Description of Work: meeting in person I liked black chimney. their prices were good and they have a plumber who coordinates with them carefully for installation who was very inexpensive. However, online reviews are poor about service, getting things delivered on time, dealing with problems so did not go with them in spite of good personal in store connection.

Description of Work: We were looking for a gas insert to go into our fireplace. We told them what are specific need was and they told us they would investigate what type would fit and how to customize it. We never heard back from them.

+ -1 moreTHEY ARE FRIENDLY AND PUNCTUAL AND EFFICIENT. I'D RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. THE CHIMNEY SWEEPS ALSO GIVE HELPFUL HINTS ON MAINTENANCE/REPAIR NEEDED TO YOUR FIREPLACE. ONE TIME THEY CAME AND THE FIREPLACE WAS STILL WARM (MY MISTAKE) AND INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING, THEY GRACIOUSLY OFFERED TO SCHEDULE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT. I WAS NOT CHARGED FOR THE VISIT.

CALLED AND ASK TO SPEAK WITH OWNER, AND WAS TOLD HE WOULD CALL BACK, NO CALL. I FINALLY GOT A HOLD OF HIM AND HE WAS VERY RUDE STATED THAT ITS BEEN A HARD SEASON, AND WOULD NOT GIVE DISCOUNT DUE TO MY SITUATION.

+ -1 moreAS FAR AS I KNOW, THE WORK WAS DONE WELL - ONLY TIME WILL TELL IF THAT''S CORRECT OR NOT. THEY WERE ALMOST HALF THE COST OF BOSTON CHIMNEY AND AMERICAN SOMETHING OR OTHER OUT OF WAYLAND. THE ESTIMATOR MISSED OUR FIRST APPOINTMENT FOR THE ESTIMATE AND WAS AN HOUR LATE WHEN HE FINALLY CAME THE FOLLOWING DAY. BUT I WAS ABLE TO LET THAT SLIDE BECAUSE OF THE RELATIVE REASONABLE PRICE (WHICH WAS STILL TOO MUCH MONEY) AND THE EXPEDITIOUS MANNER IN WHICH THE WORK WAS DONE (TOOK ABOUT 5 HOURS AND THEY COMPLETED IT WITHIN A WEEK AFTER THE INITIAL CALL).

Description of Work: I HAD USED THEM TO CLEAN MY CHIMNEYS A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO AND WAS PLEASED, SO I WANTED THEM TO DO THE REPAIR WORK ON TWO CHIMNEYS. I CALLED THEM AT LEAST 5 TIMES, THEY CAME OUT TO INSPECT THE CHIMNEYS TWICE, BUT THEY NEVER DELIVERED AN ESTIMATE! I KEPT CALLING, MAINLY OUT OF DISBELIEF, AND THE PEOPLE I TALKED TO NEVER SEEMED TO KNOW WHAT HAD HAPPENED, BUT THEY ALSO COULDN''T FIND RECORDS OF THE PREVIOUS VISITS, AND THE BEST THEY COULD DO WAS SAY THAT THEY WOULD COME AGAIN. AFTER 3 MONTHS I GAVE UP AND TRIED ANOTHER COMPANY. MOST FRUSTRATING.
