Person was very nice. Came out to fix leaking angle valves- $428 for one and a half hours of work which seemed quite excessive.

The service call was excellent. Chis was prompt, efficient and knowledgeable he also worked within time constraints that I had. No problems at all with the service that was performed quite frankly I would use them again with one exception. The cost for the job was exorbitant. Based on what I know to replace a 50 gallon gas hot water heater it should cost around $1300, $1400, $1500 however the cost was $2700. Granted the job was done on a Saturday night and the hot water heater had a couple of extras, still the cost for replacement was exorbitant in everyone's opinion I have spoken to since the install. The one thing I would like to add is that as a homeowner I would like to build a relationship with a plumber, electrician, and a handyman for future needs as they arise and believe me situations arise more than one would like but it is hard to build a relationship with a contractor when one feels that maybe they take advantage when they can. Buyer beware.

Their estimate was a little bit less but it's just from past experience with them that I just didn't really want to deal with them. They quickly gave me an estimate but it was for a different product though. We had used them for a boiler which didn't even last 10 years. They always responded and they always came when I had a problem.

Everything went extremely well. Jamie and Casey were extremely professional, helpful, friendly, and polite. They took time to explain everything thoroughly, and were very neat and clean in their work, even when it came to protecting the floors and carpeting -- a rarity in the plumbing profession that was particularly appreciated.

I left a voice mail yesterday to get a quote on a half bath, and was called back at 720am next morning. A bit early, but that was ok. The scheduler took all my personal information before telling me the service call would cost $75, I thought that getting my information and then telling me about this large service fee was inappropriate

Phil, Derick, and Matt from Rodenhiser installed a Tesla car charger in my home. Since I decided to add a dedicated electric service for the car it was a fairly large job: install facilities for a second electric meter, connect to the mains, and run a 100 amp 240 volt cable through the house to the charger. I've been very pleased with the work Rodenhiser did. Throughout the process Phil was readily available by email for questions. The team showed up promptly and did the work meticulously, neatly, and professionally. The charger has worked flawlessly since I turned it on. I'd recommend Rodenhiser (especially Phil, who led the team) for any sort of home electrical improvements.

It went very well. Their office staff was really good. I thought some of the people on site were a little less professional. They could have made sure it worked when they finished the first day so they didn't have to come back. I would not use them for electric work but they were much better for all the other stuff. They had to be careful about promising.

My central AC stopped working on Mothers day. The house and the ac are around 18 years old so I was kind of expecting a hard sell to upgrade and replace everything. I called Rodenhiser because I have seen their trucks in the neighborhood and I am also starting to think about having my furnace replaced so it seemed like a decent choise. So why not find someone that can do both? Their rates are on the high side but it is such a blind item, you have no idea what they really charge so why not go with someone you think is the best? It is all about integrity. OK, so her is how it went. I called and they were very backed up. Kind of a good sign since I wanted the best and the best would be busy. The appoint was scheduled two weeks out. The tech arrived reasonably on time. All good so far. Seemed like a decent guy. The problem was with he motor on my ac condenser (outside). After looking at it for about 10 minutes the tech concluded I needed a new motor. He also wanted to see my furnace and the internal ac components. He was in my basement for about 20 minutes and when he surfaced he had estimates in hand. To replace the motor on the ac it was going to be around $900. I though OK but he told me there would be no guarantees. It may not work and I would be on the hook if there were more issues. The next "tier was somewhere around $1,500 and included replacing a few electrical parts as well. But still no guarantees. So here we go... The next estimate was to replace the entire unit. Inside and out. I forget the number but maybe between 3-5k. He also commented that these systems only last 10-15 years so it was time to replace. Complete BS. Sorry for the term but we all need to focus on fixing things instead of putting them in the landfill. An ac unit can last for 30-50 years with the right attention. Ok then his next push -can we come out and give you an estimate for replacing the furnace and the ac? It makes sense and you should consider it. I actually scheduled the appointment and later cancelled it. So here is the interesting part. I later had my ac fixed by homeserve. The problem was NOT the motor. The problem was a bug got caught in a relay and when the relay triggered the voltage would test OK but the current was lacking because of poor conductance. So in conclusion, Rodenhiser's focus was to get me to spend a lot of money and replace all of my systems. The tech seemed knowledgeable but he very clearly had the intent to replace and upgrade my ac and furnace. He mis-diagnosed the issue and presented various estimates in an attempt to up-sell me. And the insulting part is I actually paid for this sales call. I think it was around $90 but I may be off a few dollars. I do not know if it is relevant but I have an advanced degree in engineering. Just throwing that out there in case it matters. My humble advice is to shop for integrity, do not try to shop for price. They can charge you whatever they want so forget about looking at hourly rates. Find someone with integriry. And Rodenhiser is NOT the one to choose.

Fine...good job with this but concerned to learn that replacement for a unit to centrally cool 4 BR house might be $8k.

I contacted the company a couple of times and twice they said they would have someone call back and they never called. That said, the manager just called to personally apologize and to look into the matter. He assured me that it was unusual and he would find out what happened and take the necessary corrective actions. I do believe that after reading all the good reviews and the fact that the manager called me to follow up after reading my review that my experience was probably not the norm and would suggest that people call the company directly rather than email.

We had a Buderus boiler with an oil burner. After some research, we figured out that we could switch to gas heat by merely replacing the burner and not the whole boiler. Rodenhiser was the only company around that was willing to do the work for us. They did a great job, quickly and efficiently. They did the plumbing to extend the gas line, removed the oil tank, and replaced the burner. I'm probably leaving out a few crucial elemnts. Instantly, our heating bill dropped to less than half. It's over a year later now and it's been great to have gas heat.

It's been a while, so i can't remember many details. But the general gist of it is that they provide excellent service with extremely knowledgable, professional and nice guys. But they are so comparatively expensive that unless it's a really complicated job that nobody else can do, I'd pass on them just 'cause of the price.

Salesperson did a good job of hearing our probelems and challenges with old system and tried to solve those issues with the new system. Installation team worked very hard to get our system in and turned on as quickly as possible. Very courteous and professional. System was installed in line with the timeline discussed.

They came quickly in a crisis with water flooding the floors at a time when many people were also in difficulties with winter damage. They repaired some of the pipes in one room that day, but replaced other ones the next day as they told me parts were cheaper than labor, thus saving me money.

I have an annual contract for AC and furnace maintenance with Rodenhiser ever since my previous contractor disappeared into thin air cashing in the check. Rodenhiser picked up the maintenance for free that year and I have been a loyal customer ever since. I actually will be shortly scheduling my fall furnace maintenance. So far they have been very courteous, scheduling has been a breeze with plenty of options for my convenience. They have been sending also pretty much the same crew which are familiar with the system and notice any changes in performance. Over the years they have offered good and timely advise.

This wa step separate jobs with two separate crew. In both jobs the providers were friendly courteous and knowledgeable. They answered all my questions and offered detailed explanations of the work to be done with options of different solutions at different price levels. They did not try to up sell me. But we're honest about the options. I will definitely use them again.

The salesperson representing this company was great. Very professional and punctual. He made it seem like this whole process would go off without a hitch. We signed the contract and services began a few days later. We are new homeowners and are just starting to learn about heating and cooling systems. The installation took 2 days which is what was quoted to us. The AC unit worked perfectly and we really thought things went well. Come to find out they installed the dehumidifying pipe carrying water across our basement which leaked causing a massive flood in our basement. This caused damage to the items we had stored down there in addition to the structural components of the basement. The heating and cooling system which was sold to us as being "high efficiency" was installed like it was done by a small child. The parts were not sealed, the vents were not connected properly. There was cold air leaking from everywhere! Lastly, they installed the gas exhaust pipe on the front of our home (which is just esthetic but still), the exhaust pipe was approximately 4 feet from the ground which is not to code (per the city of Hopkinton). Given the winter we just had, if we had a snowstorm in which the snow covered the exhaust pipe, this could have caused Carbon Monoxide poisoning leading to the death of our pets and possibly us! Overall, this experience made me feel like a fool for trusting that they would install things correctly and not damage my home. I will never use Rodenheiser again and if you do I recommend you watch them like a HAWK. UPDATE: after my father stepped in, they came by and completely reinstalled the system. It is now properly installed. The gas vent has been relocated to another location several feet off the ground. They also cut wood to fix the original hole that was placed for the initial gas vent. They also painted it. Overall, their response was appropriate given the issues I had with the initial install. They quickly responded to the situation and it was solved. Unfortunately, I still believe It should have been correctly the first time around.

Went pretty much as they scheduled it. No surprises, no problems.

Phil , and his helper Derek, explained what would be reviewed and set about their work. They spent about 90 minutes checking over the panel, outlets, switches, GFI functions, replacing smoke/CO2 detector batteries, etc. They check the outside meter installation and outlets. They even found that the bathroom exhaust vents were incorrect and misinstalled, something I had never noticed. They wore shoe covers while in the house and worked efficiently. We went over a number of suggested updates and left me with a written estimate of all the work that could be done. He answered my questions and didn't try to close a deal. I've used Rodenhiser plumbing and heating for years. It's great to see that their new electrical service has the same high standards and professionalism. I'll definitely consider them future future electrical needs.

They were very helpful in explaining our options for AC systems, including low, middler and high end products as well as available rebates and discounts available depending on the efficiency of the system we chose. We have central AC upstairs only and they replaced this system plus created a drop in the cieling on the first floor so that we now get some air on the first floor as well. Very responsive and punctual. The job took longer than they expected but they stayed that evening until it was finished and did a great job.

Pros: - When scheduling service, the phone rep was extremely helpful and professional. Cons: - The charge was an astronomical and outrageous $637.46 for 2 lbs of R22. That is $319 / lb !! Even with all the forecasted shortages, a 30 Lbs cylinder of R22 costs between $300 to $400 (check it yourself online.) I agree that a markup is called for by all contractors; BUT how can anyone justify marking-up a product from $14 to $319 ?? over 2,100%. - When I called for the service I asked specifically for someone to replenish the Freon on the small unit AC; so no time should be spent on diagnosing anything else (since the unit was just serviced by another party) - The technician insisted on getting paid first before any service is rendered. - The technician was going writes my credit card' # and code in a paper. A fair charge for this job should have been to charge for the R22 (material) with a reasonable markup in the invoice + an hourly labor rate for adding it .

Overall experience was very pleasant. The Rodenhiser team was very responsive and prompt. They handled every aspect of the project including the mass save heat loan and discounts. Very professional and clean work.

They charged a fee to do that and do something more comprehensive. They wrote up an estimate but I didn't go forward. They showed up on time. I have no issues there. I chose to not implement what they recommended. The estimate they gave me was more than I wanted to spend.
