One Great Painter

John arrived when he said he would to take a look at our work. Sent an estimate that was easily understandable. Gave us some pointers on choosing colors and referred me to a web site to help. Came when agreed to start the project. Arrived each day as agreed and finished in the time he originally estimated. His work was great, nice and neat. John was absolutely a pleasure to work with and we would definitely call him again for any other painting work.

I know I found him on Angie’s List and the experience was very good. I picked out the color and he purchased the paint and painted the room. He took care of everything for me. He left me the leftover paint. I thought the price was excellent. I made an appointment and he came down here when he was supposed to. Everything was perfect.

We discovered John through Angie's List and we are pleased that he was able to squeeze us in between his larger jobs. We had ceiling and wall damage caused by ice dams. After the repair work was completed, we required the services of a painter to complete the restoration process. We contacted John and he responded within a day. Communication is easy, through e-mail and text. To give us an initial quote, he conveniently met me at the end of my work day to assess the scope of the job, and stated his price prior to leaving. His cost structure is straightforward, and he accurately estimated the amount of paint needed without excess. He followed up by e-mail that night and was able to start (and finish) the job within a week since our job was on the smaller side. John told us exactly what he would purchase for paint, and asked us to choose our colors conveniently by Internet. We received texts confirming starting times for each day. He estimated three days for the work, and met that time frame. John was attentive to the project, careful with his work, and a pleasure to talk to. We would hire him again without reservation and appreciate the high quality of his work.

John works by himself. We spoke on the phone and agreed on a time to meet. He was very punctual and we had a very productive, friendly and professional meeting going over the project in detail....his work process, timing and cost. He also explained in detail the intricacies of painting one way vs. another and its related benefits. I learned a lot. He just doesn't paint...he makes sure you understand how he plans to do the project . He said that the project would take 4-5 days. He finished in 5 days. What I appreciate is the fact that John always came on time, hardly took any breaks and cleaned up after he was done. He was very neat...not a drop of paint on the floor! After he finished everyday, he would look over his work and took notes if anything needed to be improved. He checked with me after the main color was applied to see if this was the color I expected. He was very conscious of the amount of paint he was using to ensure that he didn't have too much leftover. Because of his diligence, we only had minimal amount left for us to use later on as needed. I was a bit concerned about hiring just one painter but I was proven wrong. When you hire a good painter like John, you don,t have to worry about the other person's ability. He was very focused on his work and did a terrific job! I would definitely hire John again and definitely would recommend him to my family and friends.

Once again John did an excellent job in a timely manner. This is the third time he has painted in my home and he does a quality job. Thanks John, we will see you for the next project.

It went very well. He works alone which is what I wanted, rather than a crew of painters. He was very reliable, punctual, polite and friendly, as appropriate, extremely careful and precise in painting, and neat and clean. At the end of each day he asked me to look around to see if he missed anything and asked again the next day. There was only one spot on a wall that I asked him to repaint which he happily did. He doesn't mark up the cost of paint and charges a very reasonable daily rate for a full day of work (8 hours). He completed the job in 7 work days which we felt was very efficient. We plan to have him paint the second floor of our house next year. I highly recommend John and and extremely happy with the quality and cost of his work.

I have used John in the past and know how well he works. He came out and give us a price on the job but it wasn't until 4 months later when we decided to have the job done. John came out again and reviewed the job and told us it would take him 3 days to complete it. As usual, John did a fantastic job! He showed up on time and always kept us informed of how things were going each day. We were very happy with the results!

John exceeded all my expectations. His work was professional, impeccable and meticulous. Nothing was left undone or to even question! John explained everything and took the extra time to go over all that was to be done and how long the job would take to complete. He was prompt every day and the job took 7 days in which he finished right on time just as he had stated. He had all that he needed for the job contained in one small area so that it didn't get in the way of anything. It was just amazing! I can't say enough about him and his professionalism along with being one of the kindest, nicest people to have dealt with. I will definitely be using him again for Phase II to paint my bedrooms and bathrooms in the near future.. Thank you so much John! You have made the inside of my plain looking house into a beautiful home!

The quality of the work was great. John is very detailed and made sure everything was as close to perfect as possible. The project took much longer than it would have if I hired a team of painters, but not only was his price lower, but I think the quality came out better as well. He was in the house for 3 1/2 weeks total and I felt very comfortable having him there all day and I knew he would give me daily updates on the progress. He is very detailed in making sure you know how everything is going and if there are any delays. The project went longer than expected because of detailed wood work, but John stuck to his original quoted days and I thought that spoke volumes. Would certainly recommend him and use again.

John was punctual, gave good advice and did an outstanding job. Will definetly use again.

.Being the first time I have hired a professional painter, I noticed the differences right away! Where I would have purchased paint at the Bargain Outlet, he uses a quality paint. My back bedroom was painted a very dark forest green and the living room was a brick red. As I am selling the house and was advised to paint all the rooms white, I was skeptical 2 coats could do it. What a HUGE difference! Not only did it cover, it made the natural woodwork stand out nicely. My Dining room had an original stencil on the top part of the wall and hadn't been painted since it was done sometime in the 60's/70's. That room too is clean and bright. I was amazed that he taped nothing, but free handed all the trim! I guess that is a bonus of hiring a professional. The ONLY disappoint I ran into was that he hadn't noticed the baseboard heaters and didn't include them in his estimate but I will paint them. John was a pleasure to talk to, he had some ideas on what I needed to do to make the house more appealing to people looking for a new home, such as landscaping etc. He also knew someone he thought would be able to help with the yard work. Wow! He went above and beyond to help me and had some great ideas for me. I will definaiely use him when I find my new place to live!

Helped me coordinate colors. Professional and perfect painting job.

John did tremendous work on both rooms. He was extremely flexible with his schedule. We had originally thought we would be ready for paint 3 weeks prior to us actually being ready. John kept in touch and was able to work us into his schedule at a time that worked great for our schedule. John works carefully in occupied space, and is extremely thorough and detail oriented. After spending a day cutting in one room (and finishing the walls and trim), he was unfazed by the fact that we decided to change wall colors the next day. He was able to complete the repaint and all other work within the budget originally agreed to, and the schedule. John will be painting all of our rooms for years to come. We highly recommend him to anyone looking to get a great service at reasonable pricing.

My living room,dining room and upstairs hallway (with 6 doors) look like new. I am so very happy with the quality of John's work. The lines between ceilings and walls are perfect. I am also getting the floors refinished so John is even going to come back to touch up the baseboards . I had trouble finding a plasterer and John was trying to help me find someone as well. He was here for a week and every day he was personable and so very professional. John knows how to treat people they way that they want to be treated. I have had to do all the hiring during my married life and I have dealt with all types of repair men,contractors,painters,landscapers, roofers and anything else you can think of(including myself) for 31 years and I have never had such a professional,talented worker. He truly is a perfectionist about his work and the finished product shows it. I AM THRILLED with the outcome. I will never hire another painter. John, you have spoiled me! John did an excellent job. Before staritng the job, John gave an estimate of time and price for the job. He is professional and clean painter. He finished the job within his predicted estimate of time and actually worked couple of hours extra on last day to finish it within the estimate time. He works from 8 am to 4 pm and charges by per day. He bought paint for us, that was very convenient.

We had just moved into a new house in Duxbury and we hired John to paint about 80% of the house. John was wonderful to work with. He is neat, clean and considerate while doing a wonderful painting job. I wasn't certain of all my colors right away so room by room I would get samples which John would put up and help me decide which color to go with. He was very patient with me and would give his input when needed. I have a toddler at home and John was very nice to him and was always considerate of his nap times. I am very glad I went with one painter instead of a team - it was much more personalized. I would recommend John to anyone and plan to use him again in the future.

John was an absolute pleasure to work with! John arrived on time and gave me a price of how much the job would cost. I received additional estimates for the job but I liked the fact that John worked on one job at a time, told me how long the job would take and when he would be available to start. He was very instrumental in helping me make some color choices and brought a swatch deck to show me the colors. The rental property was vacant at the time and John was in contact with me everyday to inform me of his progress. I was excited to see the finished product and John did not disappoint! His work was exceptional and he explained everything he did. I am very pleased with John's work and would hire him again!

His work was terrific - I have a careful eye, and it passed my inspection with flying colors. The work included a built-in cabinet, drawers, a closet, walls and ceiling. He's very personable, and professional - he comes, and he works. As a sole practitioner, the work can extend out a bit, but he was extremely accommodating of our schedule needs. We were very pleased with the experience, and would recommend him highly.

From the beginning John was fantastic to work with. He came out right away to give us an estimate and he stayed in touch with us between that time and when the job began. He started the job when he said he would and finished on time as well. He is so easy to communicate with and he has a great work ethic. He is extremely neat and did an excellent job cleaning up everyday. We have kids and a dog and John made sure everything was neatly stored away at night. He was on time every morning and his pleasant personality makes it very easy to have him in your home. We are already scheduling more work with John!

The painter was very helpful with providing guidance on the color scheme and flow in addition to lending us a color palette from which we selected the colors for the rooms!. The workmanship was great! He repaired the scratched ceiling, and he meticulously painted the walls, ceilings, and associated trim. Not a drop of paint on the newly resurfaced floors, and no wall paint colors crossed onto trim or ceilings.. He arrived on time daily and did not leave the premises from lunch or breaks.

The upstairs hallway was a last minute decision and John graciously accomodated this change in plan. He was on time, within estimate, he called when he said he would and we enjoyed having him working in our home. John has a good eye for color and style and made several excellent suggestions. Our house appeared cleaner after John left, he was that conscientious! One very important resident of the house is our golden retriever, Cammy. John befriended her and she enjoyed John being here as much as we did. We are looking forward to having John return and do further work for us. It was a pleasure doing business with John and we highly recommend him. In our thinking John deserves an A+.

I did not hire John for this job, however he was very responsive to our needs and went way out of his way to provide some guidance. The job was for my brothers house who recently had a kitchen fire and required extensive repairs. However I would not have any problems in the future to contact John again.

I contacted John after searching Angie's list and reading the great reviews.. seeing a picture of his dog on his website was a bonus.. I'm a sucker for a cute fuzzy face. John came out to my home to look at what needed to be done and we connected right away. He's very nice, and polite, and not pushy at all. He gave me an estimate and said that he would not go over the estimate - he did not go over the estimate! John worked quietly and efficiently in my home. His work is fantastic! He left no mess - ever! He did not use tape (except on door handles) which sped the job up and there was no bleeding of paint - it was very precise. I have two small dogs who yapped at him for a bit before settling down, and John was very relaxed about it and said he loved dogs and they were no problem. This made me relax! I also had a carpenter in my home at the same time and he worked around him very nicely. I worked out of my home and was never disrupted by his work. I would highly recommend John and will definetly request his services again for future projects. I feel lucky to have found a good guy to work in my home.

He was prompt, pleasant, and efficient. His work is very neat and he did a good job at cleaning up.

It was a pleasure to interact with John. He was quite busy with painting work but was willing to come out of the way to provide me an estimate. I wanted to get my condo painted and I needed to get it done in less than 2 weeks. Finding a painter in summer who would do it at a reasonable price was extremly difficult. John clearly explained what he would do, and how long it would take. The price he quoted was very reasonable. The only reason I did not go with John was that another aquaintance of mine offered to do the work for me who I get to interact with all the time. For my next painting job, John will certainly be the first one I would call.
