While this sort of situation is never fun to deal with, the plumbers from K&S were extremely professional courteous and friendly throughout the entire process. The bathroom they worked on is in an elderly lady's apartment, and they were very nice to her and made sure she was at ease through out the process. I've used them before for other issues, and I'd highly recommend them; they are competent, professional, trustworthy, and reasonably priced.

After estimates by other plumbers (found through Angie's List) that were outside of my budget, I contacted Kirkland and Shaw who had successfully corrected a water pressure issue about six years ago. After describing my hot water heater leak, K&S provided a telephonic estimate that was within budget so we scheduled a visit by one of their technicians who arrived on schedule, answered my questions in a courteous, professional manner and outlined the two-step process to fix the leak. He worked efficiently with the least amount of disruption to my household. Since the initial part replacement did not solve the leakage problem, I contacted K&S who again responded rapidly. Within four working days of this call, a different technician arrived as scheduled, worked efficiently, cleaned up after himself, answered all my questions, and even corrected a leaking faucet problem in the kitchen. I have added Kirkland and Shaw to my iPhone contact list and will call them again for any future plumbing issues.

I have used Kirkland and Shaw since moving to Lexington 16 years ago.They are always responsive, timely,neat, professional and prices are always as quoted. They are a little pricey but well worth it. They arrived as promised and the installation went off very smoothly. All the plumbers are very knowledgeable, explain to you what they recommend and why. Work is high quality. I am very happy with my new water heater.

My phone call was promptly answered and an appointment was made to meet my schedule. The plumber arrived on time and went over the options to address the problem. He provided a low cost and less complicated way for the sink to drain and the washer to empty into a separate standpipe without the need for a pump. He gave an estimate of finishing in 2 hours and was done in 1 and a half hours. He removed all the old parts and cleaned the work area. It was a great painless experience.

We comparison-shopped and got a substantially lower price for water heater replacement from Kirkland and Shaw, despite having an initial evaluation call from another company. The service was courteous and professional. We then asked them to stop by to figure out a leak in the ceiling. The plumber listened to our misinformed theories about where the leak was coming from, then correctly diagnosed and fixed the leak for only $200. Excellent service.

Very well, although I was not sure what the issue was, my first blocked pipe, they were good about educating me about what was needed.

I have hired Kirkland & Shaw occasionally over many years. I have always found them pleasant to deal with, *very* responsive in an emergency (and pretty good anytime), careful in their work and probably above average in cleanup (a common issue with plumbers, in my experience). They aren't exactly cheap; probably about average. So I included them in a mix of plumbing companies to care for my own home and two others. That changed recently, when I called them in to deal with a genuine disaster caused by another company. Kirkland & Shaw's response was excellent; they did what needed doing, and we extended the job to some other areas. I was entirely satisfied with the final result, and the price seemed fair. So theirs is now my only refrigerator magnet for plumbing services, in my own and rental buildings.

Kirkland came to fix a broken baffle (the pipe with 2 valves that starts the sprinkler) that is outside the home and runs the sprinkler system. They charge hourly so we explained exactly what was needed. When the person came, he repaired a portion of the baffle rather than the whole thing. It was still leaking when he told me he was finished. When I looked at it, he had repaired one part, but left the most important one untouched. Turns out he did not have a part for it. What he should have done is come with a full baffle. When I told the supervisor on the phone that the task was not complete, the supervisor told me that he would get another part, which would cost me more money due to the time. I protested, but the supervisor was rude and obnoxious. Faced with a leaking faucet, I didn't have much choice. The new portion of the baffle was purchased. It stopped leaking and was dry. They sent a bill, which we paid. When I turned the faucet back on for this season on April 15, 2012, it was leaking from everywhere. I called Kirkland & Shaw, who were obnoxious as they had been the first time, saying the work was not guaranteed. I was forced to call someone else. He took one look at the faucet and told me Kirkland had fitted the cheapest parts from Home Depot. This individual purchased and put a brand new baffle on. Including parts and labor he charged me $250, and told me the whole thing should last me 8-10 years. Kirkland does shoddy work, uses cheap parts and does not guarantee its work. Stay away.

Very responsive & professional. Our water heater stopped working Sunday night and we called first thing Monday morning. When we described the state of the water heater (no leaking, but control panel not lit up and wouldn't trigger the boiler to fire), one of the managers guessed at what the problem might be and sent one of their employees to our home that same day with the appropriate replacement parts. Their man arrived on time, was very polite & professional, and worked extremely efficiently. He quickly replaced the needed part and had us back up & running. He also answered some general questions about out water/plumbing systems. We hadn't mentioned this on the phone, but while he was there we discussed a clogged/slow drain in our bathroom and he had the equipment to snake it for us and have it working better than ever as well. We will definitely call Kirkland & Shaw again for any future plumbing needs.

The turnaround time was incredibly fast. They offered me a good price. They respond quickly. They follow up on everything to make sure that everything is ok. They are really confident guys.

They came on a Sunday. I liked that they were able to come on a weekend. They are friendly and thorough. I have been using them for about ten years and they are consistently that way. I would rate them highly and would continue to use them in the future.

Very pleased with the excellent professional work done and the courteous and pleasant workers who came to the house. Would definitely have them back for additional work as needed. They showed up when expected, worked diligently, and cleaned up afterwards, making me very satisfied with their work.

I have been using them for more than 30 years now. My mother used their services many years before that. They are the only plumbers that I have ever used. They are professional and provide a fast response. I think the world of them. There is nothing that they can improve upon. I recommend them to everybody. I would definitely use their services in the future too.

They were quite prompt and they did a fairly good job. They stand behind their work. I thought that they were adequate. They were helpful. They are not the cheapest around but they do a good job.

I have a gas stove insert in one of my fireplaces that was not igniting; the pilot was lit, but when you turned on the stove, nothing happened. It turns out it's kind of hard to find companies that service gas stove inserts, so Kirkland and Shaw was maybe the 5th or 6th company I called. The person answering the phone was straight and to the point, not really enthusiastic. But when they asked if they could come out right now to fix the problem, I jumped on it since I hadn't had any luck finding someone. The repairman was there within the hour; he came in, assessed the problem, replaced the thermocouple, and got the stove back on. It was a really quick job! My only complaint was that the cost to replace this one part was pricey, considering the short time the serviceman was there. But now the stove works great, and I've had no further problems.

My experience with Kirkland and Shaw was very positive. I tracked down a number of quotes to replace my steam boiler and theirs was by far the most reasonable. They were friendly, responsive, straightforward, and didn't try to push any extra services. Instead of telling me what had to be done, they gave me range of options, of varying cost. I appreciated that.

From the beginning Stephen Kirkland came across as a good listener. He developed a proposal that appeared to fit our needs and then helped us navigate the complex minefield of rebates and special incentives that were currently on offer from the utility companies. He took time to explain things to us and when the equipment arrived he was ready to go within days, even when we had been trying unsuccessfully to coordinate the work with another project so that we didn't have to spend too many days in our house without heating in December! In the end we were without heat for less than 2 days - his team worked quickly and efficiently. We were very pleased with the work they carried out. Our house is now warmer where we want it to be and cooler where we don't need it to be so hot - just what we were looking for. They even took away our old oil tank and the remaining oil at a discount, beating the offer from the gas company. One complaint was in relation to the electrician who installed the thermostats and set up the new boiler - they were messy in terms of where and how they routed the cables in the main part of the house and we think some of this could have been improved. But overall we would work with them again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

On Thanksgiving Eve, after a day of cooking, my sink backed up and I couldn't contemplate a Thanksgiving without the kitchen sink! I called after 6pm, had little hope of a response, but the plumber was there within an hour, snaked the clog 25 feet plus into the backyard, and saved the holiday.

I can highly recommend them. They have worked for me and they are great. It was a tricky job and they did good work. It was a leaking drain pipe and they installed a new pipe and welded into the old spot. They replaced an entire section. They are more responsive than any other plumber I called. I called 10 people and most called me back in 3 days to never. They returned my call within an hour. I would recommend everything about them. My parents have used them whenever they have had plumbing trouble. They always knew what to do.
