We got 5 bids on a new deck off our dining room. Socelvic was in the middle. We went with them because of Angies list reviews and we really liked Celio, who came out and priced out the project. They are a family company out of Brighton. Celio did the job himself with help from his 2 other guys who were also very nice. We provided a fairly detailed photoshop rendering of what we were looking for. The deck was a bit unorthodox in that we wanted the top railing to be a 8" flat surface, almost like a bartop all the way around the deck. Plus we knew we wanted composite flooring. Celio was excellent both in suggesting design ideas and helping us pick materials. We hoped for and discussed a month long turnaround. The project started in June and was completed in August. It took longer due to weather and materials issues, as well as a small personal issue that Celio had to deal with. Celio was patient with minor design changes and was responsive to texts and phone calls throughout the process. We were originally going to go with all PVC for the railings but when Celio opened the packaging, he didn't feel the materials were up to his standards. We ended up using wood for the railings and Celio built them to accommodate the plastic spindles. The bar top is also made of wood and came out very nice though the two joints where the wood meets isn't perfectly flush (used wood fill to tighten it up but still looks a bit off). One of the great things about Celio is that I know if I have an issue down the road with his work, he will come back and take a look. He stands by his craftsmanship and takes great pride in his work. After a few weeks, things were a bit messy and materials started accumulating around the back yard. I realize most crews have this same tendency so I didn't hold this against Socelvic. Once I said something to him, they immediately cleaned up and continued to do so each night. We also had an ugly concrete front porch that Celio suggested covering with the same decking we used in the back. Other contractors said the concrete had to be dug up and the porch needed to be rebuilt. Celio saw another solution, installed the Azek decking over the concrete, and saved us time and money by not having to rebuild. It looks a hundred times better and seems to be holding up just fine. Overall I would recommend Celio and Socelvic 100 percent. The minor issues we had were just that, minor - and Celio was a good guy as well as a reliable contractor. Hard to find both qualities these days. Plus they take credit cards which is a huge bonus. Celio also provided detailed invoices and itemized materials receipts so you know you aren't getting ripped off. He makes his money on the labor. We will be doing more work in the future and will always have Celio bid on the project.

I live in an old two family house and with the age of the house comes years of old issues that many other owners just ignored or patched. My bathroom ceiling was quickly deteriorating so I decided to find out why by opening a hole to take a peek. Low and behold there was lots of debris (from the floor about) weighing down the whole ceiling! Knowing that this was above my head I decided to just gut and remodel my bathroom to find any other issues and to fix them correctly. I called many contractors but I went with Socelvic Company. When the owner came to give me a quote for a full bathroom remodel job, I was impressed on the quickness of the visit and he was very strait forward on what would need to be done. I didn?t feel like I was being ?over sold? or talked into anything I was comfortable with. I received a very competitive quote within hours of the visit. The thing that impressed me the most was the time it took to start the project. I received the quote on a Friday and there was a crew to start working the next Tuesday! As the project progressed the owner was in constant contact with me and telling me everything that he was doing and all of the issues that they discovered. Once he demolished the walls, ceiling and floors he discovered some structural issues as well as water damage to the floor boards and window sill. All of the hidden issues were fixed and with not too much of price increase or time to the original quote. When it came to the design of the bathroom there were no issues on getting it done to my liking. When everything was all done we did a final walkthrough of the project and was impressed on what was done in the 8 days of the project. Overall I was very lucky to have found someone who did a quality job in the timeframe that I needed it to be done. I had to relocate my family during the project (it?s the only bathroom) and the owner understood that and certainly stepped up to get my family back in quickly!

Socelvic Company was polite and gave us a reasonable estimate. Although we decided to go with someone else, I would definitely contact them for another estimate next time.

Everything went very smoothly from paint choices to rebuilding of the walls. Lots of small plaster repairs and a couple of large plaster repairs. The walls look great! At the end of the job, they were great about cleaning up all the little drips that fell on window screens and more.

Excellent quality work. Did a great job listening to what I wanted for a new railing, and found just what I was looking for. It went very smoothly!

Originally I was scheduled for earlier in the summer but fortunately they were able to accommodate a date in October so my garden could finish it's season. Everything went very well and my neighbors have even complimented us on the paint job.

After a rain delay, the crew worked long days. They were careful and thorough. The house had been in bad shape with peeling paint but looks awesome. The crew even washed the windows and did other extras.

I can't say enough about this company. First, they fit us in to their busy schedule to get our painting done before winter, despite the rainy Fall season. Second, they did EXCELLENT work. They were neat and thorough with their painting, focusing on detail, and making sure the paint didn't drip onto the brick work, etc. They also repaired and replaced some rotted wood gutters. It looks great. All this was done for a great price. To top it off, after Hurricane Sandy, they came buy and fixed some damaged wood shutters that they had painted at NO ADDITIONAL COST!! The customer service, the quality, the timeliness, and the attention to detail is the best I've seen. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. I now intend to use them for other home improvement projects, such as interior painting, etc.

I love this company. They have done 3 jobs on our house. The owner Ceilo is really great. He manages the projects and the work is top notch. They work very quickly and clean up really well. The only issue I have is with their office staff. She has not been able to tell me when the job is going to start. It does not seem she and Ceilo are always on the same page as far as priorities. She is difficult to understand and does not seem to be able to resolve simple issues. That is NOT a reason not to use them The work is outstanding!

The price was higher than the original estimate, and final invoicing and receipts were significantly delayed, but the painting work was high-quality. The company offered to do an additional project -- replacing the front door. Unfortunately, it was a complicated job due to the non-standard lock, and we had to hire a locksmith to repair the work; it still isn's working properly. Still, we would highly recommend this contractor for exterior painting.

Had Socelvic do the trim work on my attic master bedroom project, and install beadboard on the ceiling. The carpenters were promt, skilled and fast, and did decent quality work. The issues arose with the bid. I asked the company to bid the install of all moudling (door/window, crown, base) and when they got to the baseboard they said it would cost more to install that because the floor was not level and had peaks and valleys in it. I agree the floor was not level, as this is almost a 100 year old house. The owner saw the job prior to bidding and the floor situaion had not changed. So, I ended up having to scribe and install the 120' of 6" base myself, AND the job cost $500 more than quoted. I felt a little bit like the owner got another job and wanted to move the crew on... Again, I think the guys that did the work were top notch and totally trustworthy, but the business relationship was sour. If I ever used them again I would insist on a fixed bid with a +10% rider.

I exchanged words and submitted a $100 deposit on July 16th. I couldn't get them to come out until the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. He came out and sanded and primed the door. He then left and said he would be back to put the finishing paint on by 1pm. He showed back up at 4:30pm and expected me to stay around that evening after I had already mentioned I had to be somewhere that night. They offered to come out the next day or Monday (Labor Day), but I had already made plans for the holiday weekend, as well. They have not showed up since and everytime I call, they say they will get in touch with me but have not heard from them.

I chose SOCELVIC partly because of their reasonable estimate, partly because they were willing and able to repair and/or replace any bad wood they encountered while preparing to paint, and not least because of the good customer reviews they have received. During the preparation process they identified a number of problem areas and went over proposed solutions with me. Once we had agreed on an estimate for the cost of the solutions, they proceeded expeditiously with the carpentry work, and then completed the painting. I am very pleased with the results of both carpentry and painting. The final charge was somewhat lower than I had anticipated. I would happily use their services again.

this was an estimate only, so can't rate quality, but the contractor seemed very knowledgeable.

I called him twice and he never returned my calls. I'm sure he does good work, but he wasn't very responsive in my experience.

As stated, there was an initial paint selection issue, but the repainting solved the problem.

They did a great job and were careful with lead issues.
