ACCURATE APPLIANCE REPAIR

John was very professional and made sure he diagnosed the correct issue before ordering parts. He even offered to order two different parts and return the used one in case he was mistaken about the cause of the issue. The price was reasonable and he was informative about what he was doing before taking any action. The repair was performed once the parts arrived and everything is working well. I would have no problem using him again.

John was very helpful in coming promptly and very carefully diagnosing the problem during an initial visit, and then returning a later day with the new unit and making the needed repair. He is very helpful with scheduling over the phone and goes out of his way to explain everything that needs to be done, and why.

Easy and reasonably priced. John explained everything and cleaned out the parts of my dishwasher. Recommend; would call again.

I was tremendously pleased with my entire experience with John at Affordable Appliance. He was prompt in returning my phone calls if he wasn't available to answer on the first try, and scheduled both of my appointments (diagnostic and repair) quickly and catered to my challenging schedule. He was able to get the replacement parts almost immediately and the turn around time was far quicker than I'd expected (< 2 days). John is clearly an expert in his field. He immediately figured out the problem, and was also able to explain to me in terms I could understand how and why he knew what it was, and in the process, evaluated my entire dryer and washer so we could make an educated decision about whether to repair or replace the appliances. He was thorough in his assessment and this helped me guide my decision. He was also very patient with me in discussing price and options and I felt I was very equipped to make the right decision for us. During his visits, John was always tremendously professional and courteous and cleaned up everything himself. He even vacuumed out my entire dryer and the vent system of all of the lint! I felt very comfortable with him there. Best of all - he made the awful noise go away on the first try!! I would absolutely recommend John and Accurate Appliance to anyone needing their services and will certainly be returning should further issues arise for us in the future.

John was professional, and excellent at what he does. He really tries hard, has a great attitude, and has a wonderful ability to problem solve and most of all he is very honest . Reasonably priced as well.

Very helpful. John is thorough and cares about great service. He has been repairing our kitchen appliances for the past 17 years. He also repairs washers and dryers. His work is high quality, his rates very fair, and he always arrives for appointments on time. Additionally, John is an especially nice person who takes well-deserved pride in doing a first-class job and in pleasing his customers.

Unlike some electric stoves which are hinged, the entire top of our gas Frigidaire stove had to be removed by first removing the individual burners which hold the top down. John did this quickly and expertly, and then replaced the entire burner control assembly in very short order. I also liked that he was fastidious in cleaning up his work and left this stove top perfectly clean--no smudges.

He replaced the faulty heating coil that was in my oven. It was much harder than he thought to remove it but he perserveered and replaced the coil. It is working better than new now!!

My clothes dryer needed repair because it was not heating up. I called this company on Monday and spoke to John. He scheduled an appointment window on Wednesday between 3 and 4 pm. On Wednesday I waited at home all afternoon but no one showed up either between 3 and 4 as scheduled or at any other time. No one phoned to explain or reschedule. Now I have to find another repair service and take more time to wait for them. I definitely will not call this company again, nor will I recommend them to anyone.

They were very nice and polite. They were willing to do the work for me, but they said it would likely be better and cheaper if I bought a new refrigerator instead of repairing my old one.

Ice maker stopped working so called John. Problem turned out not to be ice maker but a valve and a dislocated tube (we had a leak and didn't know it). John was very thorough in figuring out what was wrong and excellent at explaining to non-technical people what was wrong. Had to order the part so came twice. Very neat in cleaning up after done. Marked him down slightly on punctuality because he came after his stated time, but both times he called us to let us know so it wasn't a problem. Price seemed very fair for the amount of time he spent. Highly recommend!

we called in the morning, they came in the afternoon and the fridge works!

A few days before the holidays were about to begin, my clothes washer and trash compactor stopped working. I called Accurate Appliance because it was highly rated on Angies List even though several reports complained about no-shows. John could only do it at the last minute before the holidays, but he said there was no problem doing it at that time. He promised he would be there. I waited for him for hours past the agreed time. But he didn't show up, didn't call, didn't reschedule, just left me stuck with five bedrooms full of guests and no washer.

went well, he was late for the repair appointment but we rescheduled and it was fine. He spent a lot of time for the diagnostic which was great and also for the repairs.

I called Accurate Appliance last Tuesday hoping to get my washing machine repaired. They called back promptly and told me they could come on Friday between 3-4. On Friday I made sure to be home early from work to be there for the service. After 3 I received a call saying they were backed up and would have to push back my appointment not a few hours but for 4 days until the following Tuesday. While I was disappointed as laundry is piling up, I said I understood and made a new appointment for Tuesday between 11-12. It is now 1:30 and while I have called a number of times I haven't heard from them at all. I will not use this company again and recommend you do the same.

We continue to use this vendor because he is very knowledgeable and is inexpensive. Sometimes, it has taken a while for the repair to be completed, but this was partly do to lead time for needed parts.

Great! The service provider arranged a time to come to my house, called in advance and arrived on time. He was friendly and professional. He figured out quickly what the problem was and billed an amount that was very reasonable.

He was punctual, called before he arrived. He spent an hour working on the oven. He gave me the amount he would charge before beginning the job. He was professional , taking time to explain to me the problem I had with the stove.

I had researched the problem and guessed it was the thermal fuse being blown. When he arrived, he took notes on what I explained and looked around then gave me a summary of what it could be, and that it was likely the thermal fuse. Problem was that the fuse is in the back of the dryer and the dryer is jammed into a cubby and cannot be moved. He went the extra mile by reaching back behind the dryer in a difficult maneuver so he could fix it without having to charge me a fortune to try to get the dryer out. He also cut the exhaust hose so that it would perform better and told me how to replace the outdoor vent myself, even drew a picture of the piece I need from Home Depot. He was VERY helpful and went out of his way to make it an economical repair for me. He also cleaned up after himself. The only complaint was that he was supposed to come at 9:30 on Tuesday but called at 9:45 to say he was running very late, and we rescheduled for Thursday, but he called again that day and was running about an hour late again.

Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. I called Accurate on Wednesday. John called back on Thursday and we agreed on him coming over Friday evening. John came within the time frame he gave. He inspected the oven carefully. One of the screws in the oven had rusted, and he patiently went over all the possible ways to remove it. He then determined that the fault was with the igniter. He then gave me a quote to fix it -- $40 service charge + part + labor (= $148). I asked him to take care of it. He did it very carefully and patiently. On the way, he would answer any questions I would have. Once the new igniter was on, the oven worked fine. While doing the job, John noticed two minor problems (which we were aware of). One of the clips that connects the cooking range top to the base below it was bent; John easily fixed that. He also noticed that one of the range knobs was loose. He pointed out why it was so and fixed that too. Both of these did take some time, and he did not add any extra charges for these. It may have been a very easy job for John given that broken igniters are probably very common. In any case, he did a nice job and was prompt. He was also methodical and clean. He left the place exactly as clean as it was prior to the job.

If you have followed the news at all, you'll know that the vendor has been having a very difficult time with customer service. It took over six weeks for this part to arrive. John was very good about either calling me or returning my phone calls as I checked up on the arrival of the timer. During these six weeks, I learned how much time to apply to each cycle and would manually move the knob from wash, to rinse, to spin to get the laundry done. It was extremely annoying. Once the part arrived, John was willing to install it whenever I wanted, even very late on a Sunday evening! He also noticed that the water hoses going to the washer were bent in a funny way and replaced those as well. He also leveled the dryer while he was there, since it needed to be leveled. He was great and I loved the way he did extra tasks that made the laundry room just work better. While I was frustrated with how long it took to have this repair made, the vendor's fault, not John's. I had originally called the vendor to have them do the work, but I got such a run around about scheduling that I gave up. I'm glad I found John. I'll use him again.
