Movers were on time and quick. They were EXTREMELY helpful and even helpd me move some additional boxes that were not going on the truck. I would definately recommend this company and use them again!

Came and did an onsite estimate which proved accurate. Was prompt and very professional. This was a big move and took a full day for the actual move to a third floor condo. The movers were very efficient and careful in dealing with a difficult stairway and entrance. I don't think we could have had a better moving experience and we can unhesitatingly recommend Rare Movers very highly.

They were completely professional at all times. tireless, and didn't once roll their eyes when we changed our minds continually about where things went! I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

Rare Movers is the best! The movers were punctual and professional. They offered help and were patient as I packed around them. I was not organized and they helped me get there. I will use them again when I move out of state. They are trustworthy guys!

This was the second time I used Rare Moving and Trucking. The first time they moved me into my condo. This time they moved furniture I was holding into my sons new home. He was impressed at how careful they were. They also moved my daughter and son in law and my son and daughter in law and will be moving them again this month!,

I requested quotes from a few moving companies and their was by far the cheapest. In fact they quoted me a price of $900 which was almost twice as cheap as everyone else. Now I took this estimate with the grain of salt since in the end the only thing that matters is their hourly rate which was also the cheapest around. In the end their estimate was off by $400 and that is with $100 coupon from Angie's list. But in the end even with that their final price was far cheaper then other quotes that i got from other movers so I am not going to hold it against them. Maybe it will be a bigger issue for someone else. A few days before the move someone from the company called me to confirm the appointment so I knew that everything is according to plan. In any case 3 guys showed up on time, moved all my things in about 8 hours in 1 trip. I really don't have much to say here. Everything was done very professionally. They packed everything correctly, didn't break anything, disassembled and assembled furniture. The final bill was clear and they explained all the surcharges and fees. Overall a very good experience and I would recommend them and would use again.

After talking with several movers, we decided to go with Rare because we felt like they really did care about our particular needs, and their ability to manage the stress of a move. We made the right choice! Thanks to Kaumul and his team, what could have been a complete nightmare was managed efficiently and effectively, and with total professionalism. They are one in a million, and definately the movers you want, as this very long story will attest to. Because of the size of our move, it was planned for two days. Kaumul and his team showed up on time on day one, stepped into our elevator, and the elevator dropped 2 feet. We are on the 4th floor, and the elevator had broken on the first day of our move. This is not a good thing! Kaumul and team must now carry everything down three flights of stairs. Now, other movers may have gotten upset or refused to do it., but not Rare. Kaumul came to us with a smile on his face and said not to worry they could handle it, immediately taking the burden of the situation off of our shoulders and on to his. He quickly phoned for additional resources. We proceeded with packing hoping that the elevator would be fixed before it was time to load the vans, but it was not to be. Now, mind you, this is the middle of a very hot summer in Boston. It came time to start loading the vans, and he and his team ran up and down those three flights countless times without complaint. He even built a skiff to move the large, heavy safe down the stairs! We told him not to try to move the piano because of the tight turns in the stairwells, but he was prepared to do it if we wanted him to. Instead, we arranged to have him move it after the elevator was fixed. Kaumul and his team stayed very late on day 1 to ensure they would have enough time on day 2. Between the home and the business, we filled two of Kaumul's vans. It took the team most of Day 2 just to finish packing and loading. It was supper time before we were ready to head to our new home. Suffice it to say, Kaumul had a long night ahead of him. Again, his team stuck with it until they were done, which was well after midnight! But there is more.... Unbeknownst to us, two of Kaumul's workers had quit after day 1. They refused to come back and run the stairs again on day 2. But Kaumul said nothing to us. He called in his friends to pick up the slack on day 2, without burdening us with the situation. We only found out after they were done and we had written the check! Now that's going above and beyond!!! The elevator was finally fixed just a few weeks ago, and Kaumul delivered the piano (and a few other things we decided to keep) as promised. He proactively checked in with us on a regular basis to see if the elevator had been fixed during the interim, which was much appreciated. We can't say enough good things about Rare Moving, Kaumul and his team. They are truely the movers you want, and will indeed make it the least stressful move you'll ever have!!

My contact with Rare Movers was professional (from the very start) and I felt as though she was well taking care of.The movers confirmed the move 2 days prior and arrived on time. There were no extra or odd costs and all in all, I (and my mom) were happy with the service and would recommend to others.

We contracted RARE Moving to move my daugters' bedroom furtniture, clothes, and miscellaneous items from our home in the suburbs to a city apartment that she will be living in for the year while she attending college. This is the first year that she is living off-campus. Larry and Royce were at our house on time. There were friendly, upbeat, courteous, strong, efficient and funny. They put me and my family at ease. I also want to say that initially I spoke with Velvet on the phone and she was very professional and responsive. When we got to Boston Larry and Royce got down to business and though there were several flights of stairs and it was a warm day they moved the boxes quickly and efficiently. The got the job done quicker than the quote time. I like them and doing business with the company.

Working with RARE Moving and Trucking was a pleasure. Every employee was courteous, pleasant and hardworking. Especially when they got to Austin, where they were unloading in the BRUTAL summer heat, they worked carefully and quickly, focusing on the job at hand. I tried to give them lunch, offered to let them shower before they got on the road to Portland, OR, where they were heading with the remainder of their load, but everything except cold water was politely refused. They "didn't have time" to stop moving. At the same time, they were patient and careful with all my things. There was one item damaged in the move. It was really not particularly foreseeable that the way a gaming table with a removable insert was packed could result in some damage to the top of the table. The supervisor recognized and accepted that the table had been damaged and told me to call Kamaul and he would send me a check. I promptly took the table to a refinisher and received the estimate of $200 to repair the table. I called Kamaul Reid and asked what documentation he would need from me. He required none. He immediately mailed me a check for $200, the table was repaired perfectly and that was that. This is an impressive company that has been in business in Boston for 19 years (I am told). From the initial, in-person bid, when Kamaul arrived at my apartment in Providence on the dot of 10:00 AM, as agreed, to the settlement of the minor damage to my table, I have nothing but good things to say about RARE Moving.

The movers arrived on time and were polite, friendly, and professional. The move went they did quickly and without any damage and took an hour less than they estimated.

They offered us an incredible rate, they were very punctual, they were polite and professional, and the move went smoothly. We were very happy with them. Because we had a special double coupon, it was about 50% off. They got the move done in good time and they were careful not to leave trash around. There were a couple of mishaps but that happens with every move.

Overall, it was great. They were wonderful!

Rare Movers are exactly that; RARE. These guys were in a word, amazing. Hiring movers always seemed like something rich people did, but Rare Movers was completely affordable and possibly prevented me from having a heart attack from what was poised to be an overwhelming project had we done this alone. Kamaul and Carlos were on time, efficient, thoughtful and hilarious! Moving was actually fun! I have recommended Rare Movers to everyone I know. I was nervous about making the move easy for them because I have never had movers, so I called Kamaul numerous times -- he was kind and patient with me each time. I was probably annoying with my daily calls leading up to the move but if Kamaul thought so, he didn't let it show. These guys are the best humans in Boston! Hire them or you'll wish you had.

As a member of Angie's List (without leaving reviews), I had to log on and write a review on such a wonderful company. I was nervous moving from a tiny north end studio (up a VERY narrow flight of steps) to large place outside of Boston. From day 1, Kamaul and his team were a class act, making sure that they promptly answered whatever questions I had and alleviated any of my (ridiculous) concerns. On the day of the move, everything went off without a hitch, from rearranging the furniture multiple times to unpacking items for me, except for one thing - the base of my TV broke off. Well, to show you the integrity of this company, Kamaul ordered me a new TV stand and offered to lend me a TV until the new base came. Fast forward to a week later when we found out the base was not being shipped on time...Kamaul went out and bought me a brand new TV! I could go on and on about this company, from how inexpensive my move was to the quality customer service I received. RARE Moving & Trucking Inc. is exactly that - a RARE gem among moving companies in the Boston area.

Kamaul and his team are, hands down, the best movers we have ever had and we would recommend them to anyone. They could not have done a better job. In selecting a moving company, we were extremely concerned about breakage and other loss based on a previous cross-country move with a well known national moving company. We were also concerned with getting a quote but then ending up with a much higher bill...all too common with moves of this nature. We spoke with Kamaul at length and also read all of the reviews posted on Angie's List. From the beginning, we could tell that his company was very different from others. Having completed our move, we are thrilled with our decision to use RARE for a couple of key reasons: (1) Integrity. Kamaul is an honest and genuine person. We never once felt like we were dealing with a salesperson or marketer. He stands behind his words and was able to put us at ease regarding our move. He has a ton of experience and has an incredible work ethic. (2) Professionalism. The team is highly professional. They immediately introduced themselves upon arrival and were always extremely courteous, neat and efficient. They outlined what they would be doing and had a specific plan of action from the minute they arrived to the the minute the unloaded the last item from the truck on the other end. They were pleasant throughout the entire process, despite the heat and the very long days or hard work. (3) Thoughtfulness. Kamaul and his team understand that moves can be very stressful for families and do everything they can to eliminate that stress. Not something you probably think about with a moving company, but something that stands out with RARE. Kamaul has been doing this for a long time - and it shows. He packed our 2 year old's room last at our old home and set it up first at our new home. The team clearly labeled the bedding and toy boxes to make it very easy to get him settled. Having the familiarity of his crib, toys and furniture in our new house was really helpful on moving day! (4) High Caliber of Work Performed. The team is diligent and meticulous. Boxes were properly labeled (making unpacking much easier), fragile items were wrapped impeccably. Not one single item was broken or scratched - out of nearly 100 boxes. Not one single item was missing. The team used extra care both removing items from our old home and bringing them into the new home. Moreover, they do not cut corners. Kamaul, Will and Royce spent a full day packing our home, and another almost full day packing up the truck before heading to Boston. (5) Competitive Pricing. RARE offered competitive pricing to other cross-country movers. Perhaps not the least expensive option, but not the most expensive either (we did a lot of research). We were ultimately happy to pay a small premium for the peace of mind that comes with working such an established, highly rated operation. He gave us a quote and that's what we ended up paying - very civilized and transparent! RARE Moving & Trucking is a company that truly stands out above other moving companies. Kamaul takes great pride in the business he has built and in the team he has assembled, and we were entirely satisfied with the work they completed for us.

I cannot say enough positive things about this company, the owner and the movers! We have never had an experience like this with movers. I called and spoke to Kamaul over the phone on Saturday morning to see if we could possibly get moved that day. He checked and said we could, and the movers would arrive around 1pm. Around 12:30 Will and Will showed up. They were incredible -- moving items quickly but carefully, and being friendly yet professional the whole time. It turned out they were on the last job before their July 4th holiday when they learned of our move, yet never once were they upset that we had delayed the start of their holiday. Once the truck was loaded we headed to Cambridge to pick up a couch from a thrift store, and then on to my daughter's new apartment house. Despite a narrow door opening and three flights of stairs, everything got moved in quickly and gently put where we wanted. They were two of the nicest guys, and so good at getting heavy things (the couch weighed a ton!) moved carefully. When we finished and were paying our bill, we used a $100 coupon without any questions. One question arose when the travel time to and from their warehouse was added in, which they estimated at 1 1/2 hours but that seemd high to me. I called on Tuesday morning after the long holiday weekend and asked Kamaul about this, and he couldn't have been nicer. He checked the travel time on Mapquest and said it should have been 1 hour, and issued us a credit on our charge card for the the difference. No hassles, and he couldn't have been nicer! I STRONGLY recommend these movers to anyone in the Boston area. They were a joy to work with and were a pleasant change of pace from every other experience we've had with movers in the past. And, though I assume all of their crews are wonderful, ask for Will and Will -- they were the best!!

They come right on time and they worked smoothly. They seemed to be a little sloppy sometimes in moving the big items, but overall they didn't damage anything. I would use them again. Note: They are actually out of Braintree, not Boston. So if you are having a move in Boston, they will charge the time to drive from Braintree. This added an hour to the total time!

I never had a better moving experience (from Massachusetts to Tennessee). Mr. Kamaul Reed (owner) and associates were punctual, efficient, no-nonsense (but collegial). I will not use another company for moving or storage. I used 5 moving companies since 2005.

The crew was excellent. I was nervous about the piano and our refinished floor but they put down floor covering and nothing was scratched.

I spoke with Kamaul over the phone for an estimate for our move and explained we would need storage, he said this was no problem and provided the written quote via email. The movers came as promised and got right to work and were very friendly and enjoyed their work. Rare has an excellent and efficient 3-man system where one supervisor tags and catalogs, one moves the stuff from the apartment to the elevator (in our case) and another moves onto the truck and organizes. The estimate was accurate and they were done and out at the scheduled time. Return trip went the same and we received a call that they were stopping by with our stuff, it all got moved and they asked which rooms to put it in. Kamaul and co. even moved a monster of a tub for us at our new house. We have used local chain movers and national movers to move things to and from Texas, but Rare have definitely been the most efficient and professional we have dealt with. Would definitely recommend.

We moved approximately 1 mile from a condo into a new house. We selected Rare moving because we had purchased an Angie's List big deal and saw the positive reviews. They were scheduled to arrive between 8 - 8:30 am and nobody showed up until after 9 - we were charged for travel time in excess of 1.5 hours - when I questioned this I was told they had trouble with the truck so it took longer than expected to get to our condo - I am unclear why we have to pay $200 an hour for that time but did not want to start the day fighting. I expected to be charged maybe 30-60 minutes of travel time but 1.5 hours seemed excessive to me (we live 10 miles from their office). The crew was varied in terms of speed and strength, some struggled to move and one of the movers commented repeatedly he needed to get into shape before the busy season - yeah, I guess so. My real concerns with the team though were the following: *It was raining on and off throughout the move and in our new house they made no attempt to protect our off white carpet stair runner and in fact made a mess out of it. I had to rent a steam cleaner the next day to undo the damage. We had a similar issue at the home we moved out of and it was simply sloppy. * They broke one of the stone front steps in front of our house and claimed it was normal wear and tear. They would not even discuss it further. The previous owner moved in and out without breaking the stone. We have since also had the stairs repaired at our own cost because it was dangerous and the mason who repaired the step indicated it was not normal wear and tear. the lead of the team said he would write down the damage on the slip and someone would reach out to us, but they never did. Those repairs cost us $125. * The movers lost pegs that hold up shelves and random little things like that. Nothing major (aside from the front step) broke in the move - which was GREAT - but we went to go assemble bookshelves and having the pieces missing is really, really annoying. This happened with other items as well, including the guest bed which had a frame assembled incorrectly. They also did not lay down the carpet pads under our rugs - they offered to go back and lay them down after the fact and charge us for the time but having them move all the furniture off the rugs in order to lay the pads seemed expensive . * Our move was more expensive than the quote which was in large part because of the extra travel time but was still over the quote All in all, not the worst move by any means but the more I think about the muddy shoes on my stairs the more unprofessional it is. Also the sloppy reassembly on the unloading side with the rug pads and missing parts was frustrating in addition to the broken step.

Kamaul and his crew, Carlos and Will, are the best movers I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with and they came on Memorial Day at NO extra charge. They moved at high-speed the entire time they were here. I live on the top floor of a 3-story walk-up condo but it was as if they had wings, they were so quick at getting up and down the stairs. The refrigerator was the trickiest part of the move but they expertly removed doors to get it through the narrow doorway. I got the impression there was nothing they didn't have previous experience with. For pet-owners, I should mention how good they were with my dog (after greeting them I tucked her away inside a back room). I had used a coupon for a Big Deal promotion Kamaul ran and I actually had a credit at the end of the move, which I plan to use when they move me back into my new kitchen. I have lived in 4 states, moved 8 times, and this is by far the best experience I've ever had with a moving company. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Everything was handled very efficiently and went without a major hitch. My partner was very particular about how certain boxes were handled and they were all very accomodating. I asked for help with a little last minute packing and they were happy to do it. Everything went on schedule and I was more than satisfied. We were thrilled to have the minimal stress, personalized move that you just cannot get from a nationwide trucking firm.
