So nice, on time, easy going. Great experience!

The carpenter seemed nice enough, but his attitude towards the job was lackluster. He seemed pessimistic that he could get the job done, and then when it was finished it wasn't quite right. He had offered to fix it if it wasn't right, but I no longer wanted to work with him. I'll find someone else to fix it.

Projects like this are the reason that I use Angie's list. I used the site to determine 3 contractors to receive quotes from. They all came in at roughly the same cost. I had used the site before to choose Royal for a very small but important job at my parents' house. I was thrilled with the level of attention to detail which was provided for that very small job, so I figured they would do terrific work for me on a bigger project. Every step of the way, Dermott and his crew were professional and timely. The communication was great as well as we kept in touch before work started via email, and then daily while the work was ongoing. Royal contracting took care of the permits and inspection as well as performing the work as ordered, but even made some helpful suggestions along the way. I can't say enough about how well the project went from the estimate to contracting to pre-work communication, to the actual construction and then follow up upon completion. Having heard so many horror stories about contractors and projects that went awry, I couldn't be more pleased with the choice I made with the help of Angie's List. The project was completed professionally, on time, and within budget. I never felt like anything was out of my control or influence. Now I want to start new projects, and I will want to choose Royal Contracting again.

He came and did an estimate and then came back and installed the shelves. He charged me 3 hours for painting and priming and buying the wood which I could have done. I should have been more clear but I thought he would be able to do more in 4 hours for sure.

in in the near future.The provider showed up on time and was courteous and professional. He quickly started woke and continued till it was all completed even though it took 4 hours longer then we had contracted for with the deal. He gave us some advice about some other project we needed done and will return in a few weeks to complete several other projects for us. I would highly recommend Royal Contracting and look forward to using them again in the near future.

He showed up but had forgotten something so he had to spend an hour going back home. He later said that he did not charge me for that extra time...yet he went overtime and charged me extra and I had little way to argue that it was not his mistakes that caused the overtime. He did nice work; I have no gripes with that. My major rub with him is that he added 50% to the cost of all materials; he never mentioned that in the offer. As such, I consider his $499 deal to be a gimmick -- he makes up the profit by overcharging on the materials. If you use him, be sure to get all expenses spelled out in writing before going forward.

The handyman was able to do all of the project i wanted and was very friendly. I was able to schedule the work within a few days of my purchase I gave a B for punctuality since the handyman was 30 min late for an 8 AM Sat appointment and did not call to let me know he was running late. However, he did make up for the time by staying late as well. I recommend this contractor

I hired the company for a 4 hour minimum of services. I was very pleased with the services of this company. The contractor showed up on time and worked at a reasonable pace for an hourly rate. It was clear that he was experienced and professional. I was very happy with the work that was done and the price was very reasonable. I will use Royal again for my next list of home maintenance projects.

I called. This guy just said hello in an unpleasant tone. I asked, Is this royal contracting? His response "Yeah". No customer service skills at all. I told him I found his company on Angie's List and there was just silence. I told him I purchased a new home in Bellingham (approx 30 min south of Dedham) and I was looking for an estimate. Instantly, he said I was out of the service area and abruptly ended the call. I can't believe this company scored so high when they responded as they did. Not impressed and happy to say I'm out of their service area.

Dermot did a great job. Jumped right in, took more time then the big deal that I purchased, the window was more rotted out then could tell from the outside. Quality of work was great, cleaned up pretty well, found a few nails and debris outside, but nothing too bad. Overall pleased with having him here and would hire him again in the future.

He was very good. He put stain the railings. He was very professional. They price was good.

Dermot McElligott and his crew exceeded all expectations. Dermot returned our calls promptly and scheduled and rescheduled with ease. The work was excellent in all respects and done in a very timely manner. Everyone was very pleasant and professional. We were kept informed of their plans as some work was done off site. They cleaned up after the projects in the house and outside. We would recommend Royal Contracting very highly and we expect to use them again when the need arises.

Dermott was puntual to for the appointment for the estimate of the job. Has completed a portion of the job and the work is excellent. The remainder of the job will be completed in the Spring.

All went well. I was very happy with the end result. I would hire them again.

We thought it went well, and we are pleased with the results. We were on a tight schedule with company coming at the beginning of November, and they met the deadline. They were punctual and communication about various aspects of the job went well. Dermot seemed to understand what we needed, and was responsive about our concerns. Fabio, who did a lot of the painting, worked very hard and was very pleasant to work with. Dermot brought in some electricians who did a nice job with the recessed lighting. They all cleaned up after the job was done. We are enjoying our home more now that the projects are done.

The door closer works as it should, the drywall project is part one of two, but feel good about the repairs so far. The baseboards we were both disappointed in. It was the product that we had purchased not the contractors fault about how it ended up. He did offer suggestions on what to do in the future and let me know what it would entail.

I would rate them as A for excellent. Fabio was fantastic. He did everything that I asked him to do and couldn’t have been more polite and courteous. He was very professional and cleaned up after every job that he did for me. I had him take down a cabinet in the bathroom and installed a new one and he painted the bathroom wall after he removed the old cabinet and before he installed the new one. He also put shelving up for me in a kitchen closet and put hardware and rods up in my bedroom. Royal Contracting was very prompt in returning my phone call and Fabio arrived on time. I would definitely hire this company for future work.

Royal Contracting was professional in every aspect you would expect. I am totally satisfied with their work and promptness and would highly recommend them.

I am v. happy with the work they did. Both carpenters were thorough, knowledgeable, efficient and took pride in their work. They arrived on time, worked hard, cleaned up and were v. pleasant. They didn't blast music while they worked, etc. I would definitely use them in the future. Fabio was especially good.

It worked out well. We would use them again. Both the quality and the professionalism were very good.

There were additional costs with the Big Deal. Scheduling the Big Deal was easy and everything turned out fine.
