Pillar To Post brings state of the art technology and equipment to the home inspection process. By offering three different packages and advanced procedures to complement our professional expertise. Pillar To Post offers you the best, most effective home inspection available today.

"Literally the worst home inspection I have ever received. They told me my roof was in good shape and halfway through it use full life. Turns out the shingles were past their useful life, there were two layers of shingles, and the roof itself was warped I. Multiple areas. I even asked specifically if there were any issues with the roof and was told “it was in good shape”. Four months later, I had a small leak and its turns out the entire roof had to be replaced, not just the shingles, the entire roof. This issue would have been identified if one of these clowns used a ladder to climb on the roof (a two story house, mind you) and look at it with actual eyeball, instead of flying a drone over it instead. Inspection was completely useless, so they offered to give me the $590 I paid for the inspection back, but I am out $20k for the new roof. Currently in litigation…"

Buyers will receive all the information they need to make an informed decision about a property they wish to purchase. Sellers can take advantage of NACHI’s “Move In Ready Certification”, a pre-inspection program certifying the home is clear of any known defects and allows the seller and their agent to sell the property with confidence, free of the unwelcome surprises that can show up during an inspection at the end of the transaction when time is of the essence. No cookie cutter inspections and unrealistic pricing. Every property is unique and so will the inspection, specifically tailored for that property. See why Clients and Realtors have awarded RI Real Estate Inspection Services with a 99% satisfaction rating since 2013.

"Great communication and the service was impeccable. Would definitely hire them again!"

Home inspections FAQs

It’s important to get a home inspection when buying a home because home inspectors are trained to examine the various aspects of a home to determine that everything is in good condition and find unseen problems that current homeowners need to fix before the home sale takes place. Although home inspections are not legally required, a thorough inspection can help you decide if you want to purchase a home. That’s why it’s essential to keep a home inspection contingency so that you have the option to walk away from the sale if the home inspection reveals expensive issues.

A home inspection typically includes the home inspector conducting a thorough visual examination of essential home structures and mechanical components. Afterward, the inspector will provide a home inspection report that relays descriptions of damage or other findings for the homeowner to review.

Home inspectors will examine the following home areas and features:

  • Plumbing

  • Electrical

  • Foundations

  • Roof

  • Windows and doors

  • Overall condition of interior and exterior

  • HVAC systems

  • Attics

  • Basements or crawl spaces

  • Major built-in appliances

Typically, a licensed and certified local home inspector conducts home inspections. Real estate agents often work closely with trusted home inspectors. Licensing requirements vary from state to state for home inspectors, but they must have local certification and valid insurance. Many licensed home inspectors belong to professional associations like the American Society of Home Inspectors.

Typically, the home buyer pays for the inspection by hiring a home inspector. This method helps you make an informed decision about a home’s condition before purchasing it. Home sellers can also conduct their own home inspection to ensure that they are getting the best price for their home and property.

On average, home inspections cost about $350, ranging from $200 to $500, depending on the home’s size, age, and location, plus any specialty inspections required. Additional cost factors include testing for asbestos or conducting thermal imaging tests to find infestations, checking energy efficiency, and looking for structural or electrical problems. If your home is more than 2,000 square feet, you can expect to pay $400 or more.
