Ideal Floor Covering - Hyannis - Falmouth

Salesclerk had no knowledge. I waited 1/2 an hour while the person (owner, manager) chatted with another gentleman customer about golf, life, etc.. and wouldn't even acknowledge the saleswoman or my presence. I had a substantial job I needed completed and had questions that I couldn't get answered. I eventually left with samples. AFter a month, no call back with answers to my original questions, nobody was looking for the samples back, I eventually brought them back at which time the strore was closed due to vacation or something. I honestly don't understand how this place stays afloat!!

Ideal Floor Covering did an outstanding job! The tile was installed perfectly, and every step of the process was explained by Alex so that we understood everything that was being done. The workers were diligent in making certain that each tile was installed perfectly and that the grout was just the right shade to complement the tiles. Alex and his crew made certain to keep everything as clean as possible throughout the process. They were hard workers, polite, and professional. The only glitch we had was a delay due to a manufacturer's defect in the tiles, but Alex made certain to pick up a new shipment personally. If it weren't for that problem, which was out of their hands, the work would have been done within the time estimated.

It is hard to put into words the absolute nightmare dealing with this company was, but I'll try. The final step on our $50k kitchen remodel was to install a subway tile backsplash and a mosaic above our new 36" capital range. We contracted with Ideal floor to do this work.this was June of 2014. The first visit the tile installer arrived and set immediately to work. They installed the tile they had, which was roughly 5sq ft short of what they needed. reordered more tile and said they would be back the following week. The following week they came and set the remaining subway tile and began the wall mosaic. They covered the floors with blankets. The installer laid out a square 2'x2'...I was present to catch this, pointing out that we had designed a 2'x3' rectangle to match the stove. The installer reported that he installed the product he was given and had no drawings or plans(he didn't seem to question why he had 2sqft of extra stone and border). This was corrected and he set the river rock in the mosaic. I returned from yard work to discover gray grout from the field of subway tiles being installed in the stone mosaic instead of the tan grout which matched the mosaic border and the stone. it looked terrible, dark gray grout with tan stone. The installer apologized and immediately started picking out the gray grout. I left to pick up a 10yr old mentee I had from the big brothers-big sisters organization. During this trip I called the company and told them to have someone come out and supervise this work because it was not going well. I returned home to find the mosaic almost complete with the sand colored grout. It looked fine but the area was covered with gray grout. The stove had been covered with a blanket, but now the new oak floors were covered with grout and scratched. there was grout ground into the floor where the wheels of the stove had rolled over it. I asked the installer to leave. I told him I would clean up, but that he had to go.He immediately started washing the floor in front of the stove. he climbed up on the counter and attempted to clean down behind the stove(?) I again told him to leave. He cleaned down the hallway and came back to remove the blanket from the stove. I walked over to look at the area and the stove door is pulled off the front of the stove and hanging by one hinge. On the door handle was the paper sign from the factory "do not lift by handle" which is exactly what he had done. He had lifted the stove to slide it out, and dimpled the area where the door handle attaches to the door. He had then covered the stove with the blanket from the floor in an attempt to conceal the damage until they left. I immediately called the installer in to look "you pulled the door off of the stove". He looked at me and said "you're a f-ing liar! YOU DID THAT, YOU TRY TO BLAME ME YOU F-ING LIAR(he is not using "f-ing"). He stood in my house swearing at me, threatening me, he told me NOT to take a picture of my own stove "don't you take a f****** picture of that!" I threatened to call the police. "f*ck you f*ck the police, you a f*cking liar" I asked him repeatedly to not swear in front of a 10 year old by standing in the kitchen. I called Ideal floor and they were horrified. The installer was walking around outside my house refusing to leave. They offered to send somebody out to look. By the end of the day the grout in between the river rock began to crack and there were large bubbles,dimples where air had escaped the grout. with gaps as large as 3/4 in, the unsanded grout they had used (specifically for small joints) was not correct!. The owner of the company Mark Woods came out and assured us "we will make this right" he assured us the grout was appropriate and that a touchup would fix it. Two weeks later another installer arrived and he reset some tiles and added another layer of grout. This grout cracked before he even left the property. To reset the tiles he had removed the light rail from the cabinets by running a saw up the corner joint, when he reinstalled these there was a >1/16" gap in the miter. My wife immediately sent photos of the work and asked mr woods to return to review the work.We never heard from mark woods again, this was the first week in july of 2014. Repeated calls to Ideal Floor went unanswered. Messages and emails were not returned. We had damage to a $6k stove, the stone mosaic behind the stove had to be repaired, the floor in front of the stove had to be refinished. We tried repeatedly to contact Mr woods and ideal floor. Finally I consulted an attorney who advised sending Ideal a demand letter for over $8k in damages. We were told not to fix the stove or the tile work until the court action was settled. The insurance company for the tile subcontractor offered a settlement, on the stove door and the floor repairs. Mr woods NEVER addressed the claim to repair the stone mosaic. We were without a stove from late june until October, finally we had to simply surrender and pay yet another contractor to remove the stone mosaic, repair the wall, reinstall backerboard, reinstall tile and stone mosaic as well as re-cut and re-install the light rail to the bottom of the cabinets. Ideal floor hires, cheap, unprofessional and completely unskilled contractors from 30 miles away. The "gentleman" swore at me in front of a 10 year old, threatened me in my own home. (subsequently I was told that I could I could not mentor this 10yr old child any more, he has told his mother about the almost violent confrontation and verbal altercation in our home). Idea Floor won't use local labor because quality costs more. When there IS a problem, Ideal Floor does NOTHING to address it other than to slap a little more of the same crappy grout on the problem. At no time did they ever offer to actually FIX the problem they had created. I contacted no less than SIX tile contractors and EVERY ONE of them told me that the grout they used should NEVER be used in large gaps like that! My lawyer eventually told me to get on with my life, that legal action against "a******s like this" take far more months and resources than they're worth.

Not well! Would not go back.

I have used ideal Flooring Covering 3 times now. My first project was vinyl tiles in my master bathroom. The sales people are always pleasant and always remember my name when I return, which is so nice. Isn?t that how we would all like to be greeted at local businesses? The vinyl tiles came out beautiful and are so easy to clean! They installed them right over my ugly outdated tile??instant update. The next project I needed done was tiling my kitchen floor. I attempted to rip up the old tiles myself. No way!! I felt bad for the guys who came to do the rip up. Well now I know why they call them professionals?it only took them a couple of hours. My new tiles look gorgeous. I get so many compliments on them. The final project to date is all new laminate in my family room. I had ugly slate tiles in one area and ugly gold carpet in another. The installers did a great job. It looks like a whole new room! I had different installers all three times and they were all professional, prompt, and polite. I can?t wait to go to Ideal for my next project which will be hardwood for my main living area. I think I might use their great financing program this time.

We worked with Jen in the Hyannis store and we could not have been happier with the assistance she gave us selecting the right products for our home. Since we haven't replaced our floors in a long time we thought it was going to be much more difficult than it was. Jennifer made the process seamless from delivery through the installation. The installers did an exceptional job, were on time and the height of professional.

They saw the old floor that was ruined by another company and completely re-did it. The installation of the new flooring in living room, dining room, and kitchen was done beautifully. I now have it as I wanted with the Bona finish. They also did vinyl in my bathroom and carpet in my two bedrooms. They also refinished the hallway and bedroom to match the hardwood they installed.

The person we dealt with, Pam in Hyannis was patient, kind, professional, knowledgeable and most importantly instrumental in our achieving great results on a large and complicated job which involved 3 full baths and a half bath as well as one other area. She came to our house multiple times to understand our needs and help us choose materials, measure, consult on and oversee installation and the like. She worked hard to get our jobs scheduled in conjunction with the builder during a very busy time. The results were fantastic and people have universally commented on how well everything came out.

Jennifer was extremely helpful, professional, and responsive: a pleasure to work with. Both floors were installed without problems by polite professionals who cleaned up after themselves. Both floors look great.

It was very good. I don't like the floor I picked out but the work was fine. They were courteous. They were on time. They did good work. The salesperson was excellent. The crew they sent was good; I had no callback, no nothing. I was happy with them. They had better things that I should have bought.

I went to the Falmouth, MA location. I dealt with the General Manger, Shayne Quigley. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and gave us the most value for our budget. Shayne offered us several choices and knew exactly what we wanted when we showed him pictures of our home. Shayne defintely helped point us in the right direction. This was a 2 day job for them and the job went perfect. My wife and I are so happy with the results. The tile we picked out goes perfect with our newly renovated kitchen. Out of all the salesman we had encountered at various kitchen/bath places, and big box stores, and other flooring stores that we visited, Shayne was the most personable and professional salesman we had the pleasure of dealing with. We get so many compliments on our kitchen when friends and family come over. I would strongly recommend making an appointment with Shayne if you are planning on updating your home or business with new hardwood, carpet, vinyl, or tile.

We decided to install new hardwood flooring in the areas of our home that had carpet. We visited Ideal Flooring?s beautiful showroom in Falmouth where you can see many different styles and colors off wood floors, carpets, tile etc. We decided on several different styles of wood flooring for various rooms and had Ideal Flooring place the order. We subsequently hired an interior decorator to help pick out furniture. When we told the designer about our new floor plans she told us that we had to many disparate floor styles and colors. We went back to Ideal Flooring and collaborated with the General Manager, Shayne and our designer. We decided on the type of woods and colors that would give us the best over style and match for our new vision. Shayne negotiated with his wood floor suppliers and we were able to cancel the orders and just pay for the return shipping from one supplier. We hired Ideal Flooring to install the wood floors as well as refinish and recolor our existing floors from a light color to dark. Our existing flooring consisted of three different types of wood that ultimately makes matching the color difficult. After the first attempt, the color of the older flooring did not match the newly installed dark floors. Different types of wood absorb stain in varying degrees resulting in significant differences in color. Shayne had his installers try several techniques and after adding a dark color into the polyurethane we achieved a very close color match. This house is our summer home so we were not in the area during the time of the work and Shayne went out of his way to schedule the installers, stop in at the house to review the progress, check on the quality of the work and send pictures to us for review. We commend Shayne for creating a great experience. We could not have asked for better customer service and the quoted price was in line with several independent quotes I received. The floors came out much better than I could have imagined and it has made our house much more beautiful!

Due to water damage, my downstairs playroom and guest bedroom carpets were ripped up leaving a cement floor the week before Christmas. Ideal floor was able to find carpet and install within a week so we could have full use of the rooms for the holidays. Everyone was professional and very positive about the job. Pam the consultant I worked with, was able to answer all questions I had about every possible floor choice and make the job happen.

I think one of the best measures of a service provider is how they behave when something goes wrong. I hired these folks to strip and refinish a floor. Let me start by saying what incredible customer service I received during the quoting and servicing process. Amazing! Secondly, let me share what exquisite care the workmen took to make sure my belongings were protected from dust/debris during the sanding process. Sadly, during the refinish there were some problems. It is hard to say what happened for sure but the floor ended up with several problems. I was concerned and disappointed. I have to say that the response of this group to the problem we EXCEPTIONAL! We came to a fair solution and I am very pleased. What's more Jennifer who was my chief source of contact here is someone who should be a model to all service companies of what good customer service is like. I felt like I was transported back to a time gone by where customer service was valued and considered important. She made me feel heard, was empathetic, and offered several solutions. The end result is I am very pleased, and would gladly use this group again for any job. They truly set an example of what good service should look like.

Terrible. 1st they ran out of carpet with about 1/3 of the job left to do. They either measured wrong or cut the rug wrong. Next, we were having renters come and they left exposed rug tacks in the hall. We got them to come back and cover the unfinished part with some remnants. Then they were going to get more carpet, come back and finish. They finished and when we inspected the job, the installation was terrible. Ragged seams and edges unfinished. Then, the day that they were supposed to come back to reinstall it, Lisa called to tell us that they lost the key that we had left with her, so they couldn't get in. So my wife had to drive to the Cape the next day to leave them another key. They reinstalled the carpet, but thy left the two ends of the stair runner with a ragged edge. They finally came back and fixed the runner September 16th. This job started in April and didn't get finished until September.

Very good installation, and thorough cleanup.

We were very happy with the entire process..the selection that is available is very extensive so we were able to find the exact flooring that fit our home..the sales person we thought was very knowledgeable , and wanted to make sure we got the right flooring for our home. He was nice not pushy like we experienced in the other stores we went to.he came to our home to estimate and was on time and fast at getting us the estimate.. We placed our order and was given an installing dates our job had to be done in two phases because the Tile flooring touches the hardwood flooring and he told us that the hardwood needed to be put down first then the tile after.. The installers arrived right on time which we have never experienced with any service company before and they worked so hard actually late to get our job complete because they knew we were having company on the weekend.the next day the tiling installers arrived on time like the other men and did a wonderful job. Our house was back to normal with new flooring by Thursday. We would highly recommend ideal Flooring to anyone that needs it.

It was all very professional but pricing was about double the home depot price for a better quality
