I called to have someone come to my house to give an estimate on spraying for ticks and to perform some landscaping work. The owner told me that they did not spray for ticks, and recommended someone else. I called this other business, left a message, and they never returned my call. D&L also made an appointment to come to my house to give an estimate. They called the afternoon before the scheduled appointment, and canceled. That was the last I've heard from them. They haven't tried to reschedule the appointment.

We made a call for an estimate. Owner responded right away, and arrived as scheduled. Patiently listened to our ideas and only made suggestions when asked (instead of insisting on own way of conducting business). The only reason why the project didn't move forward was because my husband and I ourselves reached an impasse. (Apparently we are still unable to work it out, so we'll not be engaging the services of this landscaper.)

They were very responsive and had very good ideas. They gave a lot of time for the job and the workers were very good. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

Working with D & L was a great experience. We panicked when our former landscaper quit the biz, but a fast check of Angie's List and call to Dorrie got us an almost immediate site survey from her. She came back to the house to discuss the job and give us an estimate, and the work was completed as soon as the weather cooperated. Dorrie's crew of strapping young men were fast, efficient, and did everything we had asked for (and more) at the agreed-upon price. The yard was transformed from a mess of dead leaves, road salt, and overgrown shrubs to a serene backdrop to our spring blooms. We highly recommend them.

They did a great job. They were professional and they didn't leave a mess when they were done. We are considering call back for another project in the backyard.

Not sure where to turn to to find a contractor to accomplish some hardscape work that we desperately needed done, I turned to Angie's list. After browsing many different company reviews, I narrowed it down to D&L and one other company that I found on Angie's list and then 2 other local companies here in town. Dory from D&L responded quickly and came out and met with my husband and I. She helped us tremendously with our indecisiveness and even came up with some cost saving ideas to help us stay within our budget. She did not try to oversell us on labor or materials. We were impressed with the reviews we had read, and after meeting her in person we knew that D&L was the right company for our job. Dory, Brian and Manny were the crew on our job and they are a 'dream contractor'! They were friendly, timely, neat and meticulous! Some days they worked until 7pm! The job was finished within the time frame expected and the cost was as quoted. They take great pride in their work and keeping a customer for life. This is our 4th house and having dealt with various contractors, I can honestly say that I have never met one that we absolutely have zero complaints about! Wait..there is one complaint! That we didn't have a larger budget to have them do a few more projects!! Hopefully next year we will have the budget to also have them put in a new paver back patio with fire pit and also put a new lawn in the front. I am going to attempt some pictures however please bear in mind that we are doing some of the landscape work ourselves and it is a work in progress..but you will be able to see the beautiful hardscape work. I would hire Dory, Manny and Brian again in a heartbeat!

Our experience with D & L Landscaping was excellent. Dory was very responsive and punctual. Her workers did a tremendous detailed job. We met Dory at the landscapers yard to pick out our pavers and she was very helpful. She helped us configure what would be needed and stopped me from "over-doing" it and saved me some $$ which was great ! They worked hard the entire time on sight and did whatever it took to make it right. "Good enough" is not in Dory's vocabulary. She makes sure the job is done to perfection. They were very polite, even when dealing with my crazy neighbor (everybody has at least one). In fact, many of our neighbors commented on how hardworking Dory and her crew were and said they would certainly give D & L a call if they ever needed work done. We absolutely LOVE our patio and we plan on having D & L do our front walk and line our driveway with pavers too. They are absolute professionals and I couldn't recommend them enough.

Everything went very well. Showed up on time for estimate. Work was in line with estimate. Saved us money by re-using old bricks. Came up with new ideas that make the walkways look exceptional. Three people worked on the walkway and they were all great.

Great landscapers. Dory spent a lot of time discussing our future landscaping plans with me and my wife. A very detailed estimate for a large project was provided. Although the project will not be started this year, D&L continues to mow our lawn as needed (which is a challenging project in itself given the size and grade of the hill in our backyard) as well as seeding and fertilizing portions of our lawn. Dory and her employees are always very professional, do an excellent job and respond to any of our questions. Her prices are very reasonable.

Overall I was pleased with the work Dory and her team did. She got back to me right away which is nice these days. I had my yard cleaned up for the spring and the lawn de-thatched. Normally this is something I would do but the price was worth considering I would have to rent a machine and spend the day getting the lawn how I wanted it. I have a little less than acre of grass. I would use this company again.

(03/27/2010) Dory arrived as schedule on time and was pleasant and knowledgeable. She explained and answered all question and expressed enthusiasm. I received a quote the next day as she stated. I was very satisfied and will hire Dory for the lawn repair job. UPDATE (06/05/2010) Job was performed as scheduled.

Dory is a pleasure to work with. Everything is done very professionally. She is knowledgeable about plants and has great ideas about how to best plan a layout. What we did was fairly simple, but we spoke with her about other projects, including walls.

Dory was fanstastic form the initial planning through to completion. One of the first things we had to do was to remove an old tree. Dory helped us find a tree removal service. She was patient as we researched a number of options for removing the tree and was ready to start work as soon as that issue was resolved. Dory was very helpful in the planning, offering advice and helping us set realistic expectations. Her estimate was very detailed and she recommend areas where we could save. Once on site, she and her crew worked straight through and finished the job right on schedule. We encountered a few unexpected issues, but Dory and her team kept us fully informed and resolved them quickly and professionally. The workmanship was fantastic and the yard looks great. I can't wait for the garden to be planted and the grass to come in.

We needed a new walkway put in. Dory responded to our call quickly and made an appointment to come by to give us an estimate. She arrived on time for the estimate and went over our options with us. She arranged to come back within two weeks and do the job. Dory and her crew arrived when they said they would and did a very proffesional job installing the walkway, being done within a day and a half. It looks great and we would use them again for more work when we need it.

I called Dory and made an appointment to come by for an estimate. She called to confirm the time the day of the appointment. She looked over my property and gave me a quote on the spot, then told me she thought they'd be back on Thursday to do the work. She emailed me the night before to say when they were coming, and she emailed me the day after to see if I was happy. They did a great job for a great price. The work was beautiful!

Excellent. Dory gave me an fair estimate, arrived to do the work when she said they would and they finished a little sooner than planned. Manny and Brian, who work with her, took time to make sure there was no damage to my property, that everything was cleaned up and disposed of correctly. Many of my neighbors commented on how good their work was.

They did good work, but here's the interesting thing. A very expensive chainsaw disappeared from an unlocked shed. I've never had anything stolen in the 15 years that I've lived here. I know that I didn't lend it to anybody, and I had actually taken it out a few weeks earlier to try to get it serviced, so I know it was there and I know exactly where I put it. I called and asked them about it, and they said they didn't know anything about it. Its just remarkable that we've never had anything stolen and that shed has been unlocked for a decade, and it came up missing around the same time that they were here. Its preventing us from hiring them again.

Everything is fine. We will be using them again. They are prompt and professional.

Dory was efficient, hard-working and paid remarkable attention to detail.

I had this patio put in at the beginning of the summer in time for the holidays, and it looks just as good almost 4 months later as the day they completed the job. All calls were answered timely and professional to get the estimate and set up the job. I will definitely recommend them to friends.

She was fantastic. She did everything she said she was going to do. She was punctual and professional. Now we have a great walkway.

DORY AND HER EMPLOYEE BRIAN COMPLETED THE PROJECT WHILE I WAS AT WORK AND I RETURNED TO FIND THE NEW PATIO COMPLETE AND NEATLY SWEPT. I WOULD HIRE THIS COMPANY AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT.
