RC Hardwood Floors

The company was a total pleasure to work with. Communication was good, they were easy to work with, cooperative, etc. The finished product is very nice (not going to say Perfect because I just noticed one small funky spot in the finish, and there are a few stray hairs here and there embedded in the finish, but all in all it looks gorgeous.

Start was not established so there was no start and but a finish.

They did a very nice job...BUT...the floor was larger that the coupon covered,, so that's when it got sticky...they didn't tell me what the overage was per square foot before they began, they mismeasured the floor (to their advantage by $50) then got a little insulting about this...(like it's SO DIFFICULT TO MEASURE A FLOOR) and claimed they never had this happen...which I found hard to believe.

They were on time , finished on schedule, the floors look great. They were also extremely clean it what I understand can be sometimes a dusty process. Plan to use again for other areas of my home.

Because of the storm the previous Friday, the workers were not able to come in the morning as originally scheduled. They notified me in advance that that would be the case and gave me an ETA for the afternoon that was right on. The floor hadn't been refinished in about 20 years and I was worried about what looked like pretty deep scratches and heavy wear in parts of the floor. I was a bit worried about dust from the sanding but there wasn't any with the vacuum device that they used. They did a beautiful job and the floor looks like new. I couldn't be happier.

RC offered a hardwood floor refinish deal. I bought in and we had email communication. I sent them photos of our floor. As it turned out, we have softwood floors.

We called RC thinking that we were in too much of a time crunch to actually re-finish floors, since we closed on this house on a Thursday and moved in all of our things on a Monday. But, Richard, Mike, and their team were willing to work Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in order to finish on time at no extra cost. (Maybe their schedule was more flexible during the winter months?) The floor was sanded to bare wood and coated with 3 coats of polyurethane, then allowed to dry/cure until Monday when all of our stuff arrived from the move. Richard also removed railing that needed to go anyway at no extra cost. The floors look great and the team was punctual, knowledgable, and friendly.

They mixed up my mailing address town with the actual town I lived in so the crew was late getting to my home. They came in and the first thing they did was to pull my stove out from its nook so they could get at my 220 plug. I had just had the kitchen floor laid down so I was a bit nervous the stove was going to scratch the floor. The sanding did not make a mess which was nice, but when they left they did not even tell me they were going. They just walked out. They did not use any barriers, such as the plastic and taping it to the doorway. I got the feeling they were in a hurry because it was someone's birthday and they were talking about the club they were going to go to after work. They also did not open the windows so when I went to work and came home my house was unbearable. The smell was overwhelming and felt very toxic. They claim it is not toxic to breathe in those fumes, but I am skeptical of that. It was so bad that I rented a hotel room for two nights. (costing me more money) They came back the next day and put another coat of poly on the floor, this time they opened the windows and finally put plastic around the doorways, but the damage with the smell had already been done. There was no staying in the house.

He returned my call immediately; he arrived at home on time; he provided an ball park estimate. He did not get back to me with a formal quote as promised. I phoned (number on web page) and emailed him several times but did not get a response. I also emailed them from their web page and did not get a response. I have signed on with another company for the work.

They did great on refinishing my family room floor. But they never responded on the estimate

RC Hardwood Floors is a highly professional and competent organization. Our floors are gorgeous! Even those areas that had serious damage were restored, revealing no signs of distress. Beautiful job!

I responded to a deal on angies list knowing that the job I needed to be done would require more time and money. They provided estimate and work was done. The service would have been much better had they provided the help moving furniture out of the room but they will not do this.

Overall, the experience was good. We had bad water stains in our kitchen and the kitchen and family room are now beautiful. Richard recommended 4 coats in high traffic areas (kitchen). I started with 3 but ended up paying for the extra coat. It was worth it. I did 3 on the master bedroom and although it looks great, a fourth probably would have looked amazing. Richard was there when he said he'd be there and once the job starts, he came each day to apply the coats. Everyone was friendly. I will use Richard again in the future to clean up the rest of the house. Some of the floors probably should have been repaired prior to the job but I didn't ask that of RC. Estimates were always provided as well as receipts. RC is also good about educating you to get the most out of the investment. A few words of caution for other customers... 1) RC requires a deposit in hand before they step foot in the door and schedule the work. They are serious about it and that's their policy. If you want to work with them, you need to adhere. In contrast, I just had a $20,000 heating system/ac installed and the company didn't ask for money once until a month after the job was complete. Just something to be aware of. 2) I've read some other comments about a bag of dust being left at the property. A bag was left on my property for several days. However, it was eventually removed without me asking. Be patient. It will be removed. Overall, I'm happy. When I have more money, I'll be calling RC.

I called RC floors and a few other flooring companies for an estimate for having my dining room floor sanded and resealed. I felt that RC gave me the best deal and offered to do an extra coat of polyurethane in his price. This he felt was a good idea as we have two medium sized dogs. After we decided to have him do the work he came over and gave us a written estimate which is exactly what we paid. He did a great job and using a dustless system was wonderful. The worse part of the entire project is that the smell of the urethane is SO terrible and being January and very cold it was hard to air out the house. I will use RC in the future but wait until I can open windows. I know why January is a slow month for floor refinishing now!

They get quite busy when they put specials on Angies List, It may take a while to get to your house but they keep their schedule.

Excellent work. They sanded down very old, distressed wood floor and left me with a bright and shiny new finish on my hardwood floors. It makes the whole room look new again.

This is the second time I had RC Hardwood Floors in to work on our house. Last year they refinished floors in three larger rooms. They did a good job so I contracted with them again. This time they refinished floors two bedrooms.They were careful to remove dust from sanding several times so that we were hardly aware of any dust. I have asthma, so this was a concern. They showed up when they said they would and finished on time. The floors look great.

He was very nice, but I never got back to him and by that time it was so late that I didn't even want to call him and ask if I could still use the coupon I bought. We were having work done in the house and would've had to move so many things around for him to even get to the hardwood floors that it just became a big project. I thought it was a perfectly good quote and not outrageous, but it was my fault for not completing the job. He was very prompt in getting here and was personable and explained things. I would have hired him.

The two workmen, Mike and his young helper, arrived just as scheduled and commenced to work immediately. They did the bulk of the job on the first day within two hours and returned the next day to apply the second coat of polyurethane. We are greatly pleased by their work. They were efficient and prompt and we would DEFINITELY use this company again in the future.

These guys were fabulous! They worked really hard to fit into my tight schedule and refinish all of the floors in our old house (around the holidays) before we moved in. They were done a bit early, they were super nice to work with and the floors came out beautiful. They patched some holes in my old house and even fixed my stair banisters while they were at it. I could't be happier.

RC Flooring was an excellent company to work with. They came to our home and gave us an estimate, told us exactly how long it would take and what sort of materials they would use. They showed up when they said they would and were very professional. The completed floors were beautiful and the house was left virtually dust free. We had these floors done in preparation for selling our house and if we purchase a new home that needs the floors refinished I would go back to them in a minute.

Michael and his assistant showed up at 10 o'clock to start the work on Thursday, December 20. Although he did not call in advance to let us know he was coming, he came at the most convenient time for us and we were pleased when he drove up the driveway. On the first day, they sanded the floor and then laid down the first coats of polyurethane. He told us to let the floor dry completely and not to walk on it at all. On the second morning, they returned to put the final coat of polyurethane. Although the smell was strong, the floor looked absolutely beautiful when the finished. We are so pleased with the results and with the service. The two men were highly professional and it was a pleasure to have them as a contractor. I would certainly hire them again.

Richard did a really nice job on the floors! He and his crew did the work efficiently and it looks great. RC Hardwood also understanding when we had to reschedule due to our street being blocked off by National Grid on the day the work was to be redone.

Great scheduling. Showed up on time, executed the projec twith no mess in the house. Very clear on what to expect and timeframes and executed well.

The floors came out fantastic and are a showpiece of my house. They were very accommodating to my schedule and my requests. Also I had purchased their services at a discount through either Angies List of a Groupon, I don't remember which, and despite the fact I didn't get my room prepped and painted before the expiration date of my coupon, I just talked to them before the expiration date and they said it was not a problem, just let them know when I am ready to go. Nice guys, did a good job, and I would definitely use them again.
