As Allen was performing the work on the furnaces, my tenant called to inform me that he was getting no heat the previous night from the heat pump system (which is a separate unit not under contract with Berry Mechanical). When Allen had completed the list of items in the contract we entered the apartment (with tenant's permission) and he spent 45 minutes to an hour troubleshooting, fixing, and then testing the system. I advised him to charge me whatever it would cost and he said "Don't worry about it". This is a very reputable and very thorough company. Above and beyond! Thank you.

We had a rocky start because they didn't return my initial call. I then discoverded that they were moving their office that day. After that they were on-time, courteous, an professional.

Allen from Berry Mechanical was prompt to arrive. He solved the problem explained above. He recharged the system. He explained everything that he did. It was a great relief to finally get the right person to solve the problem. This is definately the company that I will use for all my heating and ac needs.

The installation was fine. We really liked dealing with the fellow that came to examine the house and recommend things. His name was Jamie. He was awesome. The pricing was okay, it was standard.

Couldn't have been better. Responsive on a weekend; professional workmanship was done with good spirit under somewhat trying physical environment; fair price.

Our old heating system, although running, was beginning to give off strange hot metal odors so we decided to have it replaced. In all we had 4 heating contractors give us estimates. Berry Mechanical's was not the cheapest but we decided to have them do the work because of their very professional presentation. Jamie Beckwith gave us 3 different options to choose from and explained each in detail giving us the benefits and shortcomings of each, and their prices. After deciding on the unit we wanted we called and had Jamie draw up a firm proposal. They gave us a start and finish time and lived up to it. They were in and out of here in 1 day as promised. The crew started at approx. 7:45 am and we had heat by 5pm. They had their sub contractors scheduled and all arrived at their scheduled time. I have had other contractors do work for us but Berry Mechanical was by far the very best I have ever had do work for us. Their followup services were just as good. We were entitled to 3 different rebates and they were very helpful and gracious helping us muddle through the process of getting them. Another great thing about them is the fact that there was never a gruff, angry or off color word spoken in all our dealing with them. As far and the wife and I are concerned, they are simply the greatest people to do business with. I would heartily recommend them to anyone looking for heating or cooling services.

I was referred to Berry through a family member and they were great. I called Berry to come out and assess the state of the HVAC systems in my recently purchased home. I wanted to see the general health of my equipment and if there was anything that I needed to do before using my A/C this summer. While, in the end, I found out that my HVAC system was not very well put together, the experience with Berry was great. Allen provided me with a thorough assessment of the systems' operations and showed me where and why my system was not functioning well (units were grossly oversized for my needs, ducts were undersized, boiler kept hitting temp limit and shutting down, etc.). In the end, I have a much better understanding of my system and why certain things are behaving as they are as well as a list of things I can do to improve it (including things I can do on my own). When I need to do the work to improve my system, I plan on using Berry.

Great overall experience. They explained the problem, the solution, and helped me understand how my AC worked and what I could do quickly and cheaply to fix a number of issues we've been having. Highly recommended.

I hired Berry Mechanical, found via personal reference, to install air conditioning in my 1845 house. The sales manager, Jamie Beckwith, came to my house twice to assess my needs and provided a detailed assessment and quote. The work was scheduled within a few days of my decision to go ahead and was completed in about 8 hours. The Berry team were very professional and consulted me whenever there were questions or decisions to be made. They cleaned up very nicely after the job was complete, and then sent me the paperwork for a rebate all completed with instructions on how to send it in. I couldn't be happier with their work and would recommend Berry to anyone looking for AC installation.

I had seen all of the great reviews for Berry Mechanical on Angie's list and decided to give them a call. My current heat and a/c were still functioning but at 27 years of age they were hardly energy efficient. Jamie was GREAT! He was very thorough in his analysis of the systems that were in place and made good recommendations. Within a couple of days he had sent a very detailed estimate and also included separate estimates for upgrades that we had spoken about. Berry also pulls all of the permits so there was no need to hassle with city hall. I was lucky enough to have them start right away. The crew was fantastic! They were all very professional, polite, and thoroughly cleaned up after themselves. The job was done on time and on budget. They also submit the warranty information for you and they just sent me all of the rebate information all filled out with all of the necessary documentation attached. All I will need to do is answer a couple of questions, sign and send! How is easy is that?? I highly recommend this company.

All I can say is what a great Job!! We converted our heating system from oil to natural gas and we had our hot water heater replaced. The entire install was amazing! Barry's crew descended on the house at 7:45 am and stayed until 7pm. They completed the entire job in 1 day, which was quite a feat. They had to remove an oil tank, a 40 y/o old boiler, a 10 y/o hot water heater, plumb the basement for the gas boiler, run the new electrical, install a new side vent, bleed the radiators and baseboard units and clean up. They calibrated the new system, then came back for a follow up to recalibrate the system as is needed on the new high tech ultra efficient boilers with outside thermostats. I plan to use Berry Mechanical for all of our heating system needs from now on.

Berry Mechanical was extremely easy to work with and very professional in every aspect of the process from giving the estimate to answering all questions I had regarding the system, installation, and paperwork required for our MassSAVE loan and rebates on our new high efficiency heating system and indirect hot water tank right through the installation and follow up. They were patient while we obtained several estimates and were happy to answer the many questions I had regarding the differences in the estimates. The office support professionals provided all the information and paperwork I needed in a timely manner to get the MassSAVE loan very quickly and without a single problem. This company knows what they doing and how to interact with customers. We accepted the estimate and scheduled the job. They told us we would not have heat or hot water for one day so we planned accordingly. Berry Mechanical took care of obtaining all required permits in advance and arrived exactly on time, with a large crew -- four or five vans of various trade workers showed up and immediately got to work removing the old system from our large home and preparing to install the new system. They very quickly drained down the old systems and removed them. They spent the day wiring, plumbing, venting, and installing, and testing the system exactly as promised. They worked as a team to get a large job done in just one day as promised. By the end of the day we had a fully operational high efficient heating and hot water system that looked fantastic! They were very neat and were respectful of our space. There were two very minor glitches which became apparent over the next few days. First, was the installation wiring for the wireless thermostats that I had specifically requested -- I don't think this is a product they install very often (if ever) -- some wires got flipped around so they were not monitoring the zone they were controlling the boiler for. One phone call the day after installation when we discovered the problem and a fast response from Berry's owner had the problem fixed that same day. The one other issue we had was a air lock that formed about a week after installation in the longest zone in the system. Again, one phone call and a fast response by the owner and the problem was fixed. We are very happy with every aspect of this work performed by Berry Mechanical and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking to replace a heating and/or hot water system. Our home is significantly warmer now throughout without the very cold spots -- problem solved with the wireless thermostats being placed in new locations.

I could not be happier with the outcome of this project. From start to finish, everyone from Berry was professional and courteous. Jamie handled the original consultation and quote, and gave me a rough estimate of the cost before he left my house. I added on a couple upgrades, like a better filter and extended warranty, so this added about $2,000 to the originally quoted price. The price was in line with my budget, and actually came in lower than other national companies that I had quote the job. I live in a 25 year old townhouse with forced hot water heat, fueled by an oil boiler. So, all the ductwork needed to be installed and run from the basement up two living levels and down from the attic. It was a difficult project and required almost 3 days to complete the work. I asked a LOT of questions before they began the work, and Jamie took the time to address all my concerns. This installation was being done at the same time I was having other work done in my house, so coordination with my general contractor was going to be critical. The day before the job began, there was a pretty significant miscommunication with my contractor, which was going to cause an unacceptable design change. I called Jamie in a panic at approx. 10pm the night before the work was scheduled to start and explained the situation. Jamie called me back by 6am the next morning, and was at my house with an installer (and owner) in less than an hour. We reviewed the design plan and came up with a solution. My contractor arrived shortly thereafter, less than thrilled with the new plan. The miscommunication was clearly on my contractor's end, and it was Bill (the owner) with Berry who stepped up to the plate and fixed the problem... disaster avoided!! The job was finished on time and on budget. I could not be happier with the final result, and I would hire this company again in a heart-beat!!

My old gas boiler was installed in the late fifties and I thought it was about time to replace. Allen Berry told me that to do it in late summer would give me the best deal because they were not so busy then. I made my initial call about 3PM on a Friday and got a call back immediately to make sure that I didn't have an emergency. Mr. Berry arrived for an estimate when he said he would. I was impressed with his professionalism and his comfort with modern technology. His crew came to install when they said they would, were very efficient and profesional and completed the job the same day. I am very happy with his performance and would recommend him to others.

My husband and I decided to get Central Air for our house after having lived here for one year. We had no duct work or any former existing cooling system, so we needed everything. We were recommended Berry from a friend who had an addition on their home. Everything about this company was spot on. The knowledge of the equipment, the right equipment to use for the size and layout of our house. We were never upsold on something we didn't need and the sales representative was as passionate as I've ever seen someone in regards to their job. It is very apparent that he truly loves his job. We were given an installation date of about 10 days or so from when we signed the contract and they showed up right on time. They worked quickly and efficiently and were done in 2 days as opposed to the original 3 that I was told. They did a great job on the install and the head technician explained how everything worked to me afterwards so I knew how to keep up with the maintenance. All of the technicians were very polite and cordial. I would absolutely work with them again. A great company to do business with. I would recommend them to anyone.

It went great. The new heater hangs on the wall they put all new baseboard radiators on the walls. They got here in one week. 6 trucks of men. All nice professional. Allen Berry came out stayed till 8 at night explaining what was going to happen. And it happened just as he said. Then came next day at 630 am to explain how everything works. They were all so nice. The heater looks like something I never seen before. It is beautiful.. We are calling all relatives to show it off. we are going to have them come back in Feb to give us a price on air conditioning. So happy. Call them first you will not be sorry.

I emailed Berry Mechanical Services through Angie's list. Jamie responded to me a day later. Jamie was very flexible and we ended up scheduling an appointment at night after we got home from work. Jamie came out to the house and walked with me through the system. He was very knowledgeable and spent the time to explain to us how our system works (and how the new system would differ). He also made sure to point out various items that may be potential issues (most of which other vendors did not even notice). He emailed us a 3 page quote several days later with various options and a detailed list of what work would be included and what work would not be included. I asked several questions about the quote and they were answered very quickly. The quote was on par (pricewise) with many of the other vendors and included some additional work that others had not. In the end the work was performed by another vendor, but we are VERY happy with Berry Mechanical Systems' professionalism and the whole experience and will keep them in mind if we are asked for recommendations or if we need work done in the future.

We received one estimate on the described work and decided we needed a second opinion. Jamie came out and was extremely helpful. I was impressed with his knowledge, willingness to explain everything, and his enthusiasm. He offered solutions to some small problems we were experiencing and he educated us on how the system we own works along with its strengths and weaknesses. It turned out the estimate was half of what we received from the first estimate so the decision was a no-brainer. On the day of the job the workers arrived when they said they would. They spread drop cloths all the way up to the attic, which was extremely conscientious. Scott went over what they would do and went over the layout for the duct work. He listened to my questions and was willing to work with me on how the system would be designed and installed. Like Jamie, he provided detailed information and explained everything with enthusiasm. The workers were professional and very polite. They were a pleasure to work with and I definitely would use them again and would recommend them to others.

I had a good experience with them. They are very professional. The guy that came was very capable of doing the job.
