Description of Work: This person was initially communicating with me for a time, but then just stopped for no apparent reason. It left me in a bad situation as I was in the process of putting an apartment in my house and was ready for flooring to be installed. I had to scramble to find another service.

Description of Work: We recently purchased our home and the hardwood floors were in need of serious attention after 50+ years. Phill refinished our stairs, living room, dining room, hallway, and master bedroom. During the walk through for our estimate, he was very informative regarding the process and answered all of our questions and gave an honest opinion of our options for stain and polyurethane options. We opted for no stain and a water based polyurethane on Phill's recommendation. We were amazed at the transformation. Phill did an excellent job sanding out almost every blemish and filling the deeper scratches/holes. He was able to complete the work in 3 days and the finished product is great. We couldn't be happier with how they turned out. We have two more spare bedrooms to refinish and we will certainly use Phill again.

Description of Work: Excellent job done by a very hard-working, personable team! A bit hard to agree on a date as there were scheduling issues on both sides, but when we agreed on a date, they came on time, respected our home by preparing the work space and cleaning up afterwards, and left the room looking beautiful, eliminating stains and holes in the floors, and matching the rest of hardwood in the house. We will have them back.

He was prompt, and pleasant to work with, and the work was performed in the agreed timeframe. I have had floors down in my previous home and I saw a difference in the expertise and also the cleanliness of Phil's work.

He was in touch with us every day to determine if the color and sheen were what we wanted. And his attention to detail paid off. The floors are beautiful and have just the right amount of sheen. Phil is the consummate professional...punctual; polite; accommodating and a neat worker. The job came in right on budget. We couldn't be happier with the whole process and results...highly recommended.

+ 0 moreMy wife and I bought a new house and Danvers, the floors were in pretty rough shape and my wife hated the color of the floor, it was just far too light. We called a few flooring companies to get a quote (roughtly 5) only 2 others showed up and the price of one of the contractors was very high, the contractor could not meet my schedule deadline. Phil from Downs Hardwood Floors came over to give an estimate and was very professional, he informed us that the staining of the floors would take sometime to get finished but he would be able to meet our deadline in order for our furniture to be delivered. The crew arrived on time, they were very professional and were able to get my flooors done in the time that Phil had promised. My wife and I are very happy with the color that Phil helped us pick out for the stain on the floors, and wth work was great. We have been getting compliments by everyone who comes in our home. We are going to be getting the bedrooms done soon as well and will be giving Downs Hardwood Floors a call.
