AJ Rose Carpets & Flooring

One of the worst experiences I have ever had. Spent nearly 3 months of my time and they failed to deliver the product. Repeatedly failed to return my calls. Sure seemed like they got my money and disappeared. I picked AJ Rose because of their glowing reviews in Angie's List. I went into the Burlington store in late July 2014 and ordered carpet for a basement room + runner for stairs. I was told the runner would take 2 weeks. Approx 2 weeks later I got a call from AJ Rose that the runner had come in but it was defective and they needed to reorder. 2+ weeks later I had heard nothing from AJ Rose. I placed 2 separate calls to my sales rep over the course of a week. Never received a return call. Had to go into the store to get an update. Was told the carpet was on backorder. Flash forward to October (nearly 3 months after purchase) I had received ZERO communication on my order. I called the store on 10/17/2014 at approx. 3 PM. The sales rep said they needed to check the warehouse and would call me back. Never got a call back (third time of no call back). On 10/18 went back into the store, told them the entire story, waited another 20+ minutes while they tried to figured out what went wrong. They finally came back and said their records say the carpet is in stock but they can't find it. They offered to start the process over on Monday. I was extremely disappointed with the run around, lack of communication, and my time wasted. I canceled the order and got my money back. One of the worst experiences I had ever had. I will never use AJ Rose again. I would never recommend them to anyone. Be very cautious of giving them your money before you receive your product.

I purchased an Angies list deal to have three rugs cleaned (bedrooms) for $99. It was extremely easy to make the appointment and they were super accommodating when I had to reschedule. I was told that they would arrive between 9am-10am. They did not show up until 10:15am, not a big deal, but I had a lot going on that day, so even a phone call indicating that they were going to be a few minutes late would be great. Other than that no issues, and I would certainly use them again. The staff were extremely professional and outgoing!

Great service. Showed up on time, provided a great service, explained the work and equipment. End result was a fresh new carpet cleaned.

They have been to my house to clean carpets twice. They were late both times. And they are not able to accommodate urgent issues.

Note, this was the A.J. Rose in Natick. Sales person was knowledgeable and showed us carpet in the quality level we wanted. He did not pressure us in any direction, and listened to our needs. He fully explained options for padding, etc, and showed us options in a realistic setting. He was straightforward about pricing and charges, including furniture moving, and made an appointment for measuring. The measuring guy showed up as promised and got the job done quickly. He also explained how things needed to be prepared for the installation, including removal of certain shelves, removing clothes in the closet that hung below a certain height, etc. The installers (3) showed up when promised and were focused, thorough, and careful about moving the furniture out of the rooms, pulling up the old carpet and padding, preparing the surface of the subfloor, replacing/repairing tack strips as needed, and installing the padding and new carpet. Watching them work, it was clear that they cared about the end result, including even stretching, cutting to the right size, making invisible seams both in the middle of the rooms and at doorways and against hard floors and thresholds. Overall, a high quality job, and done very quickly. All of the furniture went back in the right place with no damage.

They did a great job came on time. Highly recommend and would use them again.

Overall, not happy with the experience. I was told that the furniture (coffee table, couches, etc) would be moved by the cleaners, but when they came to my home, they refused to move it - I had to move it all myself or they would have just gone around it! The service itself was ok, there were a few areas where a rug had been that still looked uneven.

It was a $99 deal that I was double charged for. When they arrived they tried to charge me an extra $50 for moving my furniture out of the house. There was no mention of this charge for furniture moving in the fine print of the deal. The service they performed was substandard it looks like they just vacumed with a steamer. I received no offer of a written estimate for the extra charges. He just assumed I would pay the extra $50.

It went very well. Mark and his employee arrived within the specified window of time and cleaned the 3 rooms I had requested and an additional large room with stairs for a reasonable price when I requested it. I was very happy.

The provider was prompt, professional and thououghly cleaned our carpets. I was very, very pleased and will use them again.

Great experience. We had carpet and padding removed and replaced on the 2nd floor of our house, and on the stairs going up. They were able to come out for a detailed measurement within a couple of days - once done, we went into the showroom in Burlington to choose the carpeting. Within two weeks, the carpet arrived and was installed. Two installers knocked it out in an afternoon. They were very professional and did a great job of the installation and cleanup.

We purchased an Angie's Deal for $199 that saved us $150 on the vinyl flooring. The sales people at A J Rose in Burlington were helpful in selecting the flooring and placing the order. Prior to submitting the order, the installers called us to schedule a time to measure the space and estimate the amount of flooring needed. They arrived when scheduled, were pleasant to deal with, discussed our options for how the flooring would be laid and relative advantages, and answered our questions. When the flooring was ready, they called again and scheduled a time to install it. They came at the scheduled time, installed the flooring and quarter-round neatly and efficiently, cleaned up, and advised on initial care (i.e., no heavy furniture for a couple of days). Overall we were very satisfied in our dealings with A J Rose and the finished work.

I spoke with the company and they said they were not able to do the work. They want me to bring the rugs to them and I cannot lift them. They were professional and if they had a deal I could use, I would use them in the future.

It was fine, but they couldn't come on the date I needed.

Did a very nice job cleaning the carpet in our family room and bedroom.

Work was excellent - due to a mis-communication (my fault) they had to come back to finish some work. Did so on time at no extra charge.

My appointment was orginally scheduled for last fall, but they had to cancel because everyone called in sick. They were very apologetic and said that had never happened before. I understand that can happen, but I had taken the day off work to accommodate this so I was pretty disappointed. The coupon I purchased was due to expire in May, 2014. I didn't get around to being able to reschedule until August 1st. They did honor the coupon though so I was pleased at that. They came in the time frame allotted, right in the middle of it actually, one hour into the two hour window. The guys were very nice. I only have two small rooms so they were in and out of there in 20 minutes. Do keep in mind though that this is chemical/steam cleaning. If it's shampooing you want they don't do that. Nor do they move furniture, they go around it. I have light grey wall to wall and they came out nice, brightened up and refreshed. I am happy with the work.

The price, even with the $400 discount, was hundreds more than a national competitor (National Floors Direct). Therefore I did not purchases the carpeting. The salesman was great, he came punctually to measure my room, but I was shocked at the final price, given my coupon.

It went very well. Not sure if Herb Campbell is associated with Angies List, but he should be because of the great job he did in stretching my rugs in 4 rooms. I've had my rugs stretched twice before by another company, but it was never done right, so I'm pleased that A.J. Rose recommended Herb Campbell. The men from A.J. Rose were on time, friendly, neat and courteous. I was very pleased and would hire them again. They called the day before to confirm my appointment and time. The rugs look great and like new. Job well done!

We purchased new carpeting for our basement from the Natick store. The good news--and most important part of this review--is that the carpet looks great. The process of getting the carpet and the service we received along the way was another story entirely. After choosing a carpet, the salesman sent to measure the space didn't measure everything we asked him to measure. We needed to miss work to stay home so he could come another day, and the expense of the carpet ended up being higher than expected. When the carpet eventually came, the wrong color had been sent, so we had to miss yet another day of work to be home when the right one eventually arrived. Again, we are very happy with the end product, but the process was much more stressful and time consuming then needed.
