It was a waste of time and money. Papalia was one of three plumbing/drain service companies I called to price a job of clearing sink drain clogs in our two bathrooms. Unlike others, they insisted they could not estimate the cost of the job until they came out to have a look. For this visit, they charge a $50 dispatch fee. That fee was charged whether or not I hired them. I reluctantly agreed to the terms. The office and technician were professional. Their pricing model is rediculous. I described my problem to their technician. He poked at some icons on his tablet and came up with a price for the service. He gave me a price of around $350 to clear one drain. The second one would be additional money. There is no way he had to come to my house and charge me $50 to price this work. Their rate was twice what I ended up paying from another provider. I paid him the $50 dispatch fee and sent him on his way. Perhaps they figure a homeowner will pay the inflated rate for service if they are already paying the dispatch fee. Perhaps these guys are good at more complex plumbing projects. Either was, their business/pricing model does not scale down to a simple drain snaking project. I do not recomend Papalia Plumbing Services for drain clearning. I won't consider them for any pumbing work. Check their competitors before committing to their rates.

The installation went well, on time and I am very satisfied with the new Heating and Cooling System. The system is running very well and we are looking forward to enjoy it for many seasons to come. Thank you Papalia Home Services.

This company gets an A+ imo..quality of work was outstanding..our service tech was Mike , he does excellent work and has outstanding people skills

Short Story: Charge you an arm and a leg so get your wallet and keep it ready. Long Story:To fix water heater searched Angie's list, Google Reviews, Yelp. All three were great for Pappalia. So chose Pappalia. Called them about the issue and told that I have the fault code from Water heater would they be able to give me a estimate over the phone. Receptionist explained that they cannot give estimate over the phone based on this information and they would have to send somebody to come take a look. Explained process was: It would be $50 to come over and technician will diagnose and give an flat rate to take care of the entire problem. I went with the appt. Technician showed up ontime. Technician spent few mins, still hasn't really troubleshooted anything and gave me an estimate to replace the entire water heater (around ~3500). I told I need the estimate just to fix the issue and not replace the water heater. Technician now started explaining $50 is to just to "show up" (same exact words) and to troubleshoot he needs to charge me $230 on top of $50 just to give an estimate to fix the issue. Now with kids at home and little pressed to get this work completed soon I agreed to spend $280 just to get an estimate instead ending the talk at $50. He came out with an estimate of $505 to fix ignitor cable. Guess what it matches the fault code from manufacturer that I had in the first place and I showed as soon as tech walked in the door. It took two visits after the first visit to solve the issue with a cost of $785 to fix a cable and cable replacement took about an hour at max (it's not like somebody's taking apart the boiler to find and replace this cable). Overall no no and wouldn't recommend to anyone out there unless you want to spend big money. Good luck!

I was very nervous that our fix would require a constantly increasing amount of money, because it was so hard to diagnose. Papalia did twice as much work as we initially expected, but stuck to the original quote, which I am SO impressed by. That level of responsibility, combined with the excellent communication throughout the process (particularly by Brad, who was our primary contact) is pure gold. I will absolutely use them for all future plumbing needs, and have already recommended them to several friends.

Mike was awesome. He found/fixed the problem with our garbage disposal and saved us the cost of buying a new one. While he was here he also noticed and immediately fixed a problem with our toilet. Highly recommend!

It all went very smoothly: we scheduled a time very soon after I told them we wanted to proceed and they stuck to it. The project was supposed to take 2 1/2 days, but took an extra day because they had trouble getting the parts they needed. But we were only without heat on the last day, when they stayed until after 6 pm to be sure everything was completed. They cleaned up every day and at the end. They were respectful, friendly and easy to have in the house. This was a complex job and they did it very well.

They botched the shower head and I had to hire someone else. But the real kicker is what they charged, and how they dealt with us afterward. First, they charged $50 just to arrive. I understand travel time and gas, so OK. Then, they made us sign a contract before we did anything else, and I later realized that, in the fine print, we agreed to a diagnosis fee. This was $125, and we had nothing to diagnose at all. They ended up billing us over $400 for this job, then refused to return and fix the shower head problem. I ended up hiring someone else for that. When I called, they were not helpful, not sorry about the shower head fail, difficult regarding scheduling a return, combative when criticized about the diagnosis charge... they promised to call, and never did. I was very angry, but once I really read the contract, I realized that they were covered. Don't hire them! I am amazed that they can remain in business. They are incompetent gougers.

They made two trips at my request to diagnose, get warranty parts from the manufacturer, and then come back to install it. They were great and would hire them again.

Service was great, from initial call to job completion. I called on a Saturday and they returned my call on Sunday with a reasonable time frame for the service (2 days). They provided a service window but called morning of with an offer to come earlier due to another job cancellation. Mike arrived right on time, was very pleasant, helpful and professional. He reached my landlord quickly, had approval to replace the tank and was back in no time with a new tank that he installed. He reviewed the shut-off information before leaving. He also noted a need to replace a faulty valve in a shower that was not functional. Fantastic service!!! I cannot comment on price since my landlord did not respond to my request to rate it.

Rob and Ryan arrived at the appointed time. I had met Rob a week prior to assess the repair and obtain a proposal. On the date of repair we reviewed the scope of the work and what wall, if necessary, would be opened. Thankfully, upon further inspection no wall needed to be opened and the work commenced. The attic, as in most houses isn’t the most pleasant area to work in; my home probably more so with blown in insulation. They got the work done sooner than expected and did a thoroughly excellent job cleaning up the mess (insulation). Ryan was also kind enough to bring down a couple of items I had in the attic.

Mike was responsive and very professional, and left the area cleaner than he found it. He explained our options on each job, and was done in under 2 hours. Would definitely hire again.

The problem was just a loose connection. Scott from Papalia Plumbing had it fixed in just a few minutes. The charge was basically just for the service call. All repairs should go as smoothly.

had already called numerous plumbers, no one had availabilitu. they called back & said they could have s technician there in 30 minutes. eithin an hour, the problem was diagnosed and my options were thoroughly explained to me. l opted to have it replaced which they completed that same day. The current water heater had been installed incorrectly, which he rectified. the main water shut off was corroded, so I authorized replacement of that part. I wad very happy with the service.

I called them on Saturday morning and they had a plumber at my home on Saturday afternoon. He word me a price, installed a new water heater within two hours and charged me exactly what he had quoted.

After being told they could not come to check the system for three days they called back and sent someone within two hours. The technician diagnosed the problem (a blockage in a drain pipe) and was able to restore full heat in 30 minutes.

It went well except for the cost. The disposal cost me $200 and the install cost me $314.

All service visits were successful. Communications with the dispatch office and scheduling of work were easy. Plumbers always arrived on time, were knowledgeable, fixed the problems, and they were courteous. I won't hesitate to hire Papalia Plumbing again, and I recommend them strongly.

Sink blockage was fixed but they wanted to charge extra for replacing the strainer as a separate job at an extremely high rate.

It's a pretty smooth experience with papalia. Dave came and gave an estimate that is in line with other quotes. From conversation, i can tell Dave is very knowledgeable. He is also quick at replying my questions on the project via email. It is a two day project, the installation team led by Roger is also very profession. I am satisfied with their work.

We had hired Papalia to install two ductless mini-split units in our house in June. At that time, they contracted out the necessary electrical work. The contracted electrician had done a sloppy job, weaving wires around plumbing pipes and other wires. After my review, and much to their credit, Papalia offered to make the wiring right. I'm pleased to say that Papalia now has their own on-staff electrician. Brandon listened carefully to our concerns about how the wiring was done initially. Within 30 minutes, he had rearranged the wires so that they didn't loop around pipes and other wires. Additionally, he was as pleasant and attentive to details as the plumbers that did the installation of our ductless mini-split units in June.

Quote was $700, got work done by another contractor for $200

Quality of work excellent, Field service personnel was professional; Price was reasonable. Only complaint was very late notification that the wrong part was either ordered or delivered, leading to delay of job, and we had already taken time off of work to only be informed too late.

It went well and I now use Papalia Plumbing & Heating Inc as my regular plumber.
