It's hard to find words sufficiently positive to express how happy we are with the job Viola Roofing did for us. From a detailed quote to prompt scheduling of our job, to quick and professional installation, and to complete clean up, it was a pleasure dealing with this firm from start to finish. We've never had a better experience with ANY contractor, and we highly recommend this Kevin Viola and his company!

While in my attic I found a small leak in my roof. I called Viola Roofing and received a call back from Brian very quickly. I explained to him the issue and he came out the next morning to assess the issue. He found a few exposed nails and was able to seal those up. Did not charge anything for the work. He was very professional, responsive, and easy to work with. Viola will be my first call for any future roofing needs.

I lost a good amount of shingles, trims and about 80 sq. ft. of soffit under the porch roof in the March storm.I got in touch with Mike and he put together a quote for a temporary repair on the largest areas where it was just exposed roof deck and a quote for whole roof replacement which I considered a fair deal.Mid-week his men came out and patched the roof and the whole crew came back in April to replace.They finished it all the work in a day and left the yard cleaner than it was before they arrived.I ran into the crew that day briefly and the were very polite and professional. A pain free,hassle free experience from a top notch company.Highly recommended!

Great job!! The estimate came in well below some others, and both the materials and quality of workmanship were excellent. The flashing, edging and Fire and Ice layer are all great - and they did it all in One day, with perfect cleanup afterwards. Top notch.

I greatly appreciate Brian's professionalism, integrity, knowledge, and pricing fairness, and Viola Roofing would have been my first choice to do the job. But the job required carpentry work to be done inside the attic in addition to the exterior roofing and the Viola crew only does exterior work. Unfortunately, we were unable to line up another contractor to only do the interior work so had to go with a contractor who could do the entire job. However, I would not hesitate at all to call Brian again for any future roofing needs.

I needed a new roof, so I asked 4 or 5 contractors to come out and give me an estimate. Viola was the first one to call back, and come out. They explained what needed to be done, and recommended also replacing some skylights (which I didn't end up doing). They left me a brochure where I could choose the tile color and style. I pointed out that I had Hardie-board siding, and they noted that one strip of siding would need to be replaced where an upstairs wall met part of the roof. Their estimate wasn't the cheapest, nor the most expensive of various bids. I went with them because they seemed very professional, but also no-nonsense. A week or two later I called them back saying I wanted to proceed, so they sent me an update contract, and I sent them a check for 1/3 to get started. (They didn't end up cashing the check before they started). They seemed to be pretty busy (probably toward the end of the roofing season), because it would take a day or two to hear back from them if I left them a message. But a few weeks later, they called back and said they were ready to do my roof the following Monday. Supplies and crew started arriving early, around 7am, and by 7:30 they were hard at work. They finished my roof in a single day, it was almost dark by the time the cleaned up. They left my house and yard neat and tidy. The new shingles looked great, and so far no more leaks! A few days later someone touched base with me to ask if I had any questions, and remind me to send in final payment. Throughout the entire process, they seemed very professional and competent. I guess I'll have to wait to see how the new roof holds up, but the new shingles and the siding they replaced look great so far. I would definitely recommend these guys for roofing!

The whole process from inspection, quote, installation, cleanup was better than I expected. The staff was very professional and communication was excellent. Materials are first rate. We had other quotes for this project, but very happy we chose Viola based on our experience and the quality of installation and materials.

His estimate was detailed and the pricing was very fair. He responded promptly to my phone calls and emails. He also accommodated a last minute change without additional cost. As for his crew, I can't believe how hard they worked. They were at my house right at 7:00AM to perform the previously described work and they finished around 5:30PM. The nature of a roofing job creates a huge mess on the surrounding property. I never thought they would be able to clean up by the end of the day but they did. I purposely walked around the house a couple of times to see if I could find anything that indicated a roofing job had been done. The yard was amazingly spotless. Thank you Viola Roofing for a job well done. I definitely recommend them highly. As a matter of fact, I’ve asked Mike for another estimate for additional work.

Viola was great. They gave the most inclusive and lowest priced quote of the other local companies we contacted. Brian was very knowledgeable and responsive to all of our concerns and inquiries. Viola's crew showed up exactly when they said they would. They were extremely efficient and professional, needing only 2 days to complete the job. They left our lawn spotless of any roof-debris. I would highly recommend Viola and would use them again in the future.

He was wonderful. It was perfect. He didn't charge me, because he cleaned my front gutters but he said it only took him five minutes, and he didn't charge me.

Last year we had a leak in our roof and Viola repaired it for us, while telling us that we should plan to replace the roof soon. This year, we had Brian out to give us an estimate to replace the roof so we had them replace it. They came out and did all of the necessary work in a single day, including replacing our three skylights. Haven't had any leaks or any other issues with the roof and skylights.

All went well.Phone call was returned promptly and I did not have to wait long for appointment. The workmen were timely,courteous, and understood what needed to be done. A new gutter and drainpipe were installed as well as a new long extension pipe The workmen ensured the extension was as secure as possible and answered my questions,too.Everything looked great and now there are no leaks!There was some confusion about billing but it worked out easily enough,

For 2+ years, we were dealing with intermittent water leaks on the level below our roof deck. Sometimes even heavy rain would result in no leak, other times a relatively mild downpour left us with buckets all over the kitchen and living room for hours. Imagine the anxiety of checking weather forecasts ahead of every trip out of town, fearing that water is coming into your home, destroying furniture and causing expensive damage. It was a nightmare, and we couldn't figure out why the leak was so sporadic. We had had two roofing companies come out and attempt to diagnose the problem. Both were eager to suggest that the entire roof under our deck needed to be replaced. To be clear, this meant ripping up the decking, craning down our HVAC (AC condensers), ripping up and replacing the flat roof, reinstalling the deck, and all the AC units. The quotes were both in the neighborhood of $50k. We were mentally preparing to take on this project, when I decided to call Brian from Viola. Brian was the first person who actually asked questions, and looked at the whole situation with the desire to understand and problem solve, as opposed to with the goal of landing the biggest job possible and making the most money. Given the placement of the leaks, and the fact that they were intermittent, Brian had a theory: it's not our roof that's causing the leak, but the two exterior doors that lead onto the deck. When heavy wind drives the rain sideways into the doors, they leak. If there's relatively little wind, and the rain falls straight down, there's no leak. He suggested we replace and reseal the doors. Viola's quote was around 5k - TEN TIMES LOWER than the proposals from two other roofing companies. TEN TIMES LOWER than two proposals that would not have fixed the problem! Could you imagine spending 50 grand to fix a problem only to have water coming through your ceiling again the next time it storms? I shudder to think. Brian and Viola did the job on schedule, and on budget. They were professional, went the extra mile, cleaned up after themselves, and... most importantly of all: they fixed our leak! It is thundering in Boston as I speak, and heavy wind is driving water sideways into our home, but not a single drop of water is coming through the ceiling. Do yourself a favor, hire professionals who will take the time to listen, to think critically, and to do the job that needs doing, not the one that's best for their bottom line. I recommend Viola without reservations.

The job went smoothly from start to finish. Mike responded to my email for a quote promptly. He came by initially during the day while my wife and I were at work to take a look at the job and write up an estimate. He then came back to discuss the quote and the job at a time that was convenient for me and my wife after work, something the others could not find time to do. Mike's quote was by far the lowest we received of the 3 we got. His crew showed up promptly at 7 AM and completed he job in one day. In addition to the roof replacement his crew repaired my gutters as needed. The cleanup was nearly perfect. By the time they left you could barely tell they were there. I would recommend Mike to anyone looking for a roof replacement,

We used Viola Roofing to replace our roof in November 2016. We had a very good experience with the company and I would recommend them to anyone. We had originally gotten an estimate from Viola in 2015, but then had to delay the work. When I contacted them again a year later to ask for an updated estimate, they said the original price, which was very competitive, was still good. We chose Viola partly for that reason, and partly because they were able to handle the entire job, which included taking down some old brick chimneys and replacing some window trim, which other roofers were reluctant to do. With other roofers we would have had to hire a masonry company and a carpenter separately to handle those parts of the job, a headache we did not need. Once we signed the contract, Viola said they would give us a schedule within a few weeks, which they did. The weather was not great, but they seemed to be on top of that and did not have to revise the start date once they set it. We did have one concern before the work started, when we called the electric company to come out to put safety covers on the wires near the roof. The electric company rep would not commit to having it done in time for the start date. But I let Viola know about this, and two days later the linemen showed up along with a Viola employee and they took care of the wires. The work started on the date specified. The job was scheduled to take 3 days, but was done in 2 and a half days. Our house is quite old with a mansard style roof and a lot of dormer windows that required a lot of cutting and fitting, so it was a lot of work to get done in that time. The crew of Viola employees was large, very polite, showed up on time every day, and cleaned up thoroughly during and after the job. The other companies involved in the job were also right on top of things--the materials were delivered by the supplier an hour before the work started, and the dumpsters were dropped off on time and picked up promptly at the end of the last day of work. The chimney demolition caused us some anxiety because there was some unavoidable damage to the interior drywall due to the angle at which the masonry met the mansard part of the roof. However, when this started to happen, the crew leader stopped working on the brick and called up the foreman, who came out within a couple of hours to evaluate the situation and devise a remedy. It turned out the problem could be easily solved with a little work on the interior drywall, to be done after the roof work was complete, which was quite a relief. Gogoni, the drywall subcontractor sent out by Viola to take care of this the following week, did a great job, and on top of that was very quick, neat, quiet, and unintrusive the whole time he was in the house working. The Viola foreman also came back himself and spent an afternoon completing some window trim work that the crew had overlooked during the job. We communicated mostly by email and they were very responsive and did not have to be pestered to come out and finish up these final details. We paid Viola a 1/3 deposit prior to the work starting, and they did not request the second and final payment until every aspect of the job, including the drywall repair and the last bit of trim work, were done. The charges for the job were exactly as specified in the contract. The crew did not find any unexpected problems with sheathing etc that might have required per-foot charges as stipulated in the contract. We did pay additional for the drywall subcontractor, but we expected this since the contract specified interior repairs as a separate charge. We had no problem with this, and the actual charge was quite reasonable. I feel that Viola was extremely considerate, honest, and fair in the way they treated us, and we are very happy with their work. Getting your roof replaced is unavoidably noisy and unpleasant, but they made it as easy as possible for us. Over the past 10 years, we have used a number of different contractors for renovation work on our house, and Viola really stands out for their professionalism.

Mike at Viola Roofing was the most honest and reputable contractor we spoke to. Every other roofer suggested that we install a new roof (sight unseen) based on age alone. Mike offered to take a look at the shingles while he was in town for another project and provided a fair estimate to replace the damaged shingles. When it comes time to replace our roof (which is inevitable), we wouldn't think of working with anyone other than Viola Roofing based on this positive experience.

Mr. Maillet responded immediately to my initial call, as he was throughout the job and afterwards. I was away during the actual work, but Mr. Maillet came over before our departure with roofing material samples and he helped us decide which would be appropriate. According to my neighbors, the work was done quickly, and clean-up was thorough. When we returned, we were very pleased with how the roof came out.

The crew did a fantastic job. Hard working bunch of guys. Showed up promptly at 7AM the day work was scheduled to start, and at 7AM the following day (Saturday) to finish the job. Second best price we got from 6 bids (the only lower one was a contractor who finally owned up to the fact that he was operating under the former owner's contractor's license). They also included things that none of the other contractors included (up to 3 sheets of plywood replaced, gutter cleaning) in the job. Job was done well, and done quickly. Cleanup was extremely thorough, to the point where they wound up cleaning up some stuff that had nothing to do with their roofing job. Great job all around.

Viola was great with getting permits (Somerville ISD is tricky sometimes), and scheduled the work for a month afterward. They came over three days, build the dormer window perfectly, re-routed and improved our gutters, and replaced the roof and a ton of rotted wood beneath it. They came back to do interior plastering, and again for one extra day (time and materials) to fix rotten wood on the outside of two existing windows. They were professional, communicative, and very helpful with cost containment and preservation of our old home. Very positive experience.

Mike's crew are very professional, came really early, they were non-stopping working, finished by the afternoon and cleaned up like they were never here. Top quality, very fair price.
