Overall, I cannot say enough good things about the company as a whole. I would wholeheartedly recommend them for any move!

This professional team was on time, the move went exactly as planned, and finished when they said it would. Even sent an extra man, they wrapped every piece of furniture. They were outstanding.

We had an large apartment worth of furniture, boxes, and household items in storage in Kingston which needed to be delivered not only to our new house in Plymouth, but some of the items were then going to a relative's house in Milton. Rare's crew was prompt, very polite, and incredibly professional. They asked a lot of questions up front about where things were going so it enabled them to be more efficient loading the truck. They also did a quick walkthrough of the house to get a sense of what where things went in the house. Really really organized and, most importantly, not a scratch anywhere in the new house and nothing broken!. It is obvious the crew was not just hired muscle; they were pros. The quote was for $665 and was only over (by $45) because we threw them the curveball (after the quote) of having to stop in Milton to unload some of the furniture. Rare gave us the best estimate and I cannot imagine anybody doing a better job.I should also note that they moved us from Roslindale to the storage facility in Kingston last September and we had a similar experience. Shame om me for not giving them a great review then, too. It is a joy to work with Rare, and I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

I contacted them after I saw a recommendation on Angies List and decided to try Rare Moving over Gentle Giant and Titan Crane (who I've used in the past). These guys were on time, completely professional, careful with my belongings, yet did not waste a minute. Move was completed in less time and for less money than expected, yet not a scratch, ding or dent on anything.

The folks from Rare were great - they showed up 5 minutes early, were great in deailng with two toddlers running around while they were trying to move, and packed and moved our belongings with no hiccups. Really friendly, very professional, and a thorough and well-done job.

The crew arrived on time and called in advance to let me know they were arriving (since they only gave me a window time before). They were very nice all the time and worked non stop all day (14 hours) to finish the job. There was a confusion about packing my kitchen items: the person I spoke on the phone did not tell the crew that I requested the packing and they did not bring the material for it. One of the guys went to Home Depot and bought the material needed to do the job without complaint.One guy was in change of the packing and the other 3 wrapped the furniture and moved it to the truck. After arriving at the new place they unloaded the truck and helped me place everything in the proper location. They did not unpack the kitchen items since I did not request it. I had furinute in my garage that was still wrapped. They helped me unwrap everything and moved to the proper location. They also moved furniture from my basement to the second floor. The entire job took 14 hours, they arrived at 8:30 am and left ad 11 pm.

Rare Moving and Trucking was wonderful, professional, the lowest responsible bidder, and very accommodating to last-minute changes in scope. The first day consisted of packing most of the items, followed by the loading of the truck on the 2nd day. The closing of the new home was delayed a day, and Rare adroitly adapted to the schedule change and showed up with the truck on time on moving day!

First, it was a bit difficult to find a moving company that was willing to take on a small 20-minute job. Most wanted payment for a minimum of 2 hours of work. RARE Moving responded very quickly to my call on a Saturday and set up an appointment for Monday. The two movers arrived promptly and moved the treadmill and table. In the process (the treadmill is very big and heavy), they noticeably scratched the paint in the stairwell up to the 2nd floor. What was really impressive was one of the employee's (Larry) willingness to accept responsibility and swing into action. He helped me look in the basement for a can of paint of the right color (didn't have it). He then went to Home Depot, got a color wheel, figured out the right color. And the next day he returned to repair the wall - and did a great job. He even painted some minor scratches that were already there. I was very impressed!

These movers were very professional and took care to wrap things very well so there would not be any damage. I had them move a grand piano and I was very concerned about it bc it was going down stairs to move it. They did a wonderful job with the piano moving it from the 2nd floor of the apartment into my new home. Unfortunately some damage was done to my floors bc I piece of furniture damaged my new hardwood floors. When I told the moving company about this and asked them for compensation they were honorable and took care of this within a very timely manner.

Beyond excellent. Their 3 movers were unbelievable. They disassembled and wrapped the grand piano, hand carried it down 2 flights of stairs, then reassembled it in less than 30 minutes. Carried two huge console TVs, weighing 150 pounds each and 20 heavy boxes down those same narrow stairs...gently moving furniture to gain clearance. Not a scratch or ding anywhere. Next they carried a 550 pound commercial color laser copier down another flight of stairs, then a 400 pound metal and glass graphic arts machine. Again, not a scratch or ding anywhere. They did all this work in a little over one hour! They were polite, professional and incredibly efficient. I have been moving my own furniture and equipment for 40 years until a bad leg ended my moving days. I've never seen work done so quickly without any drama or the need to ponder over technique. They just came, did the work, thanked us for using them and left the house in perfect condition. I give this company my absolute highest recommendation.

Three movers picked up my furniture from my vaults and delivered it to my house. It was done in a professional and timely manner. The movers were courteous and were very careful with my things. I will be moving again shortly and will use them again. Very pleasant to work with.

The guys were great. Kamaul was very responsive in getting us a quote, which ended up being higher than the actual cost since we moved most of the boxes ourselves. His team of 4 showed up at 9am, a bit later than we had been told (8am), but they made up the difference in the move. They were very professional and took great care to make sure everything was wrapped and packed appropriately. Spirits were high despite the rain! The guys finished unpacking everything and put everything exactly where we wanted. Would definitely recommend.

Kamaul and his team from RARE Movers did a fantastic job relocating my family from New Hampshire to Southern California. The guys were caring, accommodating and meticulous. The whole process... from packing all our belongings in our very large house (5300 sf)... then driving across the country... and finally unpacking into two locations - our apartment and a storage facility - took them less than five days! We were extremely impressed with RARE Movers, and, given the opportunity, we would absolutely use them again. Lessons Learned: We definitely could have pre-packed our own dishes ourselves ahead of time, and it would have saved all of us quite a few hours. We certainly could have done some additional "cleansing" because we ended up moving more items than we really needed. We are now dumping lots of stuff as we sift through our belongings.

Five strong movers arrived on time in the morning and spent several hours packing up my apartment. They then moved the stuff down four flights of stairs and into their truck to put it into storage for three months. A few of the items were delivered immediately to a different city and address, but most went into storage. Two weeks later, we realized they had packed up a cable box which was not mine. We called and Kamael Reid, the owner of the company, went into the storage facility and found and returned the cable box, in spite of the fact that I had told him I would not need to access any of my stuff until it was delivered to my new apartment. The move is not yet completed but I expect the delivery to go as smoothly as the packing and storing went. The men were friendly, strong, careful and professional.We strongly recommend this company which offers very competitive rates.

Excellent! Kamaul Reid, the president, was on site and helped with the move. The crew was highly skilled and moved quickly but carefully. Very little chatter, no vulgarity, no damage to furniture or personalty. And finally, this is our second move with Rare, and we would recommend them to others.

We understood that the movers would have hand trucks but they did not. They also arrived expecting to move only 4 times they were very good, easy to communicate with and careful of our furniture and of the new apartment ( door frames, etc).

They did a great job, the crew of 3 arrived promptly. Even though it was raining all went smoothy. The workers got wet and they were extremely careful, very friendly and courteous.

Arrived early, got right to it, very quick, thoroughly protected all fragile items, very careful and proficient, overall quick and very friendly.

Excellent! Movers arrived within expected time frame, even though they had to deal with blocked roads in the North End. Two workers, very professional, focused and considerate. Moved everything every quickly. Quote was $480.00 ($380.00 with Angie's list coupon). Actual move was only $320 ($220 with coupon). Would definately use again and recommend to all my friends/family/coworkers. This is my third time using a mover in Boston and they are by far the very, very best.

Overall, the move went well. Each of the movers were courteous, professional and responsible. Each of the movers were careful about moving from a nicely furnished and carpeted place to a newly painted place with expensive hardwood floor.

Rare moving showed up right on time at 8 am. They wasted no time in moving out our boxes from our 5th floor apartment in Weymouth to their truck. We had quite a lot of stuff, mostly boxed and lots of furniture but these guys moved quickly. They took good care in wrapping furniture carefully in blankets and asking if certain things needed to be moved (we moved some actually rare things on our own) It took them about 3.5 hrs to get everything out and then they were at our new place by 12.30. The unloading went fast. They asked where to put boxes and set up furniture, and were courteous and efficient. They were done in about 2 hrs, so total time was about 7 hours or so. They asked us to do a walk though to make sure they had set up everything where we wanted it. In all, the move was about an hour more than the quote, but we also had a lot of stuff. We also used a coupon from Rare that saved us $250 in the total move cost, so that was great. I would certainly recommend and use Rare Moving again.
