Completely disappointed. They charge 69 dollar visit visual inspection fee and then 159 for diagnosis. Rip off. They just blame everything and do nothing. Ruin the reputation of the Rodenheiser company

I originally called the company that did my regular maintenance less than a year ago. They told me they couldn't send someone out for 3 days! This in the middle of a cold snap. When I called Rodenhiser, they were able to send someone the next day. While they were not able to completely fix the problem right away - a part was needed - they were able to restore heat while we waited for the part. They came back in a few days and repaired the boiler zone controller.

because the pump is working they just pumped it bypass the float switch and it worked again. Installed cape for the drain outlet in the shower.

I contacted Rodenhiser on the recommendation of an Angie's List customer service representative. The plumber arrived on time, took a cursory look at the problems and put forth an estimate for $1,338 for a garbage disposal replacement and $280 to "rebuild" the leaking faucet, which he barely even examined. I said no, thanks, and paid the $69 estimate fee to make him go away. I then called Automatic Appliance, the Framingham-based appliance dealer that has consistently wowed me with their service for nearly a decade. They installed a new disposal with comparable power and features for $470, about 1/3 the price Rodenhiser quoted. I repaired the leaking faucet myself with a $3 spring after watching a four-minute YouTube video. In all, the work for which Rodenhiser wanted to charge more than $1,600 was dispatched for well under $500. Note this story the next time you call them for an estimate.

The work was cleanly and efficiently done and the sinks completely taken away, allowing for wall removal. The two plumbers were great.

Not easy finding an HVAC company willing to install a gas steam boiler. These guys did it all and did it well, removing the old oil burner and oil tank, installing a Weil McClain boiler including steam piping and hot water, installing gas piping, electrical and plumbing, including all inspections, even leaving me a temporary hot water heater until the furnace installation was completed. They fully accommodated my schedule as well. The town electrical inspector who came after installation was complete confirmed their good reputation.

The company said that they wouldn't come to my house in Brookline but they do service Chestnut Hill which is across the street from me

They were extremely responsive and professional. Someone was dispatched to my home within 24 hours. He accurately diagnosed the problem - that the condensate pump had failed and needed to be replaced. He offered to replace it immediately because he had the part on his truck. The price quote ranged from $1350-$2100 depending on length of warranty I preferred. This seemed extremely high because I had the part replaced once before 3-4 years ago by another company for approx $400. I mentioned that to the installer; he indicated that the price was the price and he was sorry he couldn’t lower it. I found the identical pump online for prices ranging from $35-$75! It looked like an easy swap, so instead of paying Rodenhiser, I ordered the part from Amazon, received it the next day. I have zero experience or training and was able to swap it and fix the problem in literally 10 minutes. I understand that service companies need to charge for labor and mark up parts costs, but a repair I could do in 10 mins for under $50 should not have carried a $1350+ price tag! This was very disappointing, and I will not use them again.

I couldn't recommend these guys more. We had a 21-year old boiler replaced and upgraded, and a new hot water tank installed. I can't think of a single way they could have improved the whole process. From start to finish, they were knowledgeable, on time, clean, considerate, extremely professional and they did exactly what they said they would. The also installed a temporary hot water tank and left electric space heaters on the one night the burner was out of service. Everything is now working as they said it would, and a big bonus is their workmanship actually LOOKS great too! A+++

Peter and Billy installed a mini-split a/c system in my home recently. There were 3 head units on 3 different floors. They arrived on time, discussed the work with me, and explained what they were doing when I would pop in to check on the progress. It was a two-day installation with rain on the first day and heat/humidity on the second. Throughout both days both Peter and Billy remained of good cheer, working efficiently, without a grumble about the weather. An electrician, Chris, joined them on the second day and completed his work quickly. He even took the time to tack up a dangling powerline in the drop ceiling of the basement that wasn't part of the a/c install. Mid-afternoon on the second day everything was complete. Peter walked me through the work they had done, inside and outside. He asked if I had any questions or concerns. I'm very happy with the work that was done and would recommend them to anyone who asked.

Initial estimate was thoughtful and thorough, despite structural challenges. Work was completed quickly and expertly. Team was polite, pleasant, and communicated well. Company's offer was somewhat higher than alternatives, but seemed to be more complete (no subcontractors that were not accounted for), and the company communicated options for obtaining mass save rebates and loans and has supported the process well

From start to finish we have had a great experience with Rodenhiser. Rick Picard came out to look at our system and provided a few estimates for different options while on site. We needed most of our 35 year old central air conditioning system replaced. The communication from the company was impressive. We always knew who was coming and when. They helped with the initial MassSave paperwork and even submitted all of the rebate paperwork for us when the install was complete. Good luck finding another company that will do the same. Our installers (Brian Heno and Dylan E.) arrived on time every day. They were professional, kept us updated on their progress and cleaned up daily. Two very hard working guys. They did a great job with the install. It looks and performs fantastic. We could not be happier with the system now that it is installed. We chose the correct company to work with. This is our second time having Rodenhiser complete a major install at our house. We had them install a furnace several years ago. I highly recommend them for your HVAC needs. Thank you.

They did the job correctly. I know they overcharged me. I just wanted the job done. I overpaid and I would not do that again. Buyer beware!

We called during a heat wave on a holiday week when our A/C broke, so we knew it would take a while to get an appointment, especially as first-time customers. They were able to immediately schedule us for just under a week out, and let us know up top about how their services and payments, etc. work. We actually called another provider simultaneously to see if they could come earlier, but they just ended up giving us the runaround for days instead of just saying they were too busy. They confirmed a smaller time window the night before, and showed up first thing the next day. Abner was awesome, and it was such a huge relief to have someone so nice and professional, explaining everything like we didn't know anything about HVAC (because we don't). He broke down 6 options for us to move forward ranging from the minimum service fee for the cleaning all the way up to addressing everything he saw that was weighing down on the system. He explained which options we could wait on and which ones were higher priority, etc. It feels so rare to get a home service provider with this kind of professionalism these days. I wish these guys did automotive! I didn't rate them on price because I don't have a good comparison. But we will definitely be using them moving forward based on reliability, customer service, and professionalism.

TJ identified the problem in just a few minutes. First he verified that the drain tube wasn’t clogged, and that the condensate pump was working. When this checked out, he was able to determine that the previous furnace installer had screwed into the plastic evaporator drip pan, making 4 holes for water to leak from. TJ simply put some silicon sealant on the screw threads and replaced them, which has worked perfectly. My AC has been running all week due to a heat wave, and there are no leaks. I appreciate that TJ was willing to try an inexpensive fix before insisting on replacing the entire evaporator, which would have been a $2400 job.

This year I decided to upgrade my existing AC unit and install a new unit for the 1st floor. After several days of researching and reading thousands of reviews and getting a few quotes I decided to go with Rodenhiser. Even though they didn't have the lowest quote I choose them based on their reviews and how they handled their negative ones. The got back to me very quickly and the sale consultant Ross Pickett was more then helpful with explaining the entire process so I would know what to expect. Ross even took the time to help with how to go about getting the MassSave energy loan. The install was scheduled for 5 days. There office sent an email with pictures of the technicians so I would know who to expect. Peter and Cory were very profession throughout the entire experience and gave me daily progress reports so I was always update to date with what was going on. They were always on time and at the end of the day they made sure they left the job site clean. There were a few obstacle they had to over come such as rerouting duct work creating new returns for the 1st floor unit and Peter walked me through the various options I had to assure I would be happy with the final project. I still have a few other tasks that need to be done before this project is completed such as duct cleaning on 7/2 and Areo sealing on 7/11, but if my experience his far is any indication of what to expect I am not worried. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to their AC done. It is worth the few extra bucks. I will update my review once everything is completed.

After receiving a quote of over$900 to run 50 feet of wire I asked the electrician to leave. The electrician spent more time acting like a salesman for the company than looking at what was required to do the job. I hired a different company and saved over$700. Stay away from Rodenheiser

Our 18 year old AC system needed to be replaced. They did a great job. Showed up on time and worked to get it completed on time. The work done was excellent and we're happy with the new system. Not the cheapest, but excellent work and worth it when replacing an entire system.

The crew came as scheduled. Did the work quickly and efficiently. They also removed an old oil tank which went smoothly. All aspects of the job were handled professionally.

The plumbers came out to inspect the job and were nice enough. They gave me a verbal quote of $600 for a 90 day warranty. I asked them for a written quote, which they were going to email to me from their tablet. I called the office when it hadn't arrived that evening, and called again the next day. Two days later, after demanding a refund of the dispatch fee, they finally emailed the quote to me. The quote came out 6 times more expensive than the next highest quote for a warranty a 1/4 as long. Their customer service was horrible. If they hadn't taken so long I probably wouldn't have requoted the job.

They arrived ahead of schedule and were very professional. After analyzing and troubleshooting the problem, they provided me with several options and prices. The job got done as promised and so far my central air system is working fine. I would definitely hire them again.
