D & L Landscaping

First cut of the season. It was delayed by rain, but they came out the next day and did the work.

D & L did a Spring Clean Up for me and it was perfect. Communication was great, and very easy via Angies list messages. I really appreciate that because work for everyone is busy and this was just the best! The yard was a mess just like everyone's! and is much much too large for me to handle. Dory asked me specific questions in regard to exactly what I wanted done - again- excellent customer service/concern. I have an area I keep brushy for the birds to refuge in all year - and she understood what I wanted. When I came home to see how beautiful and impeccably clean it was- it was wonderful! Thank you to Dory and her crew!! Will definately be calling again and I hope they stay in the area!

The installation of the pavers went very well as did the wall extension. Dory and team were very professional and friendly. Great responsiveness on phone calls and emails. Very thorough when prepping the site and making sure everything was set properly. I was very pleased with the entire job and would definitely use them again for any future hardscape / landscaping work.

Dory and her team from D & L Landscaping did such an awesome job, I would definitely hire them again and would strongly recommend them. I needed 2 walkways put in, I was having difficulties choosing the bricks I wanted to use, I wasn't really crazy about going with just gray or just red. Dory showed me a design that she had recently done which mixed the red bricks with the gray bricks and immediately I loved it. It looks fantastic, I have received so many compliments on it. The new plants that they put in look fantastic along with the mulch. Removing the overgrown bushes will give me a chance to add what I want. Also, I wanted a flag pole and I didn't know how I was going to have it put up if I bought it. I told Dory about it and she said that they could do it. It is a 20 foot fiberglass flagpole which they cemented in and it looks beautiful. They put a little wall around it so I could put flowers around it. Everyone is amazed at how great everything that they did looks. I am so happy that I hired Dory and her team. They are hard workers, showed up when they said they would and the price was very reasonable.

D&L provided me a quote for landscaping service which included regrading part of my yard and laying sod. They did great work and were professional and punctual. Of the multiple quotes I received for the job, D&L was most competitive. I would highly recommend them for your landscaping project.

I was very surprised when Dory showed up at the house on Sunday Morning. Due to a goof on my part I had mixed up the days. But the fact she was willing to come and give me an estimate on a Sunday gave her a gold star in my mind. I showed her around the yard and told her the work I wanted done. She said she would get back to me with an estimate which she did a few days later. This time of the year they are very busy and with a personal problem thrown in there was some lack of communication and date setting for the work to begin. But we finally set a date. A young man by the name of Adam was selected to do the work required. Adam is a very polite hard working young man. As I would check on the progress he would always ask if he was doing exactly what I wanted and if any changes were needed. He was very agreeable. Adam's equipment broke down on the last part of the project which meant he had to finish it manually. Although I expressed my sympathy to him and I could tell he was upset because it had been a long day he kept his cool, never complained and just kept going. He is one hard worker. I was happy with the results and would hire Dory and her crew again.

I went out for quotes for a landscaping job; grading and a walkway. D & L Landscaping were very professional and prompt in their response and quote. Their quote was reasonable but I went with another vendor. I would consider D & L for other landscaping work.

All I can say is INCREDIBLE! Our yard was so overgrown with Ivy and weeds we needed someone to come help us get a fresh start. They took care of everything and also took it away. Dori suggested stone under one of our big pine trees as grass does not grow there. She put stepping stones in that now lead to my new hammock. Can't wait till spring when they can come back and do some design work!

We have used D&L for a few years now. They do a great job and never fail to respond in a timely manner. We have a very difficult driveway to plow, and it never fails to amaze me how well they manage to do the job, under the circumstances. D&L is very efficient, I highly recommend them.

Dory and workers were prompt, efficient, careful and left the site in excellent condition. This work made a huge improvement in the appearance of our house. Dory was very responsive to our requests and communicated promptly and well about scheduling. I would definitely use them again.

They are fabulous. I have had them for many years as my regular landscaper year round at my home, at my office, and at my summer home, and have never had an issue. The owner, Dory Hilliard, is responsive, patient, expert in her advice and suggestions, and is wholly committed to doing the best possible job. And she succeeds. She maintains a great crew of people who work with her, and who are always responsible and professional. I have had her do so many things in all of my yards, and each time she has done an excellent job. If I have questions, or ask her to do additional things, she is patient without a fault, and is ALWAYS accommodating. I would recommend her with the highest accolades. D & L is the BEST.

Called and you always have to leave a message. No on ever answers. I left my name and number but they never called back. I think I said it was a small job so that probably did it. They must not be interested in small jobs. Too ba

Went well. Dory was very helpful in design choice, since I had no clue. Work was done on time, and appears to be a quality job (admittedly, time will confirm this). Dory and her crew are friendly and hard- working. They plowed right through the job, which is helpful since we use the walkway every day.

I should be ashamed that I have not written a review for this company sooner. I am very happy to have time now to enter a great review for a great company. I called to have an estimate, Dory was able to complete the estimate at our first visit. She cautioned me she may not be able to get a perfect match on the stone. Within a day she presented a paver that was practically identical. Within a week the job was complete. As a side note to how pleased I was with this company... I have had contractors in the past that I found myself cleaning up my yard at the end of their work day of lunch debris,coffee cups,soda can- NOT this company they were great. At the completion of the job, I was sitting on the patio enjoying the great work knowing I had the experts installing , the price was the best and the long term beautiful outcome I know will last for years.

D&L did an excellent job; we have no complaints about their service. They arrived promptly, worked efficiently, and charged as agreed. However, when we asked for an estimate for regular spring and fall clean-ups in the future, they never responded. The managerial end of things needs some improvement --- hence the overall B rating rather than an A. However, it was still better than that of some other landscapers who never got back to us at all, and we would definitely use D&L again.

EXCELLENT!! Dory and crew transformed our pool area from dirt and weeds into a beautiful resort looking pool area. She was able to finish in time for our son's Graduation party which will be held this Saturday. I highly recommend D & L Landscaping!! We will definitely have them back! l

First, I am shamefully late sending in this report. Sorry Dory! I called D&L to do some landscape/hardscape work on our new home. From the initial call, Dory kept in touch and came out quickly to give us an estimate. She was very knowledgeable, pleasant and professional. She had great recommendations as we decided what should be done. She & her crew performed the work while we were away, but she kept in constant touch. At one decision point during the work, Dory could not reach us, so she took the initiative to do the job they way she thought best ... the finished product was terrific!. We have more work to be done this spring and I will definitely call D&L again. Highly recommend.

Overall it went great. Dory was terrific to work with. She worked with my ideas and made suggestions for improvements. She and her team were prompt, professional and responsive. Clean-up was carefully attended too. The end result was a beautiful walkway that I've received many compliments on. I had a few concerns/changes that were addressed by Dory after the job was done and Dory continued to be great to work with. I would definitely use Dory again for future hardscape work and I recommend her highly.

Dory, the owner, was friendly and extremely professional from beginning to end. She helped us work through our ideas until we came up with the right design for the right price. Her bid, in fact, was more than $10,000 less than another bid we received. We liked that Dory didn't try to talk us into doing more than we really needed - she listened and helped to come up with the right solution for our family. The construction process went quickly and smoothly. When Dory & crew had the stones all laid out, she asked us to make sure we were OK with the design before everything was secured. My husband and I realized that the fire pit was not exactly where we wanted it. Dory said that was no problem, so they disassembled and rebuilt it for us the next day. Also, Dory and her team went above and beyond by digging huge granite rocks out of an old path in our yard and relaying them for us somewhere else. Overall, we could not have been more impressed with the company. The craftsmanship is just excellent. Our family ended up with an outdoor area that has completely transformed our backyard - for an affordable price! Before, we really didn't use the yard much. Now we use it all the time. We spent many, many evenings around the fire pit from spring until fall. We would highly recommend D & L Landscaping.

The work was originally scheduled for early July 2011, but there were several weather delays, so it was not completed until September. This was not a problem as we were out of town until mid November. I asked D&L to send me a photo of the completed job and they sent me several by Email. I mailed them a check in mid September. I did not see the work myself until mid November, but it looked even better than the photos. We live in two places, so we are out of town a lot. I have had good luck asking the supplier to provide photos of the work when it is outside. This has worked very well and I am comfortable paying an invoice when I am satisfied with the photo. I may also ask a friend to stop by and take a look.

We found them on the list. We spend $70 on a general visit. We have them mow, weed whack and lawn and garden maintenance. We would tell others that we think that they were responsive. The person that came down to look at everything and give the quote at the time took the time to look at everything we wanted to show. They have shown up on every Monday so far like they said they would. We thought that the price was reasonable.

We were just as happy using Dory, Brian and Manny as we were the first time. They put up with my indecisiveness and gave us cost saving ideas again. They were on time, left everything clean every day and spent the time getting everything just right, even if it meant spending more time then they thought! They also removed an old driveway/basketball court that was in the back yard and they went over and above the original estimate by leveling off/grading/seeding some areas in the back that we didn't anticipate doing originally. While we couldn't afford to have them do everything we want to accomplish.....they have turned both the front and back yards into something we can be really proud of. We have been using the fire pit non-stop! We only wish that they were closer to us so we could use them for regular maintenance. I would highly recommend using Dory and the crew for any of your landscape/hardscape needs. (If I can figure out how to post pictures again, I will add some before/after pictures of their new work.)

Previously I had given D&L Landscaping a bad grade due to a simple mistake, after working with Dory and her crew I'm changing that grade to an A. They were on-time, hard working, pleasant, professional and reasonable priced. I am pleased enough with their work that I am having them back for late fall and early spring cleanup.

It is impossible to judge how this company would perform because they did not show up for a scheduled estimate. It is frustrating giving up a beautiful day waiting for someone to show up for a scheduled appointment. If the company could not make it due to another job, illness etc. a simple phone call would have prevented me from hanging around and wasting a whole day. Very disappointing.

She was fantastic, meticulous, and very reasonably priced.
