Description of Work: I called about a broken icemaker in my refrigerator, as well a problem with my door (it wouldn't close unless I taped down the light toggle). McPhail Appliance called back that night and set up a service call for the next day. Very prompt, courteous, efficient and helpful. Icemaker was easily fixed and parts ordered to fix door, but temporary fix proved very effective. Parts were in within a few days and service man came the next day. I appreciated his not recommending parts or labor beyond what it took to correct the problems--he easily could have but focused on functionality, which is much improved. A much better seal on the door is allowing the fridge to cool properly. Great job! What a relief to have someone to call when an appliance breaks down and to know it won't require half the price of a replacement appliance to fix it.

Description of Work: MY OLD REFRIGERATOR WAS COOLING POORLY. THE TECHNICIAN DETERMINED THAT THE BURNERS (I BELIEVE THAT WAS THE TERM) WEREN'T WORKING, AND ALSO SPOTTED A PROBLEM WITH THE THERMOSTAT, BOTH OF WHICH HE REPLACED.

+ -1 moreHE IS VERY PROFESSIONAL. HE RESPONDS TO CALLS, (NO SECRETARY, YOU HAVE TO LEAVE A MESSAGE BUT HE DOES RESPOND). HE DIDN'T CHARGE US A LOT AND BASICALLY GAVE US THE INFO WE NEEDED, WHETHER THE DISHWASHERS IN OUR NEW HOUSE WERE REPAIRABLE OR NOT. HE, ALSO RECOMMENDED PLACES TO BUY NEW ONES, BUT TOLD US TO SHOP AROUND AND ADVISED WHAT BRANDS TO PURCHASE. ALL IN ALL I WAS VERY HAPPY AND FELT WE GOT GOOD SERVICE FOR A REASONABLE PRICE. I WOULD DEFINITELY CALL HIM AGAIN.

+ -1 morePROMPT QUOTE FOR REPAIR ON A STOVE AND REFRIGERATOR. COMPANY ORDERED PARTS, AND FOLLOWED UP IN A TIMELY MANNER WHEN THEY ARRIVED. WAS FLEXIBLE IN SCHEDULING VISITS, AND ARRIVED ON TIME. ONE CONCERN: LABOR COSTS WERE NEARLY TWICE WHAT WAS ORIGINALLY QUOTED; MIGHT BE CAREFUL TO INSURE THAT FUTURE LABOR ESTIMATES ARE ACCURATE AND REALISTIC. HOWEVER, OVERALL, THE EXPERIENCE WAS A VERY GOOD ONE. THE WORK WAS COMPLETED EFFICIENTLY AND PROFESSIONALLY. THE COST FROM MCPHAIL WAS LESS THAN HAVING COMPARABLE WORK DONE BY ANOTHER COMPANY, THEY QUOTED FOR TWO SERVICE VISITS, SEPARATE FOR EACH APPLIANCE, WITH INDIVIDUAL TRIP AND MINIMUM LABOR CHARGES.

HE ANSWERED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE STOVE'S SELF-CLEANING FUNCTION (WE HAVE NO INSTRUCTION BOOKLET) IN A HELPFUL MANNER. WILL DEFINITELY USE THIS SERVICE AGAIN.

+ -1 moreMR. MCPHAIL CALLED BACK PROMPTLY, SHOWED UP ON TIME AND DID A GREAT JOB! HE NOT ONLY FOUND THE PROBLEM, BUT ALSO SHOWED ME A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD WITH MY CLOTHES DRYER. THIS WAS NOT SOMETHING THAT HE WOULD MAKE EXTRA MONEY ON AS IT WILL HAVE TO BE FIXED BY A CARPENTER. HE IS TRULY EXCEPTIONAL.
Description of Work: MY DRYER WAS IN NEED OF REPAIR, IT WAS SNAGGING THE CLOTHING AND RUINING SOME OF IT.
