Eliot was great to work with. He is an excellent communicator and lets you know what's going on even before he gets there. He was originally hired to replace some rollers on my wife's garage using the Big Deal for $89. The door shook every time it opened or closed. I thought it would come off the tracks. Prior to him coming I contacted Eliot and asked to replace the weatherstripping on both garage doors during the same visit. He asked me for dimensions and got back to me immediately with a price. I sent a photo of the door with the dimensions and he replied back that the reason the weatherstip on the door was tearing was that they had installed it incorrectly and it caught every time the door went up or down. He took the time to look at the photo I sent and blew it up to see the details. He arrived on time and did a beautifiul job installing the rollers and weatherstripping - he even adjusted the travel of the doors so they would close down properly and seal out any water from the bottom. The old "Shaky"door rides up and down quiet as a mouse and smooth as glass. When he completed his work he spent some time going over the doors with my wife - they're approx. 30 years old and they are beginning to warp (you reallly have to look to see it but he pointed it out so that we could see what was happening). There are several sections on each door that will need to be replaced. There's no budget for it this year but you can bet next Spring Eliot is getting the call to come down and replace these sections. These people were easy to work with, they are responsive and communicate freely and they take great pride in their work - as they should - they are outstanding. I would highly recommend them and I will personally use them again.

No service was performed but company called me immediately and were quick in responding.

They replaced a section of the door that had been damaged. They did a good job, I was not present for the job. They were on time and professional. Talk with them about every step of the way so that you know what they are doing and it agrees with what you want.

Jay Goodrow was one of the few contractors I contacted who took the time on a weekend to come out and give me an estimate. He was professional and friendly and gave me some insight into the project we were undertaking. On top of that, he gave us a reasonable estimate along with a spot on assessment of the work to be done and the timeframe in which it would be completed. In terms of communication this was a great experience, I had several concerns that Jay was quick to respond to, and the Operations Manager, Eliot did a great job of setting up an appointment and even sent a reminder the day before to let me know what tasks needed to be completed prior to work beginning. The installation went quickly and the door looks fantastic. Afterwards Jay demonstrated the operation of the door and found a small issue with the door not latching properly when closed from the inside, which was quickly and expertly rectified. Overall I am very satisfied with this experience and would recommend Goodrow Door Solutions.

THE ONLY GOOD THING - the technician arrived right on time. SERVICE WAS DONE - WITH WORSE RESULTS THAN BEFORE THEY ARRIVED. I have two garage doors. I made the appointment as a simple maintenance call to have one garage door adjusted, the other one needed a spring replaced. NOTE: BOTH GARAGE DOORS WERE FULLY WORKING BEFORE TECHNICIAN ARRIVED! Immediately, the technician told me the motor was almost going on the first garage door that needed adjusting, pointing to something in the motor that, unless I was a garage door repairman, would have no idea what he was talking about. He immediately advised that I get the motor replaced, said he might have one in his truck and it was going to be $400 to install, but since THE DOOR HAD BEEN WORKING, I suggested that he do just the adjustment for now. The second garage door motor had been working perfectly fine and just needed a spring replacement. It was fine before he left. THE NEXT DAY....the garage door opener that had the spring replaced quit working completely - DEAD. NOTHING. THREE DAYS LATER...The garage door opener that I asked for an adjustment on actually EXPLODED in my garage and was DEAD after that. SO, I WAS LEFT WITH TWO NON-WORKING GARAGE DOORS! After taking the afternoon off from work and spending $175.00! After I emailed the owner, his response was insulting. He told me the technician did nothing wrong and he would be happy to return to my house to help me open my garage door manually. (seriously? After 3 days I couldn't figure out how to get my car out of my garage?!) and he basically stated that the only recovery was to have them install two new garage door openers at the cost of $400 each which he would conveniently have in his truck when he returned. I am NOT a happy customer and why should I be?! I DO NOT recommend this company. I WISH I HAD NEVER CALLED THIS COMPANY. BEFORE I CALLED THEM I HAD TWO WORKING GARAGE DOORS - AFTER THEY "WORKED" ON THEM - I HAVE TWO NON-WORKING GARAGE DOORS. I have since had to call another company, recommended by a friend. The technician reworked the wiring that the Goodrow person messed up and got it working just fine. There was a hint that the motor that blew up was more or less rigged that the door would miss the door stop and purposely hit the motor to cause it to explode like it did. He couldn't exactly prove it, but there was no other explanation.

The servicemen adapted the installation of the garage door opener to the older construction in our carriage house.

The initial visit was with a voucher from Amazon local and was over 50% off the regular price. They were punctual, knowledgeable and efficient. Six months later the door started opening back up after closing completely. They came right out and fixed it up in no time. The no time is the only reason I am not giving them an A for price. $100 bucks was a lot for such a quick fix. I do understand minimums etc but it will make us try a little harder the next time to figure it out ourselves.

Provided great service - explained what was wrong with the door, pointed out other things with the garage system that I did not know about. Would definitely use them again!

r I am pleased with Goodrow Garage Door company. I purchased an Angie's List promotion and arranged for maintenance service to correct a noisy electric garage door. Jason from Goodrow arrived promptly at the selected day and time and I am pleased with his work. The wheels were changed and general maintenance was performed efficiently, promptly and neatly. Jason was clean, polite and knowledgeable and took time to explain what he was doing and how I should take care of my door and motor so as to lengthen life. I had also asked that a neighbor be included while he was ere and he took care of her doors as well. We are both quite satisfied with the work and considerably quieter functioning of our garage doors.

Tech showed up on time, and the job was done quickly. Very professional, explained the entire system to me and how to use the features. The old garage door was taken away, and the work area was left clean. Would highly recommend Goodrow Door Solutions!!!

The owner was fantastic about getting in touch and staying in touch with me after I purchased the deal (this winter). I decided to wait until the Spring to get the roller tune-up. They scheduled the appointment within a week of my email and gave a 2 hour window in which they would arrive. The installer (Jason) came promptly at the beginning of the window, reviewed the system, listened to my concerns and issues, and did the service I had purchased (replacement of rollers). He even made some adjustments for the other door and door opener as well. He made adjustments based on my concerns and did not push any additional sales or try to tell me that something needed replacement just to get more out of the job. Jason was professional, courteous, and efficient. When I need any future garage door or garage door opener repairs/replacements - I will definitely contact Goodrow Door Solutions. This was as smooth a transaction as I could have hoped for and the service was exceptional from Day 1!

Prior to calling Goodrow, we had 2 old style narrow garage doors that made it extremely difficult to enter and leave our garage. We only had about an inch of clearance on each side, and it was easy to snag a mirror on the way in or out (we had already replaced or fixed a side mirror twice in the past year). Our next planned car (a minivan) was literally 1 inch too wide for the old garage doors - so we knew it was time to change. From online research, we learned that it is very doable to convert a 2 stall garage into a wide 1 stall, but it would require the coordination of 2 different contractors (a builder and a door installer). Of the 3 installers we called for an estimate, Goodrow was by far the most prompt and thorough in their estimate; and rather than tell us what we already knew from our own research like the other installers did ("you guys need to get a builder to redo the garage first"); Goodrow took ownership of the entire job and brought in its own partner to do the construction work. On the day of the build and install (it all got done in one day); everything was coordinated like clockwork. Goodrow's crew showed up at 7:30 am to remove the old garage doors and hardware; then Harrison Remodeling (their builder-partner) showed up around 10 to do the construction. The construction was finished around 3:30 (including all proper support beams, white trim to match the house, and appropriate shingles to match the siding of the rest of the garage and house) - and then the Goodrow crew showed up to install the new door. Once the entire project was completed at about 6:30 pm, the Goodrow crew meticulously cleaned up all of the debris from the construction and installation, and then went through the entire area with a magnet to make sure there were no stray nails or bolts. The garage area was cleaner at the end of the project than at the beginning. The entire project started and finished in 1 day - but more importantly, the work looks fantastic. The door is beautiful; the motor works much better than the old one; and the construction work fits the house perfectly - a definite upgrade to the exterior of the house.

The technicians were all-around excellent. They responded to my inquiry the same day and completed all necessary work the very next day. While the technicians had concerns about the door motor (it's 14 years old), they didn't feel that it was worthwhile to remove and replace. They were very knowledgeable, friendly, and thorough.

When getting the estimate from Goodrow, I appreciated the time they took to explain what would be replaced and what could be reused. They even told me what not to use even if I did not hire them! The job started 12/2/13 and was completed 12/5/13. I was a little nervous in the beginning with the gap that was left before the seals were in but I am very happy with the finished job. The new doors are extremely quiet. My garage was much warmer this winter which is a big plus as the bedrooms are above the garage. I recently had an error message on one of the wall remotes that wasn't listed in the manual. I called and left Jay a message asking what it was and how do I fix it. He returned my call immediately, much faster than I expected, telling me what was going on and how to correct it. The work area was left clean (well, as clean as they found it).

He came to the house but he couldn’t fix the garage door. I was so impressed with him because I didn’t really expect to get my money back but then he drove 40 minutes each way, spent 30 minutes at the house trying to see if he could fix it. He told me in good conscience that he couldn’t take my money and to get reimbursed by Angie’s List in which I did. I highly recommend him and his business. He gave me an estimate, brought samples, answered all my questions, and gave me a very fair price. He uses very good quality product.

Went well. They quickly fixed the broken garage door, and we are incredibly happy with the results. Would definitely recommend them in the future, and hire them again.

My husband was here when they arrived so I'm not entirely sure of the details, but I know that they fixed it and it works well!

It went great. My house is an old 1950's ranch with a very strange garage door setup. It required careful planning to design and install a low-overhead door system that would fit into the space provided by the older door. Jay from Goodrow came out and was a pleasure to work with. He explained all the options, told me what the difficulties were, and let me choose from a variety of models in a catalog. A couple weeks later the door was ready to install, and he came out and installed it in a couple hours. The quality is very high, with careful attention paid to sealing the door against drafts. The door is also quiet an nicely insulated -- our garage is now much warmer in the winter, which means the room above it is no longer an icebox. I highly recommend them for prompt, quality service and responsiveness, as well as what I found to be a fair price (they were actually a little bit cheaper than the competitors I had come out to give estimates, yet considerably more professional).

Service was excellent and expedient. Professionalism was top notch. Springs were not part of the coupon, but he did recommend them but in no way did he pressure me or "try to sell" them. He simply said they were a good idea. Stand up guy, I will never use anyone else for Garage door repair.

We bought the service thru Angies List for $79.00. The company was very responsive in setting up appointment thru eamils( my preference of communication) and performaning the service.The service was done as described on the Big Deal. They arrived on time and get the job done quickly. They also recommand to installed safety cables for an additional charge. We like this company and would highly recommand this company to our friends and neighbors.

I was so pleased I asked them to return to lower the door so it could close properly. I am thrilled with the responsiveness and professionalism and happy to have the door close properly for the first time.

I was very impressed with the company, they came out and were very honest and informed me that they would not be able to do the work, they did not charge me for the service call, I will use them again in the future.
