getting a few different opinions and quotes, we selected Evolved Mechanical. I wish I had called them first since we already had done some very expensive repairs that didn't work. They were not the cheapest or the most expensive option, but Jason seems refreshingly honest and willing to work with his customers. We went through MassSave to get a home loan and they were helpful with that whole process and started the job the day after we got the loan approved. The team was prompt and professional. So far, the new system is great and I will definitely use them again/recommend for future projects.

The entire project went better than expected

Extremely professional: Was able to schedule on-line and the plumber (Cathal) arrived exactly on time. When it was clear that the original piping was not suitable for the new sink, went out and bought a piece that fit snugly. Explained everything that he was going to do, but did not waste time. Was extremely competent and pleasant -- a very positive experience!!!

I was contacted only a couple of hours after my email inquiry and added to the schedule for only a couple of hours after that. Really quick & responsive. Jason took the time to inspect the unit and the electrical panel. It turned out to only be a tripped circuit (which I had apparently not noticed when I looked), but he did say that the circuit probably tripped because the unit was having to work harder due to age and lack of maintenance over the years. He recommended some cleaning procedures we could do ourselves or that we could call them in for (which we plan to do, since the unit hasn't even been looked at in 10+ years). Very friendly guy, thorough, and willing to tell us how to save a few bucks by doing some things ourselves.

I contacted Evolved Mechanical on a Tuesday afternoon via email. Within 15 minutes, I had a response and an appointment for 7:30 a.m. the next day to have them come out and look at some potential plumbing issues. Jason was on time, professional and courteous. He was honest in his evaluation and told me that the work recommended by the home inspector was not necessary (first time home buyer). And, he didn't charge me for his time even though we do not need the work done and he made the early morning trip to provide an estimate. I cannot comment on "quality" because we don't need the work done, but from Jason's professional nature I'm sure it would be top notch. I will definitely be calling Evolved Mechanical for future plumbing needs.

We had a GREAT experience with this company! Jason, from the outset, was very responsive and easy to communicate with. He came out to our address to discuss the work and gave us a very reasonable price. He helped with paperwork for the MASS SAVE program which we used to finance the the work. Once our loan was approved, they had a team on-site the very next day! Everything was seamless and they even did the work in two stages, allowing us to use our friend for the required new electrical work for the new A/C system. The new system works great, we will definitely use them in the future.

What can I say? I just texted Jason (10:48 AM 3/4/16) to help me change out an electric range and replace a down draft hood and he immediately (10:49 AM 3/4/16) responded with an affirmative. This is our "Go-to team" for all things HVAC, Plumbing, etc. They are very prompt, courteous They take off their shoes in the house or put down cardboard if needed, they clean up after themselves, they take the time to explain things and make sure you are comfortable. They are trustworthy, I've given Jason keys to my house! It's nice to find excellent people like Jason and his team and it's great to find them right here in Melrose.

It turns out that it's a much bigger job, one that requires a contractor, but he was so wonderful to deal with and so honest and helpful and I'm looking forward to working with him on the future. From scheduling to show up (less than 24 hours-miracle!), and he was extremely professional. He also dealt with my tenant, and she was disappointed that we wouldn't be working with him immediately. As a property owner, how people interact with my tenants is always a concern. Not here! Honestly finding him was a relief after some unfortunate experiences.

When we bought our house, our central air wasn't running properly. Originally had a different company come in to repair the A/C. Spent a lot of money to get it running during a heat wave, but after 'fixing' the A/C said there was an issue with the heating that they didn't know how to fix. Basically, our system spewed heat while the A/C was running. We were able to get around the issue by flipping the fuse to the boiler. We could get A/C but no hot water at the same time. Not ideal with a baby, but we managed. A year later, I hired Jason to look at our system. Apparently, before we bought our house our system was installed poorly. It took multiple visits, but everything seems to be up and running properly. He went out of his way to help us, and even came out on Thanksgiving when we lost our hot water with 13 house guests. Will definitely use this provider for issues in the future.

Due to the extreme cold, we were concerned about leaving the pipe frozen during the night. Jason came out on Sunday night, and fixed the problem. He was responsive, professional, and got the job done efficiently. We would definitely recommend Evolved Mechanical.

Jason and his team are great. I believe they were the best though their price was not the lowest. Highly recommended.

Never showed up to his appointment, didn't call.

Jason and his team were great to work with. They helped assist us with getting a 0% loan with mass save and getting rebates. We just bought a home and didn't expect us to be able to convert to gas so quickly and easily. They worked with my time line, and were very knowledgable and professional. I'd definitely use them again! And recommend them to my friends.

Jason and his team responded immediately to my call for service during the last heatwave. We have an HVAC unit from 2001 and the last person we had take a look at it said there was most likely a leak - we would only be able to refill the Freon and hope it lasted us a little while, or replace the entire system. Jason told me they'd be able to come out the very next day, at 7:30 am, and my doorbell rang that morning at 7:28. Two technicians went through an extremely thorough diagnostics process, checking every part of the system for leaks and running pressure tests to see if there could be another reason the AC wasn't cooling properly. They were at the house for about three hours; this made the price higher than I had anticipated, but the thousands we saved by not having to replace a system that actually didn't need replacing, and having working AC that same day was 100% worth the cost. Additionally, I got a detailed electronic invoice broken out with labor, scope and material costs, and an option to pay through a customer portal by credit card. That, to me, makes these guys stand out among the many who just throw out numbers knowing you'll pay it out of convenience and/or ignorance. The only thing they found that was causing the problem was a misaligned valve (from the last guy putting it back on incorrectly after "recharging" the unit), and the COMPLETE LACK of Freon in the system. It took them over half an hour to fill it up, checking the pressure as they went - it only took the last guy about 10 minutes start to finish to do a recharge, which tells me he really didn't do anything except take me for a ride. When they were done, they assured me I would be all set, and if for some reason I wasn't, I was instructed to immediately call them and they would come back out asap. Next Day: No Cool Air. I was super bummed, and left Jason a message. He called me back an hour later, and came out at almost 8pm that evening to check it out. Considering the fact that the company starts its day as early as 7am, that was another "above & beyond" gesture for me. He checked everything again thoroughly, and came to the conclusion that the A-frame in the unit was clogged, causing the system to back up and freeze the condenser. He offered to clean it for us, but also gave us instructions on how to do it ourselves so we could save the money on labor costs - he also gave me the can of spray foam from his truck so I wouldn't have to go out and buy it myself. THEN he emailed me a few days later to see if we made out okay or needed anything else. Bottom line, I can't speak enough praises about the guys at Evolved Mechanical. They were responsive, reliable, thorough, and all-around wonderful to work with. If cost is a big issue for you, ask for estimates first or see what they can work out with the budget you have, but PLEASE remember that you get what you pay for - it shouldn't take getting scammed by someone else to realize that great work done by true professionals is hard to find, and worth every penny in the long run. I'll definitely be contacting them as soon as we're ready to replace the old system!

Jason and his team could not be more friendly and efficient. I needed a system installed and had several quotes. One quote was for one room only, and it came in about the same as Jason's work for both upstairs rooms. Jason really took his time when he assessed my needs and gave me a better suggestion than prior technicians who wanted to mount a loud and unsightly unit to my wall. He was able to place the unit in a crawlspace and duct the unit in a seamless manner that did not cause any unsightly issues in the house. I felt comfortable leaving the technicians to do their work without me being present and they treated my home like their own. Jason checked up on me once installed to make sure it was working well, and when I had a problem with my older unit he came to see immediately. He checked up on that service as well. It was important to have the unit installed in a quick timeframe. I called Jason the first week of June with the need for installation BEFORE July 1st because I was having surgery and would be in bed for weeks thereafter. Thus, I wanted a cooler bedroom upstairs and did not have the ability to accommodate any workers during that time. He found me the unit and had it installed the week before my surgery with just some finishing touches a couple days before. He and his crew were great. The system is working fantastic and my recovery was better because of Jason and his crew. I would (and will) call them anytime for any AC/Heat or plumbing needs. They are simply fantastic guys.

I am very pleased with the results. The unit installed is sleek, efficient, and much more aesthetically pleasing than what I had before. My house is a bit of a challenge, so some alternatives had to be evaluated, and Jason provided any necessary information quickly and professionally. The time between first contact and and final installation was about a week, with the installation taking less than a day. The installation crew was professional, neat, and super nice. Jason wasn't the cheapest quote I got, but I had a good feeling about him from the first meeting. After all was said and done, he left me a binder with my instructions, warranty information, and even a pre-filled rebate form. A class act.

He was great--got everything up and running quickly, cam e back the next day at regular (rather than emergency rate) to do some additional work. Stand up guy, great service.

Owner, Jason, and his team were wonderful to work with from start to finish. Fair pricing and they made us aware of rebate incentives we could take advantage of. They were able to start the project promptly and quickly complet it with minimal inconvenience. The guys were extremely respectful, efficient, knowledgeable and skilled. They also left the space immaculate at the of the project. Could not recommend this company enough.

My wife and I very much enjoyed working with Jason. We had a very large job for Jason, and it all came out beautifully. After our initial meeting with Jason, he promptly gave us a fair and reasonable estimate and fit us into his schedule within a couple of days, which was - to say the least - amazing. The materials and quality of work were excellent and highly professional. This was, again, a large project and there were a couple of times throughout the workdays when we had differences of opinion. Jason was always open to our different viewpoints, and was willing to work with us until we were satisfied with the end results (even if he didn't agree with us). Jason was also easy to communicate with via email and phone. He always responded within 24hrs. When we wanted him present to talk over the project with his workers to make sure everyone was on the same page, he was there. Lastly, I would like to point out that Jason came over our house ON THANKSGIVING to fix some minor heating issues that developed during the ductwork installation. We told Jason that we could manage with space heaters and he didn't need to come over during the holiday and spoil his vacation time, but he did anyway. Much appreciated. Quality guy.

I was extremely satisfied with the work performed, the work was high quality and they were in and out in a very short period of time. When the guys came in they were very orderly (had built much of the system in their shop before arriving) and left no mess behind at the end of the day. They disposed of all the old equipment for me as well after it was removed. They also made all arrangements for a subcontractor to come in and remove the old oil tank. The contracts written were comprehensive and left nothing in question. Jason, the owner, also helped out a great deal with the requirements for the heat loan through MA Energy. Jason was very easy to work with, I have already recommended their work to a few of my friends. With regard to billing they have a system where invoices can be mailed to you and can be paid online which also proved very convenient. After the work was completed I had a few questions weeks later and even though the job was done they were very quick to respond and come over to help out. There were a few contact problems in the middle of the job but believe that was more a matter of my phone not working properly than an issue on their part. The only issues I had was the original schedule was not exactly when I would have liked to start the project. Because they were busy I had to agree to their time frame which was a tad inconvenient as I wasn't quite ready to start the project ( I did not have all the funding yet secured). I guess the better help is busier so I rearranged things and everything worked out fine.

Evolved Mechanical (Jason) was great to work with. He bid on the job in August expecting the work for September. With the gas company delaying the installation of the gas line from the street, the work was pushed back until the end of November. Jason was extremely accommodating. He and his team were at the house the day after the gas company. Jason and his crew did an excellent job. The system is running phenomenally. The quality and care of the work is very evident. Equipment, wires, and pipes look like they were installed with a thought process and not just thrown together. After the installation was complete, Jason came over one night to walk us through the system, any required maintenance, and questions we had. We couldn't be happier with Jason and his crew. I have already used him for separate plumbing repair. I would recommend him and his crew to any and everyone.

We wanted to move our laundry area from the basement to the first-floor kitchen. I called several plumbers for estimates; a number did not respond. Three actually showed up to do an estimate, but Jason (Evolved Mechanical) was the most responsive and most professional. He came over on a Saturday for the initial estimate and returned another day to talk to our carpenter/contractor. It was a fairly complex job because of the arrangement of the water pipes. His men showed up as scheduled and worked for two days to complete the job. Jason came the first day to get things set up, and returned to keep track of what was going on (though he was not present the whole time). The men who did the work were courteous and clean. Then, on the day when the washer and dryer were actually delivered, I called Jason as the truck pulled up with the appliances and the men were here within an hour and a half to do the final installation of the appliances. The only frustrating thing is that the ice maker has not worked properly since the move. Jason came over with one of his men to look at it a few days after the installation and confirm that the water line was properly hooked up and turned on, so I don't think it is the fault of the plumbing work.

Jason showed up at my house on time, Jason started to troubleshoot why the furnace was no running and knew what was wormy with it within 10min of being on site, I was thinking this was going to be a whole ordeal but Jason asked If I was comfortable of making some minor changes myself and I said Yes and saves me money in the long run, Jason was very knowledgeable and straightforward -----That kind of service will keep me a loyal customer. I would recommend this Evolved Maechanical to anyone and will be using them in the future Thank you Jason

All work was completed as described on time and to our satisfaction. The owner (Jason) has been back twice to check on the system and to add anti-vibration mounts to the lower air handler (not that I asked but he noticed a little vibration we didn?t even notice.) These guys are PROS no doubt. I?d recommend them to anyone seeking a very professional, reliable crew who is neat and tidy while being very conscious of our family being in the house while they were here. Example: One of the crew noticed that the lock on the door to one of the bathrooms he?d recently used wasn?t functioning properly. He asked me if that was something I?d noticed (it wasn?t) he promptly ran out and bought a replacement lock and installed it that day. That?s the kind of people you want working in your house!!!
