Excellent work, did more than was asked

The water valve to my shower was leaking as well as a valve on the toilet. Not knowing any plumbers in my new neighborhood, I called Papalia. As with most large service providers, they had sufficient staff to send someone down relatively quickly. The shower valve was a simple rebuild, for which the service provider had the parts in his truck. The toilet valve was also a quick replacement. The downside was the extremely high cost, even with the Angie's List discount. It seems unbelievable that two simple valve replacements cost $427. I probably could have had the job completed for much less cost with an independent plumber, but then I might have had to wait for his availablility and for him to order parts. Papalia did a good job fixing the problem, but I don't think that I can afford to pay their price again next time.

It was fine. They were responsive. It took a while for the part to come and they didn't communicate that. They were on time. Their price seemed expensive but reasonable.

We had a leaking pipe in the basement which I discovered just before going away on vacation. They were able to come out the same day that we called and completed the work quickly.

Job was to only replace shower knobs, spouts, nozzles, hoses etc.. However, because they are limited in the products they offer, we had to install a new hot water mixer. We went through with it, but I don't believe it was necessary. $200 job went to a $1000 job. But it was done nicely.

My toilet was leaking at the base. The man pulled the toilet, put a new wax ring and reset the toilet. No more leaks. It was done on a Saturday, so there was an extra fee for that as they only do emergency calls on weekends.

Adam arrived in the middle of the window that they had given us, which was really good. He immediately diagnosed the problem and gave us the quote for the work that needed to be done. He wound up having to do extra, but didn't increase the cost. He was very professional, courteous (used dropcloths on the floor in the basement and booties over his shoes when going into the house) and did a very thorough job. We were very happy with everything, will definitely use them again and will recommend them to friends.Thank you!

From start to end this was a pleasant experience. I called in the morning with a shower that would not shut off. They sent someone out the same afternoon. They were very upfront about the pricing (dispatch fee and then what it would cost for the labor and parts). The technician arrived within the window provided. He addressed the problem quickly as he had the parts stocked in his truck. I would definitely use Papalia again.

We received several estimates for this job and Papalia came in lowest by $3K, so we were thrilled with the price. Everything went perfectly. This was the third time we had used Papalia - the first time was for regular maintenance and the second for a furnace replacement. We were so appreciative of their high quality of service and professionalism that we decided to go with them for the ductless heating/cooling install. As always, the members of the Papalia team were courteous and professional. They were as unobtrusive as possible, doing their best to work around us when we were home. They always cleaned up after themselves completely, and the work was done perfectly the first time. We couldn't be happier, and will definitely be using them again in the future.

It turned out great! The total cost was a lot more, $500 additionally, for materials and labor. The pricing seemed expensive, but the work was efficient and good.

It took some time to schedule what I needed done, that should have sent up red flags for me. Derek came on May 3 to check where I wanted the vent installed and the size of the filters needed (what I wanted done) and gave me a quote, said he'd call me later in the day to schedule a time to come in to do the work, never heard back from him. 2nd flag I let the office person (Nicole) know I hadn't heard from Derek and she scheduled them to come in 5/28 to do install the vent and insert the proper filters that were "ordered" and offered me Blue Club Membership which included annual inspections of my system for the AC and heating ? 2 visits for the year, Water heater inspection, Overall inspection of all safety valves and shut offs, test and record water pressure, Visual inspection of water and waste piping, Faucets are checked above and below the sinks, Each toilet is dye inspected, Provide a 1? pleated furnace filter in the Fall & Spring and said that was a free of charge $265.00 value. (They didn't do any of that) They came in 5/28 as scheduled to create an extra vent and install the filters (the original request I made). Their "ordered" filters didn't fit, so they said they had to order the right size, and said they would do that right away. We scheduled them to come in June 10th with the correct filters. The two new guys that installed the vent were polite and seemed to do a good job (not their fault about the filters). Papalia didn't show up for our scheduled appointment to install the filters June 10th & didn't call to let me know either way. I contacted the office person to let her know of the no show. They were in to measure for the filters 3 times and by the end of June and I still hadn't received the filters, so the heater/ac unit had been running for a good month without filters, which I let them know. After my emails and calls, still nothing by July. By the end of August I received an email from the VP of Operations and Sales, he apologized and said the office person (Nicole) left so I'd be hearing from someone else. He said they would take care of it right away. By (September) I still hadn't heard from them. They offered me insurance for free because of everything and finally came 9/14 to install the filters.

Provider was easy to schedules, showed up promptly and did an excellent job. Papalia plumbing is rather expensive but in general they do provide an extremely good service.

It was ok. I was taken aback for the price of parts.

I was reaching out to local plumbing companies to get my new gas cooktop connected to the house main gas line. Out of 8 different plumbing companies in the area that I have contacted, Papalia Plumbing was the ONLY one that told me they will charge me $40 fee to come out to just look at what I need to get done and give me a quote. For me, the point of meeting a contractor to get a quote is NOT to find who gives the lowest price - in fact I never go with a lowest bid. The point is to meet a contractor, see how professional and knowledgeable they are, talk to them about how they will get the job done, how long it will take, and of course how much it will cost, with the price being only one of the factors. It is impossible to do this assessment on the phone with someone who is scheduling appointments and not the actual technician doing the job. Charging potential customers for meeting in person and providing a quote is basically forcing the customer to go into the project blindly, or loose the fee. This is just bad practice and I am sure it pushes a lot of potential customers away. We could've done this work together as well as a few other projects we have down the line (we just switched from oil to gas) but I will be looking elsewhere if I need to pay $40 every time I'd like to discuss the project and get a quote.

.I had a plumber come in and he was very nice. He was not able to fix the leaks, but he did try really hard. The plumber who came out to do the job was friendly, helpful, professional and punctual.

.When I got the estimate for the job, but when they did the job the price was much more. They did not have a good attitude. One of the employees had no idea what to do and started asking me what needed to do. I tried to tell him what I thought needed to be done, but when another employee came to my house he was belligerent and started to undo the work which was done. I felt that since the guy was very upset he decided to double the price. After all the work was done, it looked to have been done well. I chose the company because of their location.

The work was excellent and he got it done it done very quickly. He was very accommodating to my very complicated scheduling. The pricing was superb and I've used him since and have referred him to others.

I purchased the big deal and it went fine. There was some work that was needed to be done that they couldn't do so they referred me to someone else and I had them come in and complete the work.

They quoted up front and told me what I needed. They got the job done and it's amazing. They were very professional.

Showed up to the appt on time. I showed him around. He took down his notes and told me I would get a quote by email within 2 days. 2 weeks later I emailed the office looking for the quote, they said their "quote system is down" and they will get back to me the next day. A week later, I emailed again and this time was just ignored.

The service for the big deal from Papalia Plumbing and Heating Inc was good. I think they did a good job. I think there was another 25 dollars charge apart from the big deal. I think they wanted to charge me a lot more than that but I talked to them. I have used them for another project already.

It was just great. They were really good. I think he knew what the problem was and showed up and he had a hot water heater with him so it was lucky. It took like an hour. They're exactly what you would want. They are pricey but you expect that with the service that they give. They're the only ones I'll call.
