They responded quickly, provided an estimate and explained billing and schedule. I was very happy with their services and will hire them again next year to take care of the lawn all season.

The owner/contact person immediately told her to "go to F***king ****." Honestly, this is a first. It may go to say that we've never had this bad of a response to a simple inquiry.

He is very rude, disrespectful and doesn’t listen to clients that are non-USA native. He prefers not to take the businesses than trying to understand someone’s accent, I have never being treated so disrespectfully in my life.

We've had Dory and her crew do two jobs for us . The first was for a patio that was a challenge due to a grading issue which had to be overcome so as to tie it into an existing deck . We had several quotes and ideas all of which seemed more expensive than we were willing to go . Dori's idea was a simple one ..so simple in fact that it had never even occurred to us . Along with a couple more suggestions along the way , one which saved two of our favorite shrubs, it was all for less than any other bid . Which is why we called Dory back to work on our front steps and brick walkway along with the block flower beds that are on either side of the front steps . All had settled badly due to water erosion . Once again a couple of ideas and suggestions from Dory before and during the job made it look better than we had hoped. D & L Landscaping have worked for me for 15 years to my complete satisfaction. Dory Hilliard, the owner, and her staff are courteous, professional and efficient. Dory returns all calls. D & L charges a fair price for the services they provide. D & L has all the equipment and tools to properly do their work. I would never consider employing any landscaping company except D & L. They have done so many jobs, big and small, for me over the years, always professionally and pleasantly. I know I can always count on them to do what is needed. For any landscaping and hardscaping job, you will not find anyone superior to D & L.

I left a voicemail and had a call back from the owner within a couple of hours - her return message was very polite, but she informed me that they don't do snow removal in Salem NH, despite the fact that it's listed on the website. (Possibly that list was for landscaping only, not snow removal.)

D & L Landscaping has exceeded our expectations! Dory and her crew are attentive to detail, prompt, courteous and professional. They reseeded a portion of our lawn, which had been damaged by a previous landscaper and the results are excellent. We are very, very pleased with their work.

Not well. I waited for a long time because I thought I would like working with this company. Very disappointed that I wasted my time.

They never returned my phone call or e-mail

We played phone tag a few times. I left one last message that she never returned. I was very interested in talking to her because she's local and she gets very good reviews, but she's impossible to get a hold of.

Great work and willingness to repair instead of tearing down and rebuilding. Some of the concrete was crumbling. The repairs consisted of cleaning up the broken concrete, adding some reinforcing material and then new concrete. After a few days the workers primed the steps then came back and put 2 coats of weatherproof paint on the steps. It would have cost several thousand dollars to replace the steps. Nice to have a company that will consider and are willing to be creative with repairs.

Just as I expected their service to be and then some.

We had two projects the fall of 2015. We decided to remove our deck and have a three season room built in it's place. Under the deck, we wanted a nice patio that would span from the driveway along the back of the house, about 30'. We wanted to create a outdoor space where we could have a shaded (from the new 3 season room) lounge area and future outdoor kitchen. We wanted a landscaping team that could share our vision and had very good reviews and experience because this would be a show place of the back yard. We search Angie's list and found D&L landscaping. The first day Dory came by, I could tell she was the right person and company for the job. Dory had my wife and I go to Landscaper's Depot in NH to look at different stones and pavers to see what we liked. When we got to Landscaper's depot, they knew Dory and couldn't say nicer things about her. They told us we wouldn't be disappointed. We found the natural color slate patio and just loved it. We communicated the choice to Dory and she quickly gave us a quote and a start date. Before Dory could start, the three season room had to be built where the construction team would be inside and not working where Dory and her team need to work. The three season room was in development, and going slower than expected. Dory was flexible and moved her start date twice for us. She was great! When the construction team moved indoors, Dory and her team started and quickly moved along. It was cold. The slate was different thicknesses causing more work laying down and leveling. A little more excavation was needed, Dory and her team were great! They moved quickly and efficiently. Dory and her entire team were always polite. They were always there when they said they would be, they worked hard in the unusual cold weather we were having, they kept the work space clean and neat when they left for the day. When she was done, the finished patio was even more beautiful than we could imagine. We love it and can't wait for next year's warm weather! D&L Landscaping / Dory is outstanding. I've already ask if we could expand on the patio, the front walkway and some landscaping in the backyard. I will recommend Dory and her company to anyone needed some landscaping work. Price, flexibility, design and workmanship is exceptional.

I moved to Haverhill and needed help with lawn care This landscaping service provided me with bi-weekly lawn care and will also take care of snow removal in the winter. They work very efficiently as a team and do an excellent job.

D & L has been doing maintenance on my lawn for a few years. I couldn't be more pleased. The crew is polite and careful. If I need something special done, they are always responsive. If I need the yard to look extra good for a party, they come early to spruce things up.

Dory and her crew did a great job once again! This was the 2nd job we hired them for. They were punctual and tidy and took their time to make sure it was done right. She is honest and fair and always does the right thing not just the easy thing which leads to a quality job that will last.

Dory was very communicative and also very much a perfectionist. The job came out perfectly. Her crew was all very friendly and hard working. They kept the site clean during the job and tidied up everything at the end of the workday. I really appreciated that they even worked late on Friday so we could enjoy the firepit over the weekend. They truly care about the quality of their work and also about making the customer happy. After this job we let go of our regular lawn company and hired D&L for weekly service.

I was very pleased with D&L Landscaping. My large yard looked beautiful all summer. I was contacted via e-mail for questions, bills, and to keep me updated with any concerns about my property. The people who came to my home were professional and pleasant. They trimmed, edged, cleaned up mulch beds, and mowed once a week. My neighbors were also impressed by the service and the quality of work.

We received a call back to set up a time for an estimate within a few days of contacting D & L Landscaping. We set up an appointment in the late afternoon for the following week on Wednesday . We made certain to be there at the agreed upon day and time. They did not show. We understand that things happen, and we would have rescheduled, no problem, but they didn't call to let us know there was an issue with the time/day. We were pretty surprised since they have good reviews. Not a good sign, though.

It all went perfectly. Very professional and conscientious company. Dory kept in touch via e-mail throughout the entire project. Overall they did excellent work and we are very happy with the results.

Dory and her team removed an old concrete walkway which was no easy task. To complicate matters our gas line ran underneath it. They then went through major steps to level and insure the pavers would be stable and in place. The best part was watching Dory and her team work. Hard to find this kind of attention to detail and craftsmanship these days. I would love to pave everything!

It never happened. As mentioned we were slated for the month of June and as the month approached after the reasonable quote was provided, we were given a scheduled time frame for the week of the 15th. As we entered that week, we were told that due to being tied up with a current job that ran into unforseen delays, they needed to reschedule us for the week of the 29th. We understand those sort of delays occur and were okay with rescheduling. We did express at this point an eagerness to have it done during the spring to take full advantage of the spring cleaning quoted. By now, we had already waited for this scheduled time for about 5 weeks. As noted, we understood and accepted being rescheduled for another 2 weeks for the reasons noted. As the week of the 29th approached, we were texted that they would come on either the 1st or the 2nd, and said day would be finalized on the 30th. On the 30th, it was scheduled for the 2nd and to beign at noon. The morning of the 2nd, I am told that this provider's lead landscaper did not show up for work and they cannot locate him, so we will have to be scheduled again (to a time not yet known) as well as their other respective clients until the lead worker can be located. We did try to sympathize and understand, but on what I will admit is a selfish note, here we are 7 weeks later and have only received the quoting and rescheduling capabilities of this provider. The provider did give on final text in trying to personally do the work herself at some poiint to be scheduled. She had not yet heard from her lead worker at this point yet. She did also express an understanding if we went elswhere at this point. It was nice for her to give the final offer and professionalism to us. However after two reschedulings wherein the 2nd reschedule goes against her expressed upstanding practice of her workers disclosed during the quote process we lost all confidence in a 3rd appointment attempt. We just felt at that point dispite her efforts, it would continue to be rescheduled and by September we may or may not have the patio we wanted to enjoy for the whole summmer. I cannot judge the quality of work, because as noted we did not get the work done. We were looking forward to this getting done and was initially very excited to work with this provider. It is just a shame it could not be worked out. I wish the provider well with all their clients in the future, but I cannot offer a job well done to them.

Dory and her team are conscientious and hardworking. They often work past 5PM if required. I am often very critical of contractors, having several underwhelming experiences both with the house and the yard over several years, but I can honestly say that D&L often exceeds my expectations -- a rarity for me. I wholeheartedly recommend them. I think the biggest problem you'll have is their availability because they are in such high demand.
