RARE Moving & Storage

As noted above, I've used the company on several occasions, and each time, they showed up exactly on time; were very polite, courteous and professional; and did an excellent and efficient job. I will continue to use them and recommend their services in the future.

Everything involved with the move, from initial contact with the company, scheduling the actual move, the crew's arrival at the apartment, packing the truck, and our arrival at the new house, went seamlessly. The crew was professional, polite, and efficient throughout. All of my belongings arrived at the house undamaged and nothing was lost. They arrived at the apartment when they said they would and they got to the new house faster than I did. They unloaded the truck quickly, making sure to ask over and over where I wanted things. The price was a bit more than I would have paid with other companies, even with the $100 discount for being a returning customer, but they made the process so painless it was worth every penny.

They showed up right on time. Went to work right away and in no time had everything on the truck ready to go. I had to have them pack my kitchen items as I ran out of time packing. What an incredible job they did packing all my kitchen stuff up; everything (glasses, plates, silverware, small appliences, down to my junk drawer) was packed with care and efficiency. All my furnishings were carefully wrapped with moving pads (the company I had used 3 years ago did not use moving pads on the furniture) and EVERYTHING arrived is the same condition as it was (and I am very picky as I have a lot of antiques). They were extrememly friendly and actually made what is a stressful day kind of fun. I highly recommend and would definityly use them again if I ever move.

They moved all of my personal home belongings from my apartment to my new home, with a three day storage in between. They did a wonderful job with a high degree of professionalism.

A+!!! I had to have a piano moved at the last minute. Scheduled this on Tuesday for the next day. 3 men did a perfect job- Friendly, helpful, able to trouble-shoot a problem encountered when pulling the piano back together.

I moved from MA to MI, 4 people came to package up everything, they were very organized and careful, wrapping up everything in professional way and made notes clear. They delivered in 3 days as we had scheduled, with everything intact. The placed all items as we instructed. I was very happy with their services.

These guys are *awesome.* We actually had them move us upstate NY last summer, but then the situation changed and we needed them to bring us back to Boston. We have a lot - a lot - of stuff for a couple with no kids (we run a business as well). We have a grand piano, a 500 pound safe, and an 800 pound copper statue that our cousin made (long story). Anyway, these guys were extremely professional the first time, and extremely professional the second time. They showed up right on time, and loaded three 26' vans like it was no problem. The crew is knowledgeable and properly wrapped all furniture, disassembled what needed to be, and always asked if there were any questions. Upon arrival in Boston another three guys (six came to NY) arrived to help unload the trucks. Now, as can happen, a few items were damage moving, some minor chips on furniture, but they immediately took and repaired the furniture at their own expense at it looks excellent. Listen, any moving company could ding something by accident - but not everyone would immediately take responsibility for it and handle the entire repair process end-to-end. No, RARE is not cheapest in town, but that is the price you pay for professionals. Kamal and his crew *will* do an excellent job, and we would use them again in the future - although I hope we never have to because we love our house!

My concern is Velvet in customer service told us the billing time stopped once the truck was unloaded and I signed the paperwork. The driver added an extra hour and said she was wrong, and that he needed to get paid fro his trip back to the warehouse. This increased our cost by 10%. We were very happy with the speed in which all 4 men were moving, but it seemed as though they were going to get done before the estimated time, and when it came time to drive to our new home, they all left before me, but I beat them to our house by 15 minutes. Then they waited for my husband to return with their lunch (he offered because he was appreciative of their hard work) but then they didn't start their 30 minute lunch break until he showed up with food. This added at least 30 minutes to our billed time, so now we are at 15% more than estimated. There was also an accident in the morning on the highway when they were driving to the pickup location (where we were moving from) and were over 1 hour late. I called to find out where they were and was told they were in traffic but would hopefully arrive soon. I was billed for most of that time too.

When you are in a moving bind Kamaul and team should be the first on your list to call. I had a custom made kitchen island built and shipped from a carpenter in Washington State. However, after assurances from the freight company that they would deliver to the 3rd floor of a condo building without an elevator (it weighed about 200 lbs) - that was not the case. I logged into Angie's List and found rave reviews (and a $100 discount coupon) on Rare Movers and decided to give Kamaul a call. He worked with me to find the most cost efficient method of transporting my furniture and was patient as we worked around my not-so-flexible schedule. He was courteous and professional and responded to each and every one of my questions. The delivery was completed the very next day (right on schedule) and went off without a hitch. I couldn't have been more pleased. Without hesitation I will hire Kamaul and team again in the future to handle any of my moving needs. I highly recommend Rare Movers for your future moving needs.

It was fine. I paid more than what the deal was for. We boxed most of our stuff ourselves. We actually requested that they, as part of the service, deliver boxes the week before and we boxed everything up. The only thing that they wrapped was furniture. They put blankets around furniture so that it won't get scratched. I would say 80%, if not more of the packing were done by us. The move was about 10 miles far and they were a total of three guys. The guys were courteous and they did what they were supposed to do. However I was a little surprised by how much we ended up paying, given that we took advantage of this deal that they had. The quality of the service was fine. They showed up early and it actually ended up costing us a little more because of that. The reason for that was we were finishing up boxing certain things and because they showed up at that time, they ended up finishing that boxing, which means that was part of the service. If they arrived on time, I'm sure we would have ended up paying slightly less.

Kamaul and the whole team were prompt, courteous, and careful. No surprises on cost or service. Excellent overall.

Rare was amazing! We had 3 crew members for each part of the job, which spanned 3 days (pack - Friday, move - Saturday, unpack-Sunday). The men on the crew were so pleasant, professional, conscientious and careful with our belongings. They took a bit more time than other movers we've used, but this partially due to the fact that they wrapped every piece of our large furniture in moving blankets, put the mattresses in protective bags, etc. When it came time to unload and unpack they asked us where we wanted everything and were patient and accomodating if we asked for something to be moved to another location in the house after the fact. In addition to the wonderful crew, the customer service leading up to the move was exceptional. The office staff was courteous, prompt with email replies to questions, and they updated us with new estimates each time we modified our initial plan. Rare's prices were also much more reasonable than other movers in the area. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the team at Rare. They made our weekend so much more enjoyable than it otherwise would have been. I would use them again in a second!

This company is great. They came out and did a quote, arrived on time, were very helpful (I was still packing), and were very fast and efficient while still being friendly and seeming to find genuine pleasure working together. And they came in under the estimate (I was in a large and pretty "overstuffed" 2 bedroom, 5.5 room apartment, 2nd floor). I'd say they were a bargain even without the $100 AL discount. I couldn't be more satisfied.

They offered a very competitive price. Responsive. On moving day they did initially not have enough people, but did double the crew to get the job done. Would use them again.

I loved working with this company. The movers who helped me were so professional and polite. They helped me finish packing up my stuff, install a fire alarm in the ceiling and put things in my car. They had great personalities and we had fun unpacking and talking about where I had collected all my things and stories behind them. They also are storing some of my belongings and it is cheaper than any storage unit I could find in Mass! I will be using them again when I buy my next place - I'm happy I bought this deal!

Rare moving and trucking was wonderful again. We hired them to help us move 2.5 years ago. When we needed a fridge moved they were the first company we called. Andre, Terrence and Will showed up on time, between 8 and 9am. They took a tour with me to determine what was staying and what was going. They wrapped all my furniture in padding to protect them. They did not scratch walls moving out or moving in. They broke down furniture and put it back together at the new residence. They were professional and courteous. They were never rude or inappropriate. I am extremely glad I chose them.

Booking was handled promptly and professionally. Movers were on time, pleasant and made sure the piano was not damaged.(They photographed the piano prov' to the move).

I emailed multiple movers and Rare, by far, was the most responsive and had the best customer service. They came out and scoped the work and showed up with the appropriate crew.The movers were outstanding. Very hard working, careful, attentive, and great guys. Could not have asked for more. This company works like a well-oiled machine and you will not be disappointed. Dont settle for expensive national companies or super-cheap options. Moving is tough and stressful!
