Basnett Plumbing, Heating & AC

I recently had a new heat pump and air handler system installed which included adding a zone to our basement. While heating and cooling got much better there were still hot / cold issues. I was pretty sure the issues were with the ductwork but it wasn't until I found Basnett that I found a company who spoke duct work language! I had spent 3 years on my own researching and trying to understand the issues. Basnett came in with the tools and knowledge to assess and fix the issues, some of which I was right about and others where I was dead wrong. They were very thorough and everything they did had real data behind it. They recommend changes to address a very high static pressure which was causing my air handler to back off rather than deliver the full capabilities of the new system. They did a Manual D calculation to validate and fix the ducts. With the new changes in place no more hot or cold zones. Air flow is fixed and more importantly our bills are down 10% for equivalent temperatures as compared to last year. Ductwork is very important with today's modern air handling equipment. I am very happy with the folks at Basnett and their understanding that the two go together.

I called Basnett and they were very busy and schedule was booked. I really needed someone to come out and take a look because of the strong odor present. The very kind receptionist, Nancy, found a way to fit in my request. Kevin and Sergio were sent out and they took care of the problem. They are so nice and easy to work with...explain everything they are going to do. Professional and personable. I will definitely call Basnett in the future. I have a service plan with them, which helped me out with today's cost. Kevin and Sergio have been to my house twice for different issues and both experiences were great! Problem diagnosed and fixed in a timely manner.

Installed a Mitsubishi mini split heat pump system. It cool's and heats a single rooms or a whole home using ductless technology. Great job by everyone that works for Basnett Plumbing, Heating & AC.

This is a tough review to write as I liked the guy who did the installation. He seemed nice and polite. However, given the fact they could have killed my family if my carbon monoxide detectors had malfunctioned or my dog had we not been home I feel like I need to write this review. Basnett replaced both my furnace and central air conditioning unit. They asked we not use the furnace as they had not done the safety check on the unit and they would be back next week to do that. More than a week later I called them to ask them to perform the test. They indicated they wanted to wait until the Fall but as it was a cold June I insisted they come out now. The night before they came I had a wood fire going as it was too cold in the house. The furnace room filled with the smell of wood smoke which it had never done before. We reported this the the technician. He dismissed it. He then indicated the furnace was safe to use and left. 30 minutes later two different carbon monoxide detectors went off in the house. I opened all the windows and doors and vacated the property. I called Basnett who said they would send someone right over (their office is 10 minutes from my house). 30 minutes later no Basnett and when I reset the Detectors they went off again. I called the fire department who came out to monitor the levels in the house. They indicated there were still elevated levels of Carbon Monoxide in the basement but the rest of the house was fine. They indicated they felt the furnace was not properly venting. They also indicated I would fail the inspection as the necessary safety paperwork was not attached to the new furnace. That Basnett should have left it there. The fire department leaves and I am still waiting on Basnett. The young man shows back up - works on the furnace. He indicates he can?t find anything wrong but that the flue door was open when he got there. So either he left it open during his inspection or the fireman did during their inspection because no one in my family went into the room. Either way he sealed the flue door with tape, ran the furnace again and said everything was fine and left. The next day ? no call from the owner to apologize. No reassurance that my home is now safe. Come fall I guess I will find out. I did add additional Carbon Monoxide Detectors to my home. I do know if the alarms had gone off later that evening my dog would have been locked in the basement alone with the furnace exhaust. UPDATE: After writing the review the owner of the company did call and speak with me at length. They will be coming back out in the fall to run a complete test of the system before we start actively using it. He was very helpful during the conversation and was unaware of the problem prior to my review as they work numerous jobs at the same time.

Got to know that the bathroom vent fans were not facing in the right direction, Basnett guy came over and fixed it.

Basnett performed two jobs for us in November 2014. One was a steam boiler cleaning and motor maintenance (team lead by Wayne) which which was done thoroughly (worth the price) and really seems to have improved the efficiency of the heating. This same team also diagnosed a faulty thermostat and sold us a superior (although expensive) model as a replacement. The second job was the somewhat complex installation of a tankless water heater (team led by the highly experienced Paul) which involved the four skills of carpentry, gas pipefitting, water plumbing and electrical installation. The work seems to have been done carefully and accurately. Basnett seeks a high standard of service: its office people communicate efficiently by phone and e-mail, and the craftsmen on site respond to all questions in person, keep at the tasks steadily and clean up nicely afterwards. We were impressed that the written estimate on the water heater installation was compiled in careful formal detail after a visit by an assessing plumber who measured, judged and listed everything precisely and answered all our questions about the technology; actually Basnett's quote on that particular job was lower than proposals by some other plumbing outfits. (For the more complicated projects it really seems necessary to shop around.) Our experience was that this company is to be solidly recommended, although in some cases may be pricy compared to others.

They were very responsive. This was not a straightforward project and they were very responsive because we had to change the project around. They were really good.

Scheduling was easy, the two technicians were on time, booted themselves up to walk through the house, and laid down floor mats where they worked and where they entered the house. The work was done in a timely manner and looks professional. The noisy check valve we had is replaced with one that doesn't make a noise when it shuts after our ejector pump runs. The technicians went over the invoice, explained the warranty, and were gone. Very professional experience (and I worked my way through college as a plumber).

I have used Basnett several times before (and may have reviewed them before). They show up on time and they fix the problem. I don't know how the price compares with others, but it seems reasonable to me for the service provided. In this case, our A/C unit stopped working right in the middle of a heat wave. The technician (sorry - don't remember the name) took a look and found that a mouse had gotten in and done the damage. They replaced the part and it's worked just fine ever since.

They were very good. They were punctual and they were professional. They were clean and everything was working really well. I would recommend them. They have worked in all the houses around here, you know, across the street.

Banett Plumbing Heating and AC was very professional and clean) from the initial consultation to the final day of installation. The people in their office were aklways available, always very helpful, and even assisted me with all the paperwork for rebates and the MASSSAVE loan. I received three quotes for my project, all were withign $500 of eachother. Basnett Plumbing (Rob Basnett) was the only contractor of the three who took the time to provide solutions to some air flow issues my system had. I would highly recomend Basnett Plumbing and will use them for any future projects I might have.

They are friendly, professional and responsive. We have used them on numerous occasions and recommend them to anyone.

The appointment was scheduled for 1:00 PM, they arrived several minutes early. The technicians were very professional. I went over the systems to be service. They explained everything they were going to do. They were very neat. They did a great job, I would recommend them highly.

They arrived on time which was great given that my new appliances were scheduled to be delivered later that day. They planned to make 2 trips. The first to disconnect 2 of my old appliances so they could be hauled away by the delivery company, and the second to re-connect the 2 new ones. I was quoted a price of around $800 for the job!! I couldn't believe it but I was stuck between a rock and a hard place given that the delivery company was coming in a couple hours with the new appliances. Also, given that I did not want to touch the gas myself (nor am I allowed to by law) I had to go ahead with the work. They did the job as described and it took them less than two hours to do both jobs. I was blown away that they had the audacity to charge me so much for such a simple job. I would never recommend or use them again solely due to their outrageous prices. Other than that, the work was done quickly and they were very professional.

It did not go well. Charging $93 for an estimate is not good business.

Prompt and courteous (wore shoe covers), he first evaluated all work to be done and presented price and options before doing any work. The kitchen facet was particular involved as the entire facet had to be disassembled and rebuilt with a new hose assembly. Everything was done with high quality parts, better than what was being replaced. Very pleased with all work completed and no more leaks.

These guys installed the home heating system in our house for the previous. We've been using them since for maintenance and recently had to call them to repair a leaking water drain valve. They are always on-time and friendly. They even wear little slippers as they go through your house. They are more expensive than other local companies, but their experience and professionalism makes it worth the extra few dollars.

They were very good. They were very professional. They have a market price. I had no problems with them.

The experience wasn't too bad. They did what they said they were going to do in the time frame they said. I do most work myself. I haven't had a need to call them back before everything is still working. They showed up when they said and their price didn't change. Their prices were reasonable.

They were outstanding. Everything was perfect. We had other plumbers come out who couldn't figure out what the problem was and they figured it out. They were very efficient and effective in what they did. We are going to use them forever. It was really inexpensive. They were professional. The clear expertise of the plumber and his ability to problem solve stood out. He used resources when he wasn't sure what parts were needed. He called his office and took care of everything. We had 2 other plumbers come out that were not able to repair the leak and they gave us faulty information. They didn't have the clear expertise of Basnett. We have referred them to other family members. They are the other plumbers we will use.

It was wonderful. It was outstanding. It was a huge job. They did everything on schedule. They were clean and they left the place clear. They were considerate. It was so carefully done. They even put down the kind of doorknobs they would be using on the doors. It was beautifully presented. There was a time schedule. Every single thing was documented in the estimate. They were very nice. I just can't say enough about them. I would absolutely use them again.

Called for emergency service mid morning and tech arrived mid afternoon the same day even though I am not a regular customer. High efficiency boilers require a much higher level of technician and the tech was more than up to the task. Came prepared with spare parts he thought might be needed for my model boiler and had the boiler repaired within an hour. I am in the HVAC commercial contractor business and know when tech's know their job. This tech was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and efficient. They are now going to be my first choice for boiler service.

We had Basnett come out to replace our existing tub with a shower stall with glass doors. While they were not the rock bottom cheapest estimate we got, they were on the lower end of the price range, and we have used them numerous times before and been very happy. They came out and did an initial evaluation, submitted an estimate via email, and then worked with me on exact details. They tore out the old bathtub and surround and replaced it with a new shower stall, glass door, and finished the necessary plaster patching. Their communication was great, the 2 crews who came out were polite, professional and cleaned up after themselves, and we are very happy with our new shower. Highly recommend Basnett. In the past they have installed a tankless hot water heater, installed our gas stove, and fixed various leaks and problems. I've always been 100% happy with the response time and the work.
