Both service experiences were excellent.

We had a great experience with Evolved Mechanical. We were able to get an appointment to replace our hot water heater and inspect/clean our heating system within 1 week of calling. Cathal was our service technician--very pleasant and professional. We currently don't have easy outside access through our basement door, which meant Cathal had to go above and beyond the normal routine and haul the water heaters up & down our basement stairs (again, sorry about that!). The new hot water heater is fantastic, our heating system is ready for winter, and we really appreciate Cathal's extra effort!

We live in an old house with "interesting" problems. Cathal is consistently a half an hour early, amazingly professional, aware he is making a mess and tries to keep the rugs and furniture out of the way and he is a wizard. I finally have a plumber. Bring it on old pipes...

My initial hopes for this company were high. Well rated, and they got me an appt for the estimate visit pretty quickly. Jason showed early on 6/2 for the walk-thru (not actually a plus, but not a major minus). I gave him comprehensive floorplans (w/ floor & window dimensions, + room hts), so the load calculations would be even easier for him to run. We then spent about 1.5 hours going through both floors, attic, and bsmt, as well as around the outside. We discussed options, and settled on mini-splits. He left with all my contact info and a promise to get me an estimate shortly for this job. So far so good. At this point I had no negative impressions. The lack of ability to actually *get* the estimate is what earned the poor rating. The visit was 6/2. As of 6/13, I had no estimate. I left a message for Jason on his cell - no reply. Called the main office 6/15 and was told that Jason was out of town for a couple of days but they would make sure he got the estimate to me by no later than the beginning of the following week. That never happened. 6/26 I called the office again, and got their VM. I left a detailed message with all my info, asking for *someone* to get back to me with either the estimate or some reason why they couldn't provide one. As of 6/29 when I'm writing this, noone has... For reference, between the time Jason came (6/2) and the last contact attempt I made to Evolved (6/26), 2 other well-rated companies I had found on Angie's had come to spec out the same job. Both had gotten me comprehensive estimates in under a week.

Excellent. We hired Evolved (Cathal Talbot) on several occasions after buying a new home, and he was extremely professional. We would absolutely hire again and plan to do so.

Cathal was top of the line in terms of promptness, professionalism, courtesy, and competence. He was the best. Would and will definitely use again. Though, hopefully I don't have to.

I can't thank Jason Moriarty and his staff enough. I finally bit the bullet and purchased the ductless AC system after suffering with the noise and inconvenience of the window units. Jason told me about the MASS SAVE interest free loan program and rebate program which helped tremendously. Jason is a true professional as is his staff. Jason and staff worked tirelessly during a heat wave and got the system up and running as promised. Jason is truly a master of his craft and educated us on the sophistication of this system. Plus his office staff is there to assist you on completing all steps with MASS SAVE loan and rebate processes and so peasant. I can't say enough. Evolved Mechanical was my first choice and the best choice.

Ask to check on a water heater To provide a quote on possible replacement , received two quotes, but decide to hire some body else because of price difference , the next thing I received was a bill for $ 220 for diagnostics , I refused to paid because when I call they did not mention fees for diagnostics and quotes

The installation last September of a 4 ton Mitsubishi heat pump (whole house air conditioner) is the second major job we had Evolved Mechanical do for us. The first was putting in an ultra-high efficiency Navien heating/hot water system 6 years ago. In both cases Evolved Mechanical suggested more advanced approaches to our needs than other contractors (who were also well rated on Angie's List) that were nonetheless the least expensive options for us. This seems to stem from Jason M. being a clever lad, coming up with engineering solutions that others wouldn't have worked out. The MHI system we got uses both a "mini split"-type indoor unit downstairs and an air handler for the upstairs. This gives us ducts in all 6 upstairs rooms and the hallway and replaces a failed, unfixable 10-year-old Bryant mini split that was cooling the downstairs. One 4-ton compressor outside, sitting in the same footprint as the old 1-ton unit. The extensive work was done without needing any follow-up contracting to clean up the usual messes. Tidy work. We highly recommend these guys.

The estimate appointment on 4/26 was quick and easy. One week later I emailed the office to ask if the estimate was ready. I didn't get a response. I called the office a week later and then a week after that. Both times I was told that they were very busy, but that the quote was "nearly done". On 5/22 I finallly got an email from them saying that they could not provide my quote due to unforeseen circumstances and time constraints on an existing job. I was waiting on this quote so that I could make a decision between two companies. They wasted weeks of my time. I would have appreciated a quicker response if they were unwilling or unable to provide the quote.

The work was quick and professional. I've hired them before to do similar work. They explain what is being done, problems I'm likely to encounter and ways to mitigate it.

Scheduled an appointment, nobody showed up, no phone call to reschedule.

It went well for the time being. A few days after the visit, the problem resurfaced and Jason provided possible solutions and recommendations.

I emailed to get an estimate and they responded within the hour. When the technician arrived, he was ready to do the work. We decided just to go ahead that day as the time was good for us. He was friendly, patient, and thorough. He left the sink area cleaner than when he started. We have had no problems whatsoever.

Jason from Evolved Mechanical has since provided an estimate for my kitchen/bath renovation. I'm very happy and will almost certainly hire them for the job. They are always pleasant to interact with and the quality of their work is consistently first-rate.

They were very professional and punctual. Jason was very knowledgeable in how the water heater works and was able to troubleshoot the electrical side as well. I was concerned that I may have to bring in an electrician but Jason found the problem. Very easy to work with and made the whole experience very pleasant.

I was really worried, but he did a great job of finding the leak with as little wall damage as possible. He clearly identified and explained everything along the way. He also replaced the flapper for a toilet and unclogged a seemingly permanently slow drain that I had tried everything for. It took about 4 1/2 hours total. I was very happy with the service. The only mistake we BOTH made was not discussing price, nor getting an estimate beforehand. I had told them I found them via Angie's List, but I wasn't using a coupon. I had expected it to be around the same price as others, but without the average discount. It turned out to be a lot more than I expected. But, thankfully, after a very brief and understanding conversation with the owner, we were able to resolve the matter at a price we both agreed was faireally. Obviously, we both agreed that we should have, and will make sure to have, settled on hourly rate before the next job. I would definitely recommend and use them again.

Fantastic! Jason was super helpful. Explained everything to us. Reviewed the whole system and didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need. When we add heat to our basement or if we need any other heating related work done we'll definitely call Evolved! Great experience!

I cannot say enough positive things about Jason and Evolved Mechanical. Everyone knows how frustrating a dysfunctional HVAC system can be, and over the past 5 years my husband and I have had terrible experiences with every technician we have worked with. Really expensive bills with no positive results. Jason is the most adept technician I have ever witnessed. I honestly think he is a machine whisperer... when everyone said our system could not be salvaged, he found a way to make it work. He is friendly, focused, honest, and thoughtful - and most of all, TRUSTWORTHY. He is not one of those clueless technicians that throws in the towel and tells you "buy a new system" because they can't figure it out. I hope he never leaves Boston, because I want him on call for as long as we live here!

Very well. I was under pressure to get this done quickly. Jason came out promptly for the estimate and scheduled the work for the following week. Jason, Jen, Monica, Kristin and the entire staff have been helpful and professional the whole time. Plumbers were professional, organized and extremely competent.

Professional, perfectionist and pleasant. These are words I would use to describe this company. Jason is exceptional in his work and his two assistants were great. They did a terrific job and were extremely neat. They made sure everything was perfect. If I ever need such services again, they would be the first I would call.

Very good. They explained the issues, and made sure it was working, even coming back again after an issue.
