It went great. The guys showed up on-time and were clean, polite and very professional. The knew the industry very well and could advise on colors and hues. During the project we continued to add rooms to the scope as we were completely 'wowed' by not only how well the job was going, but the end results were spectacular and they stuck to budget. A+++ all around from cost to quality to proficiency. There wasn't a single aspect of the work performed that we weren't thrilled about.

The work was very average (hence the C). The people there are very friendly and professional, but there are some things to watch out for. Our house is very old, so the outside likely has lead paint (though we never tested it). They told us they would not grind or sand, but only scrape. That was fine. Turns out "scrape" means only removing the most lose paint. The large chunks of alligatored paint were not scraped out. They told us that would require lead removal. I understand that I suppose, but wish I had been informed before. Second, we asked that all the fascia trim be replaced with PVC. This is so I don't have to worry about it again. We were told verbally that this would be so, but the contract said only if the wood was found to be rotten. This is my fault, as I didn't read the wording carefully enough (though they had a diagram with yellow highlights and the word "replace" over all the boards, the text said "if found rotten") Since it was not found rotten, it was not replaced. Third, one board that was most certainly agreed to be replaced with PVC was not. They said they would take $150 off. This is the 3rd floor and a 25' wide board. This is worth far more than $150. And, the contract called for the addition of a lead cap over a soffit return, and that was not installed. The day they finished (they were quick) they asked me to come and review and give them a check. When I saw this board was not replaced and the lead cap was not installed, I asked why not, and pointed it out in the contract. They replied "oh, do you want that? We can do that" Of course I want that -- it's in the contract. They came, pulled the boards, applied the flashing, and replaced the one board with PVC. They didn't, however, flash the entire length, because the ends of the return intersected some built-up crown molding, so this was too complicated to be done in this contract. Lastly, they call me during the work day, and ask me to come and bring a check right at that moment. You have to manage them to workable times. In short -- good communication, and they seem to be willing to make up for missed stuff, but if feels like the crews have no oversight (how can you miss flashing a 25' board) and you have to really work to define their terms (What does "scrape" mean to you?)

I was not happy with the staining job. I showed the men the cans of stain that I had, but they wanted to match it and use another brand. The matching did not work well. The new trim does not look the same as the trim on the rest of the house. When I pointed this out they did not offer to do it over, they just said I was wrong. They arrived four hours later than they had said, by phone several times, that they were coming. Two men were at our house for a total of four hours. They charged $1400 for this amount of work.. That seems very high to me, even counting the cost of the new clapboards, and the stain. It was a hot afternoon. They laid a cloth down on the vinca plants in the yard, and put their saw on it. This four hot hours under the cloth killed the vinca that was under it. They could have put their cloth down on the sidewalk.

I found Painters Plus to be a reliable, quality, customer-oriented organization. They were very responsive, resolving all issues that we came across. During the power washing process, some of the vinyl on our window trim turned yellow. Painters Plus was able to clean it to our satisfaction. The salesman and workmen were all very respectful and made sure we were satisfied with all aspects of their work before they were complete. The workmen worked quietly and efficiently and were done in just two full days. We could not have asked for a better experience. We had quotes from other companies that were twice what Painters Plus charged. I would not hesitate to hire them again.

The team performed great. They did a pre-painting walk-through to verify all colors and locations. We were gone for the 3 days they were working. They wrapped up as we came home. Very satisfied.

We used a company called Painting Plus back in 2006 to paint our garage and fix a problem with the stain on our back porch. We were very pleased with the work and, when it was time to have the house painted again, called what we thought was the same company. What we did not realize was that we had mistakenly called Painters Plus instead of Painting Plus. Uga from Painters Plus was polite, responsive, and gave a reasonable quote given the amount of work that needed to be done. We went ahead and hired them to paint the entire exterior of the house, stain the back porch and railings, and replace the fascia boards on the front of the house. Another company was coming after the painting was complete to replace the gutters that went on those fascia boards. The work seemed to be done well, but we after they were complete we had problems with the stain on the porch not drying and some spots on the south-facing side of the house bubbling. The main problem, however, came two years after the painting was complete. An ice storm filled the gutters with heavy ice and the weight caused one fascia board and attached gutter to come off of the house and fall down onto the bushes. After contracting a gutter company to put them back up on the house, we realized that they had actually fallen because the fascia board had not been attached to the house properly. Once Uga found out about the problem, he volunteered to refund the cost of the repairs and to also fix the bubbling paint as soon as warmer weather allowed. My suggestion would be to hire Painters Plus to do painting, but perhaps not carpentry.

Workers were prompt and competent and did an excellent job.

Uga took charge of the quote and immediately inspired confidence when he took the time to inspect the house, pointed out areas of rotted wood, explained the options available, and gave a reasonable quote. I liked his attention to detail--he included the painting of our mailbox post and indeed, his crew came through with great work. We had to wait a few days past scheduled for the crew to finish a prior job, but when they started they worked steadily, putting in long days and the project went quickly. Gleydson, who oversaw the crew was extremely responsive and any concerns we had were taken care of within 24 hours. The crew was very hard working, kind, and cleaned up every evening for the next day. The carpentry work was well executed as was the painting. We were very pleased with the results and would definitely contract with Painting Plus again.

We have a large, cedar shake home with green trim and mahogany decks. When the home was redesigned and built, we did extensive research on care, coverage and maintenance of cedar shakes and mahogany decks. We are well informed consumers. Painter's Plus was hired to prep and re-stain the cedar shakes, prep and re-paint the green trim, prep and re-stain the mahogany decks that wrap around the front and side of the home and extend off the back of the home, prep and re-stain the mahogany front and side entrances. The estimates we received for the project ranged between $7,000 and $16,000. Painter's Plus estimate was $11,000 We selected Painter's Plus based on the owner's knowledge of the products, his assurance that he had done work on cedar shakes and that his crew was in-house and not a sub contractor. We checked references. With any painting/staining project the most important step is the preparation. If the preparation is poor, any staining or painting will be poor and not last. The first step in the prep was the power washing with a bleach solution. I was not home for this process. I had left the home and returned within an hour and a half. During this time they completed the power washing. The home is too large to be completed in under an hour and a half. The power washing was done poorly and damaged my home. The pressure used during the power washing was too high and uneven which damaged the cedar shakes. Parts of the home were power washed and others not at all. Gates were left open and my hoses were strewn around the yard. (We have photographs to document that condition and damage to the home.) We called Painter's Plus and they sent a new crew out to re-do the power wash BUT the damage was already done. The replacement crew was very helpful and apologetic. They re-powerwashed the home and tried to correct the damage. Due to the poor power washing, we had to choose a darker stain to cover the unevenness of the the power washing. We wanted a honey color and ended up with a darker brown. The stain was applied but it is the wrong color. The staining is uneven and looks mottled as a result of the power washing. We were informed by the new crew that they could not prep and re-stain the doors, which was not completed. They should have been able to complete this project or the owner should have never promised that this could be completed within the budget/time frame agreed upon. The green trim was scraped down and painted. It looks fine. To prep the mahogany decks, they need to be sanded and wiped with denatured alcohol. I had several conversations with the owner and project manager about the deck prep and was reassured that this could be accomplished. At the time of the deck prep, we were informed that they would reluctantly hand sand the mahogany decks but not wipe with denatured alcohol. They stated that sanding and wiping was not in the original agreement. How were they going to prep the decks if not sanding and wiping with denatured alcohol? There were several disagreements/conversations about how the decks should be prepped. In the past, I had used Benjamin Moore products but was informed by Painter's Plus that Sherman Williams had a better product called Exotic Wood Stain Super Deck. We were then informed by the owner that the Sherman Williams product was not suitable. Instead of a transparent stain, we would need to get a solid stain. The Sherwin Williams stains could not be matched to the current color and we would have to choose a darker color which would cover the beauty of the mahogany decking. I spoke to the Sherman Williams dealer and Benjamin Moore dealers in Franklin and asked questions about product coverage and durability. When I discussed my research and understanding of the product options with the owner of Painter's Plus, I was told by the owner that I was ill informed and that $10/hour workers at Sherman Williams and Benjamin Moore were wrong. During this process, I was receiving conflicting information. I was being provided information from the crew that was consistent with the information i received from the Benjamin Moore and Sherman Williams dealers that did not match the information I was being provided by the owner. Painter's Plus has a "Pay NOTHING until after your house is painted, GUARANTEED the most professional painting you've ever seen!" During this process, I informed the crew and project manager about this guarantee. I have no problem not paying for a poor job or poor service and I am more than willing to pay up for a great job and great service. I was informed that If i did not pay then Painter's Plus would put a lien on my home. I stopped the project and renegotiated the price down to $6,800 for work completed. I was asked by the project manager to call him on April 1st to review the staining and painting. He wants to make sure that the staining and painting has not deteriorated over the winter. Not sure what they will do if it has BUT I will call him on 4/1/16 I was supposed to receive an updated invoice reflecting the change from $11,000 to $6,800 but have not received that as of yet. There is also concern about the company itself. The Insurance coverage is for Romualdo DeFreitas DBA Painting Plus and the Business Card, Marketing Materials and Scope of Work care for for Painter's Plus. Overall for me, my expectation was: You show up on time. Do a fantastic job. I pay you the full amount. I recommend you to family and friends. I write rave reviews. Unfortunately this did not happen and I would like to state that I am well aware that re-staining a home is not easy, that the original look and color can never be replicated due the nature of cedar shakes being weathered and that mahogany is a dense wood that does not readily absorb stain. While not expecting perfection, I did expect professionalism from the owner.

Sales guy is very knowledgeable and answers all questions to provide a good quote. Quality materials. The job was done in 1 week as initially estimated. The painters were friendly and did a great job with the painting and minor repairs. I rated professionalism as C since the cleanup of the yard was not nearly as complete as I expected. I found a handful of nails in the driveway, rolled up tape in the bushes, paint spills on the lawn, and old paint chips everywhere. I spent time walking around cleaning up after them but otherwise not a big deal.

Impressed and would use again. We are hard to please and have high expectations of tradesmen. After interviewing several painters, this one stood out above the rest. First of all, the estimator was the owner; he scheduled an appointment, arrived on time, was well groomed and dressed professionally in business casual attire. He started by explaining what he hoped to accomplish during our meeting (of less than an hour). He first presented his company history, a list of recent references, the type of paint and materials he uses, his warranty and employee training. If we preferred a different brand of paint, he would use that, but his was high quality. He wrote up a firm estimate on the spot. He noticed our mailbox post was newly installed and offered to paint that for free so the entire property looked good. We were not pestered with follow-up calls - it was up to us to contact them and accept their proposal. The pricing was competitive and less than almost all others. The process was also explained - they would assign a project manager, arrive within a week and pressure wash the house with a mild bleach, giving it a few days to dry. This was followed by 2-3days of prep (removing gutters, downspouts, lighting fixtures, house numbers, etc. Painting followed with two coats applied by brush and spray. The entire duration was a little more than a week. We weren't happy with one side of the house because of the "sprayed" look and they repainted without question by brush to our satisfaction. Our garage doors were painted even though we were replacing them later and they returned to paint the new ones, again at no additional charge. We are very happy with the end result. The amazing part is Painters Plus would only accept payment after all of the work was finished and completed to our 100% satisfaction. No deposit or progress payments were required or requested.

They have agreed to correct the wood that was not prepped properly before painting. They communicate very well which I have appreciated.

Painters Plus did an excellent job from start to finish. Uga is very detail oriented and pointed out a number of things that the other contractors hadn't. He noted that we currently had a solid stain on the house, not paint, and gave a good explanation as to why we should use a stain this time around rather than switch to paint. As part of the prep they had us pick four colors that they then painted samples on various parts of the house for us to check out in different lighting conditions at different times of day. Once the project was underway the two man crew who handled both the carpentry and painting worked on our project exclusively from start to finish and completed the entire job in less than a week. They cleaned up the work site each night and put away their tools in the trailer they brought. Either Gleydson (the general manager) or Uga showed up most days to check on the progress and Gleydson came towards the end of the day on the last day for a final check. He found a few small things that neither the crew nor myself had noticed and had the crew finish them up. Again, very detail oriented. There were a couple of carpentry items that came up during the project that had not been seen during the initial consultation but they were hidden, not unexpected and not spotted by the other contractors either. In neither case was the additional cost out of line from what i would have expected. On top of it all they were the lowest bid! All in all I am very happy with there work and would highly recommend them.

Uga and his team were fantastic! Uga always returned my calls promptly, showed up to every meeting exactly at the time it was scheduled, provided information and education about the process and products used, and was extremely professional and knowledgeable. We had a bit of a time constraint for the interior painting job because we were purchasing the house and wanted the painting started immediately after closing and prior to us moving in. Uga moved things around to accommodate our schedule and also brought in an extra team to help get it all done in a very short amount of time. The work was very good. Good attention to detail. Very few mistakes. Any issues we noticed were very promptly resolved. Possibly one of the best things about Painting Plus is that you do not pay for anything until the work is completed to your satisfaction. So not only did they show up when they said they would, complete the work in a timely manner, and do a great job, they also made sure we were happy with everything before the payment was made. I honestly can't say enough good things about this company! Their prices were competitive (we got 4 quotes) and the work was exceptional. I would definitely hire them again in the future!

He explained the project from beginning to end and gave a very reasonable quote. Gleydson (general manager) worked with me to schedule the project and kept me up to date on the details. Once the project started, the team was professional, courteous and helpful, and the work was of the highest quality. Time from initial call to painted house was less than 3 weeks. Painters Plus will be my first call for future painting projects.

Uga and Painting Plus can not come more highly recommended. They did an outstanding job on a very difficult project. The entire crew was professional and highly experienced. In addition to great painting and staining, the carpentry work that they were able to do really set them apart from a lot of fly by night or inexperienced painters. They took care of even the smallest details and made sure everything was perfect. I feel like I am living in a new house. The showed up every day and worked full days until the project was done unlike other painters that constantly seem to be juggling several jobs. I am very pleased with everything about the job and would definitely hire again in the future. The communication was excellent.

Painting Plus did very good work painting our house. We had several other estimates. However we were impressed when Uga came out and did a very thorough job examining the house pointing out painting problems (from previous painters) that needed to be fixed. He showed us sections of wood that needed to be replaced. We got an itemized estimate where we could choose what we wanted done. The painting crew was very professional, courteous and friendly. They did a lot of preparation on the house before they started the painting. The paint looks great and was finished in a few days. They cleaned up after painting and even cleaned the deck for free. There was a question about some materials cost that came out over the estimate. Uga took care of it and only charged me for the amount that he quoted in the estimate I would definitely recommend them and I would use them again.

They were prompt, perfectionists and professional. Cleaned up job after each day of work. Willing to add to the job and re-do something if necessary.

Uga showed up on time and gave a good presentation of his company and progressed work. Every time i called them someone picked up the phone. All work exceeded my expectation. Maybe my best contractor experience.

In a word, wow. Uga and his crew (Elias & Fabio) FAR exceed my expectations. I received his estimate very quickly and there were no hidden costs. Every member of Painting Plus that I interacted with was courteous, polite and professional. For me, communication is key when dealing with a contractor. When I called Uga, he picked up. When I emailed him, he replied. Elias & Fabio were here ON TIME and worked long, full days. On several days worked until after the sun set. Their work ethic was off the chart! My house looks amazing as a result! They replaced some fascia and rake boards, some window sills & trim, garage door trim and re-stained the exterior of the house and all of the trim & shutters. Superior quality work! They also did a phenomenal job cleaning the yard before they left. My wife and I walked around when the job was done and she commented that we’d be hard pressed to even find a flake of paint left behind in the grass. I highly recommend this company and will, without a doubt, use them again for future painting or carpentry projects.

Uga is very courteous and enthusiastic upon meeting. Things went awry quickly once the job started, beginning with him using a different paint co. than the one I made very clear that I preferred. Next they started painting the gutters, which I was surprised to see. In his defense, that was written in the contract, altho I misunderstood it to read that the downspounts would be removed during the job. Who paints gutters and downspouts? As it had already started, I wasn't sure how it could easily be rectified, so I reluctantly let them finish, esp. since Uga was being very insistent on their needing painting. They didn't; I preferred them grey. One of the steps in painting is caulking holes and openings, and they didn't take this step so as "to save time up and down ladders" they just scraped then immediately painted an area. Cleanup was spotty. Uga told us that any leftover paint from the job would be ours, but as there was so little left, we asked if he could leave us another gallon and he agreed but never did. The can that he left us was almost empty and was sludgy, like you'd expect old paint to look. He did come back when some of the paint bubbled and took care of it immediately. Then we paid him. That's when he disappeared. I realized that despite having the original estimate, we had him paint a porch and do some repairs, so the total went up by about 30% and I forgot to ask for a receipt. And I've been asking ever since. Called his office, which is actually his apt. and was told she would send it. Many calls, an unanswered visit to his office / apt. and an email later, no receipt. I'm guessing the response will be the same if I have an issue within the 3 year warranty for the work. I will be using this company again if they honor the three year warranty.

They were punctual, neat, professional and polite. When I called, I got a call back. When I had a question, I got an answer. I would recommend them to anyone I know.
