+ -1 moreI called Erik and he got back to me right away. He took the time to explain to me in detail what the project involved, including the materials to be used and the time it takes to do the job. His foreman came out and looked at the job and a few days later I received the estimate. The price was good (about the middle of the pack) and his reviews were great so he got the job. The crew started on time, cleaned up after they were done and the job looks great. Erik is easy to work with, easy to get in touch with, and pays attention to detail. He went way out of his way to find the exact match cap shingles which are usually special order. Now that's customer service! I would definitely hire EAW again in the future.
Description of Work: Job Description: Strip rolled roofing and dispose of waste on Cape shed dormer. Apply .060 TPO membrane material and 1" ISO board to roof. Add drip edges on three sides, install two vent pipe flanges and replace ridge vent and cap shingles as needed.

Description of Work: I called EAW roofing because of other recommendations and because of his proximity to the house. The quote was extremely high in my opinion so I got two other estimates both of which were 1/2 of what I had been quoted by EAW. Needless to say, I went with another company.

+ -1 moreExcellent. I recommend Eric and his team to everyone. He is professional, and responds very quickly to phone calls and emails. He provided via email pictures of plywood that needed to be replaced. His team did an excellent job of installation and clean up. Great crew! As I write this review now, we are 5 weeks later and with the recent snow melting and rain, we were for some reason getting the water dripping off of the sunroom roof and it is comiing right onto our sunroom screens/windows-this without the wind blowing it onto them, something it did not do before the roof replacement (Note: This was not a problem with the remainder of the house). After I emailed Eric, and his not being sure of this strange problem, he came out and his crew installed a gutter at his expense to alleviate the problem. Eric is a professional who seeks to solve and make right any issues should they arise. This is a great contrast to others in the area who either did not return our call, and unlike another roofer in the area who called right away but only showed up a week after they promised, that to even provide an estimate. I highly recommend you deal with Eric for your next roofing job.
Description of Work: We had the roof of our house replaced with new 30 year shingles and cobra vent (stripped off 2 layers, old sunroom rubber roof and skylights) which required replacing several sheets of damaged plywood and correctly cutting in and routing up the ventilation from the baths and kitchen stove exhausts which was previously done incorrectly when the house was built. In addition to the house we had our slightly sloped sunroof redone removing the old raised skylights and reframing and roofing over it with a better underlayment. Ice shield to 6' of eaves and problem areas was installed. Chimney repointing and new mortar tap was required. The crew also had delivered and replaced the old shutters.

+ 1 moreOverall it went very well. Eric was very good to deal with. He was very knowledgeable about roofing and what products to use. He came by to provide the estimate very quickly and we were able to agree on a price easily. He was a bit more expensive than other quotes I got but I liked him and felt he did high quality work. I was not disappointed. The site was kept clean. His workers were pleasant and worked very long, hard days. Overall I am very pleased with EAW and would certainly work with Eric again.

+ 0 moreWe had a bad leak where the enclosed porch meets the house. I called a few different roofers, and heard back almost immediately from Eric. He was professional, courteous and planned to meet me the same day to look at the problem. After inspecting the problem, Eric explained that he would not be willing to just fix the problem, and we were instead looking at a new roof (no surprise, bought the house 7 yrs ago, and knew this was coming). Eric worked up a price which sounded fair and gave a few options, i.e. new flashing at the chimney or use what was there, do the carport to match or not (carport was a newer roof and did not need to be done). This gave us a little flexibility as to how much we wanted to spend. Ultimately, the job was done quickly and efficiently. Eric's crew cleaned up daily, and I did not find one nail or piece of debris. Eric also did some new gutters, and after the job there were some problems with them. One phone call and Eric was back the same day and the problem was fixed. All in all a good experience, and a fine looking new roof!

Description of Work: A small job, typically hard to find contractors. Eric responded within one workday and the very next day the job was done. We got sound advice and Eric proposed a one-call-approach which saved us money, him time and produced an outstanding experience. Two, not one, tar valleys were repaired and several slate shingles replaced. It was quick, clean and most satisfactory! Call Eric: You will not be sorry!

+ -1 moreIt took two weeks from the time of the estimate to schedule the work, mostly because of waiting for parts to arrive and the weather to cooperate (we had one of the few snowstorms of this past winter). When parts were in and the roof was dry, Eric contacted us the night before coming out, saying he & his crew would be there first thing in the morning. Sure enough, they showed up at first light. After a brief conference, the crew got to work. A tarp was spred out in the yard to catch falling debris. Eric cautioned his crew to lay something down to protect our deck from damage and I heard him warn everyone to keep their voices down as it was still early. They worked like crazy all morning and into the afternoon, until the job was done. When they left, the roof looked great (my husband went up to check), the old roofing was gone & the yard was clean. Eric had even taken a few moments to repair a railing to the deck (damaged from a storm), for free. We would not hesitate to have them come again.
Description of Work: My husband and I came home one very windy day to find large pieces of roofing all over our yard. When my husband went up on the roof to survey the damage, we realized we would need the whole back dormer replaced. I searched Angie's List and, based on the good reviews, contacted Eric for an estimate. He arrived on time, went up and looked at the roof and then came down and told us exactly what he would do and why. His detailed explanation gave us confidence that he knew what he was talking about. He told us that he would email us a written estimate and, if we approved, he could order the materials needed and get right to the repair. We had the estimate (and a sheet of references) within 24 hours: Re-Roof Rear Shed Dormer: *strip and recycle roofing with dump truck *attach new ridge vent to main ridge 32', & hand nail silver lining caps. Caps to rear will be nailed tight to avoid water back up. *attach light gray TPO Roofing system to low pitched shed dormer roof, which includes 8" white drip edge, recovery board, main membrane, 3/4" pipe planges & cover tape. Total cost: $2,200.00 - 50% to start, 50% upon completion We had another roofer look at the problem as well and he gave a similar estimate for the same work. What made us choose Eric was the more detailed explanation and the fact that he addressed himself to both my husband and myself (I was the one who called him). The other roofer really only addressed himself to my husband. We agreed to the estimate, mailed Eric the deposit and he ordered the parts.

Price came in close to the quote (a few adds that were discussed and approved). Eric explained in detail the work and materials he would be using and was very responsive to questions.Eric's crew was hard working and very pleasant. They did a good job cleaning up all of the debris and even removed two piles of leaves for me. I contacted 3 other roofers and selected Eric based on price, his Angies list rating, responsiveness, and the up front information he provided on the membrane material and overall work scope.
Description of Work: Eric's crew removed two layers of shingles, boxed in two vents, installed a ridge vent, drip edge, and put down a layer of membrane roofing.

Description of Work: We had a roof leak from an exhaust vent. First contact Eric said he would be gone for the coming week end, but please e-mail him and that he would get back to me. Following week he contacted me, said he was on his ways over. He got his ladder, went on roof, came down and explained things to me. He went back up and fixed problem. Done deal.

+ -1 moreThe estimate was under $10000 but within the $8000 mark for the roof. He was very reasonable from what we’ve seen with other contractors. Unfortunately we had to replace our roof due to the hurricane Irene and my insurance did not cover his cost. That was the only reason we didn’t go with him, otherwise we would have gone with him. He was a really nice guy. It’s just that the insurance did not cover the amount that he was charging us unfortunately. We will absolutely use his services again in the future.

+ 0 moreAfter much deliberation and input from various sources I concluded that this ice storms was an unusual occurrence that may not be repeated, and decided to put off replacing the roof at this time. My roof was fairly new and will roll the dice on waiting for replacement. However when I do decide it's time for a roof replacement, I will be giving Eric a call.
Description of Work: During the Feb. ice and snow storm, I used Eric Weaver to clear an ice jam from my roof for $395. His response and quality of work was very good. The ice jam caused internal damage to ceilings, carpet and chandelier which resulted in an insurance claim. Eric returned when the ice melted and assessed the damage and recommend repairs to my roof to prevent a recurrence. I thought Eric was very professional, thorough with his inspection, and truly concerned about making a quality repair that would solve the problem and even included additional safeguards in his quote that went beyond what other roofers and contractors quoted. Eric was also the lowest cost bidder.
