Mr Fix It Plumbing

One of my neighbors alerted me that my water heater had burst and that there was a lot of water in the basement area. I called Mr. Fix It and David answered my call right away and I explained the situation to him. He said he would call me back in 30 minutes but actually called me back sooner. David said he would come by to take a look and that he would be by in about half an hour, once again he was earlier than promised. He had a look at the water heater and said that it would need to be changed. He left to go to get a heater and came back pretty quickly. He began by draining the existing heater of water and disconnecting all of the pipes. Once he was done, he put the new heater in place and even set it on top of a few bricks in order to raise it up off of the concrete floor. The new heater had different dimensions than the old one so he had to spend some time rerouting the water lines and gas supply. Once everything was connected he checked for leaks and then lit the burner. He took the old water heater away and even wiped up the floor of the dirty shoeprints. About an hour later I had hot water again! From the time I made the initial call to the time David left it was about three and a half hours – really good considering the urgent nature with no advanced notice. It was a great and very professional experience. I would definitely recommend Mr. Fix It to anyone.

It went very well. David came the next day at the time he stated. He removed the stuck handle. He didn't have the correct valve, but told us exactly what to purchase and how to install it. We were able to return the new faucet we had purchased. The valve is working just fine now. David certainly had the option to tell us he would replace the whole faucet and charge us a lot more labor, but he is a good, honest guy - he listened to our needs, helped us out, and charged us a very fair fee.

It went well. He came early, stayed around a hour, cleaned up and left.

Overall, this went about as well as possible. David seemed happy to come up with an estimate via email rather than in person, which I found extremely helpful since it is hard for me to be home during the day. Estimating via email allowed me to cut my time off of work in half. David showed up on time and as promised. He is friendly and composed, and carried out the work quickly, smoothly, quietly, and without issue. I will definitely be a return customer based on this experience.

He was really good. We found him on Angie’s List. We spent about $200 for the work. The price seemed reasonable. He came right out, and he was very careful. He didn’t make any mess at all. He did very well. We didn’t think that he charged a terrible amount, and it worked. He explained everything to us. If we were going to get somebody again, we would definitely try to get him to come out.

My sister was home when he arrived. I was stuck at work. I arrived after he had completed the replacement of 2 out of the 3 faucets.He then provided estimates for other work that i needed. I paid him and he went home. My sister and I thought he was a nice fellow.

Prompt, friendly, reasonably priced. Called him on Sunday (not an emergency) and he came Tues first appointment of the day. Asked if he were also a handyman, per Angie's List, and he is not (though his dad is), fyi.

David came last Sunday to look at the problem and then gave me an estimate and an excellent solution. Yesterday, he got stuck in traffic and called me he was running late (how nice). He cut out the old pipe and installed a Y connector to the drain - one for the kitchen sink and dishwahser and the other one for the pump. He also moved the pump closer to the wall (from last year's plumber) and snaked the pipes. Previously, I met with several other plumbers who gave me very complicated and very expensive estimate on how to solve the problem. After learning from last year's experience, I knew the other plumbers were very dishonest in overpricing the job and time. David finished in 2-1/2 hours instead of the 8 hours the other plumbers quoted. He's very a very honest, hard-working and an excellent plumber. David gave the best and easiest solution to the problem of the back flow of water. David was excellent and I highly recommend David and his company.

Came over and did the job within about 90 minutes of my initial phone call. Quick, professional, friendly, and the price was about $200 less than anyone else I called, even though none of the other plumbers were available for same-day service.

For a Brookline condo I was renting to new tenants, I was informed by them that their garbage disposal did not work. Since it was an older model garbage disposal, I initially asked Mr Fit It (David) to replace it. After inspecting the garbage disposal, David determined that it was still in excellent condition, and that the tenants probably did not know how to use it. Instead of a switch, it uses a cover control that needs to be slightly lifted before rotating. I admired David for his honesty - he could have just replaced it as per my original direction. Furthermore, David did not charge me for the diagnosis. He also repaired a cracked vertical section of the kitchen sink drain pipe that was leaking in no time and cleaned up nicely when he finished.

David gave me a same-day appointment for an actual time, as opposed to the 4-hour window I had been offered by a competitor. David was on time, efficient yet thorough, and friendly and professional. He charged me a significant amount less than what I had been quoted by the competing company.

I had recently moved into my first real home and the faucet that my garden hosed hooked up to kept leaking profusely all over the house. Mr Fix It came over immediately to help me with this problem that was clearly not at all urgent. He not only fixed the faucet, but also did a once over of several other areas of concern in my new place just to put me at ease with the pipes and the water sounds I was hearing. He was extremely responsive, professional, and helpful. He was here for half an hour, but chose not to charge me anything because the fix for the hose was very easy (just one small new part). I wrote him a check for $70 anyway, but the fact that he didn't want to charge me shows just what a great plumber he is!

He offered me a great price and was punctual for the job. He explained what was going wrong and showed me the same. He also explained what he was doing and did a great job. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

Professional, prompt, and clean, but didn't get the job done - after 30 minutes trying to clear the toilet without success he charged $120 and said our only recourse was to buy a new toilet. We instead called a different plumber the next day, who cleared the toilet in 40 minutes for $40 less.

He was on time, pleasant, and his work was excellent.

Contacted Dave at Mr Fix-It in the afternoon - he came the next morning and repaired the bathtub mixing valve. Dave was fast., competent, professional and cleaned up completely after the job was done. The price for the job was extremely reasonable. I have used Mr Fix-It plumbing services exclusively for the past (4) years for all my rental units in Brookline, and they have always been outstanding.

He was very prompt in getting back to me and setting up a meeting. He seemed very knowledgeable and his price came in between a couple other plumbers I called. I didn't go ahead with the job because some other more pressing repair work came up, but I would definately think of using him in the future.

Repair was fine. I was expecting a lower hourly rate, not rounded up.

David responded my request immediately, and gave me the rough estimate when I called him. When I called the other plumber, they refused to give me the price over the phone which was very inconvenient. So I decided to ask David to fix our pluming problem (incapable of drainage, which was emergency situation for us!). He was very professional and found out the problem, and fixed it. He also found several minor issues that bothered us ever since we moved in, and fixed those as well. After all his work, he asked if there is any problem related to the bath room. I actually have worried our toilet tank fill valve is leaky but kept postponing to ask a plumber to come fix it. Since he asked me, I mentioned about it. Luckily he had all equipment to exchange our leaky valve and replace system to the new one. He did charge me only for the materials but no labor fee since he said he was already there. I really appreciate his very professional work.

David called back right away after my first call. He told me he could come that afternoon and called later to pinpoint the time. David came when he said he would. He fixed the toilet and had me flush it to be sure it was to my satisfaction, He snaked out the slow bathtub drain and tested it several times to be sure it drained quickly. David then looked at the gutter drain pipe coming out of the ground which is 50 plus years old and has always been clogged. He thought it would not be worth unclogging it but recommended rerouting the gutter, then having the pipe sawed off and filled with cement. I have been using Mr. Fix It for probably the past 8 years. In the past Felix and David have replaced drain pipes from my kitchen (a major job), replaced a toilet, replaced faucet washers, and unclogged drains on a number of occasions. Of late David has done the work, he always promptly returns calls and often comes to my house on the same day that I call. He is consistently professional, and the price is always quite reasonable.
