I decided not to do the job at this time.

For a company who has received multiple successive Angie's list Super Service awards, this is inexcusable. I followed up on my e-mail on at least three occasions via messages left with the answering service, requests to receive a callback etc. I have still not heard anything back. Their website states "We take pride in delivering prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable service to our customers." I take umbrage to that statement.

I called looking for a quote in a few small jobs around the house and they never called me back.

Every thing he found and did was explained to me before it was done. Very professional and would definitely use this plumbing service again.

Price was right on but went with an unemployed relative to perform the work. The owner (Shawn) was very punctual in coming out and explaining in detail the work he was going to do. He quoted the job in a timely manner and spoke with us a couple of times about different options, etc. I highly recommend them for any plumbing work. Seems to be an honest, hard working businessman.

Before that he fixed our furnace which had broken and did some other work. The cost was a few hundred as opposed to several thousand which was the estimate from the gas company.

I thought I had a leak that was dripping from my first floor somewhere into the basement. It turns out my garbage disposal was bad and was leaking into my sink and down into the basement. I researched plumbing through angie's and found Peabody Plumbing had great reviews. They came out the next day and were a great help finding the leak and replacing the disposal on the same day, I would definitely use them again for any plumbing problem.

They showed up after two telephone calls. The first thing that he did was replace a cartridge on the kitchen faucet, which stopped the leaking but the handles were put on improperly (one handle turns 180 degrees and one turns 90 degrees.) One of toilet's flappers was replaced; the toilet is still having the same issue as before but the water doesn't fill up after a flush. He didn't have the flappers in the truck my toilet needed so he had to leave for couple of hours to get those. I had a candle display in the bathroom that got knocked over and they just tried to put it back the way it was instead of letting me know- which would have been a nice courtesy. The biggest dissapointment was that he wouldn't give me an itemized bill for the services he performed- which left me confused as to where he got the price he gave me. I was pretty disapointed with this experience.

My biggest complaint about this company is that they are awful at returning my calls and making appointments in a timely manner. I called on a Saturday during their hours and didn't get a call back until Monday. I was informed that the person on the phone didn't have his planner with him so I should call the office to make an appointment. I did that, but didn't receive a phone call that day. I called the next day and the woman who answered didn't have the owner's plan book. She said that she'd have the owner call me. I had to call back again the next day before I was able to get an appointment. I had to call the office the day of my appointment because no one had arrived and it was over an hour after my scheduled time. I understand plumbers are busy and often get emergency jobs that they have to go to, but I would have appreciated a phone call informing me that they were just running late. It was time out of my day that I was missing too. Two men arrived and were very polite and diagnosed the problem. I was quoted at a price that I later realized was high. I tried to schedule a return visit to fix the plumbing issue but didn't get a call back for two days. I decided to cancel services with them due to not being able to actually make an appointment when I would call. I tried to call to cancel services. I received a phone call almost a week later from the company verifying that I wanted to cancel services. The woman on the phone was very rude and demanded that I pay them for their services as soon as possible (I had not yet received the bill). They had no problem sending me the bill in a timely fashion.

The men were very pleasant, professional and prompt. They were able to diagnose the problem fast, and fix it very quickly. They told us what caused the problem and gave some advice for future reference. Great job.

Called Peabody this morning, and by 1pm, I had a new garbage disposal.......you can't get any better than that!

Quick response, worked quietly and efficiently. Highly recommend.

Mr. Peabody answered my call promptly, set up the appointment a couple of days later, arrived when he said he would, installed the faucet, cleaned up, and everyone was happy. Thanks.

If I could give three thumbs up I would...but I will raise my two thumbs very high up for their prompt professional service. We had a pipe to our water pump that was leaking. Shawn stated he would stop by in the afternoon. Before going to a previously scheduled appointment he called since he was in the neighborhood to check out the leak. He made sure that my situation was in control before leaving and said he would be back with some parts. As promised he returned and repaired the leak in a prompt and courteous manner Peabody Plumbing and Heating should have three P's ....for pleasant, prompt, and professional. I would absolutely without a doubt refer Peabody to friends and family.

Shawn and his son are professional and kind. The work was done to our satisfaction. Communication was easy and the timing was clear and accurate. I feel comfortable using Shawn at my home, and I have asked for an estimate at my place of business, as well.

It took three calls to get him there, but given the reviews we'd read, we kept trying. He is good at what he does, so we will try again and hope he is more responsive this time. It might have been a particularly busy time of year.

Shawn is very personable. He gave me the details and options I needed to know to make informed decisions about the work he was to do. When it was done, he was able to explain what he did and why. He also pointed out another unrelated problem and told me how I could fix it.

They came (a little late, but they did call to let me know) and hooked up the stove, but they were gruff, made a bit of a mess, and charged a high price. They also quoted me for some other work which I later had done by another plumber for less money.

They showed up when they said they would. Very pleasant and helpful with suggestions. Price seemed a little high but it's hard to compare as I haven't had any plumbing work done on the house in quite a few years.

I called this plumber a month or so ago and never got a response from him so I thought he was just very busy. I kept calling and he finally came to the house a good week after the initial call. Last month I called for an emergency and never got a response from him. A wekk ago I called for another emergency and yet again - never received a call from him. All three calls were for the same thing, mind you. I ended up tackling the problem myself only to find that when he was at the house the first time he put an oversized rubber gasket to replace the bad one. the replacement was curled in upon its to fit and this called a worse leak than what I initially began with. Never again will I call this plumber nor will I recommend him to anyone that asks.

Overall my dealings with Peabody Plumbing was above average.

Pretty simple job but I wanted it done well because I had just put a new base in the cabinet to replace the one the water leak had ruined.

I called with a very clogged toilet. It had been clogging, then clearing for several days, then clogging again. When Shawn Peabody of Peabody Plumbing came, the toilet was cleared again. He used an 8 ft drain / sewer snake, came up with nothing, flushed the toilet several times, and declared it cleared and clog free. 4 days later, toilet clogged again, the same way it had previously. I eventually cleared it with a plunger, and thought that it was just a one time thing. 2 days after that, toilet clogged severely again, where I couldn't plunge it. I called Peabody Plumbing, and Shawn stated that he'd be happy to come out, even that day, but that he would charge me again. I questioned him, since he obviously had not eliminated the problem the first time round, or even investigated it very thoroughly, why I should pay him again. He stated that because it had been flushing for several days, it must have been something we did that caused this recent problem. Since this had been the pattern with the toilet, that I reported to him when I first called, this explanation made no sense. He responded that since I knew so much about plumbing, perhaps he might find time to fit me in the next week or so. Since he hadn't fixed the problem in the first place, it made no sense to pay him again- to do the same thing. In terms of price, if the work had been completed correctly, it was a fair price. For the work that was actually accomplished, it was not a fair or reasonable price. In terms of professionalism, Shawn's behavior on 1st visit was professional. His response to my call stating that the work needed to be redone/corrected, was completely unprofessional, so I had to rate on overall experience. Regarding responsiveness, he did respond quickly the first time. The second response by phone was within a reasonable time, but not actually responsive to the need.
