Precision Door Service

One of the doors seems undersized for the opening of the garage and seems to barely fit. All the doors do not close properly and leave air gaps at the top.They were supposed to be installed and weather stripped. No weather stripping was installed. There has been zero response from the company by email and telephone calls have not resulted in any action.

I was the first appointment of the day, they gave me a window of arrival between 8-10am and said I would get a call 30 before arrival. No call, arrived at 9:50am then sat in van for 10 min. in driveway. Found other work needed (Expected, replaced 4 spring pulley wheels) but the costs they quoted for parts is at least double what you will find anywhere else. Requested the bare minimum extra work. He completed everything in under an hour for which I paid over $370.

The replacement job was tricky because there was minimal clearance to fit the track and power unit. The service tech, did a nice job of modifying several of the components to make everything fit (and even better then the previous installation).

Overall a good experience, making the appointment was very easy, the tech showed up in a timely manner and was pleasant. However, the price I paid was high for what was provided. The call took about 15 minutes to install 10 new garage door rollers one of my garage doors. The parts only cost about $25- at the hardware store and I paid $129.00 so that comes to about $400.00 per hour for labor. And if this was the "special" Angie's List price I would have felt raped if I had paid $250.00

on time, clean & neat work was done capably

Guy gets here tells us the Genie is broken and they don't carry or service that brand. To prevent us from having multiple different remotes my wife runs to Lowe's get's new Genie. Precision charges us $200 install that fine but the guy uses the 10 yr old wiring to hook up the safety beams. and keeps the new wiring that came with the unit. That is lousy . He rebalances the door and ands us a bill for $706 not acknowledging the $299. we already paid . I called precision they claimed there was no coupon . Finally got a hold of a person Robin in billing who said oh yes there was a coupon Angies list never paid them . I asked her to email me an itemized bill - she didn't. Angies list reimbursed us the $299. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE

This offer was a complete waste of money since the only things covered were actual rollers on the doors. Nothing was wrong with rollers on my doors but replaced them anyway as was included in the offer. Then I had pay extra $150 to have eyes replaced. Including paying an extra $40 dollars for half an hour of labor to do the replacements even though I paid $250 in total for them to come and look at the doors which took all of 10 minutes. Basically I paid over $400 for work that I am sure I could have done for less than $200. Basically there was nothing specifically wrong with the company just this offer was complete waste of money as I don't think I needed new rollers I just needed eyes replaced. I would have been much better off calling a garage company directly. Offer was unclear as to what was covered.

We are new to the area and needed a garage door repair. They were on-time, worked quickly, had the parts on-hand, restored everything to proper working order, and the price was right. Honest tradesmen still exist in this world!

Initially it was great. Alex was friendly and efficient. Although much more expensive than originally anticipated, we were happy with the results. However, in less than a week of use, the door broke and needs to be repaired. We feel this is a direct result of the repair. Precision wants to charge an additional $99 just to have their tech come to look at it. Is there no warranty even in the first 7 days!! How outrageous. During the initial repair, Alex called me back out to the garage to show me that one of the cables had frayed and recommended replacing both as well as the pulleys. He said I would still have to pay a $99 service fee plus $80 in labor and parts ($40.95 each for 4 pulleys and $49.95 for cables) yet he would apply the $129 we paid for the Angie's List coupon since the rollers are in great shape. The itemized receipt arrived via email, the breakdown showed $163.80 for pulleys (40.95 each) and $29.95 for bottom brackets, two bottom rollers at $6, $49.95 for lift cables and $12.95 for misc parts (screws, bolts, etc). The new bill was higher yet they did allow a fair credit for the coupon. Our final cost was $362.65 ($232.65 plus $129.00 coupon amount already paid) Yes, this was higher than originally anticipated but we had a good working door so we had been satisfied. Bottom line, we were charged for brackets that failed and appears to be the reason the door snapped and broke. Precision won't even come to look at it unless we pay them $99 to inspect. The manager, Steve, was quite friendly on the phone yet was unable to send someone out without billing us the additional fee just to look at the damage. The best he could offer was to agree to deduct that $99 from any additional repairs. We only wanted them to look at the damage. A very disappointing end result.

The experience was a 10. Paul explained everything down to the last detail and installed all the equipment and then did a grand clean up!! I got the Liftmaster Q with 2 remotes and a keypad and the quietest garage door ever!!

Not a bad deal at all for$129 to replace 10 garage door rollers and tune up everything. However, if you need additional work to be done they are pretty expensive compared to other companies. Rob performed the service and was great in every aspect.

Excellent! The company is responsive and very helpful. Each person that I spoke with from making the appointment to the install was great.

They told me I need to pay them $99 for a salesman to show up at my house and give me a quote. Seriously? Why would I pay $100 for someone to give me a quote? Of course, it would be applied to any services I purchased but what if I decide to go with another company? I think this is a terrible business practice. Fortunately, I was able to get other companies to come to my house and give me a quote without charging me.

Great! Christopher did a great job! He knew exactly what was wrong and fixed everything expertly! Great service!!!

First, there was a real person picked up my call quickly. She put me on the same-day schedule right away. She also told me the name of the technician (Lou) so I knew whom to expect. Lou called ahead and let me know when he would show up. He did show up when he said he would. After assessing the situation, Lou was able to open the door after drilling a small hole to gain access to the pull string. He then installed a manual lock and key mechanism using the hole that he just drilled. So, there was no damage on the door and I won't lock myself out again. He also fixed the remote control that didn't work. Only 3 hours passed between the time I placed the call and the completion of the work.

Excellent service from start to finish!! Brian came out to provide estimate. He was right on time, provided all of the answers we needed, was professional and pleasant to deal with. Ray did the installation. Again, he arrived right on schedule, work was perfect and clean. He took the time to provide all of the information we would need and thoroughly answered our questions. It was a pleasure to deal with him - also very professional and courteous. We love the new doors - good quality. I managed to back into one of the doors after only two short months - didn't allow enough time for door to finish opening. Fortunately, the damage was minimal. We called Precision Door, and Brian came out on Christmas Eve Day and quickly made the repair. It's good as new. We highly recommend this company. it's refreshing to deal with a company that lives and breathes excellent customer service and does high quality work. Thank you!

a little pricey, but went very well

Based on inability to meet a simple appointment window and clearly fabricating excuses, it isn't unrealistic to expect this vendor is unreliable.

I got a tune up and roller replacement coupon from AAA. The tech Gary Richtmeyer was excellent! He was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. He educated me on my opener/door and gave me great advice to make it running smoothly. I will only use Precision from now on and will recommend them to anyone who needs garage door service in the future!

Once I was able to talk to company the service was great.

Gave me a very thorough estimate, including educating me on the reasons I should replace the door. Showed me the components that would be used, and explained all of the work well. Showed up on time after ordering the door, and installed it well. Very happy with the job.

I had a broken bracket and a creaky, squeaky door. Normally I like to try and fix things myself, so I ordered a bracket and some rollers from Amazon which were amazingly inexpensive but high quality, sealed ball bearing nylon rollers. To install them I decided to take each of the brackets off, one by one, and install the new roller. I did that on the top 8 brackets, and then got into some serious trouble when I tried to remove one of the lower ones. I hadn't loosened the tension spring, and didn't have the right tools to get out of the mess I had made, including a door stuck halfway open, and a whole lot of humble pie to eat. It's actually quite amazing that I didn't get seriously injured and count myself quite lucky here. I called at about 8:30pm that night and got a messaging service that was able to schedule an appointment for me between noon and 2pm the following day. My technician, Gary, called about 20 minutes before arriving and arrived on time right at 12pm. Within about 30 minutes he had everything straightened out and even fixed a bracket I did not know was installed incorrectly. He literally whistled while he was working and seemed genuinely happy doing what he was doing, and he instructed me on the proper way to maintain the door to keep the creaks and squeaks away which is what I really wanted to get done. Now the door is quiet, travels up higher than before, and best of all I can get out of my garage again. The price was a little high for 30 minutes worth of work however I'm not complaining, overall a fantastic experience and will both recommend as well as use these folks again if needed.

They repaired the spring so we could use the garage door while waiting to install the new door. They arrived on time. They did a good job. They were straight forward. They seemed knowledgeable. They left the area clean. They were professional and we were pleased with the results. This also changed the garage door opener and the home link system could not be programmed. So they helped me fix this and they were responsive.

The office staff was prompt in contacting me and scheduled an appointment within days of my call. The serviceman was prompt, knowledgeable and provided expert advice on maintaining the garage door opener and provided other information. He went above and beyond to solve the problems with the garage door opener.
