Description of Work: We recently purchased a 175 year old home with multiple issues. Chris replaced several windows which where very large and had complicated framing. The work was done perfectly and the windows work well. Chris and his partner also repaired some rotting wood that was on our outside columns and repaired other outside wood issues. We would highly recommend CJ's Finish Carpentry.

Description of Work: We had interior trim done around 7 windows, 5 door openings and baseboards in our new kitchen. Chris purchased the wood ahead of time so my husband could stain and poly before the work was done. His two carpenters were extremely professional and did a beautiful job. We are so happy with the work and the very reasonable price. They also did trim around one of our skylights and even washed the glass since it's so high up! I highly recommend these finish carpenters. They're the best.

Description of Work: They replaced 4 windows and made other various house repairs. Chris and his son, Ryan, have both done work for me at my home. They are extremely dependable, knowledgeable and they consistently execute their tasks with fine workmanship - the kind one doesn't really expect to find any more.... I mean, they actually take pride and care in their work. That seems so rare these days. And they leave the house spotless when they're finished. I'm grateful to have found this father-and-son team. It appears there's nothing they can't do, but if that should be the case, they always know good tradespeople with whom they've worked in the past to recommend. I know I can call on Chris and Ryan for just about anything in my home whenever I need help - from painting to replacing a roof - and they will bring me the best solution for a price I can afford. Can it get any better than that?

Description of Work: CJ and his son did a number of things for me, including hanging some sconces and a mirror, installing a stair rail on my cellar stairs, and installing a doorknob on my bathroom door. They were prompt, very pleasant, and efficient. They also cleaned up after themselves. I highly recommend their services and would definitely use them again! Thank you!

 + 4 moreCJ's was very willing to provide quotes for a long list of various items so we could decide what to do now and what to do later. Chris handled all the research, selection, ordering and pick up for various doors and other items, which helped ensure the correct materials were used. Chris did prep in the evenings at his home (priming, painting) to minimize the mess and smell at our house. The work was very high quality and I would not hesitate to do more extensive work with Chris (major renovation) in the future. I highly recommend CJ's.
Description of Work: We had a variety of projects done - installation of french doors, repair of pocket doors, installation of skylight blind, replacement of existing doors with solid core doors with soundproofing, etc.

 + 10 moreCJ Carpentry was reliable produced high quality results in a timely manner. He was not the lowest bidder but could account for every expense in detail. He gave me bottom line up front as had not been my experience with other contractors. In my other experiences work was started and "extras" were added, this was not the case with CJ. The price included repairs done properly not "cover up work" he resolved issues with prior construction. He took time to explain what the work was and what long term results would be, if not done properly, this was the case with my windows. I was hesistant at first why I would need Anderson new construction windows. He removed a casing to show me that on one window there was no insulation and on another water had migrated behind a damaged sill and also a colony of hornets and ants had taken up residence. This was after I had recieved a quote from someone else for insert windows at a lower price. Needless to say, my home being my biggest investment I opted to fix not cover the problem. I have not only recieved multiple compliments on my home renovations, but I have also saved significantly on my home energy bills.
Description of Work: They began with eliminating the load bearing wall between the living room and kitchen. They then reframed my ceiling into a "vaulted ceiling" giving me 12 foot ceilings in that end of the house. They increased my insulation factor from R-19 to R-30, before installing a tongue and groove pine ceiling. They also created a funtional lighting scheme combining recessed lights and hanging fixtures as well as a dynamic ceiling fan to cool the house in the summer. They then replaced all of my windows with Anderson new construction windows, trimming the outside in maintnance free Azek vinyl and the inside with Colonial casing giving a warm country home feel. Next my 20 year old bathroom fixtures and shower were replaced with new FW Webb fixtures and the walls were repaired and Waynescotting was placed along all walls after the floor was stripped and re-tiled. During the project damaged fascia board was discovered and also replaced with Azek vinyl and seamless gutter.
