After a raccoon ripped a hole in our roof ridge vent, it needed immediate attention. Roger was the first to respond and was able to come out and do the repair the same day. Though he couldn’t match the shingles perfectly, it was certainly close enough given you can’t see it from the street. Job well done at an agreeable price.

Last summer, I hired Roger to replace two skylights as well as a double hung window. I was very pleased with the end result. Not only was the job done well, but the guys that completed the work were courteous and worked diligently to get the job done. Fast forward 7 monthsâ ¦I noticed random shingles in the yard. Turns out the ridge cap had several holes and, of course, the forecast called for heavy rain later that evening. After calling at least 5-6 roofers/contractors in my immediate area (who either promised a call back, or didnâ t pick up), I remembered Roger. He responded immediately and said that if I couldnâ t find anyone, heâ d be over later that night. Roger showed up around 8pm and worked on the roof, in the dark, for over 2 hours to repair the ridge caps. I really donâ t know when this man sleeps! His rates are fair, he's responsive and he SHOWS UP (something that is getting harder to find in this day and age). I have several other projects that need to be completed in the future and I plan on calling Roger and his team. I would most definitely recommend them to family and friends.

I noticed some fallen shingles on the ground around 2pm and looked at my roof and saw I was missing ridge cap shingles. When I went to the attic to check, there was a hole straight through my roof, and of course tomorrow we are getting major weather with lots of rain and wind. As heights are not for me, I frantically searched internet for repair for that afternoon with very little hope. I sent a request through homeadvisor, and got a can of foam insulation ready to go into the attic to at least fill the holes in case I didn't hear back in time. Low and behold, I get a call from Roger saying he could come by TODAY! I put down the can of foam, closed the attic and couldnâ t believe we would have repair service day of. I figured it would be very expensive but I was wrong. Roger came 15 minutes before sunset, masked-up and very friendly and professional. He set up his ladder and lights and was up on the roof fixing ridge cap very quickly. He ended up finding more issues while up there and he repaired those as well. He was up on the roof in the dark. Could not believe it but he was very comfortable up there. While on the roof we got to talking and we also needed some interior trim around front door fixed, and while he was here he ended up replacing the entire door frame as I had material on hand. Roger may be the best gem I have found on Cape for contractors. Hard working, honest, so fast, and reasonably priced. He could have raked us over the coals because was before a storm but he didnâ t. I will be using Byam Construction for any and all needs and will recommend him to all of my friends and neighbors. I strongly recommend Roger for any carpentry & roofing needs.

I called Roger Byam after another company wanted to tear the whole roof off and charge me (believe it or not) $32,000. Roger came the same day, used his own stainless-steel nails and adhesive and did a great job. When I asked him how much I owed him, he said (again, believe it or not!) "nothing" which I could not accept. So I paid him what I thought was a fair amount. He was very pleased and called me generous, when he was the one who had been generous! How often do you come across such a gentlemen these days??

Roger Byam and Chris are the best! Roger responded to my request with HomeAdvisor immediately so I asked for an estimate and he came over the same day! Within 3 days Chris came over and repaired my roof and believe me , it was extensive. Chris is a "work horse". They are both professional, personable, reliable and their cost is very reasonable. I would highly recommend Byam Construction.

We hired Roger to replace missing roof shingles, address a roof leak and a persistent leak around a window. Roger made sure all of the work was completed to both his and our standards, even immediately redoing some of the repairs at his cost that initially didnâ t meet his standards. Some of the leak repair work was difficult to first diagnose, but Roger made 100% sure that it was done properly. He and his crew were great to work with and very efficient and timely. Will definitely hire him again.

Roger Byam was pleasant before I agreed to select him for a quoted 2 day deck railing replacement job which turned into a 5 day job. After I selected him, he became unprofessional and verbally inappropriate to me when we spoke. He also assigned the job to someone he never met and located through an ad online. The contractor told me this in person on day 1 of the job and also said he never did a deck rail replacement. I was not happy with my experience and felt uncomfortable when Roger spoke to me and used inappropriate language to intimidate me, indicating he was losing money on the project. He also said our deck was ?garbage? in his words.

I consider myself very fortunate to have discovered Byam Construction. They assessed my problem to be less serous than I suspected and repaired it perfectly. They were friendly and knowledgeable and very economical. They worked efficiently and cleanly. I was delighted with the service provided.
