I would recommend Papalia to anyone. They are knowledgeable and want to keep the customer happy. I misunderstood part of the project. Even though it was my own misunderstanding (Kimber had clearly stated it; I just didn't picture it correctly), they came back and changed everything -- everything! -- at no charge. Amazing. And since I mentioned that I'd been told previously by a different plumber that a super-slow sink "couldn't be fixed," Kimber looked at that and fixed it on the spot too!

He was in my home from 10am - 7pm but had to leave twice to get supplies from his warehouse. He originally told me he would be done with everything by 4pm, but when he wasn't able to finish he asked me to leave my door open while I took my daughter to an appt. so he could get back in. He quoted $350 and then added another $600 to that. He said he had to include things that he didn't include in his original quote. When I complained, he said "well, I didn't charge you for the warehouse trips, and I didn't charge you for this or that" I felt so ripped off. There was a minor repair on my bathtub and that took him 2 seconds to fix and he charge me $350 to fix!

It went great! I *loved* working with Dawn in their office. She's quick to respond via email. I don't think we ever actually spoke, was able to get everything done electronically. Dustin came out to do the service call and he was within the window of time Dawn quoted. He was easy to chat with, quick, and very good at answering my questions. I thought he was fab.

I highly recommend Papalia. They promptly came on the same day. They were professional with a camera and snakes. The tree roots were so tenacious that it required a revisit after 2 weeks - same day I called, at no additional cost. Mike, the operations manager, was very concerned and did the right thing to make me a satisfied customer. He is a kind man in an ethical company who at any odds will get the job done!

Flawless. Travis from Papalia showed up on time was professional and courteous. These guys showed up on a Saturday and repaired the job about a day before any of their competition even return my phone calls. This was my first review on Angie's list because it is so well deserved.

The 2 faucets were replaced by a single handle control which is not only safer and up to code but looks much better. The drain leak was repaired; we don't have to empty buckets any more, and the furnace passed its inspection, so we can face the winter with more assurance. Mike A. did all of the work, and as usual we are more than happy with the upgrades he has given us. We always call Papalia for our plumbing problems. There is always someone to answer the phone, set up an appointment time, a very qualified, polite, plumber comes on time, every time, and has always solved whatever issue we have had.

It turned out okay. There was something wrong with the mechanism in the toilet and then they said it cost close to $300 to fix it. I think they do good work and I have used them before, then I had to remember that they are expensive. They also did a small thing in the faucet in the garage that is in the invoice and separate. I would not use them again.

I first noticed the leak on a Friday morning. I called three plumbers before Papalia and nobody could come out that day except Papalia. Rob arrived ahead of schedule but mis-identified the cause of the leak as being the dishwasher. I don't fault him for this because it seemed logical based on the location of the water puddle. Also there was water under the dishwasher. He did look under the kitchen and bathroom sinks for leaks just to be sure, but didn't find anything. The inside of the bathroom vanity did show signs of mold and the adjacent closet had water damage visible. But being in a small condo, the dishwasher was on the other side of this closet so it still could have been the cause. He turned off the water to the dishwasher and said the water under would dry up. Hours later water was still leaking. I called the office and Rob had already gone home but they gave him a call. He felt very confident it was the dishwasher and that the water still leaking was standing water settling into the lowest spot. Water continued leaking through the night and I was monitoring the situation. As I cleaned up water under the dishwasher it would fill back in (something Rob didn’t try), so I knew the leak was somewhere else. Saturday morning I awoke to a big puddle in the same spot, and panic set in. I called them back before 8AM, got a live person, and they made me the first call. Mike arrived within the estimated time and had a helper with him. I explained the situation and he decided to check behind the bathroom sink first. He had to cut into the wall unfortunately. He didn’t spot a leak here. He next tried the kitchen sink which is on the other side of the wall. No leak there but he could definitely see water in that area. Next he tried behind the toilet and found the leak. A corroded pipe was spraying out water. He was there almost 5 hours and fixed the leak. He was very professional. He also made recommendations on calling a cleanup service to dry up the area. However I feel the itemized charges were not fully explained and that the price is likely significantly higher than other plumbers would have charged for the same job (but I did not have the luxury of shopping around). Overall I’m very pleased with the response time, professionalism, and quality of the work, but not the price. Also they don’t have any type of payment plans or installment options available. They won’t accept partial payment up front and bill, which makes high price jobs like this very difficult for the average person. I had to enlist a family member to pay the bill as I did not have that much available at time of service.

All that contributed to the install were professional and communicative. Price was also reasonable.

I placed the call on Monday and scheduled them for Thursday afternoon, and took off work to be home during the "1-5pm" window I was given. At 11am they called me to ask if we could change days, as the plumber had "a few more complicated calls to do" before he got to me. I explained that I had taken off of work, and actually had 3 foundation contractors currently in my house, and they were scheduled to come back the next day pending the plumber's findings. So no, I could not reschedule. At 4pm I received a call saying the plumber was on his way. I asked the ETA, and was told "30-40 minutes." An hour and a half later, I attempted to call to see if the plumber was stuck in traffic, and if he was still even coming, as I had heard nothing, but it was after hours, so I reached their answering service. I requested a call back from their "after hours, on call plumber" just to see if *they* could tell me the whereabouts of the original plumber. It was now almost 6pm, and I finally received a call back from the woman in the scheduling department that I talked to earlier in the day (who was contacted through the on-call plumber), and she expressed surprise that he had not yet arrived. She called him, and relayed to us that he was "only 15 minutes away," but by that point I was not willing to wait any longer and cancelled the visit. 5 minutes later the scheduled plumber himself called to try to talk us into having him come anyway, as he was "stuck in traffic." He sounded inconvenienced about having the call cancelled. I wanted to explain to him that had he simply called to touch base initially and tell us he was running late, anywhere in that 4pm to 6pm window, that we would have gone ahead with the service. Traffic happens, I understand that. But in the modern age of cell phones and the constant ability to communicate, there is no excuse. Clearly we were not his priority until we attempted to cancel his visit. Today I am looking for a new plumbing company. This may be a case of "one bad apple", or one "off day", but I'm not willing to take that chance again with Papalia.

Water heater went off w/o a hitch. Plumber explained that since joint is in brass pipe, fixing one joint could break the next one. Appreciate d the honesty.

They did a great job; in and out in no time, left the area clean, called to let us know they were on the way. The plumber was knowledgeable and professional. I didn't have to wait weeks for an appointment. We already hired them for another job later this month.

Bad. First the employee told me that it was better if he checked with a video camera if it was not something else than a leak... I went upstairs telling him that he had to call me when he was doing the camera check... he didn't - (there was not recording or proof of execution nor a certificate...) 10 minutes later - the leak was fixed, the joint replaced and the price was USD950... When I told him I was not going to pay this price for a joint, he tried to take off 300 bucks and then finally (when I said my amex will get me a refund) he took off the 550 of video...

Great! Scott was on time, personable, curious, and spent time explaining everything to me. The cost of the repair was minimal. The $50 service call is appropriate in my opinion. I don't mind paying a small amount for someone to come out and do several estimates. He did a mini-plumbing inspection during that period, and since this house is new to us, we appreciated it. I signed up for the Gold Plan; more later on how that goes. I can guess that they may be more expensive than other providers but I felt totally confident in his capacity and the infrastructure of the organization, and I am willing to pay more for peace of mind.

On time, friendly, thorough explanation and estimate before work performed. However, extraordinarily expensive!!!

They found the leak and did maintenance on the unit as well.

Great! As always with Papalia. I called them mid-afternoon when I noticed the leak, wasn't sure if it was in the wall or from the exposed pipe. They were at my house in a little over an hour and fixed the leak in a half hour or so. They are always courteous and respectful of my house, they do a great job and they clean up everything.

The plumbers were on time and polite, but charged me 500 dollars to try to figure out where the leak was coming from, 57 for caulk around the faucet- and 24 hours later- the shower was still leaking. Save your money and look elsewhere.

Their technician, Dan, arrived on time and did an inspection. He was quite knowledgeable about how the system worked. He determined that the coolant level was low. He refilled the coolant and put in a dye to detect leaks. He also tightened some couplings that were not properly tightened. Two weeks later he came back and checked for leaks (none were found).

Generally excellent service, on time, mindful of cleanliness. They do all signing on a tab now and send receipts electronically. No more paperwork.

Very happy with professionalism, communication, and quality of work. Will call them again if need plumbing work. It was a tricky problem and they dug into it.

My experience wasn't so great. They were pretty expensive. They did a bunch of things that included trying out new equipment. They even inserted a camera into the pipe. We didn't go with their service but it cost us a couple of hundred dollars.They were here when they said they would come. They did what they said they would do but it wasn't for the best. They said they could repair the sewer line and they quoted us $20,000. We went with another company and they charged us half the price.
