RARE Moving & Storage

Dealing with the owner of RARE Moving and Trucking, Kamaul Reid, from the first phone call was an amazing and pleasant experience . Kamaul is easy to deal with, as well and kind, accomodating and professional. And that was only the beginning. I called at about 7:30 in the morningto make an inquiry about hiring their services, by the time I got to work at 8:00 Kamaul had already provided me with a written estimate via email. During our initial conversation, I asked if there was any possibility for the upcoming Saturday, which was only days away, and he was able to help me and work me in for that weekend. The day of the moving, Kamaul called in advance of their arrival, as he said he would, told me when they would be at my house and, ultimately, arrived when he said he would. Kamaul arrived with a co-worker, Jerome, who also politely offered a smile and a strong handshake and without hesitation they both began to get things rolling. They worked so efficiently, and I ended up asking for them to take a few more items than I thought orignally I would and, again, accomodated my needs gracefully. Now for a kicker to this story. There was a large living room set that I was not taking and when I asked if he knew of a place that I could call that services those in need and may be able help this furniture to serve a greater purpose, Kamaul mentioned "Rosies Place" .. a wonderful shelter that does tremendous work for those in need. And, he said immediately that he could take the set that day and deliver it to Rosie's Place on Monday. How incredible... These two men worked quickly, efficiently and with such wonderful attitudes. I could not say enough about RARE Moving and Trucking or Kamaul and Jerome. I would not hesitate for one moment to recommend this business. As a matter of fact, I have told so many people already about their service as did my girlfriend who was at the house to help me that day. Great experience ! At last moment, when truck was leaving, I remembered 2 bookcase . Movers were gracious and efficient to moving.

They arrived about an hour earlier than scheduled, so I had to quickly prepare for them. They were fast and efficient. My only concern is that I suggested a small because I only had a few things, but they came with a large truck that ended up blocking traffic. Other than that the staff was fast and efficient.

Rare Moving & Trucking were on time. There were two guys that were really good, but there was a third guy I could have done without. I don't know what to say about that. It was good and they were respectful. Nobody broke anything. The workers were very strong. It's unreal, these guys.

The estimate on the weight of the goods was about the same as the other estimates I obtained. However, their cost to move the goods was high. Unlike the other estimates I received, Raremovers added a $2000 fuel charge to the move, which made it expensive. I did not select them to do my move, but used a national van line instead.

We hired Rare Movers to move us from the North Shore down to Cape Cod. We did the packing ourselves, but they moved all our belongings. We needed a little felxibility in our scheduling, and they were very accomodating. The crew arrived promptly and took inventory of evertything we had. They very super efficient and fast. It turned out we needed another small truck to finish the packing, so they sent an additional truck to finish the job. These guys were so good. Careful with everything. If they had a question, they asked. I changed my mind a few times on where things went during the unpacking, and they didnt complain at all. All the guys were very personable and STRONG! I would highly recommend them for moving. Prompt, dedicated, careful, professional, polite. NIce job all around, We were very satisfied.

They were terrific in every aspect of the move. Our estimate was reasonable, and that was the actual cost. The movers were very professional... handling our stuff with even more care than I might. They were polite and very pleasant to deal with. I highly recommend this company for even the most demanding of moves or storage. I always felt we were in the hands of very competant, careful and trustworthy professionals. Nothing went wrong at all, all the goods they packed were in perfect condition on the receiving end. Couldnt be better.

Great excellent couldn"t have been better!

RARE moved us from our 2 bedroom apt. in Franklin to Charlton, MA. They were very timely when initially contacted for an estimate. The estimate came in a bit lower than the actual cost (Est was $700), but we had more furniture / boxes than when quoted that estimate. The 3 men that the company sent did an amazing job wrapping everything up and packing it into their truck. They never stopped working. I would highly recommend this company for anyone moving in the greater MA area.

They arrived on time. They were polite and professional, and worked pretty quickly. They worked with me on the other end to put the furniture exactly where I wanted it. They finished the job well within the recommended time window. It was a great experience and I would definitely hire them again. Two things to note: One, they moved a couple of very heavy pieces without taking the drawers out to make them lighter. The guys were definitely straining on the stairs and it didn't feel totally safe to me. Next time I would start by taking some of the stuff out myself. Two, they charged for travel both ways, which ended up adding quite a bit to the final total. It's reasonable that they would charge for all travel, but I just wasn't expecting it.

The quick summary is that we highly recommend Rare Moving, as they did an outstanding job on a very complex and difficult move. We moved within Massachusetts and needed help with both packing and unpacking as well as the move. Our household includes a very large number of items, many of them quite fragile. We got quotes from four moving companies and ended up picking Rare Moving. We picked Rare because their estimate, while neither the highest nor the lowest, was the most detailed and showed the most appreciation for the complexity of the move. We needed to start the move on Patriot's Day, and Kamaul and his crew showed up right on time in the morning even though it was a holiday. They packed up everything in the house very carefully, and each move team member showed a lot of sensitivity towards how much we care about our personal items. They then moved everything over to the new home, and helped to unpack everything again. That meant of course that we found out right away if there was any damage, and there was none at all! This is top-notch quality for a move with six trucks-worth full, including many fragile glass and porcelain items! Everything ended up in the right room, and they reassembled the furniture very well, better than it had been assembled in the old house! Kamaul and his team leaders organized everything very well, and the company motto "efficient movers who care" turned out to be 100% true. They made the move experience far less stressful and far more successful than it could have been, and we highly recommend them to anyone who wants a world-class moving experience with no damage, no delays, and no problems.

The movers from Rare were incredibly professional in all aspects of the move. They were very efficient/quick in packing up the materials and furniture, but were (more importantly) very careful in moving the items so that damage did not arise as an issue. Their efficiency played a large role in their finishing the job under the estimate. Would definitely use this company again.

Exceptional!!! Turned up early. It is RARE these days to come acroos such professionals. Personal contact, A week, 3 days , plus day back.

The man showed up in a shirt with huge letters with their company’s name. He introduced himself to reception as a moving company to see me. He was very nice and professional, but it did put me in a bad position. I had specifically asked him to sign in with reception as a guest. His estimate was also a little vague, which indicated that it might go a litter higher than what I was willing to pay.

Kamaul was the most responsive of all companies we asked for an estimate, and his price was in-line w/ other movers of the same calibre. He quoted a dedicated move to Austin, where our stuff would not be mixed-in/shuffled w/ stuff from other folks. This allows for less damage, and MUCH better control of timing. Instead of getting a 3-10 day arrival window, we had a 24-hour window of when our stuff would arrive. The movers themselves were top-notch. Always up-beat, never a complaint, and were always focused on their work. Items were packed into the truck methodically. Boxes which they packed (our glass items and art) were paper-wrapped several times over and not a single one of the glasses or art broke. Long story short, everything went well. The moving coordinator was dilligent w/ paperwork, insurance was very very reasonable. Can't say how important it is when you're moving your family 2000 miles to have peace of mind - and they provided it. Would use again!

Awesome Awesome Awesome that is the best I can say about these guys. The three men that showed up to move us were incredibly polite, they wrapped our couch to protect it and well the only thing that can be said about this company is WOW they were great. They were fast, careful, they treated our stuff as if it was their own. I called a dozen or so movers and these guys were priced in the middle and worth every penny. After all the boxes and furniture was in the house they asked if we needed anything moved around to different locations not in a way to add extra time but to make sure we where happy. If and when I need to move I will call them again and recommend them to all my friends and family or even strangers.

It went perfectly! They were very nice, professional and did not mess around. They arrived on time both at my home and my friend's home so there was no waiting around. They even did a little extra as my friend was unavailble the entire time and they completed their job, got his signature and left without any interruptions.

I emailed them with a description of the work and they responded to me very promptly. They gave me a quote by email (with a generous Angie's list discount!) The day they were scheduled to come was going to be snowing, so I emailed and asked if they would reschedule, which was no problem. Two employees arrive on time (within the hour window they had committed to) and they were professional, courteous, and did a great job moving my pieces. I would use this company again for all my moving needs.

Tevis and Larry called to let us know that they were on their way. When they arrived, they assessed the work to be accomplished, and were friendly and efficient. They treated the furniture with care - as if it was their property they were packing. They placed on the furniture in the spaces designated. They ensured that any trash was picked up from the origin and destination points.

My experience with this company was ideal. I called for an estimate to move an upright piano down one flight of stairs (straight staircase) out of a home in Belmont to my home in Cambridge. I had already spoken with two or maybe three other companies and Rare Moving gave the lowest estimate ($350 for mine). It was also the simplest estimate, as others depended on the exact dimensions of the upright, how much space was at either end of the staircase, etc. Because I got the piano off of craigslist, I was at the mercy of a stranger's schedule (and, I was soon to learn, her schedule changed a LOT). I had to change the moving date several times, usually with very little notice. Rare Moving accommodated my changes pleasantly, without hesitation or judgment When the move finally did happen, the three movers were courteous and professional. They showed up a few minutes early, and were efficient but careful when they moved it and set it up. Every bit of work was done with a smile. Overall, a perfect experience. Talk about rare!! I would definitely hire them again.

They wrapped fragile stuff and stored them well. Unfortunately, my car broke down that day. I gave the driver keys and said I would be late. When I got there, they had been and gone. My stuff was unloaded per my instructions, the house was properly locked, the keys in the mailbox. All told, it was so simple a move there is little to say. The way a move SHOULD be!
