Description of Work: I call them for an estimate on a replacement job on a main drainage pipe in our cellar. They had a gentleman here the next day to give me the quote. He was here at the time stated and did a very through job of letting me know what was needed to do the job correctly. His quote was higher than the company I decided to go with, but I would call them again if other work is needed.

Description of Work: I purchased the faucet replacement deal and when the day came for them to complete the service, they called after they were supposed to be there stating they had an emergency and had to cancel, even though they knew about the emergency at least 12 hours before. Then, when they came back at the rescheduled time, they told me "oh yeah, well the deal was $79, but yours is complicated so it's going to be three times that price". I want my money back because I went to Home Depot after that and did it myself for a lot less money than even the $79. Give me a refund.

Description of Work: Bought the service from Angie's List during the Summer. Technician cleaned, serviced and generally checked out all parts and made sure the electrical connections were in good working order, as well as replaced the filter. Technician called with arrival time and was punctual. He was very courteous and knowledgeable.

Description of Work: We demolished our kitchen and had Cranney come in to do some very light plumbing. They Capped the pipes running hot and cold water as well as cut and cap the drain from the sink. Maybe a half hour of work ended up costing us around $300.00 ... The electrician came with the plumber and gave us an estimate for a lot of work we were going to do and the estimate came in extremely high, almost double. They are very professional, and timely. They do cost more, but they come with supplies and can handle what you need right then and there.

Description of Work: I took advantage of Angie's "big deal" to have my A/C tuned. The A/C unit had not been tuned since moving into the house 3 years ago. Company contacted me the next day after purchasing deal to schedule appointment, and were able to set-up an appointment soon thereafter. Technician arrived on time, introduced himself and the company he worked for, and briefly describe work to be performed. Upon opening panel to the air compressor unit, technician uncovered a mice nest that was covering most of the wiring inside panel. The unit sits outside the rear of the house in a woodsy area. Once it was removed, technician notified me that the mice had been eating through the wiring, and therefore he advised me to replace the wiring to avoid more serious damage. The $69 special, instantly became a $179 job. Replacing the wiring, but really just patching the wiring, cost $110. I felt it was expensive for a fix that took about 15 minutes to perform. Nonetheless it was done well. Technician also advised me to cover all holes to the unit with steel wool to help prevent mice setting up camp again. I provided the steel wool and he covered the holes. Once inside, the technician looked at air handling unit and coils inside it. According to him the coils were in very good condition and they did not need cleaning. He also answered all my questions and I learned the unit had two filters. However, the company would only replace the the cheaper one as part of the deal because the one housed in the unit (high efficiency filter) cost approximately $120. I think it is understandable. Overall it was a positive experience, except I think the cost to repair the wiring was too expensive. For this reason I think I will shop around next time, or when considering purchasing a "big deal" I will ask the company about their regular prices ahead of time so I know what to expect.

Description of Work: This service was for central ac via Angie's List e-mail to me. The technician appeared to do a thorough job, was polite, and was willing to answer any questions I had. In my opinion it was definitely worth $69.00. Had to listen to a sales pitch about all the companies services but I suppose that is to be expected on a deal like this.

Description of Work: Replaced faucet. However, over the past year, Cranney plumbers have also installed a new effficient water heater, repaired minor plumbing issues throughout the house and tuned up gas furnace. Everyone has been beyond the best. From the prompt knowledgeable answers to our questions to the booties they put over their shoes before entering the house to avoid tracking in dirt, they provided excellent customer service. I have total confidence in anyone Cranney sends. My husband and I are not handy around the house. When I have had to speak with a plumber from other companies, at times they speak impatiently down to me. Cranney staff are patient and respectful. The office staff is professional, calling when the plumber is within a half hour or so of arriving. They have always arrived ON TIME! Can't say enough good things.

Description of Work: Craney Home Services does not provide free estimates for plumbing work. Their business model is to send a "fully stocked" truck to make paid estimates. If the customer agrees to have the work done the estimate price is "waived". They expect to be able to perform the work immediately after the estimate is approved. That does not work for us, so we are using other service providers.
